Over the years, those of us in the fraud-fighting industry have sometimes joked about "job security". As long as fraud was still targeting businesses & banks, it was assumed that we would always have a job, unless we wanted to leave for our own reasons.

But, one harsh reality in 2022 has been the hundreds, if not thousands of layoffs (or redundancies) of professional fraud-fighters in various business types. Whether it's in consumer fintech, the banking industry, fraud-tech vendors sales & marketing, or ecommerce, we have seen LinkedIn post after LinkedIn post about seeking new opportunities.

One of those people recently impacted by this wave was Meredith McCleary; a passionate fraud-fighter & Certified Fraud Examiner who was previously in the mortgage & lending industry.
