On this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast, we talk about this episode where we finally meet our nemesis, Rob Benedict's character.
Speaker B:And I teach Diana her new favorite word.
Speaker B:Wincest.
Speaker B:Say it with me.
Speaker B:Wincest.
Speaker A:Ew.
Speaker B:Let's do this.
Speaker B:Sa.
Speaker A:Welcome to this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast.
Speaker A:We're going to Talk Season 4, Episode 18, the Monster at the End of this book.
Speaker A:Hi, I'm Diana.
Speaker B:Hey, I'm Liz.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So how are you this week?
Speaker B:I don't know, man.
Speaker A:Don't ask these things.
Speaker B:It's been a week.
Speaker B:And this timeline.
Speaker B:This timeline is stupid.
Speaker B:So, so stupid.
Speaker B:Because it's like, you have plans.
Speaker B:We're going to take these plans, I'm going to smash them, and then I'm going to rip them inside out and then, like, make you eat that.
Speaker B:That is pretty much this timeline.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:So now, trip to San Francisco not successful.
Speaker B:I mean, I was there, and I was telling you.
Speaker A:Successfully got to and from San Francisco.
Speaker B:That is.
Speaker B:Actually, I did.
Speaker B:I got in a plane, went there, came back, did one.
Speaker B:Did one work thing, and then spent the rest of the time.
Speaker B:Oh, and went to the Guitar center.
Speaker B:And we did determine that there is just one Guitar center in the universe, and they just have multiple entrances.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B: nter in San antonio in, like,: Speaker B:It's the same guys, and I swear to God, it's the same store.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I wouldn't be shocked.
Speaker A:I'm only disappointed that they have not shared this technology with other endeavors at this point.
Speaker A:That's really all I'm upset about.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:I mean, it must be some kind of fuel they get from, like, having to listen to people, like, take the guitars off the wall and sample them.
Speaker B:Oh, my God.
Speaker B:I mean, I did successfully go into Guitar center and only leave with the things that were on our production list.
Speaker B:That's so.
Speaker A:I'm impressed.
Speaker B:Very glad.
Speaker B:Because even, like, if.
Speaker B:Although they'd had a Bob Barker mike, I would have gotten it, but they did not have it.
Speaker B:Well, I almost bought, like, 17 other mics, though, because I'm just like, look at you.
Speaker B:Oh, you're so pretty.
Speaker B:Pretty microphones.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So I.
Speaker B:There are certain stores that you should just stay out of when you're an adult with credit cards with bigger limits on them than when you were a kid.
Speaker B:Because when I was a kid, like, my Kid, I mean like you late teenager.
Speaker B:Like you go to guitar center.
Speaker B:Like, like I can never afford this.
Speaker B:And now I'm like, I can buy all.
Speaker A:I might not be able to afford it, but they will let me buy it.
Speaker B:They will let me leave the store with this.
Speaker B:So yeah, I'm beyond that.
Speaker B:It's just, I think as everyone, I don't know, like this week is just gross.
Speaker A:It's just a weird week.
Speaker B:The world is gross right out.
Speaker B:I know it's about to get grosser.
Speaker B:I just feel it.
Speaker A:Don't say that.
Speaker B:It's gonna happen.
Speaker B:I'm sorry, man.
Speaker B:The economy is about to collapse.
Speaker B:It's just like things are gonna be really bad.
Speaker B:Like appreciate the crystal ball says sorry.
Speaker B:Look man, my, my optimism is that I will get through this.
Speaker B:Will you?
Speaker B:Well, Diana, you will probably get through this because you're on my team.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:You know, you're on my simulation team.
Speaker B:The rest of the world.
Speaker B:Yeah, you're going to have some hard times.
Speaker B:You maybe go buy some toilet paper.
Speaker B:Sell your crypto for real monkeys.
Speaker B:Straight cash.
Speaker B:But anyways.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So what are you up to?
Speaker A:Yeah, so we've.
Speaker A:Our home reno was finally finished and we got to share our lovely new backyard renovation with friends this past weekend.
Speaker A:And that was super fun.
Speaker A:And so yeah, some swimming, that's about all I've been up to.
Speaker A:I mean I'm counting down to a super fun music weekend this weekend.
Speaker A:But yeah, last weekend was mostly hosting and chilling by the pool.
Speaker A:Can't bitch about that.
Speaker A:I mean you can when it's 105+ before you get to the.
Speaker A:To the, you know, the.
Speaker A:The feels like temperature or whatever.
Speaker A:But yeah, no, it was still cool.
Speaker A:It was a good time.
Speaker B:What are you drinking?
Speaker A:Day drinking is exhausting by the way.
Speaker A:And tonight I am drinking a carryover from Saturday which I'm drinking a painkiller with.
Speaker B:Hiram Painkiller, my friend is who is in Vegas was drinking a dole whip.
Speaker A:Today by the pool.
Speaker B:It looked very nice.
Speaker B:I got a shipment from senor today.
Speaker B:So I am drinking their chardonnay because I'm going to be Karen drunk.
Speaker A:That's my goal.
Speaker B:Nice.
Speaker A:We gotta have goals.
Speaker A:It's important.
Speaker B:Yeah, I just want to be late to get off this podcast and then just yell at somebody for like no reason.
Speaker A:Just like call customers or rape somebody for no reason.
Speaker B:Yes, for something like I'm sure I could figure something out.
Speaker A:You can make up a reason.
Speaker A:It's fine.
Speaker B:Well, I'm sure there's plenty of things real reason I'm validly upset about.
Speaker B:Maybe I'll call a senator or something.
Speaker B:Just be like, look, this is the time.
Speaker B:So this episode, it is another meta episode and very, very excited about that.
Speaker B:We're getting like, we're getting even super, super, super meta.
Speaker B:The title Metal and meta Metta.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:But not affiliated with Facebook in any way.
Speaker B:So the monster at the end of this book.
Speaker B:So that comes from a Grover book?
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:Did you remember reading that book as a kid?
Speaker A:It' I vaguely do, yeah.
Speaker B:So in that book he's trying to like keep you from like reading it, like going further.
Speaker B:He's like, yeah, there's a monster.
Speaker B:There's a monster.
Speaker B:And it's him.
Speaker B:Oh, it's so sad.
Speaker B:Poor little monster.
Speaker A:Grover.
Speaker A:I. I am aware that that is the reference to this title.
Speaker A:I will tell you, for me, weirdly, this title, and I know it's not the same.
Speaker A:So the monster.
Speaker A:The monster end of this book.
Speaker A:There's a book series that I really like and they made a movie of it called John Dies at the End, which is.
Speaker A:It's super like.
Speaker A:It's fucking weird shit.
Speaker A:Like sci fi bizarre, but not.
Speaker A:I don't even know how to explain it.
Speaker A:Author of his pen name that he went by when he wrote that book.
Speaker A:It was David Wong.
Speaker A:His sense goes by his actual name.
Speaker A:He's later books.
Speaker A:But he was a writer for Cracked.
Speaker A:Remember that website that was super funny.
Speaker B:Of course I remember Cracked.
Speaker B:That's where my podcast boyfriend Robert Evans came from.
Speaker A:Yeah, he was a writer on there.
Speaker A:So anyways, he wrote these books.
Speaker A:But the movie's actually like pretty entertaining.
Speaker A:It's like, it's like they've already determined it'll be a cult classic, blah, blah, blah kind of shit.
Speaker A:But anyways, for some reason, Monster Dies at the End, the monster at the end of this book kept making me think of John Dies at the End.
Speaker A:And I don't know why, but that's where I got.
Speaker A:That's where my brain kept going.
Speaker A:So there's my little pitch on my reading slash.
Speaker A:And he's got a new book come out this year, but weird shit, but entertaining books.
Speaker A:So there's a weird tie in for you guys.
Speaker A:You're welcome.
Speaker B:Love it.
Speaker B:All right, so this was episode 18.
Speaker B:So we're getting close to the end of the season.
Speaker B: ,: Speaker B:It was directed by Mike Roll, our Princess Spitch guy.
Speaker B:The teleplay was so the.
Speaker B:This is kind of interesting.
Speaker B:So the teleplay is credited to Julie Siege.
Speaker B:And she's the one who did.
Speaker B:It's the Great Pumpkin and Criss Ang Douche.
Speaker B:And the story, though, is credited to Nancy Weiner.
Speaker B:And what's interesting, I think, was that she was a writer's assistant during the fourth and fifth seasons, but this story idea was hers.
Speaker B:Like, she's kind of, like, bullshitted it to Eric Kripke one day and was like, hey, wouldn't it be really funny?
Speaker B:There is a book about this.
Speaker B:And he talked about that during San Diego Con Panel nine, I think.
Speaker B:So Kripke talks about that there.
Speaker B:And so.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:And then Sarah Gamble is the one who had the idea to make him a profit.
Speaker B:And so I think that's just really neat.
Speaker B:Is like, they.
Speaker B:But also just how much they love picking fun of themselves.
Speaker B:And we'll see that more and more as we go through this episode.
Speaker B:Yeah, because, like, the last one was kind of there, but this one, they're just like, boom.
Speaker A:So fun.
Speaker B:Here we go.
Speaker B:And we just start off with someone, and that someone is.
Speaker B:Everyone's face finally recognized is Chuck is having flashes.
Speaker B:So did you get excited when you saw his face?
Speaker A:I was stoked.
Speaker A:So, I mean, obviously, y' all know our intent is to have it.
Speaker A:I have not watched the season, the series at all until, like, at the episode that we're talking about.
Speaker A:Just.
Speaker A:That's real.
Speaker A:Obviously, though, I'm a adult human being on the Internet who And goes to conventions and does our social media and things like that.
Speaker A:So I obviously, I know about the existence of this character, but I have.
Speaker A:Do not know how they tie into the story at all.
Speaker A:I just know that they are a character.
Speaker A:So to finally get to see them was awesome.
Speaker A:I was stoked.
Speaker A:It's kind of like, I was super excited when, like, the first time I got to see Castiel, I was like, yes, finally.
Speaker A:So, anyways, so I was excited.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And I was wondering, like, as I was watching this, how much the influence of, you know, fandom and other things will have, like, play on your, like, reaction to Rob Benedict and some other ones in here too.
Speaker B:Because, you know, when I saw this for the first.
Speaker B:That was the first time I saw Rob Benedict.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So you're like, who's this guy?
Speaker B:I was like, who's this guy?
Speaker B:But I also really liked his character.
Speaker B:I mean, because Chuck was in Chuck's, and I just thought, like, he was quirky, he was funny.
Speaker B:Like, I just really like this character.
Speaker B:And so.
Speaker B:But I got to, like, like, be on the edge of my seat.
Speaker B:Like, they reveal different things about him throughout the years.
Speaker B:And I know some of them, you know, just because, like you said, you're.
Speaker B:You're not.
Speaker A:I'm not sequestered.
Speaker A:I mean, it's not.
Speaker A:You're not.
Speaker B:And, you know, you have.
Speaker B:You have been to panels that he's.
Speaker B:You sat in a room with him.
Speaker A:We sat in a room, yeah.
Speaker A:We sat in a small room with him.
Speaker B:So, I mean, clearly some developments are probably you.
Speaker B:I mean, you can push them out of your head, but you won't know how they get there.
Speaker B:But there's stuff that I don't know, so.
Speaker A:And I'd say.
Speaker A:I'd say that.
Speaker A:Like the bits I know.
Speaker A:I mean, obviously, I understand that he's, you know, tied to God.
Speaker A:He is.
Speaker A:Has.
Speaker A:Is a writer and has to show you.
Speaker A:I know he's an ongoing character.
Speaker A:That's really all I know at this point, though, even through the.
Speaker A:Through what I've seen at fandom and everything else like that.
Speaker A:I know he, you know, and I know that he's a beloved character by fandom for fucking.
Speaker B:And he was the first Supernatural cast character to meet Peggy.
Speaker B:So I. I think that's, you know, that's a really distinct honor that Rob Benedict will hold forever.
Speaker B:I'm sure that is, like, somewhere right now as he's, like, shooting a TV show and doing the rival podcast.
Speaker B:You are like, fuck you.
Speaker B:Like, yeah, I forgot, you're.
Speaker B:He is our nemesis.
Speaker B:So, man.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker A:Well, let me real quick.
Speaker A:Since we're talking about Rob Benedict, let me go ahead and, you know, ob.
Speaker A:If you're listening to this and watching the show, you probably know who the fuck he is.
Speaker A:But just in case he's also known.
Speaker A:One of his biggest roles that he's known for was being Calvin in the movie Waiting.
Speaker A:He also was Vincent Lemak in Lucifer.
Speaker A:He's had roles in ncis, CSI episodes, House, Burn Notice, Alias.
Speaker A:He's been, like, on a billion TV shows.
Speaker A:He was in not another teen movie.
Speaker A:He was in Buffy, which is important, and Buffy Jape in two episodes.
Speaker A:And then he was on Felicity.
Speaker A:He's also known for his band Loud and Swing, so.
Speaker B:And he also did release a solo album this year, which many of his fandom have quite, quite opinions on.
Speaker B:And he.
Speaker B:But he also obviously leads all the cons.
Speaker B:He's on Kings of Cons.
Speaker B:You can talk about Rob.
Speaker B:This is not the podcast about Rob.
Speaker A:No, it's not the Rob Benedict show, so we'll move on.
Speaker A:I just thought it was important that we note those things.
Speaker A:If you're not following all that world.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:So we will bring you in.
Speaker B:So anyhow.
Speaker B:All right, so he's having flashes, and there are Sam and D. Like, what?
Speaker A:Yeah, and the guy.
Speaker A:And we see him having these flashes and it's like this really, like, musty, dusty, like, weird house.
Speaker A:And he, like.
Speaker A:I'm like, is this guy hung the fuck over?
Speaker A:It's just not a good look.
Speaker A:Anyway, so we cut to a comic book shop being entered by our brothers in suits and ties and introducing them.
Speaker A:It's a comic book shop with the two brothers as agents DeYoung and Shaw, which is a reference to the band Sticks.
Speaker A:And they start asking the guy that, working at the comic book shop about flickering lights and scratching in walls and cold spots.
Speaker B:The spooky question.
Speaker B:So it's spooky question time.
Speaker A:Not subtle.
Speaker A:Not subtle.
Speaker B:And the comic book nerd who they.
Speaker B:Obviously, this is a stereotype, but whatever.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker B:Sometimes stereotypes are true.
Speaker B:And he is just like, why does the FBI want to know about a rodent problem?
Speaker B:And then he's like, oh, you're larping.
Speaker B:Oh, God.
Speaker B:And then everyone's like, what?
Speaker A:Live action role playing, Entertaining.
Speaker B:And so he thinks that they're acting like the guys from the books.
Speaker B:And then.
Speaker B:What are those books called, Diana?
Speaker A:Supernatural.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:He's like, yeah, guys with fake IDs and rocker brand names that are hunting ghosts and demons and vampires and stuff.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And as an audience member at this point, you're like, what the fuck is happening?
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:And so he starts making some names.
Speaker B:And so we just start seeing these punches go through.
Speaker B:Here we got Steven, Dirk.
Speaker B:So Dirk reference back to the other Dirk, Sal and Dane, which is a reference to Kerouac, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker B:Something that was the actual inspirations for Sam and Dean's name.
Speaker B:But the boys are like, what's going on?
Speaker A:And they go to the bargain bin to see the books that had an underground cult following but didn't sell very well.
Speaker A:And then pulls up a book and it looks like a romance novel with, like, Fabio looking motherfuckers on it by Carver Edlund.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker B:And so Carver Edlund is amalgam.
Speaker B:Is that how you say that?
Speaker A:Amalgam.
Speaker B:A M A L G A M. Amalgam.
Speaker A:Amalgam.
Speaker B:Amalgam.
Speaker B:Amagomagamin.
Speaker A:The words that you read, but you can't say yes.
Speaker B:No, no.
Speaker B:It's words that put together.
Speaker B:So it basically is Jeremy Carver and Ben Edlunds.
Speaker B:You know, to the writers, it's their names put together and that's how we got Carver Edlund, because we're so smart.
Speaker B:All right, so of course he does.
Speaker B:He does.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we cut to Motel and there's a pile of books.
Speaker A:And we can see on the COVID of these books that these are all of the fucking episodes of this show.
Speaker A:The Wendigo.
Speaker A:We've got Scarecrow.
Speaker A:We got Route 666.
Speaker A:We've got, like, all the freaking books.
Speaker A:And Dean is reading Nightmare, the Bitters.
Speaker B:But so Dean is not just reading, but Dean is lounging across the bed with his, like, legs, like, just like propped up on an arm, reading what looks like romance books.
Speaker B:Like, and this works for a lot of aspects of me.
Speaker B:And I probably, like, I remember growing up, since my mom, you know, worked in a library, she would bring home, like, they always had the, like, read posters with celebrities on them.
Speaker B:And my mom brought the guy she thought were hot ones home.
Speaker B:So we had, like, Mel Gibson reading.
Speaker B:There is one with, like, the Highlander, Duncan McLeod.
Speaker B:Like, she like that Highlander.
Speaker B:So that was, like, hanging in her bathroom.
Speaker A:That's hilarious.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker B:So that's what they're.
Speaker B:They're doing.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:Anyways, so.
Speaker B:But apparently everything, including Dean's penis are in these books.
Speaker A:Yeah, this Dean's like, I was racist trucks to me, having sex is what he said in Full Frontal.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Sam's, like, researching about the books while Dean is reading them.
Speaker A:He's like, yeah, there's like, almost no circulation.
Speaker A:They started in 05.
Speaker A:And he's like, you know, it looks like the company may have gone bankrupt.
Speaker A:And the last one ends with Dean going to hell.
Speaker A:And so Dean and Sam are now going to make the epic mistake of reading comments on the Internet.
Speaker B:Never read the comments.
Speaker A:Never.
Speaker A:That's where they learned that there are, in addition to just other commentary on the series.
Speaker A:There are Sam girls and Dean girls and slash girls.
Speaker A:And this is true in real life, I think.
Speaker B:Oh, yes.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker A:And we're gonna.
Speaker B:We're about to get into how real.
Speaker B:How real it is.
Speaker B:So within the episode, Dean's just like, what the hell does Sam slash Dean means?
Speaker B:And he's like, Sam's like, together and Dean's together together.
Speaker B:And don't they know that we're brothers?
Speaker B:And he's like, yeah, we don't care.
Speaker B:But so, because people who write fanfic, you guys are sick fucks.
Speaker B:And I have some numbers to back up how sick you fucks are.
Speaker B:So this is our lore for this evening.
Speaker B:We're going to talk about some Fan fiction.
Speaker B:All right, so we're gonna.
Speaker B:We are gonna talk about some numbers and I'm just going to pull some stats.
Speaker B:And the stats that we're going to talk about, I've limited to archive of our own, aka AO3.
Speaker B:That is a fan run repo for fanfic.
Speaker B:They just happen to like, really like data too.
Speaker B:They've already pulled a lot of these numbers for me.
Speaker B:So thank you guys.
Speaker B:You're awesome.
Speaker B:But also the people who are on this thing, y' all are fucking crazy.
Speaker B:There are.
Speaker B:There's obviously a lot of other fans.
Speaker A:So there's a Ven.
Speaker A:There's a Venn diagram out there somewhere that has to do with fans of fan fiction and fans of data analysis is what you're telling me.
Speaker B:I made a spreadsheet.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Just saying.
Speaker A:Okay, go ahead.
Speaker B:So, I mean, this is also only something that I would just be like.
Speaker B:I need to understand how these numbers add up.
Speaker B: in: Speaker B:Basically the top.
Speaker B:They did the number.
Speaker B:Top numbers of works, right?
Speaker B: o I have the numbers prior to: Speaker B:Supernatural was number three in terms of fandoms.
Speaker B: Prior to: Speaker B:So that's just on this fan fiction site.
Speaker B:This is not including any of the others.
Speaker B:Just on that.
Speaker B:And that was.
Speaker B:Prior to 21, over 200,000 stories about supernatural.
Speaker B:Then just last year, 24,900 additional stories were added.
Speaker B:All right, so the ship tags, Right?
Speaker B:So we're talking about who we are shipping together.
Speaker B: in: Speaker A:You tell me.
Speaker A:It's Sam and Dean together.
Speaker B:No, it's Castiel and Dean.
Speaker A:See, I've heard that thing and I don't.
Speaker B:But this is crazy.
Speaker B:Like, of all the.
Speaker A:This is.
Speaker B:Of all the fandoms, this is Marvel Potter, the.
Speaker B:What is the Korean boy band bts.
Speaker B:Like they've got a.
Speaker B:A weird.
Speaker B:Not a weird, but they have.
Speaker A:They have a dedicated fan base.
Speaker B:They are dedicated and they're.
Speaker B:You ladies are nasty.
Speaker B:Okay, so.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:So Castell and Dean were tagged in 87,682 stories.
Speaker B:Dean and Sam was the third.
Speaker B:I think they were third most.
Speaker B:No, they were.
Speaker B:They're way down the bottom, I think.
Speaker B:Not the bottom, but kind of down low.
Speaker B:And they were 20.
Speaker B:There was 27,630 about those two.
Speaker B:All right, that is a lot.
Speaker B:That Is.
Speaker B:And not.
Speaker B:You know, that does not necessarily mean they're fucking in each of those, but they.
Speaker B:They're probably fucking.
Speaker B:Okay, so the most.
Speaker A:Y' all realize.
Speaker A:Y' all realize that siblings shouldn't be fucking, right?
Speaker B:Well, we're gonna get to.
Speaker B:We're gonna get to this.
Speaker B:All right, so.
Speaker B:So for character tags on AO3, Dean is the most popular character of all the fandoms.
Speaker B:All the things.
Speaker B:He's had 171,999.
Speaker B:Seven stories written about him.
Speaker B:Well, you know, it was interesting.
Speaker B:I was on IMD Pro today, and they have, like, a star ranking, and that's based on, like, comments and, like, things are in the news and, like, things.
Speaker B:Jensen Ackles is 64.
Speaker A:It's pretty big.
Speaker B:That's, like, really high up.
Speaker B:Like, he's much higher than Jared Padalecki.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker A:I'm honestly not surprised, though, with just, like, the type of work.
Speaker B:Well, with the boys coming out, he just had his penis out, you know.
Speaker B:So anyway, so Dean is like the most popular, right?
Speaker B:And Sam wasn't bad.
Speaker B:He's had 100, about 137,000.
Speaker B:And Cass had, like, 113.
Speaker B:All right, so let's talk about some of the tags on these stories.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:So these are things that people thought about after, like, I've written this thing and I'm going to upload it, and I'm going.
Speaker B:I'm going to associate the story with a thing purposely by either clicking a button and tagging it or writing it.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:So one of the things that wanted to come when we were talking about the Sam and Dean thing, that slash, there actually is a term for that, and that is wincest.
Speaker B:So it's not incest.
Speaker B:It's winsess.
Speaker A:Almost dropped on my microphone.
Speaker B:That tag has been used 11,000, 338 times.
Speaker A:This is upsetting information.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Oh, it's gonna get worse.
Speaker B:It's gonna get worse.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:I am not against a fantasy and some unrealistic shit, but this is.
Speaker A:That's just gross.
Speaker B:I told you this is some sick fuck shit.
Speaker B:All right, so the most popular tag of all.
Speaker B:That's not surprising.
Speaker B:That is Castiel slash Dean Winchester.
Speaker B:That's been tagged over 102,000 times.
Speaker B:All right, so now we're going to get into some specific ones.
Speaker B:So one of the highest tag that's not like a shipping or something for Supernatural is graphic depictions of violence.
Speaker B:And that had almost 20,000 tags.
Speaker B:But now we're going to get into some sexy time.
Speaker B:All Right.
Speaker B:So this is just for Supernatural, and that may include crossovers with other things.
Speaker B:But Supernatural story was involved.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Oral sex was tagged 15,603 times.
Speaker B:Anal sex 10,066.
Speaker B: Bottom Dean,: Speaker B:No.
Speaker A:I ask would he be.
Speaker B:Well, there is.
Speaker B:There's also a top Dean.
Speaker B:I don't have that number.
Speaker B:Bottom Dean was way more popular.
Speaker A:Popular.
Speaker A:That's what I'm saying.
Speaker A:That's why I figured you cited it.
Speaker A:And that's why I'm like, okay, man.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:I'm just.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:The next one, which is tagged a lot and is also in some of the more popular ones is rape slash non consensual.
Speaker B:That was tagged 7,648 times.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So now we're into rapey winces.
Speaker B:Rapey Wincest.
Speaker B:And the cassandine bang.
Speaker B:Getting rapey.
Speaker B:Like all sorts of.
Speaker A:Or other people.
Speaker B:Like, there's just one.
Speaker B:This is the last, like, kind of sec.
Speaker B:Like dirty one.
Speaker B:I'm going to talk about anal fingering.
Speaker B:And that was tagged 4,791 times.
Speaker B:And I want to go back to what I said at the beginning of this.
Speaker A:It's not just that.
Speaker A:This was in your story.
Speaker A:It was after you wrote your story.
Speaker A:You're like, I need to go tag this exactly.
Speaker A:Like, yes.
Speaker B:What do I think about the themes of the thing that I've written?
Speaker B:Anal fingering.
Speaker B:Of course.
Speaker B:Almost 5,000 times, somebody, a person thought that and clicked that.
Speaker A:Huh.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Huh.
Speaker B:And I'm not gonna yuck your yum.
Speaker B:Guys.
Speaker B:I'm not here to kink shame.
Speaker B:No, nothing wrong with a finger and a butt.
Speaker B:I'm just saying that's a weird theme to have in your story.
Speaker B:Just saying.
Speaker B:All right, so this next term is not.
Speaker B: It was only used: Speaker B:But I love it.
Speaker B:It's called Wingfake.
Speaker B:W I N G F I C. So, like angel wings.
Speaker B:So I'm assuming people are getting fucked with angel wings because it's fan fiction.
Speaker A:Whoa.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:Angel.
Speaker A:Angel fucking going on.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so these last tags, I think I just highly enjoyed.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B: At: Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker A:I mean, I probably could go in more than that.
Speaker B:At full.
Speaker B:4,282 Tags.
Speaker B:Bad parent John Winchester.
Speaker B:Like that one.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:1288.
Speaker B:Dean Winchester is bad at feelings.
Speaker B:Well, I mean, 692 times Dean Winchester needs a hug.
Speaker B:612 Times Dean Winchester wears panties.
Speaker A:Oh, yes.
Speaker B:Over 600 times Dean has worn panties.
Speaker B:And I do wonder.
Speaker A:I'd like to know the crossover between that one.
Speaker B:Yeah, I mean, I could get seriously, like, analytical on this data and break down, like, was it the same author who wrote Dean Winchester?
Speaker B:Like, are there 612, like, stories by the same person about Dean Winchester?
Speaker B:Brave panties.
Speaker B:Are there, like, 612, like, individual people who wanted to write about this?
Speaker A:And is it have a higher crossover number with anal fingering or with John being a bad parent and what.
Speaker A:Or with Castiel?
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:I mean, I'd like to know what the crossover is between some of these stories, though.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:What I also don't want to know, so please don't do the data on that.
Speaker B:But, I mean, it really is interesting.
Speaker B:Study into, you know, I mean, social, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker B:I just want to see how weird people are.
Speaker A:This is just people being weird.
Speaker B:This is.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:This is not for anything to further purpose, like, the world.
Speaker B:I just want to know.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker B:And the last tag that I'm going to talk about is only had 88.
Speaker B:And that was Dean Winchester actually deals with feelings.
Speaker A:Oh, yay.
Speaker A:Somebody had hopes there.
Speaker A:That's good.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:And so just in.
Speaker B:Obviously a lot more talk in this episode.
Speaker B:Just a couple of last things to leave you with on fan fiction.
Speaker B:Just some gems from AO3, the number one Supernatural story.
Speaker B:So this one has been bookmarked over 8,000 times.
Speaker B:It's had over, like, a million hits.
Speaker B:Over 36,000 kudos.
Speaker B:Was a fanfic written by Gabriel and Stand By Me called Twist and Shout.
Speaker B: astiel Novak in the summer of: Speaker B:Though the two both voice their relationship as one where saying goodbye is never a real truth, their story becomes fraught with a tragedy of circumstance in an era where homosexuality was especially vulnerable.
Speaker B:Twist and Shout is the story of the love transcending time, returning over and over in its many forms, as faithful as the sea.
Speaker A:Huh.
Speaker B:So somebody wrote a Vietnam love story about Cassandeen, and apparently it's real.
Speaker B:Everybody really liked it.
Speaker B:And it's got, like, 12 chapters.
Speaker B:All right, so a couple of quick ones just to end this one.
Speaker B:Yeah, this one will give you.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:This one's titled like a thrift store jacket.
Speaker B:Still good, but used by Tree Duncher for Tori Mikko.
Speaker B:A gift for Nicole under Slash Sil.
Speaker B:Who requested this?
Speaker B:Dean is natural bottom Loves to take it up the ass like no one's business.
Speaker B:Problem is he's hung like a horse.
Speaker B:Or at least big enough.
Speaker B:He pings every guy's secret size cake so Dean ends up topping even though that's not what he wants.
Speaker B:Enter Castiel.
Speaker B:Oh, I got right to the point.
Speaker B:I think that would be one where they were probably like anal fingering.
Speaker B:That is a theme.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:There was no beating around any bushes.
Speaker B:No place shade up.
Speaker B:This is what is happening here.
Speaker B:Dean Winchester has a giant cock.
Speaker B:Peanut butter pumpkin wedding cake by Sparse Parsley.
Speaker B:Dean is a waiter in a strip club to put his kid brother through school.
Speaker B:Cassiel is dragged to the club as a part of his sister Anna's bachelorette party.
Speaker B:Dean and Cass hit it off, but Dean thinks Cass is the one marrying Anna.
Speaker B:Hijinks can sue.
Speaker B:The last one I will leave you with.
Speaker B:I'm sorry.
Speaker B:I am so sorry.
Speaker B:Never ever, ever click on anything that has tags like infant infantabilism.
Speaker B:I don't know how to say that.
Speaker B:Diapers, bottles, baby Dean.
Speaker B:Love shmoop.
Speaker A:So Deed.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:Deed wakes up with the knowledge that he's been cursed by the witch he has been hunting.
Speaker B:And while he easily accepts the fact that he's in the hospital, he isn't.
Speaker B:So uptake for his physical changes.
Speaker B:Suddenly he's being adopted by two men who keep calling themselves Papa and Daddy.
Speaker B:And with bottles, baby carriers and diapers come the realization that he's been turned into an infant.
Speaker B:The curse will last one year.
Speaker B:And if after one year, Dean finds out that he truly hates a situation, then he'll transform it back into an adult.
Speaker B:No strings attached.
Speaker B:If he learns to like it.
Speaker B:Well, let's just say Sam and Cass won't have to worry about adoption anytime soon.
Speaker B:Problem is, Dean won't be able to convince the curse away.
Speaker B:Because it's going to be his heart that makes the final decision.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker B:Okay, okay, I'll leave you.
Speaker B:I can't.
Speaker B:I can't leave your brain there.
Speaker B:Crossover.
Speaker B:Crossover.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Crossover between Supernatural and Vampire Diaries.
Speaker B:The Supernatural Diaries.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker B:Sam and Dean are teenagers attending school at Mystic Falls High.
Speaker B:Dean is the hunter whose best friend is Stefan Salvatore.
Speaker A:No, that sounds awesome.
Speaker B:Elena just lost her parents and is head over heels for Dean.
Speaker B:Carolyn just wants a guy to pay attention to her.
Speaker B:Dean.
Speaker B:And Salvatore returns the Mystic Fall, stirring up trouble.
Speaker B:Bonnie uncovers the secrets of her ancestry, as does Dean with his.
Speaker B:The past threatens to come back to haunt them.
Speaker B:As they all prepare for the reawakening.
Speaker B:Matt Donovan is still Matt Donovan.
Speaker B:Vicky is still irrelevant.
Speaker B:Tyler is still Tyler.
Speaker B:And some secrets are better left buried underground.
Speaker B:The Winchester's past comes in knocking.
Speaker A:That sound there, awesome.
Speaker A:That would be fun.
Speaker A:I would watch that.
Speaker B:I would watch that.
Speaker B:I'd read that.
Speaker B:Let me go back and read that book.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker A:I'm still just reeling about Wincest.
Speaker A:I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker A:The fact that that was created as, like, a word that people.
Speaker B:It's a word.
Speaker B:It's a word.
Speaker B:I'm sure it's an urban dictionary.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's got its own page on Supernatural Wiki.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker B:Yeah, it's a. I mean, like, never mind.
Speaker A:I. I would hope that people that would be listening to the show would realize that that's up.
Speaker A:That's okay.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:Say winces.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker B:Also, y' all got a lot of time on your hands, right?
Speaker B:I applaud.
Speaker B:Like, I mean, there's some really good work on there.
Speaker B:And like, I. I love fan fiction.
Speaker B:I think it's great.
Speaker B:But sometimes it's also really funny.
Speaker B:Oh, man.
Speaker B:The work, like, the thing about.
Speaker B:Was it AO3?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I think on that one is one that had.
Speaker B:You can have the gifts in there.
Speaker B:So, like, there's all sorts of, like, pornographic gifts of Sam and Dean, like, with each other.
Speaker B:And that, like, keyboard is like photoshopping ship.
Speaker B:Like, I saw stuff that, like, I may need to clean my computer.
Speaker B:Like, it may need to.
Speaker B:Like, I may need to give it a bath.
Speaker B:It feels a little dirty.
Speaker A:Yikes.
Speaker A:I. I'm going to be confessional is that I. I want to be one of the people that can be really into fanfic.
Speaker A:And I do think I have a pretty good imagination.
Speaker A:But from other fandoms to this one, fanfic's just not my jam.
Speaker A:Is what I think I've learned for myself.
Speaker B:And that's just fine, right?
Speaker A:Not every.
Speaker B:But you know what?
Speaker B:For some people, it's a great outlet.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:And it's also like, I mean, as a writer, I understand, like, the joy of kind of having ready made characters.
Speaker B:Like, and so there is.
Speaker B:It gives you a little more freedom with your story.
Speaker B:And, like, you kind of can.
Speaker B:You can be a little, you know, like, it's a little.
Speaker B:A little freer, you know, because you're not.
Speaker B:You don't have that constraint.
Speaker B:But also, like, it gives you a constraint.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:So how do you operate within this universe?
Speaker B:So, yeah, I mean, I. I think it has a. I think it's a really great creative outlet and Sometimes it inspires things like Twilight.
Speaker B:Oh,.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:So our brothers have decided they need to go find the author of this book, but he wrote under a pen name, so they're gonna go visit the publisher, who is Sarah Siege, played by Keegan Connor.
Speaker A:Tracy has very fucking cool hair.
Speaker B:She does.
Speaker B:And so I was looking at her hair, which one I knew that you would love because.
Speaker B:Sort of similar to yours.
Speaker A:I'm a fan of having a streak in my hair.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, I'm into that.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So her name was actually a combination from the writers.
Speaker A:Julius.
Speaker A:Yeah, I caught that when you were saying that.
Speaker A:That's awesome.
Speaker B:Did you get her pedigree?
Speaker A:So Keegan Connor, Tracy.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:She was the blue fairy in Once Upon a Time.
Speaker A:She has Professor Lipson and magicians.
Speaker A: a bunch of other things from V: Speaker A:She's a voice in the animated movie Descendants.
Speaker A:She was Final Destination 2 and a bunch of other stuff.
Speaker A:Stuff.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:She's.
Speaker B:She's a badass bitch, and she's adorable.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:She's directing, like, she's got, like, this whole new, like, things in the production.
Speaker B:She also, like, wrote a children's book.
Speaker B:Like, it was called this is a Job for Mommy.
Speaker B:I don't know about children stories, but she was also writing a book called A Kegellicious Cookbook, bringing together the food and stories she loves.
Speaker B:I couldn't find if that happened.
Speaker B:The Keeganicious.com Tom got a 44 redirect.
Speaker A:So maybe.
Speaker B:Maybe it wasn't that Keeganlicious, but that seems to be her brand, because we see it a lot on her ig.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker A:But yeah.
Speaker B:I mean, magicians, like.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And then once.
Speaker B:I keep trying to.
Speaker B:I need to try Once Upon a Time again.
Speaker B:I know.
Speaker B:I know.
Speaker A:I like that.
Speaker A:I enjoyed it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:She's super cool.
Speaker B:I like.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So our brothers are there talking to Sarah Siegel or Sarah Siege.
Speaker A:Excuse me.
Speaker A:Trying to.
Speaker A:Basically, they're playing off that they are writers wanted to write about the series, and they just want to talk to her about how underappreciated it was.
Speaker A:And she's hopeful that if they write a good enough article, they can start publishing again.
Speaker A:But she's just, like, totally fangirling about Sam and Dean, the characters, which is really kind of funny to watch because the brothers are extremely uncomfortable about this.
Speaker A:And she makes a reference about how if only real men were so open and in touch with their feelings, which is hilarious, because as we all know, we talk about how unopened and Untouched their feelings.
Speaker A:These brothers are well.
Speaker B:And I think also we're also getting like, it's really digging in, like, how much detail are in these books that are like, about their lives?
Speaker B:They're like, because even through this, like, we learn canon about the.
Speaker B:About the boys.
Speaker B:Like, it just like, is like, oh, shit, so much stuff is going to come out of this.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:But so, like, they have to be like, hey, like, we're fanboys too.
Speaker B:Like, and so we ended up learning all sorts of stuff.
Speaker B:Like, that's about the car.
Speaker B:Like, so we learned Sam's LSAT score, right?
Speaker A:And we get Dean's two favorite songs.
Speaker B:Yeah, I'm not.
Speaker A:I'm leaving that alone.
Speaker A:Anyways, so they pass her test and they really, really want to know Carver's first name.
Speaker A:And she's like, she doesn't want to tell him at first.
Speaker A:She's like, oh, compares him to Sandra.
Speaker A:And they're like, look at our tattoos.
Speaker A:So they show their chest tattoos, and so she shows hers.
Speaker A:And that's what finally convinces her to give his name, Chuck Shirley.
Speaker B:So it obviously meta, meta, meta, right?
Speaker B:So, like, I think at this point, Sarah's like, oh, be so like the writer.
Speaker B:Like, it'd be so funny.
Speaker B:Like, we'll made it when people start getting like, our stuff tattooed.
Speaker B:And now they're like, so many supernatural tattoos, but also like, anything tattooed.
Speaker A:And he's told me stories.
Speaker A:I'm like, oh, yeah, tattoo, yeah.
Speaker B:And just.
Speaker B:And just also the way the reveal, you know, it's like we do like, the shirt open and like, Sam's like, oh, look at my shirt.
Speaker B:And Dean's like, fine, whatever, I'll show it.
Speaker B:And then she just like starts unzipping her pants.
Speaker B:And it's just like, like, her, like her acting on this.
Speaker B:Like, she wanted to eat that.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:I mean, I did too, because that was.
Speaker B:That was hot.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:And so she's just like, yep, he's Chuck Shirley.
Speaker B:Whatever.
Speaker B:So go find him.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we cut to a guy and wearing a robe, eating old pizza, drinking beer, and has a printer running, writing about Sam and Dean, about them approaching the house.
Speaker A:And then you can hear him narrating it.
Speaker A:It.
Speaker B:This is what the creative process looks like.
Speaker B:A picture of my house, like last week after I've been home for like a day.
Speaker B:And I was like, it was just like papers, like all the way across it.
Speaker A:And Sam and Dean ring the doorbell and introduce themselves as the Sam and Dean he's been writing about.
Speaker B:Well, he's also like, I think we Also get like this trope.
Speaker B:Like is it.
Speaker B:Is it a trope?
Speaker B:I don't know, like the.
Speaker B:This time traveling thing.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Where as he's narrating things are happening in real time.
Speaker B:So it's like we're gonna cover the doorbell.
Speaker B:And then like they read the doorbell.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So he assumes though that they're.
Speaker A:That they are just super fans and tell them to get a life and tries to run them off.
Speaker A:And Dean's like, yeah, we have a life.
Speaker A:You've been using.
Speaker A:You've been using it to write your books.
Speaker A:And pushes in the door.
Speaker A:And Chuck doesn't seem amused.
Speaker A:He does not buy into this.
Speaker A:He thinks I don't.
Speaker A:He doesn't believe them.
Speaker A:But I feel like you'd.
Speaker A:A little bit.
Speaker A:Like I just literally wrote somebody was gonna ring my doorbell and they ring my doorbell.
Speaker A:But anyways, he's.
Speaker A:He's pushing off.
Speaker A:He didn't believe them and saying that he doesn't.
Speaker A:You know, he acts like he's kind of scared of them.
Speaker A:And he's like, no, my books are fictional.
Speaker A:That's it.
Speaker A:So Sam and didn't show him the trunk.
Speaker B:And we get a nice deep looking trunk.
Speaker B:It's been a while.
Speaker B:They're just like, yeah, we're gonna get.
Speaker B:We're just gonna pan over this.
Speaker B:Look.
Speaker B:Look at my guns.
Speaker B:Look at how deep these things are.
Speaker A:Oh yeah.
Speaker A:Oh yeah.
Speaker A:And with rock salt IDs and everything.
Speaker A:And he just thinks they're number one fan still.
Speaker A:And Sam asks how he knows or Sam asked if he knows about angels, Liliths and seal and the seals.
Speaker A:And Chuck's like, well, how do you know?
Speaker A:And he's like, I wrote about it, but those books never came out.
Speaker A:So once again, Dean reintroduces them with the last name Winchester.
Speaker A:And that's when Chuck kind of turns a little bit because apparently he knew in his head that was their last name.
Speaker A:But he had never written the last name or told anybody.
Speaker B:Gasp.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:So yeah, so.
Speaker B:But now.
Speaker B:Now Chuck doesn't think that they're crazy.
Speaker B:They think he's crazy.
Speaker A:Yeah, I think he's hallucinating.
Speaker A:So that's, you know, honestly, if you like fair.
Speaker B:Yeah, I mean I thought like I hallucinated the CDC coming to my hotel room last week.
Speaker B:And I'm still not sure that didn't happen happen.
Speaker B:It is quite possible the CDC came to my hotel room while it was a fever haze.
Speaker B:And I would believe it and same thing in Chuck state.
Speaker B:Yeah, maybe this is.
Speaker B:I'm turning into Vonnegut.
Speaker A:So but then he decides, no, I'm not hallucinating.
Speaker A:I'm just a God.
Speaker A:I'm a cruel one.
Speaker A:But I'm a God.
Speaker A:But I'm cruel to put you through all of this.
Speaker A:So it's true.
Speaker A:All for literary symmetry.
Speaker A:Well, it's really funny lines in here.
Speaker B:Yeah, the literary symmetry line was good.
Speaker B:Just like.
Speaker B:And, like, having.
Speaker B:Like, did you have to live through bugs?
Speaker B:Did you have to live through the ship?
Speaker B:And it's like, man, like, yeah.
Speaker B:He's just like, I'm sorry you had to live through, like, the bad writing.
Speaker B:I'm like, yeah.
Speaker B:Which is also, like, those, like, everyone knows, like, those are the least favorite episodes of, like, Cryptic.
Speaker B:And then, like.
Speaker B:Like, like, yeah, so.
Speaker A:So Sam and Nina, like, no, no, no, you're not a fucking God.
Speaker A:You're just psychic.
Speaker A:And they're like, what are you writing now?
Speaker A:And he's like, no, it's real weird.
Speaker A:It's real fucking weird.
Speaker A:And compares it to Vonnegut, and he's like, well, which is.
Speaker A:Which Vonnegut are you talking about?
Speaker A:And Dean actually knows references.
Speaker A:That's good.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So we already had Dean, like, lying, like, this is a fangirl episode.
Speaker B:We already had Dean, like, lying across a bed reading books.
Speaker B:Now we're going to have Dean knowing the difference between Slaughterhouse 5 and Cat's Cradle.
Speaker B:What?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:My nipples are so hard right now.
Speaker B:Just like, oh, my God.
Speaker B:Like, literary Dean who.
Speaker B:Yeah, all right, go on.
Speaker A:I've never read Vonnegut anyways.
Speaker B:You didn't read Slaughterhouse Five?
Speaker A:Nope.
Speaker B:You should read Slaughterhouse Five at least.
Speaker A:So Chuck's like, oh, no, no, it's Kilgore.
Speaker A:I wrote myself into it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So Kilgor Trout.
Speaker B:Other reference to a different Kurt Vonnegut book.
Speaker B:But anyways, so in that book, he's confronted by his own characters and is a thing.
Speaker B:And, yeah, don't read that book.
Speaker A:But it adds to a level of meta here.
Speaker A:It's pretty entertaining.
Speaker A:So there we go.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker B:Round and rounded we go.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:At the Laundromat, Sam is doing laundry while Dean reads about Sam doing laundry.
Speaker A:And Sam is not amused at all by this.
Speaker B:It's also very creepy.
Speaker A:It's real creepy.
Speaker A:But I do like his brooding and pensive shoulders.
Speaker B:And I also thought.
Speaker B:I liked when Dean was like, you just thought I was a dick.
Speaker B:And then there's some really great facial expressions from Jared.
Speaker B:Or he's just like, yeah, that works out.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, Chuck's.
Speaker A:Chuck's.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:And then we see Chuck dreaming at his computer about Sam having.
Speaker A:Getting ready to have sexy time with.
Speaker B:The demon with white eyes.
Speaker B:Oh, no, of course.
Speaker B:Like, yeah, so.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:So that generally implies that it's Lilith, but also they use those white eyes for Pam.
Speaker B:So it's kind of like.
Speaker B:That's weird.
Speaker A:But, yeah, but it was a little.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so we're getting also kind of like these ins and outs of Chuck's house.
Speaker B:And, like, on the wall, you can actually see frame copies from the COVID of the real Supernatural comics.
Speaker B:Like, so not even the ones that were on, like, the book covers, which were fake, but the actual comics are now, like, that are in the world or on their wall.
Speaker A:Like, that's crazy.
Speaker A:Meta, meta, meta.
Speaker A:All right, so now we've got.
Speaker A:Sam and Dean have to go back to see Chuck again.
Speaker A:He's like, I wrote another chapter and Lilith is going to come for Sam tonight, and it's going to be a fiery demonic passion.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And Dean's like, ew.
Speaker B:Lilith's a little girl.
Speaker A:Which is fair because that's always seen Lilith recently.
Speaker A:So he's like, no, now she's a dental hygienist from Indiana.
Speaker A:And Dean's like, so what do we do?
Speaker A:And Dean's like, I don't know.
Speaker A:I hadn't.
Speaker A:Hasn't come to me yet.
Speaker A:I just know this.
Speaker A:Like, my process is I get a really bad headache, I drink a lot, fall asleep, I dream, and then it just flows out of me when I wake up.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:I also understand that our existing process.
Speaker B:I drink a lot, then I pass out.
Speaker B:That I do things.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker B:That's how it goes.
Speaker B:All right, so.
Speaker A:So the brothers are driving.
Speaker A:Sam's like, yeah, this is impossible.
Speaker A:You know, there's.
Speaker A:I don't believe that this is going to happen.
Speaker A:Running is just really not, you know, not.
Speaker A:I'm not ready, you know, we're not ready to face Lilith is Dean's take.
Speaker A:So he's trying to get out of town, but guess what?
Speaker A:There's a road blockade and they can't leave town.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker B:And so they can't get out of town.
Speaker B:Which I'm just like, wait, like, is there actually a town like, that you can't.
Speaker B:Like, unless you're on an island.
Speaker B:Like, if you're an island, I get it.
Speaker B:But, like, there's just like, one road in and out, like, in the river just completely.
Speaker B:Like, there's.
Speaker B:What the fuck?
Speaker B:Like, are you at the ocean?
Speaker B:Like, where are you?
Speaker B:So anyways.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker A:So I have to say.
Speaker A:But now They're.
Speaker B:Yeah, it was the same.
Speaker B:I've been reading through the.
Speaker B:The manuscript and there's a couple of things that they're just like.
Speaker A:Hey.
Speaker B:Like, Dean's like, you're.
Speaker B:You're going to get an accident with a minivan and you're going to like, Band Aids with flowers over your heads.
Speaker B:And they're just like, what?
Speaker B:So that becomes a trope too.
Speaker B:So now they're at a diner and Dean's just like, well, we're just going.
Speaker A:To do all Kripke's Hollow Diner, actually.
Speaker A:So that's where they're at.
Speaker A:And it's.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Dean's like, we just can't get in any fights because apparently they write that they're gonna get in a fight.
Speaker A:Sam's not allowed to do any research.
Speaker A:Dean can't get a bacon cheeseburger.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And of course, that's the special diner,.
Speaker B:According to Oprah's best friend, Oprah's girlfriend, or Oprah's girlfriend said it was the best bacon cheeseburger in the country.
Speaker B:So Gail.
Speaker B:Gail recommended this.
Speaker B:And Dean orders a tofu burger.
Speaker B:And he's just like, yeah, like, this tofu burger is great.
Speaker B:And then she's like, nah.
Speaker A:Like, oops.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And then she takes it away from him, which is like, that's illegal, man.
Speaker B:Like, you can't just, like, take the bite out of somebody.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And like, why would you take it back?
Speaker B:What kind of waitress are you?
Speaker B:Like, who takes food out of somebody's hands?
Speaker B:Like, this is not a good restaurant.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:So Sam just thinks this whole thing's ridiculous, though.
Speaker A:He's like, I'd never hook up with Lilith.
Speaker A:This is stupid.
Speaker A:And Dean's like, maybe it's not that stupid.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:And Sam's like, no, we've got to get the job.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because Sam's like, no, this is our chance to get.
Speaker A:Get her back.
Speaker A:Get on her.
Speaker A:Finally.
Speaker A:We're ahead of her this time.
Speaker A:And they're just trying really, really, really hard not to fight.
Speaker A:It's very awkward.
Speaker A:Very awkward.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:So there we go.
Speaker B:So they're gonna check into a skeevy pink motel because it's gonna be in the red motel.
Speaker B:This motel is fucking awesome.
Speaker A:Sketch and awesome.
Speaker B:The outside is sketch.
Speaker B:The inside is fucking spectacular.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:And yeah.
Speaker A:So Dean's placing hex bags around the room to Lilith proof it and reminds him he's not allowed to research.
Speaker A:He's welcome to use the Magic Fingers or watch Casa Erotica on Pay Per View.
Speaker A:He takes his laptop away.
Speaker B:And he.
Speaker A:Drives off because he's gonna go park baby.
Speaker A:So that nothing can happen to it is his mindset.
Speaker A:And because he's supposed to be driving around according to the story.
Speaker A:Story.
Speaker B:That's right.
Speaker B:So as he dries off, the motel sign fritzes.
Speaker B:And then it becomes red motel.
Speaker B:Chuck was right.
Speaker A:So he parked Impala in a random neighborhood, though.
Speaker A:And this is real weird.
Speaker A:Like, where the.
Speaker A:Did you just park your car?
Speaker A:It's not even a parking lot.
Speaker B:Why didn't.
Speaker B:Like, does this town not have a parking garage?
Speaker A:I mean, or like, I don't know, find, like the local YMCA parking lot.
Speaker A:I don't know what the fuck.
Speaker A:Go to library.
Speaker A:Like Walmart.
Speaker A:That's where everybody goes to park their car.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:But there's like this really weird, like, half on the grass, half on gravel in the middle of a neighborhood parking.
Speaker A:Very bizarre or Canadian shit.
Speaker A:They not know what to do.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:Anyways, it was just weird.
Speaker A:And as soon as he starts walking away from it, two guys with crowbars, conveniently in broad daylight, are trying to.
Speaker B:Pretty much Just like, they might as well have been in, like, the Hamburglar outfit.
Speaker A:Just like it.
Speaker B:We're here to bring break into a car.
Speaker B:Like, if I just saw that child walking down the street, I'd be like, burglar.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And as he turns around to go back and confront them, he gets hit by a minivan.
Speaker A:Which, by the way, reminded me a lot of my minivan.
Speaker A:So I had a minivan for a minute.
Speaker A:I was like, oh, looks like I.
Speaker B:Wrecked my mother's minivan.
Speaker B:And I was supposed to be recycling things, and instead I was on the south side of San Antonio with a bunch of like, people I wasn't supposed to be hanging out with.
Speaker B:None of them were in high school.
Speaker B:They were something that probably at this point would be affiliated with the gang.
Speaker B:But so, yeah, they probably had a bunch of drugs in them.
Speaker B:And yeah, I rear ended somebody.
Speaker B:Then I had to make that phone call.
Speaker A:Oops.
Speaker A:Yeah, my.
Speaker A:My van.
Speaker A:Mine was my mom's and it became mine after just over.
Speaker A:Like at one point I had a bad run of luck with cars and worked out timing wise.
Speaker A:I took that car.
Speaker A:I love my minivan.
Speaker A:It was.
Speaker A:It was that like that GMC Safari, like those big minivans from the early 90s.
Speaker A:They were fucking rad.
Speaker A:And that's what this was that hit him.
Speaker A:I was like, fuck, yeah, it was black.
Speaker A:I love that thing.
Speaker B:My band's gonna get in it.
Speaker B:Did you have to drive the band around everywhere.
Speaker A:No, it was pre band.
Speaker A:It was pre band.
Speaker A:But I did.
Speaker A:I was like the scoop everybody up and get them to and fro the bar.
Speaker A:Which is probably questionable too, but that's.
Speaker B:You know, the car got designated driver.
Speaker B:I didn't drink at all.
Speaker A:It got thrown a lot.
Speaker A:It got thrown up in a long.
Speaker B:I'm just saying, they're classy bitches.
Speaker A:Not always by me.
Speaker A:Like, only like once by me.
Speaker B:But still, I'm just like.
Speaker B:Like, how many of your cars have I thrown up it.
Speaker B:Oh, my God.
Speaker B:Okay, so the motel has like, the bull.
Speaker B:Like, did you see the screen?
Speaker B:There's like bulls and matadors, like, in like the paper of screen, like, divider.
Speaker B:And I know they only have like three motel set, so they just switch these things out, but I just.
Speaker B:I love this one.
Speaker B:It was so good.
Speaker B:And there's this little bull on the wall, and he's like, pink and he's like, oh.
Speaker A:So Chuck shows up at the motel to talk to Sam.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:And Sam is like, hey, Hey.
Speaker A:I say, chuck.
Speaker A:He's like, how much do you know about me?
Speaker A:And this is when we find out that basically Chuck knows about the demon blood that Sam is drinking.
Speaker A:But he hasn't written about it because he didn't want the character to be unsympathetic.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:And so, you know, and this is.
Speaker B:I think we've talked about this issue at least with me before, where, you know, it's like, the show is like, this is disgusting.
Speaker B:It's not right.
Speaker B:You're drinking blood is a horrible, horrible thing.
Speaker B:And I'm like, is it that bad?
Speaker B:Like, I.
Speaker B:You could be doing worse shit.
Speaker B:Like, I don't know.
Speaker B:You're not killing anybody.
Speaker A:Yeah, but it's so.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:But so.
Speaker B:But yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Speaker A:And the fact that he's keeping a secret means that he knows if there's something questionable about.
Speaker B:About it.
Speaker B:I just don't think it's questionable to me.
Speaker B:It's just like, why are you being guilty about this shit?
Speaker B:Just be like, yeah, I get some powers out of drinking some fucking demon blood.
Speaker B:Like, whatever.
Speaker B:Chuck is like, going into like, the Deep Brothers like crap again, right?
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker B:Or Sam's like, dean's a weak sauce.
Speaker B:He can't save the world.
Speaker B:I have to save the apocalypse.
Speaker A:And I have to drink all.
Speaker A:I have to drink all this demon blood so that I can do it.
Speaker A:And Chuck's like, but that's not what the angel said.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:And Sam's like.
Speaker A:And I don't really believe them.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Chester, just like, do you really, like.
Speaker B:I think you kind of like this.
Speaker B:I think this may be an addiction.
Speaker B:And this is, I think, where we're starting to get this idea that this is beyond just getting evil.
Speaker B:Like, he's kind of getting hooked on this.
Speaker B:He's like, nah, I need it.
Speaker B:I gotta do it more.
Speaker A:Well, it's also like a weird power hook on something.
Speaker A:Even if it's not a chemical thing.
Speaker A:It could be a power thing too.
Speaker A:Or like a. Yeah, but whatever.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And you being.
Speaker B:I mean, the sister.
Speaker B:Like the lineage of sister you are.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:So from the younger brother to old, he's using that as an excuse for Chuck.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:He's just like, dean is always looked out for me, and I'm returning the favor.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And Chuck's like, I think that's a front.
Speaker B:But it sounds like a logical thing.
Speaker B:But it also sounds to me like what a whiny, like, younger sibling would do to be like, I just want to be in charge.
Speaker B:And I'm going to just say, like, use that as an excuse.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Either way, we can.
Speaker A:So Chuck gives a pretty non answer.
Speaker A:He doesn't really want to, like, get into too far about what this.
Speaker A:Where the story's going.
Speaker A:Because he doesn't really.
Speaker A:I don't think.
Speaker A:I mean, they imply that he doesn't really know at this point where the story's going either.
Speaker A:So he's kind of just.
Speaker A:Just morally pontificating with Sam about this and then.
Speaker A:But keeping that secret.
Speaker A:But I also wonder if, like, he's got these visions.
Speaker A:He's keeping certain things secret.
Speaker A:Then does.
Speaker A:Is that really all he knows?
Speaker A:Because wouldn't he put it in there if he didn't know where it was going?
Speaker A:Anyways, whatever.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:There's a lot of head hurting stuff in here.
Speaker B:We're gonna go to Dean.
Speaker B:And he's waking up.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And he's waking up and he's seeing these stars, which was also one of the things that the book predicted.
Speaker A:But they're really just badass star earrings that this chick has.
Speaker B:I thought you would want those.
Speaker B:I was like, yeah, like, they look kind of like something like Jim and the holograms would wear.
Speaker A:Anyways.
Speaker A:And this woman's apologizing profusely as she.
Speaker A:For her little girl playing doctor and putting flowery band aids all over Dean's face.
Speaker A:And then he's on, of course.
Speaker A:And then he sees that baby's back window is.
Speaker A:Is smashed out.
Speaker A:Boo.
Speaker A:Which was also part of the story because it was saying that they are his.
Speaker A:He would have a tarp flapping in the wind.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:One.
Speaker B:Boo.
Speaker B:Somebody hurt baby.
Speaker B:Two, like, yeah, also, like, everybody just like, wandered off now, like Dean, they just let the guy who just got hit by a car get up, walk away.
Speaker B:The woman who just committed the hit and run is just going to get back the car, their daughter, and drive off.
Speaker B:Like, there's no police report.
Speaker B:Like, nobody's going to be witness.
Speaker B:They're not going to take him to a hospital.
Speaker B:But he's fine.
Speaker B:He was just unconscious in the middle of the road.
Speaker A:No biggie.
Speaker A:No biggie.
Speaker A:Don't.
Speaker A:Don't worry about it.
Speaker B:No, Nothing to see here.
Speaker B:Move on.
Speaker A:So, yeah, so Chuck's back at his house and Dean is waiting for him.
Speaker A:And Chuck tells Dean that he looks terrible.
Speaker A:That was really funny.
Speaker A:And so anyways, Dean's pissed.
Speaker A:He's like.
Speaker A:He's convinced that Chuck knows something more and grabs him.
Speaker A:And then Castiel appears and tells Dean to let him go because this man is to be protected.
Speaker A:He's a prophet of the Lord.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:Prophet of the Lord?
Speaker A:WTF did you.
Speaker B:Did you know that?
Speaker B:Did you see that coming?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:Well, I mean, kind of.
Speaker A:I mean, don't get me wrong.
Speaker A:Like, I knew there was some tie to God.
Speaker B:God with Chuck, but you didn't know he was a prophet.
Speaker B:Okay, cool.
Speaker A:Not precisely.
Speaker A:I mean, it would be like something with a messenger tied to God.
Speaker A:That's what.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:But anyways.
Speaker A:All right, so Chuck recognizes Castiel from the books.
Speaker A:When.
Speaker A:And Castiel's like, oh, yeah, it's an honor to meet you.
Speaker A:And it's all weird now.
Speaker A:Like, this is awkward as.
Speaker A:And I don't know, it's just.
Speaker A:And Dean's pissed.
Speaker A:He's like, did you know about this?
Speaker A:And Chuck's like, well, no.
Speaker A:I mean, I dreamt about it, but I just thought it was preposterous and arrogant to tell people that I'm a prophet.
Speaker A:So he called it M. Night.
Speaker A:M. Night level douchiness, which I was deeply amused by.
Speaker B:Yes, that was.
Speaker B:That was quite clever.
Speaker B:Quite, quite clever.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:And then we find out that these are going to be the new.
Speaker B:Basically, the new gospel.
Speaker B:This is the Winchester gospel.
Speaker A:Winchester Gospel.
Speaker A:So it's the new New Testament, apparently.
Speaker A:Yeehaw.
Speaker B:I mean, if you think about it, you know, we are basically experiencing a religion, a religious apocalypse.
Speaker B:Like, it seems like.
Speaker A:Yeah, it Sounds.
Speaker A:Sounds accurate.
Speaker A:And Dean's another funny line in the scene.
Speaker A:I thought that was like Dean's like him.
Speaker A:Really?
Speaker A:And Castell said he should have seen Luke.
Speaker B:Yeah, I mean you have to remember too like the people who are following like if Jesus Christ, you know, know people who are following him around were basically people who are following like a man in a desert around.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like so I. I know people who follow people around in the desert.
Speaker B:So yeah, I could see Luke being kind of.
Speaker B:Probably kind of weirdo.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we got Dean driving back and Castell's like, look, what's written can't be unwritten.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And so you can't necessarily stop what might be happening with Sam and Lilith.
Speaker A:So Dean's like, well shit, I better get back to the fucking motel.
Speaker A:And as he's pulling in, he sees that the sign says Red after all.
Speaker A:And he's like, tells.
Speaker A:He's like nope, we need to get out of here.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:And all the hex bags are gone.
Speaker A:He notices.
Speaker A:And Dean is like, no, I'm gonna tell you all about Chuck.
Speaker A:And Sam's like, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna face Lilith.
Speaker A:I don't care.
Speaker B:Yeah, I burnt all the hex bags so that she could, you know, she can find me.
Speaker B:And so Dean's like, yeah, you know, Chuck's a prophet.
Speaker B:And Sam's like, I'm not gonna go anywhere.
Speaker B:And then Sam's like, I hate this term.
Speaker B:He's just like, you think I'm gonna go dark side?
Speaker B:And I'm like, what the fuck is that?
Speaker B:Like, I don't think that's a concern.
Speaker B:I think the concern is like, we just don't know what you're doing.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:But he still.
Speaker B:Dean doesn't know everything.
Speaker B:And we're getting this still like Sam is still.
Speaker B:Still lying.
Speaker B:Still lying up.
Speaker A:And yeah, so.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:But Dean's like, yeah, yeah, I think you're new dark side.
Speaker A:So anyways, Dean's like, I know you're up to something you could tear after you saw.
Speaker A:He saw him tear Alistair apart.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:And that he knows that his psychic stuff is getting stronger, but we don't know how or why.
Speaker A:So Dean's like, no, I'm packing my.
Speaker A:Let's go.
Speaker A:And Dean asked Sam if he's coming or not and Sam says no.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker A:But now Dean's really not going to leave either because he can't leave his brother.
Speaker A:So he goes to the vending machine like you do and says a prayer like you do at the motel.
Speaker A:Vending machine.
Speaker A:You know, say a little prayer there sometimes.
Speaker B:Anyways, yeah, they're just praying that you actually get the soda to come down.
Speaker B:But I do love a motel vending machine.
Speaker B:I don't know why I think they're great.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:So when he starts praying, Cass flaps in.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:And he says that prayers are a good.
Speaker A:Are a sign of faith.
Speaker A:And that's a good thing.
Speaker A:Well, that was interesting.
Speaker A:Because it is interesting.
Speaker B:I'm just gonna say this is also,.
Speaker A:Like, I would say.
Speaker A:I think I thought that was interesting.
Speaker A:It's kind of a turn for Dean, but anyways.
Speaker B:Yeah, no, it's a turn for Dean, but also, I think it may be because I was reading about so much of the Cass and Dean fanfic, but now, like, I'm watching the interactions between.
Speaker B:Between.
Speaker B:Between Cass and Teen, like, in a different way, and I'm like, huh, this could all be like.
Speaker B:This is all very, very, like, intimate.
Speaker B:So cast is just like, look, man, I can't interfere with this prophecy.
Speaker B:And Dean's like, man, I do for you.
Speaker B:Like, I've done so much for you and I never asked for anything.
Speaker B:Which is like something like a bitch ass boyfriend says to his girl friends, like, all the time, like, you know,.
Speaker A:Yeah, screw you, your mission, and God help me, I'm not going to help you.
Speaker A:So, But.
Speaker A:And you get.
Speaker A:Now Castiel thinks about it and stops Dean from leaving and gives him like, a tidbit of information that he didn't have before.
Speaker B:Maybe he drops a heavy hit on his head.
Speaker A:Yeah, Basically that in.
Speaker A:Our archangels are tied to prophets.
Speaker A:Protect them.
Speaker A:So maybe if they.
Speaker B:If anything happens.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:So if anything happens to a prophet, an archangel is probably going to do.
Speaker B:Show up and do something.
Speaker A:The wrath of Heaven, as they call it.
Speaker A:The wrath of Heaven.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so this is also one of those where I'm like, oh, yeah.
Speaker B:I'm looking at this in a different way because Dean's like, oh, yeah.
Speaker B:So if we're the prophets in the same room, room, like, the power of heaven come down and.
Speaker B:And Cass is all, you know, just so you understand why I can't help wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Speaker B:Like there's.
Speaker B:There's a whole bunch of winking going on there.
Speaker B:I'm like, oh, okay.
Speaker B:I see something different now.
Speaker B:Like, I mean, Cass is just finding, like, he doesn't have any.
Speaker B:Man, he didn't have any junk for a while.
Speaker B:He's just.
Speaker B:He's just finding things out.
Speaker B:All right, so we're gonna go back to Chuck's house?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Dean's gotta go get Chuck.
Speaker A:And Chuck's like, oh, hell no.
Speaker A:Am I going along with this plan?
Speaker A:I'm just a writer.
Speaker A:I haven't seen this happen yet.
Speaker A:So Dean's like, nope, nope.
Speaker A:It's happening.
Speaker A:And Chuck's like, no.
Speaker A:And he's like, well, I will shoot you.
Speaker A:And he's like, but I'm protected.
Speaker A:How's that going to work?
Speaker A:He's like, it's an exercise.
Speaker A:And who's quick or draw?
Speaker A:And so Chuck goes with him.
Speaker A:So there we go.
Speaker A:We get back to the motel, and there's a knock at the motel door.
Speaker A:Door.
Speaker A:Sam answers it.
Speaker A:There's no one there.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:Is there?
Speaker A:But then there's a blonde woman behind him.
Speaker A:Hello, Sam.
Speaker A:And then her eyes turn white and creepy.
Speaker A:So it's a hot blonde woman.
Speaker A:And this is the new Lilith, played by Catherine Boescher.
Speaker A:And she was in the movie Crossroads with Britney Spears.
Speaker A:She was in the Spy Next Door.
Speaker A:She's been in episodes of Lucifer, Rosewood, Heroes, csi.
Speaker A:Csi, the York Closer, Mad Men, Malcolm in the Middle, ER and more.
Speaker A:And she's from Beaumont, Texas.
Speaker B:Yeah, I think you could just probably stop at Crossroads.
Speaker B:I mean, if I was her, like, any time I introduced somebody, I would be like, I was in Crossroads.
Speaker B:And nobody has ever seen it, so you couldn't deny it.
Speaker B:Anyways, you're like, okay, cool.
Speaker B:I believe.
Speaker B:Because I'm not going to watch it to find out.
Speaker A:But it's so cool.
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker B:You know Britney.
Speaker B:Sweet.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker A:So she immediately asks for the knife.
Speaker B:It's like.
Speaker B:It's by the bed.
Speaker B:Kinky.
Speaker B:So kinky.
Speaker B:And then she's just like, oh, there's a devil's trap under the rug.
Speaker B:I've got your number, Sam.
Speaker B:Zap.
Speaker B:And she just zaps it and breaks it.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Try harder, Sam.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:Feel my hand.
Speaker A:Oh, my God.
Speaker A:He tries to do his psychic Sammy demon fling.
Speaker A:And it's just like a brain freeze.
Speaker A:So she.
Speaker A:She can't throw him, right?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:It's like, try harder, Sam.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Feel my hand.
Speaker B:You're immune to my charms.
Speaker B:Let's wait.
Speaker B:Not yet.
Speaker B:And then she's like, stand down because I'm gonna get killed.
Speaker B:And then he's like, well, I want to go back to the.
Speaker B:She's like, I want to go back to the good old days.
Speaker B:All baby blood all the time.
Speaker A:So great.
Speaker B:I want to put that on a show shirt.
Speaker A:All baby blood all the time.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:So she.
Speaker A:She wants to.
Speaker A:But so basically, she wants to make a deal that's the summary here.
Speaker A:She wants to make a fucking deal because she's realized that she's not going to survive this war in the grand scheme of things.
Speaker A:And honestly, she doesn't really want to deal with all this shit.
Speaker A:She would rather Lucifer stay in his cage, but she doesn't really want the fucking Winchesters around either.
Speaker A:She wants us go back to how she was kicking it in hell with her baby blood.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's.
Speaker B:Don't be selfish.
Speaker B:And Sam's like, I'm not like you.
Speaker B:And she's like, prove it.
Speaker B:Look at my cleavage.
Speaker B:And then she's like, you got fuck me now.
Speaker B:And he's like, what?
Speaker B:He's like, I told you, you got fuck me now.
Speaker A:Basically, not yet.
Speaker A:Basically.
Speaker A:So that's.
Speaker A:If he takes the deal, it's about self sacrifice, you're just going straight the fuck.
Speaker A:But basically the trade off is she's like, look, if you and your brother die, then we can just end this and then there's no apocalypse.
Speaker A:So basically she's offering to train trade their two lives for 6 billion people on earth.
Speaker A:It's kind of like a grand, A grand grand scheme of a trolley problem, I guess, in a way.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:You kill the man who keeps tying people to the tracks, problem solved.
Speaker B:But yeah.
Speaker B:So at least we know the dental hygienist has given her consent.
Speaker A:Well, we know that, that, yeah, she's given consent.
Speaker A:And basically since she's like a badass demon instead of.
Speaker A:You can't just kiss her and make your deal.
Speaker A:If you agree the deal you got to.
Speaker A:Which, like, how do you know, like, are there like tiers of this?
Speaker A:Is there like first base, second base, third base?
Speaker A:And like you have to go all the way with certain.
Speaker B:What is the anal fingering concept?
Speaker A:I don't know, but I'm just saying, like different tiers of demons have like, different.
Speaker B:Like how much dogecoin to buy.
Speaker B:Like that's anal fingering.
Speaker B:Like how much?
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:There's so many ways ways that this could go.
Speaker B:But she also like right before they're about to bone, she's like, hold on.
Speaker B:Boom.
Speaker B:And she like flips her eyes back again because just in case, like I look into my orbs.
Speaker A:Yeah, weird.
Speaker A:So obviously he agreed.
Speaker B:Sexy.
Speaker A:He agreed.
Speaker A:He agreed.
Speaker A:He's like it.
Speaker A:Yeah, you're right.
Speaker A:I am going to sacrifice this and we're gonna.
Speaker A:And I'm gonna you and to make the deal.
Speaker A:And so they get.
Speaker A:So they're about to do, do it.
Speaker A:But what she's Caressing his leg.
Speaker A:And he climbs on top of her.
Speaker A:And then he tries to fucking stab her.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:But she grabs the bat because she's quick.
Speaker B:And the door busts open.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker B:Very brave.
Speaker B:Brave Rob Benedict and the prophet Chuck.
Speaker B:See, and that's right.
Speaker B:I thought he was adorable.
Speaker B:All right, so then the walls start shaking, right?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Which is always a bad sign, just by the way.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so lights coming in.
Speaker B:And Dean's just like.
Speaker B:The room's gonna be full of wrath.
Speaker B:And she doesn't leave because the archangel's gonna come down and kill her.
Speaker B:So why don't the archangels just come kill this bitch?
Speaker A:I don't understand that either, because that would.
Speaker A:I mean, the story would be a lot shorter, but.
Speaker B:Yes, the story would be a lot shorter.
Speaker B:But they keep saying, like, we can't kill her.
Speaker B:And clearly he could kill her.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:Or at least send her back to hell.
Speaker B:So it takes long.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Does y', all, like, not think about this?
Speaker B:Like, this is your war planning and we need to talk about this.
Speaker B:Like, you guys, like, I need to be in your war room.
Speaker B:We need to have a strategy meeting.
Speaker B:All right, so the boys are just like, fuck.
Speaker B:And they're just gonna drive out of town, right?
Speaker A:Well, because she.
Speaker A:She.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:The demon does leave her.
Speaker A:She does get her black smoke cock exiting her body.
Speaker A:And the blonde body collapses on the ground.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:So they're driving.
Speaker A:We never see the archangel show up.
Speaker A:It was just enough to scare Lilith away.
Speaker A:So the brothers are driving in.
Speaker A:Baby.
Speaker A:And she's hurt.
Speaker A:And then.
Speaker A:And Sam tells Dean the deal that he was offered.
Speaker A:And Dean asked, like, did you think about taking it and did you trust it?
Speaker A:And he's like, I think Lilith is scared and running and.
Speaker A:Because she knows she's not going to survive the apocalypse.
Speaker B:And then he's, like, very creepy.
Speaker B:And he is like, I'll make sure of that.
Speaker B:And it's just very, like.
Speaker B:It's like one line action movie.
Speaker B:Didn't like it.
Speaker B:Didn't like it.
Speaker B:All right, so I thought it was creepy, but we're gonna.
Speaker B:We're gonna pop back to poor Chuck who sleeps.
Speaker B:Like, I do.
Speaker B:Poor.
Speaker B:I feel you, man.
Speaker B:I feel you.
Speaker B:I.
Speaker B:Those.
Speaker B:That's me every fucking night.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Zachariah is there.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Except Kurt Frohler is not popping into my bedroom.
Speaker A:I will.
Speaker B:I will say that Zachariah is not at least popping into my bedroom.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:Are you complaining or relief?
Speaker B:I'm okay.
Speaker B:Like, he doesn't need to.
Speaker B:Like, that's cool.
Speaker B:Like, like we're all right.
Speaker A:Like it's all right.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Just curious.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So Zachary and Zachariah asked did you see it?
Speaker A:And Chuck asks if it was true and.
Speaker A:And ask, you know, if it's all really going to happen.
Speaker A:And he really wants to warn Sam and Dean, but Zachariah tells him he can't do it.
Speaker A:So now we know that Chuck has seen what's coming next, but has not yet written about it and did not warn them.
Speaker A:And Zachariah's.
Speaker A:Zachariah is basically like, you shouldn't know too much about your own destiny.
Speaker A:And if you try to tell them, I'm going to stop you.
Speaker A:Chuck threatens to kill himself.
Speaker A:And they're like, nah, we'll just bring you back.
Speaker A:Back.
Speaker A:We just need you to keep writing.
Speaker A:So now like, it's like, so now is this like, okay, this isn't some gift.
Speaker A:This isn't some like, cool inspiration or documenting something that's going to happen now.
Speaker A:You're like a fucking prisoner.
Speaker B:Well, I mean, you are.
Speaker B:And I 1.
Speaker B:I love that there's lots of smiting references I think in here.
Speaker B:But just the like, we'll just bring you back is pretty horrific.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:But like, I can't even kill myself.
Speaker B:I really like the line, do what you always do, Chuck.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:I just think it's a very poetic line.
Speaker B:I just.
Speaker B:It sounds like something that should be in like, oh, like one of these fucking like vinyl things.
Speaker B:My wall or something, you know, Like I can print one.
Speaker B:The cricket.
Speaker B:My cricut machine is out because I'm working on a project anyways.
Speaker B:But I let that line.
Speaker B:I thought it was good.
Speaker B:But we're also still.
Speaker B:I know we're getting to the end of the season, but again we have.
Speaker B:We had things that were answered this episode, but I think we still were left with more questions.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Like we got Lilith came back, but randomly.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Like that was just like a rant like, how did she.
Speaker A:Or she better be.
Speaker A:I think she's been fault tracking them as much as they're tracking her.
Speaker A:Her as part of this.
Speaker A:And she finally was like, fuck this shit.
Speaker A:Let me see if I can end it.
Speaker B:I guess so.
Speaker B:I don't know if you believe that.
Speaker A:Her deal was real.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:But you don't know.
Speaker B:Like we don't.
Speaker B:We still really don't know what's happening.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:Like could have been a scam.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So we don't know who to trust.
Speaker B:We don't know what's going on.
Speaker B:I mean, obviously it was Just a very entertaining episode.
Speaker B:Episode.
Speaker B:The writing was fucking top notch.
Speaker B:It was so great.
Speaker B:Like, there's just so well done.
Speaker B:Is it satisfying?
Speaker B:No, but it was enjoyable.
Speaker A:Satisfying.
Speaker A:But it was super fun.
Speaker A:But also, I guess for me, like, being that I haven't seen it before, like, you know, not seeing this episode before, I thought it was fun.
Speaker A:And I also do think it forwarded the story of it.
Speaker A:I mean, hey, we have a whole new character that's really, like.
Speaker A:But I don't know how I feel about it to say be honest, too.
Speaker A:Like, oh, so we got this guy that's writing their fucking story from Islam.
Speaker A:Like, dirty House all the time.
Speaker A:Like, this guy, you know, that's.
Speaker A:That's fun.
Speaker B:Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was my college roommate.
Speaker A:Like, why don't they.
Speaker A:Why are they taking him with them?
Speaker A:So, like, when he has, like, a vision, they know what's going to come next.
Speaker A:But that's also terrifying.
Speaker A:Like, do you want to know?
Speaker B:I also just really want to clean that couch.
Speaker B:Like, that couch just, like, offends me.
Speaker B:Like, and I know I've been on that couch.
Speaker B:I have sat on that couch.
Speaker B:I slept on that couch.
Speaker B:Other things on that couch.
Speaker B:But, yeah, it's just, like,.
Speaker A:There's not enough.
Speaker A:There's not enough Febreze for that couch.
Speaker A:I'm just saying.
Speaker B:No, that couch just goes.
Speaker B:Goes out.
Speaker B:You don't put that couch on Craigslist.
Speaker B:You just.
Speaker B:You just put it on the curb.
Speaker A:Oh, look, that couch.
Speaker A:Anyway, sorry, it's doing way too many crossovers there.
Speaker A:All right, so there we go.
Speaker B:That's what I got.
Speaker A:I like that.
Speaker B:So, yeah, you're right.
Speaker B:We had a major character introduction, and that is the end of episode 18.
Speaker B:Three more episodes.
Speaker B:I can't do math.
Speaker B:Is that four more episodes?
Speaker A:I think so.
Speaker A:I have to check over here in the season.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker A:Top of my head.
Speaker B:I'm sorry.
Speaker B:What's really funny is I think right when we get to the season finale of the season finale of this, we'll be together, like, both weeks.
Speaker B:The end of the season.
Speaker B:I think we'll figure that out anyways, guys.
Speaker B:All right, well, we'll tell you about our schedule planning later for those of you who have not hung this up already.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker B:And cheers.
Speaker B:Jerk.
Speaker A:Cheers.
