Pear Hand Pie

Pear hand pies

Dough:

2 ½ c flour

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1 cup unsalted butter

6-8 tbsp cold water

Filling

4 cups cubed pears

½ c sugar

3 tbsp flour

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp ground cloves

1 tsp lemon zest

1 tbsp lemon juice

Egg wash

1 egg

2 tbsp water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper

Peel and cube 4 pears and mix with the rest of the filling ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until the dough has a pebble consistency. Add in water a tablespoon at a time until a smooth dough forms.

Roll out the dough about 1/8 in. thick and cut out 4-5 inch circles.
