This week's Leadership Tidbits with Coach Tee Wilson features Crystal Cooper. Dr. Crystal Cooper is a best-selling author, national consultant teacher, presenter, speaker, and an award-winning school principal,coaching other leaders in and out of the educational industry in various facets of leadership, culturally responsive teaching, literacy and social emotional learning research and implementation. She is the developer of Principal Cooper®, Professional Learning Consulting Services, LLC. This PC-PLCS focuses on supporting schools and businesses across the nation with pathways to improve school and work environments and processes that build positive work spaces for children and adults. PC-PLCS offers a variety of professional learning workshops, and coaching opportunities focused on many areas in education and business. Dr. Cooper earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia, a Specialist degree from the University of West Georgia, a Masters degree from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor's degree from William Paterson University. During her undergraduate years, she was highly involved, serving as the president and a member of several clubs, treasurer of the student government, resident assistant and homecoming queen.
Crystal began her leadership journey in the classroom where she taught grades 1-4 for seven years in Paterson, New Jersey. Over the past 16 years, she served as a literacy coach, assistant principal, national presenter/consultant with her most recent being the school principal of award-winning Title I school in a large district outside of Atlanta, Georgia. She is a nationally certified consultant teacher for the Center for Responsive SchoolsⓇ, graduate of the Learning Forward Academy, and Gwinnett County Public Schools’ Quality-Plus Leadership Academy.
In 2019, Dr. Cooper, co-authored her first best-selling publication, Power of Kingdom Mindset . This book is an anthology of believers who share personal testimonies around various principles. She is presently collaborating on a book titled Leadership Tidbits (December 2019). A collection of leadership strategies and tips from leadership trailblazers in different industries who share practical ideas centered on help to develop others in the area of leadership, personal growth & development, mindset, or communication.
Crystal’s greatest strengths are her drive, positive mindset and leadership qualities. Her most recently recorded strengths according to the Strengthsfinder® assessment are: Communicator, Woo, Input, Connectedness and Positivity. Additionally, she was assessed in the past as a learner, achiever and as responsible. She shares these results with others, to give them insight into her philosophy on leadership and also how her participants can become stronger leaders, when they know their own strengths. Known as passionate, fun-loving and loyal, Crystal is excited to continue expanding her journey as a published author and creator of a new educational consulting business that will work to cultivate positive educational experiences for children, teachers and leaders across the world in all areas.
