War in Israel, discussions about end times…let’s not get distracted from what God has called us to do and be right now. God’s Word never changes, but it is living and active. I believe John 10:10 is as relevant as ever and succinctly describes what we are facing as believers today.
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. - John 10:10
How does the enemy steal, kill and destroy? Let’s look at it this way:
Jesus died on the cross between two thieves. I believe those thieves represent yesterday and tomorrow. We can’t change yesterday, Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow.
Yesterday
The enemy will try to get us fixated on something that happened in the past, to feel shame, to occupy our thought-life and be consumed with something we cannot change that we are unable to live fully today.
Tomorrow
Likewise, if the enemy gets us fearful about tomorrow and in a cycle of “what if this, what if that…” then that keeps us from living fully today.
Today
Today, we can choose to love Him, love the ones He has given to us, to be kind to those around us. Today, we can be a disciple of Jesus - be an influence in our radius and advance His kingdom.
Don’t let the enemy steal TODAY.
Don’t be fearful of today. Remember Jesus’ words:
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. - John 17:15
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. - John 16:33
Let's dive deep into these truths.
