Welcome to five Minutes with Grey Hair Dave.
Speaker A:He has grey hair and he has a grey beard and he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.
Speaker A:Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.
Speaker A:Now, tariff free.
Speaker A:Here is Grey Hair Dave.
Speaker B:Well, yes, yes, yes, folks, that was elevenlabs IO.
Speaker B:Elevenlabs IO is spelled E L, E V E N L a b s IO, not the number 11.
Speaker B:If you like what you heard, you'd want to check out more.
Speaker B:Go over to the show notes in this podcast, click the link because that's a affiliate link that I use so that if you click on it and you do purchase, I get a commission from that from 11 labs.
Speaker B:So how are you, folks?
Speaker B:First of all, let me apologize for not live streaming on the 11th.
Speaker B:It is completely my fault.
Speaker B:And again, I do apologize.
Speaker B:Things came up that were beyond my control and I didn't want to put out terrible quality, especially on my first live show.
Speaker B:So I don't know when I'll try it again.
Speaker B:Folks, a lot has to happen and I am not sure how and when, but it'll happen.
Speaker B:I'll make it happen.
Speaker B:So let's talk about work for a minute.
Speaker B:As you know, I work for, for the Mouse over here in Orlando, Florida.
Speaker B:And I went to my doctor last week and he says, here's what we're going to do.
Speaker B:We're going to put you back to regular duty and see what happens with your foot.
Speaker B:Last time before that, they gave me a cortisone shot and it, it felt okay for a couple days and then I didn't notice it.
Speaker B:And he told me last week because I have a new doctor now because I think my other doctor has left the firm.
Speaker B:I don't know what's going on there, and I don't know that it was my place to ask, but it probably is because she was my doctor and did my surgery.
Speaker B:But he was very happy with what he.
Speaker B:He did with that examining.
Speaker B:He did, did some more X rays and he goes, the problem with cortisone is it starts out low and then it moves up a little bit, plateaus a little bit, plateaus a little bit, plateaus until you're at full force.
Speaker B:He goes, he should really last six months to a year.
Speaker B:Okay, so he says, I'm going to put you back to regular duty.
Speaker B:Let's see what happens.
Speaker B:I'll see you back in three weeks.
Speaker B:So I thought, great, you know, no more light duty.
Speaker B:I'm all for that back being outside all day.
Speaker B:I'm kind of all for that now that the weather's getting nicer.
Speaker B:So I got my schedule and I am, I'm back next week.
Speaker B:Not this week here, but next week I go back to regular duty.
Speaker B:And of course, I've been gone for so long, a year and a half, that it's actually like a year and seven months that I have to be retrained because, well, first of all, I've lost all my, all my certifications or everything that I would have had.
Speaker B:But I'll be 100 honest with you, I don't remember everything that we'd had to do, all the, all the safety procedures, the startups and the shutdown procedures, the what happens when it rains procedures, and all these fun things that I have to learn again.
Speaker B:So I'm looking forward to that.
Speaker B:That happens next week.
Speaker B:I work three days a week.
Speaker B:Luckily, training is only three days a week.
Speaker B:So let's just see what happens there.
Speaker B:And I'm looking forward to that a lot.
Speaker B:I am looking forward to going back.
Speaker B:Now.
Speaker B:I wanted to talk a little bit about AI and I had mentioned that I was going to do this on the live stream, but live streaming is great and easy to do if you're doing video.
Speaker B:So I went to Claude today and I said, hey, what steps do I have to take to.
Speaker B:Have to take to be live with my audio podcast?
Speaker B:I do not want to do video with it, I just want to do audio.
Speaker B:It gave me how to do it, how to submit it all pre recorded.
Speaker B:And I said, whenever it came back.
Speaker B:And I said, I don't think you understood me.
Speaker B:I want to podcast live, not pre recorded.
Speaker B:I know some who are doing it.
Speaker B:How do I do it?
Speaker B:Great clarification.
Speaker B:Live audio podcasting is different, is a different workflow.
Speaker B:Let me look into that options.
Speaker B:And it came back with basically, yeah, I have.
Speaker B:Yeah, there's a couple different ways.
Speaker B:And I knew them.
Speaker B:I know one of them is in your RSS feed.
Speaker B:You have to add a lit tag or a live tag, a live item tag, which is a lit tag.
Speaker B:And that's all with podcasting 2.0 features.
Speaker B:Not everybody has done this yet.
Speaker B:Not all the hosts have done it, have been able to say, yes, we're going to add this.
Speaker B:Don't know why.
Speaker B:I think it would improve things.
Speaker B:I think that more people would go live.
Speaker B:Now, he did tell me that I could go to rss feed or rss.com and go through that.
Speaker B:Is that just no?
Speaker B:They're not saying no, actually, that's.
Speaker B:I read that wrong.
Speaker B:I have to enable My RSS feed.
Speaker B:See, I'm glad I'm talking to you guys.
Speaker B:But basically what they're saying is I need to go to a company called mixlr.com I am not an affiliate there.
Speaker B:I create an account, have a paid plan designed for podcasts which will put you live.
Speaker B:I looked into the pricing.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:If I go by the month, it's like 49amonth.
Speaker B:I was like, yeah, I don't think so.
Speaker B:Just to, to play with it and go live.
Speaker B:I, I would rather just go live on YouTube, I guess.
Speaker B:YouTube or even Facebook or Tick Tock or I guess I could go to Twitch.
Speaker B:I don't know how many podcasters use Twitch to, to view.
Speaker B:I could go to Substack with it.
Speaker B:I suppose that might be a thought.
Speaker B:Let me break that down as we are talking here.
Speaker B:I also do take notes.
Speaker B:I really do.
Speaker B:I take notes.
Speaker B:And who doesn't?
Speaker B:And if you don't, you should let me write that down.
Speaker B:Live the sub stack.
Speaker B:Excuse the pause here.
Speaker B:I always thought I was a multitasker until you try and write and talk at the same time and the world don't come out right.
Speaker B:They come when you go, what the heck?
Speaker B:What did I say?
Speaker B:Anyway, anyways, so there's that.
Speaker B:So that's, that's my, my story about AI today.
Speaker B:And that's as far as I'm going with AI today.
Speaker B:I promised also that I would talk about more or give you a little bit of insight of what I was thinking about with the Gray Hair Dave project.
Speaker B:The Gray Hair Day project already has a name.
Speaker B:The Gray Hair Day Project already has a website.
Speaker B:I have built the book.
Speaker B:I told you about how to podcast.
Speaker B:And again, if you're interested in that, drop me a line at five minutes with Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker B:Go to the contact Me page or just leave me a voicemail.
Speaker B:I'll be happy to send you out a free PDF of that.
Speaker B:I want to tell you this, so I am going to put it online on a couple of places.
Speaker B:Amazon is one and there's other places that, that sell these types of things because I want to make some money.
Speaker B:But the plan on this, this new project, and I'll tell you what it is, basically there's.
Speaker B:I'm not.
Speaker B:I'm a senior citizen and you don't know how hard it is to accept that you're a senior citizen when you don't feel like a senior.
Speaker B:I don't feel old, folks.
Speaker B:I just don't.
Speaker B:Now are there days I wake up and go, oh, oh, you know, like your grandfather or your dad did.
Speaker B:Yes, many days like that.
Speaker B:But I don't feel my age, so I don't act my age most times.
Speaker B:Sometimes I act my age on purpose, but usually I don't because what's the fun in that?
Speaker B:So I was thinking, I have,.
Speaker A:I.
Speaker B:Have done a podcast with my brother which if you're interested in listening to that, is called Poetry from Poetry of Christian Faith.
Speaker B:We did a hundred episodes, which is a lot that took two years.
Speaker B:It was a weekly show.
Speaker B:And I've done a couple other ones.
Speaker B:One's called Memories from the Mouse.
Speaker B:I enjoyed that one.
Speaker B:I think I told you about that one.
Speaker B:That's the one that the corporation said if I want to keep working here, I couldn't do that anymore.
Speaker B:And I said I want to keep working.
Speaker B:But there are so many people out there who are over 55 living in communities that are over 55 communities who are still active, vital, knowledgeable and have things to share, whether that is their hobbies like golfing or fishing, crocheting, you know, needlepoint, whatever that is.
Speaker B:That they could do a podcast and I could go in and do that for help them with that.
Speaker B:They may not have the equipment.
Speaker B:They may not even know how to do these things.
Speaker B:I do also with that, I'm going to offer them audio and audio video.
Speaker B:So I'm going to do video 2 for them if they want.
Speaker B:But I'm also going to offer legacies if they want to tell their life stories.
Speaker B:The things that their kids may not remember or know or their grandkids or great grandkids may never know because they don't think to ask.
Speaker B:I'm going to offer that service also.
Speaker B:And this is a service I'm going to take to them.
Speaker B:They don't have to come to me.
Speaker B:I've already figured out pricing.
Speaker B:I've already, I've got a book that they can use like the one you're going to get for free is going to be paid for soon.
Speaker B:And I will take this to them and the communities and talk with you.
Speaker B:Of course, I have to go through the community management.
Speaker B:I'll offer them the opportunity to do resident interviews, put them up on their, you know, their, their.
Speaker B:We use something called Cast tv.
Speaker B:But I'm sure they've all got some kind of an in house, closed circuit kind of a thing going.
Speaker B:And I think that would be a lot of fun for them and a lot of fun for me.
Speaker B:And there are a lot of these communities in my generalized facility, you know, vicinity.
Speaker B:I Do live in Florida, folks.
Speaker B:They call it God's waiting room for a reason.
Speaker B:Now, if you're trying to steal this, good luck.
Speaker B:If you're going to do it, do it in another state besides Florida.
Speaker B:But the name is there.
Speaker B:I have, I'm not announcing it yet, but this was the week I was going to start by introducing things and I was going to use that live video to send copies of it or snippets of it to some of the managers of these communities that I wanted to talk to.
Speaker B:I will still do this.
Speaker B:I'll just make a regular recording at a different time of day.
Speaker B:So that's, that's the Gray Hair Dave Project.
Speaker B:That's not the website.
Speaker B:That's not what I'm going to the community let you know.
Speaker B:Community managers with and saying, hey, here's what I up here's a great.
Speaker B:I got this project.
Speaker B:It's called Gray Hair Day Project.
Speaker B:No, I'm not going to do that.
Speaker B:So for those of you who listen, you are now in the know.
Speaker B:So, folks, is podcasting something you want to get into?
Speaker B:Is leaving a legacy something you want to get into?
Speaker B:Let me know.
Speaker B:Go to five minutes with Gray here.
Speaker B:Dave, I'm here to help you.
Speaker B:I'll help you get started.
Speaker B:I'll help you do whatever you need to do to teach you how to be a podcaster and get out there.
Speaker B:After a certain point, of course I'm going to want to be paid.
Speaker B:But in the beginning, if it's just a couple of questions or this or that, I'm always there for you folks because you guys are my, you're my fans and I'm your fan.
Speaker B:And I'd love.
Speaker B:If you have a podcast, send me a link so I can listen to it.

Speaker B:Love to get what you guys are doing.
Speaker B:Also, folks, if you are out and about and you see somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is, you have friends, you have family, you have grandparents who doesn't know what a podcast is.
Speaker B:Take them by the hand, grab their phone, pull up the podcast app on either their iPhone or their Android phone.
Speaker B:Show them how to do it, show them how to find it.
Speaker B:Show them the different genres.
Speaker B:Use Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave as the example.
Speaker B:Have them follow me, have them listen to me to see what it's like.
Speaker B:Show them the different genres.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:Also, folks, you're out and about in your life this week.
Speaker B:You see somebody you don't know or that cashier behind that counter who looks like they're having a day from a day from hell.
Speaker B:Smile.
Speaker B:Say thank you for being there.
Speaker B:Say hello.
Speaker B:It'll make their day.
Speaker B:It'll turn it around, which will make your day better.
Speaker B:So on behalf of Gray Hair Dave here and Gray Hair Productions, I'm going to let you go.
Speaker B:And I'll talk to you next week.
Speaker B:Bye.
Speaker B:Bye.
