This is the fourteenth and final episode in Eric Ludy’s winter Daily Thunder series that dives into the unstable season of American history known as the Antebellum period (1815-1861). This particular message examines the impact of one particular character upon this unique time-period in history. Elmer Ellsworth was only twenty-three years old, but he greatly impacted the nation. Throughout the Civil War, the motto that most inspired the North in their battle to quell the secession of the South, was the phrase, “Remember Ellsworth!” We would all do well to remember Ellsworth, too.
