Live Life Balanced with Robin: Hey? Y'all welcome back. It's Robin, and you are joining me today for an episode on the healthier habits for a healthier home. And today, we are.

2

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: hey, y'all welcome back to today's episode on the healthy habits for a healthier home, podcast i'm Robin, your podcast host. And I'm so excited that you're here today.

3

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I want to invite you into what I would consider to be just a little chat about what home really means.

4

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: because when we read the healthier habits for a healthier home. I think home has different meanings. And so I wanted to clarify that today in a solo episode. So what does home actually mean? Not the 4 walls, just the 4 walls that you live in, because, of course, that is our home, that is our physical home. But we also have an inner home which consists of our heart, our mind, and our spirit.

5

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And that is what I would consider an additional home. So when we're talking about these healthy habits, some are going to be for your physical space, but others are going to be for your internal

6

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: being, because in order to have holistic health, we need to nurture, not just the physical part of ourselves, but we need to nurture that internal internal home piece that

7

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: allows us to have peace. It allows us to find joy. It allows us to really dig deep into a healing that some of us may need from things that have happened to us over the course of our years. So we're going to explore some simple ways to create healthier spaces inside and out, so that you can feel more grounded, more vibrant, and truly at home in your life, not just in the 4 walls that you live or the outside world.

8

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So let's see, we're going to share.

9

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Why this topic has popped up is because last week I was having a client call, and we were working on some of those internal pieces.

10

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and we were relating it to home, and it just made me realize that I needed to define a little bit for my audience what that actually means, the home, the internal piece, as well as the external piece. I often talk about primary foods and secondary foods, and for those of you, if you're new to this, podcast primary foods are all things off your plate that feed your soul

11

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and secondary is all the food on your plate. But if we don't have a balance between our primary and our secondary, then we're really not living

12

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: the healthiest life that we could be living. And so again, if you're new to this, podcast primary foods are things like joy, spirituality, relationships, career, where you.

13

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: how you move your body.

14

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: your home cooking, your home environment. So it kind of entails all of those things. And then, obviously secondary food is the nutritious, nutrient, dense foods that we will feed ourselves to create that best wellness. So that is why I wanted to have this conversation today, because I want people to start looking a little bit beyond

15

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: the physical sense of home being the 4 walls that you live in. So again, we're going to talk about physical, spiritual, and emotional, and how we can build some healthy habits in each of those that will make us feel better. That will help us to live a lighter, more fulfilled life where we can actually thrive.

16

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So let's get started. We're going to start with the physical home. Because I think most people, when they read the title of the podcast. Healthier habits for a healthier home. You're going to think of that physical space as first.st And so that is the actual living space that is the home that you create for yourself, the air, the water, the products, the environment, how you have your home set up, and why you're thinking, why does this matter? Well.

17

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: 1st and foremost, toxins and clutter definitely can weigh us down. A healthier home can mean less inflammation for our bodies, fewer headaches. It can also

18

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: promote more energy and even a happier mood. So when we have a foundation within our home, that is.

19

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: you know, organized and provides us a sense of peace that brings our mood to a different state if you ever have had a cluttered closet

20

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: recently, I needed to clean out my closet, and I just kept avoiding it, and one day. I was like every time you walk in here to grab your

21

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: workout clothes you're literally walking in and turning around and leaving immediately, because it just feels when I'm in there. And so I was just like that's enough. And so I cleaned it out, and I have to say that it was well overdue, but after I did it it felt so much better. And now I enjoy going in my closet. I have a different vibe. When I go in there, I feel differently. So you know, those are just a few examples

22

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: of why, how our moods can change when our environment matches up

23

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: so a couple of different things that I wanted you to be able to take away today were just a few tangible items that you might want to try on. So the 1st one would be opening your windows or your screen doors or your doors. If you have a screen to let some fresh air in 10 min minutes can make a huge difference to get that air, circulation and air flow. You know we live. I live in Florida, depending on where you live in their summertime

24

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: are pretty much year round. It's hot, and then we're closed in our homes and we have the A/C going, but that's there's no fresh air. That kind of comes in. So opening your windows and your doors, you know, every once in a while, when you won't sweat to death is really good for the air in your home

25

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: that brings me to another thing which is making sure that the quality of your air in your home is good, that is, you know, having your A/C units cleaned once a year, twice a year, just making sure that those units are not full of mold and things that could be potentially being pushed into your home.

26

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: The second thing is getting a quality air filter.

27

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: It's super simple. And I know you're thinking what's the big deal. But it's really really impactful. I've learned a lot about water this year, and what is in our water. And it's kind of frightening here in Florida. We did ban fluoride. So that was turned off, I think, a week ago, so that will no longer be flowing through our water. But we still have antibiotics, pesticides.

28

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: other contaminants that are not good for us. And so

29

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I want you just to imagine how much water you use per day.

30

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: If you drink, you know what you're supposed to, or what would be good for you? You know I'm drinking a hundred ounces, you know, 75 to 100 ounces of water depending on, you know, the day

31

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I'm showering I'm brushing my teeth. I'm washing my face. I'm washing the dishes and my clothes. If you really think about how much water you actually use. Getting a good quality air filter is something that we don't think about. But I think is a really good 1st step to cleaning the physical environment of your home. And I always say.

32

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: think about the things you use most often, and those are the things you want to tackle first.st So again, water being one that I think we dismiss a lot is something that we should take a look at

33

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: next we could. Really, I know I talk about this a lot. But switching to, you know, fragrance free or naturally scented cleaners and laundry products

34

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: really does add up and make a big difference for your air quality in your home.

35

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I love branch basics, Molly Suds force of nature, and then creating just things on your own. It's not as hard as we think we have pinterest. Now we can look for all different kinds of recipes. I really kind of got into that during the Covid years when we were kind of at home more.

36

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And I really realized that it's not that difficult. So creating something on your own might be on your to do list. But if not, the cool thing, branch basics is now at target. So you don't have to order online, which

37

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: for me, I know is good when I'm running low and I forget to order. I can just run there now, and I love it.

38

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: But I still like to order online because

39

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I don't know. I don't really love to go shopping anymore. That much. Okay, the next thing this is super simple. We used to do it when the kids were little. It's just a 5 min pickup at night, but I still do it, even though I don't have kids at home anymore, because for me, clearing out that energy at night, so that I can wake up with a fresh kitchen

40

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: where it's inviting and not cluttered with dishes and piles of junk for me just really

41

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: starts my day off, you know, in a in a good place.

42

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And then, lastly, I want to talk about bringing some plants into your space. The quality of your air can be cleaned with some simple plants, and it really does. Also, they're just really pretty. They lift your spirits, but they really are good for your environment.

43

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Some of the easy air purifying plants that I have, that I don't kill. Number One is the snake plant I feel like that's almost impossible to kill. I think I might have killed one in my time of having plants. So that's pretty good, and it even tolerates low light. We do have them in our bedroom. It is great for bedroom, because it releases oxygen at night.

44

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Spider plants. They

45

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: excuse me so spider plants is a second plant, and what they do is they remove carbon monoxide from our air. And I think that's super important. They're also cute and super super easy to take care of

46

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: a peace. Lily is another one. It creates these little tiny white flowers, but it what the

47

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: peace lilies, if you don't know what those are. They're really really pretty, and they have these little white flowers, and they help filter ammonia and vocs from paint and things like that they do need a little bit more care because they like to be watered so you can't just ignore them completely. Otherwise they do die.

48

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: There's a new plant that I was introduced to called the Zz plant.

49

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: They're Super hardy. They thrive on neglect. They don't care if they're not talked to. They don't care if you forget to water them that week, but they do filter out.

50

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and lastly, an aloe vera plant. It cleans the air, and you can also use the gel for your skin. It loves bright light, but it can be in direct light, like it doesn't have to be sitting in the sun. I have these on my porch, and they're like out of control.

51

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So I looked up a recipe where you can actually make aloe vera gel

52

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: to drink. But look up the recipe don't just do it on your own, but I've also made them into like little ice cubes and things like that. So there's different things that you can do with that plant.

53

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So getting a couple plants, even putting them together in little clumps really creates

54

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: an environment where they all thrive, and they'll be able to clean your air more efficiently.

55

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And lastly, taking off your shoes at the door.

56

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: this is something we never really did growing up. But when we moved to Michigan, because of the snow and the sleet and the dirtiness outside, we would always we had a mud room, and so we got in the habit of taking our shoes off, and I've kind of carried that forward through most of our life. I'm not neurotic where we have company over, you know I make everybody take their shoes off. However.

57

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: if you actually thought about really what the shoes bring in the house.

58

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: it's kind of gross, especially when you have little ones crawling on the floor, walking on the floor, dropping something on the floor, picking it up. And you know, my kids have that like 5 second rule. And it's just like, No, that's so gross.

59

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So some of the things that you might not think about that our shoes can bring into our house are pesticides and lawn chemicals. So if you've walked across somebody's lawn to get home, you could potentially have that gasoline and oil residue from parking lots, gas stations, dirt, mud, and, of course, dust.

60

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: bacteria from sidewalks, parks, and public bathrooms.

61

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Animal waste particles. Yes, so that's so gross. But even if you don't see it on the sidewalk or in an area where you're walking.

62

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: there is still those little particles that could get picked up by your shoes, mold spores, and pollen that can also affect somebody. If they have allergies, it can trigger it. So there's really nothing great that comes in with your shoes again. Do you have to be an erotic? No, but

63

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: maybe just for your household, you have that rule. So just something to think about.

64

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So just recapping really quick on the physical part. You know, we're talking just about the water, the air.

65

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and we talked about, you know, making sure that we

66

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: get our air conditioning serviced, making sure that we open our doors and our windows, sometimes looking for those quality air filters that will actually filter out the things that we do not want in our water. And I did a whole little thing on this. I can put it in the show notes that you guys can see some of the water filters that actually do what they're supposed to do.

67

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Switching to that fragrance free or naturally scented cleaners and laundry products really helps with the air in your house, doing that quick pickup and then adding plants to also help the air.

68

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So those are just a couple of things and obviously taking your shoes off. Those are a few things, maybe pick one or 2 and try them on and see how it feels. Because again, this is about our physical space that we are trying to create some healthier habits.

69

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: We're going to move on now to that internal home piece which is the emotional and the spiritual side.

70

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So this is this is your body

71

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: when we're thinking about the internal home. This is your mind and the thoughts that you have, and your spirit, which all of that together is your particular temple. And so how we treat that inner home, right, how we care for that inner home really is a reflection on the outside of how you behave, how you serve, how you act, the thoughts you have. So

72

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: it matters because, you know we carry our inner home with us everywhere we go, so if our thoughts are not aligned or serving, if our beliefs or our nervous systems are cluttered or toxic, it ripples out into other things that you do in your life.

73

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And so, you know, healing here like this internal version of ourselves, the internal home. It's lifelong. It's not something that we just do one time, and then it's done. So it's about creating safety for ourselves. It's about creating self love. It's about creating peace within, and that is an ongoing, healing, lifelong journey again. I'm not 100 years old, but I am in my fifties, and I can certainly say

74

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: it's an evolution as you grow and experience and gain wisdom.

75

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So today, just for today's.

76

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: podcast. We're just going to talk about a couple of those 1% shifts that we can do to create healthier habits for our internal home. The 1st one is really staying focused on what is good in your life. What is? What brings you peace? What brings you joy?

77

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Because all of those things, and not that everybody's life is always all of these things. But when we choose to focus on that rather than the challenges that we are going to go through, and that we are going through, it helps to rewire our brain.

78

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: which can help to reduce our cortisol levels. And honestly, who doesn't want that? Especially in this midlife? You know, mothering chapter keeping our cortisol levels, you know.

79

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: balanced if you will, is definitely a win.

80

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: The second thing is questioning thoughts that come up during the day. I find this to be something that you know. As I've grown over time and gained wisdom, I'm able to get a handle on a little bit better. But back in my earlier twenties it was definitely something that I was not good at and really just did not have the tools.

81

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So the 1st thing is listening, it's pausing, and it's listening to the questions, listening to those thoughts that are coming up during the day. But then pausing and asking ourselves, Is this true?

82

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Is this something that is serving me or to me in a way that will expand myself, my keep, my inner home balanced, and in a way that I'm going to be able to create health and longevity in the future.

83

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And if the answer is no, then

84

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: it is about talking that through that, so that that thought no longer

85

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: stays at the forefront of your mind. And again, this takes practice. It takes courage, it takes challenging those thoughts, and it is definitely something that every person I've ever come in contact with

86

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: clients, friends, family, could definitely stand to gain some tools and work on

87

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: starting some of the tools, starting your day with a 2 to 5 min gratitude or prayer. It just really helps us to start our day focused with intention on what is good

88

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: being grateful, having an attitude of gratitude really does change the way that our mind and our body

89

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: physically works by having more positivity. And it's not to play down the challenges that we go through, because we will all go through those things. But it's just about

90

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: looking at them in a way that doesn't allow them to overtake.

91

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: You know your internal home if you will.

92

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So, starting with a gratitude or a prayer.

93

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: trying some breath work, or just simply pausing and taking 3 slow, deep breaths. When we feel stressed, when we feel.

94

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: you know, our internal home becoming having a sense of chaos. So to me, pausing is a golden tool. It has been that for myself, it's been that for most of my clients, because it stops things in motion

95

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: when we intentionally pause. If we're in a chaotic, challenging situation, and we have the intention to pause and

96

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: to take a few deep breaths and allow ourselves to come back to

97

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: more of a balanced state, then we can

98

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: number one begin to regulate our nervous system, which will allow us to have better thoughts around the thoughts that we're having and be able to put those thoughts in its place. Is this serving? Is this something that is going to grow me in a way that makes sense

99

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: is this truth? I think that statement in itself. That question that we ask ourselves is so important. And I think it's something that we is very underutilized. But a lot of times that when these questions start or thoughts start popping up in our head, if we are to ask the question, is this true?

100

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Or serving most of the time? The answer is, no. Now, if it is true, but it's not serving.

101

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: that's a different, you know. Conversation. If it's true, what can you do to reframe it? If it's true, what steps can you do to take responsibility

102

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and then move forward in a different way. So there's a lot of things that go into that question. But I think that question again. It's just really underutilized. So when your mind starts to go and derail, and starts to take you down a path that you really is not helpful or serving that question. The pause 1st of all has to happen in order for you to be able to take a few deep breaths and then start asking yourself, you know those very important questions.

103

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: journaling brain dumping our worries, writing what we're excited for, or what we're excited about asking God for guidance. I think journaling is another very underutilized tool, because we have this perfectionism that comes within us, that our journals have to be perfect.

104

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: that they have to look a certain way, that they have to have all these fancy markers and stickers. And and I just want to say, brain dumping is not that that type of journaling

105

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: has its place, and it's really good for creativeness and things like that. But brain dumping is just sitting down and writing whatever comes to your mind.

106

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And what's really really good about that is that it allows you to write fragmented sentences, words, worries, happy things, things that you're excited for. It allows you to just kind of be all over the map and not feel like it has to be a journal prompt with a journal writing. So again, brain dumping is a little bit different than traditional journaling. But I think that's a really great way to release some of the things that we carry around with us.

107

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Setting your iphone for reminders during the day to stand, stretch and repeat a loving affirmation. It literally takes 2 min to do that, and by giving ourselves a brain break by standing up away from the computer by getting away from your phone by taking just a few minutes to yourself

108

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: to stand up and kind of reallocate where our mind is really is something that will make you more productive in your work.

109

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And then, lastly, one of the things that

110

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I think we think is not okay is letting ourselves have feelings. But we need to learn to have feelings without judging the feelings. We all are

111

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: humans, right. And all humans have emotions and emotions are not the enemy.

112

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: We need to recognize that we have emotions because we are

113

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: a human being with and and people have different emotions. Right? More people, some people are more emotional than other people, but

114

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: your emotions are your own. So feel through those things right. Allow yourself to feel the feelings without judgment, without saying that you're less than because you have more feelings than the next person, or you have deeper feelings, or you hold on to feelings, or you know, and everybody is created individually. So we're going to have different experiences, but feeling through it, but

115

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: then pausing and reminding ourselves that we don't have to live there, so we can have an emotion.

116

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: But we can also take our power back to have

117

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: the ability. We do have the ability and the capability to reframe and make those 1% shifts to change the view of the emotion. You know I am feeling sad

118

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: because blah blah! So you can have a sad feeling around that particular event. But it doesn't mean that you are sad.

119

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: It means that you're having a sad emotion around whatever the concrete thing is. So again, looking at what the emotion is, applying it to, whatever the physical thing is that's causing the emotion and then disconnecting that you are not the emotion.

120

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So I'm going to say that again, because that was hard for me to understand at the beginning. But now that I've been practicing it long enough, it is super helpful. So when we have an emotion, we're going to identify the emotion. I'm just going to use this as an example. But sad.

121

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: So the emotion that I'm feeling right now is sad, and I'm going to allow myself to feel sad without judgment. That something is that I'm not perfect. I'm not right. I'm not, whatever. But then I'm going to pause, and I'm going to ask myself.

122

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I feel sad. Why, so? I'm feeling sad, because

123

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: you know, XY and Z, let me see if I can make something up. So I'm feeling sad because,

124

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: okay, so here's an example. I'm feeling sad, because

125

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: okay, here's here's an example. So I'm feeling sad because

126

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: nobody wished me a happy birthday this morning.

127

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Okay, so I'm going to allow myself to feel that sadness, to feel whatever feelings come up. But then I'm going to pause, and I'm going to ask myself I'm feeling sad. Why, I'm feeling sad because nobody wished me a happy birthday this morning, and then I can look at that situation a little bit differently, and

128

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: but remove myself.

129

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I am not sad. I'm sad about the situation. I'm sad that nobody said happy birthday

130

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: next, letting ourselves feel our feelings without judgment. We are all human, and we all have emotions and really emotions are not the enemy.

131

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: We need to be able to feel the emotions that arise within us, but know that the emotion is not who we are. It is a feeling that we're having due to a certain circumstance. So feeling through them, and then reminding ourselves that we don't have to live there, I think that sometimes, where we have a disconnect, we stay in that state of emotion

132

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: when we don't really need to be, we just need to acknowledge the emotion and the why behind it.

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and then work on steps to moving through it. So we are capable. And we're definitely able to reframe and make those 1% shifts to change the view, to see the emotion without judging ourselves, to see the emotion without being the emotion and attaching it to the thing that is causing the emotion rather than attaching it to yourself and feeling like that is who you are.

134

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: Lastly, protecting your energy. This is something, again that I've learned more so in this midlife menopausal chapter of my life, but saying no logging off, unfollowing, stepping away when needed

135

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: again. For me. This has really come up significantly. I think my time, you know, I'm looking at time differently, and it's really precious, and who I surround myself with in this time

136

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: I feel like has to bring me peace, joy, positive growth, or a loving company for me to be able to say yes, I can no longer say yes, to things that drain my energy are not serving to where I want to go.

137

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and these, you know, used to be feel like more selfish things. But now I understand, probably being in this midlife chapter, that it's not being selfish. It's just knowing where I want to grow. And in order to grow to something different. You have to

138

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: do something different. So some of those things

139

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: again for me have just come recently in the last few years, and I think definitely empty nesting and going into this midlife, hormonal fluctuations and all of the fun things of life have definitely brought a lot of this to light, and I'm super grateful for it.

140

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and then very last. But we always talk about creating those habits, creating those rituals that nourish. You know our spirit that nourish our mind, and that could be as simple as morning coffee on the porch after your water, of course, taking walks evening or morning in the in peace, not always listening to music, not always listening to podcasts, but just walking in nature and observing the beauty that we get to walk

141

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: in this life and seeing what

142

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: has been created for us. The trees, the skies, the grass people's homes being curated that look nice things, you know, when we're out. If you're walking on a trail. You're observing nature and the way that these trees have grown together. And you know, wildlife and things like that. So

143

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: walks are definitely great for movement, but they're also good for headspace movement.

144

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: so sipping your coffee, taking those walks,

145

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: taking quiet time to meditate or study Scripture, or really just have time to connect to something higher than yourself.

146

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: All right. So we talked about the physical home we've talked about now, the emotional side of things and the spiritual side of things and the mind side of things.

147

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And so some of those things, just to recap staying focused on what is good, and brings you peace and joy, questioning our thoughts and asking yourself if it's true, starting our day with gratitude or prayer.

148

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: working on breath work, and really using that golden tool pausing. I just really feel like it's something that's very underutilized journaling, but doing it more in a brain dump style. Not something that, you know, necessarily has to be curated, and looks a certain way.

149

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: making sure that we take time during the day several times a day to stand stretch, you know, and repeat a loving affirmation, you know, setting those phone reminders, using our phone for good

150

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: and then making sure we let ourselves feel those feelings without judgment, I think, is super important and protecting our energy, of course.

151

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And then, like, I said, creating those routines and those rituals that incorporate all of those things will really help us to nourish that home that lives with inside of us that lives inside of us.

152

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: All right. So as we wrap up today. I just want to remind you that true wellness is holistic, which means body, mind and spirit and environment. So that's those primary foods and your secondary foods and a favorite quote of mine. It's by an unknown author says, you deserve to feel at home in your body, your space and your life, and I think sometimes

153

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: you know, we do the space part. But we forget about the body part. So I like that quote as as a good reminder.

154

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And now I'm just going to encourage you this week, just to pick one small habit, whether it's your physical home or your internal home, and try on, you know, one or 2 in each category, and just see if you notice a difference, and maybe it's not going to happen the 1st time. But maybe after a week or so you will start to notice some positive changes by implementing some of these small shifts.

155

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: If you do try on any of these habits, and you would like to share them with me. I absolutely would love to hear what, hear what resonated with you. You can send me a DM. Or you can post on the Instagram Post. When I launch this episode.

156

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: you can also rate and review this episode and share it with another mama that might need to hear this information, because maybe you know, someone who is, you know, nurturing that internal home, but not their physical home, or maybe their physical home and not their internal home. And we definitely can share this and help another mama out. So I want to again. Always thank you guys for listening. You're never alone on this journey.

157

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: And you know, not only am I here cheering you on, but everybody who listens to this podcast, is in this community and in this group for a reason, and it is because we are here to support each other. So, you know, jumping on Instagram, finding those people over there having conversations, it is truly a way to grow yourself. And I think that is something that we are all here for

158

::

Live Life Balanced with Robin: this, this podcast is here for you to give you tips and tools, but it's also a great place for you to connect with like-minded individuals that are on the same road to healing as you might be on.
