Episode #57 : A Double Portion

In this episode from June 27, 2022, Fr. Tom DiLorenzo reads from and comments upon 2 Kings chapters 2 and 4. As the prophet Elijah's, sojourn on earth comes to a close he asks Elisha what he can do for him. Elisha asks for a double portion of Elijah's spirit. A chariot and horses of fire take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha sees this and picks up the mantle of Elijah which had fallen to the ground. He succeeds Elijah as the preeminent prophet in Israel, and the wonders he performs show that he did, indeed, receive a double portion of the spirit that was on Elijah.
