Transcripts

Speaker A:

This is a Daily note from jamesabrown.net 7 million men are in their prime working years without a job and with no interest in finding one.

Speaker A:

And that number has been going up steadily for the last half century and even more over the last 20 years or so.

Speaker A:

Two University of Connecticut economists published research on why.

Speaker A:

They found that kids are shaped by what they see, especially young boys.

Speaker A:

And if these impressionable boys didn't see men around them go to work, they're less likely to do it themselves.

Speaker A:

And if they watch them struggle to find work, they grow up believing they'll struggle, too.

Speaker A:

Keep in mind that this is only one study, but boy, it rings true.

Speaker A:

I've watched this play out over and over again in my own life.

Speaker A:

What do you think about all this?

Speaker A:

Let me know on jamesabrown.net on that note.

Speaker A:

I'm James A.

Speaker A:

Brown, and as always, be well.
