In this special Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast interview from the Christian Product Expo Summer 2026, TS Wright welcomes returning guest Kathy Dye, whose Bible study The Song of Our Heart was selected as a Golden Scroll Awards finalist.

Kathy shares the deeply personal story behind the book, beginning with her mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s. Even when her mother could no longer recognize family members, she continued to remember and sing the words of beloved Christian hymns. That experience became part of the inspiration for Kathy’s message about the “song” God places within the life of a believer.

The conversation explores several important Psalms, including Psalm 1, Psalm 23, and especially Psalm 71, which became the foundation of Kathy’s Bible study. Psalm 71’s picture of looking back over a lifetime of God’s faithfulness—and then proclaiming His goodness to the next generation—became especially meaningful to Kathy as she entered a new season of life and ministry.

Kathy also encourages believers not to be afraid of sharing their testimony. Our witness does not always come through dramatic moments; often, we demonstrate God’s faithfulness through ordinary conversations, family relationships, teaching, serving, and faithfully walking with Christ each day.

In this episode:

  • The story behind The Song of Our Heart
  • Kathy Dye’s experience caring for her mother with Alzheimer’s
  • Why hymns and worship can remain deeply rooted in the heart
  • Lessons from Psalm 1 about being firmly planted in God’s Word
  • Seeing God as Shepherd through Psalm 23
  • Why Psalm 71 became Kathy’s favorite Psalm
  • Remembering God’s faithfulness throughout every season of life
  • Creating a spiritual timeline of God’s work in your life
  • Sharing your testimony with confidence
  • Passing faith and biblical truth to the next generation
  • Finding hope, refuge, protection, and praise during seasons of fear and uncertainty

Kathy’s closing encouragement is simple and powerful: when facing fear or uncertainty, return to Psalm 71 and remember that God is your refuge, your protection, and your hope.
