Transcript
Julie (31:40):
for anyone listening, what's the thing that brings you the greatest joy or puts you in a place of the highest nourishment that will be your thing? Mine is wildlife. And I transcend domains when I'm with them.
If when you go on safari with me, I will tell you, when we're in a lion pride, I'm not gonna be talking to you. And it's not me being rude. I am fully in their energy field. And it's a oneness that happens.
Tessa (32:16):
Yes.
Julie (32:17):
And it could be with a garden, it could be with painting, it could be with singing, it could be with that thing where you feel most alive and more you practice that and pay attention to the way that resonates with you, the way you can get beyond monkey mind, the way you stop thinking about everything and assessing everything and judging everything and analyzing everything. It's like, you know me, Tessa, I'm in the ocean with sharks and big marine mammals and I'm on heavy task load. Right. Because
Tessa (32:48):
Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>,
Julie (32:48):
I'm holding my breath. I'm on, I'm free diving and I've got a camera and I'm watching animals and I'm in a habitat where humans don't really work very well. So it's a heavy task load. It requires my entire full body awareness and instinct to be in that situation.
Tessa (33:09):
Absolutely. And of course, you know, being in the ocean is one of the places where I...
Julie (33:14):
Yeah.
Tessa (33:15):
Have that experience of oneness. And somebody had asked me to describe it to them a few weeks ago, and it just gave me such pleasure just to attempt to do that. Right. But there, we, it's not limited to these extreme things.
Julie (33:32):
No.
Tessa (33:32):
We can have that experience anywhere in our lives, should we have the commitment and the intention to do so. And the skills like having practiced it.
Julie (33:44):
Yeah, I agree with that. And I, everything I've learned from the wildlife has everything to do with my success. And you know, when a leopard comes out and she's hunting, the first thing she does is sit and listen for about 30 minutes before she makes a move.
Tessa (34:01):
Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>.
Julie (34:02):
And I'll do that with my business. I'll be like, Ooh, I'm feeling something in the field. And I'll, I'll like, notice something's trying to get my attention and I'll like move away from distractions and othering and like go pay attention and nurture and tease that energy forward. What are you trying to tell me? What do you want me to know? To me, we have this mad assumption that we are pinging the universe and I think it's so wrong, wrong. I think we're being pinged <laugh>. And so like I'll sit and use the skillset of a leopardes who's sitting and listening and go, people on my list want something I haven't yet given them. And I like start to tease that and entertain that and flirt with that. What is that? What is that? You don't think we do enough of our own instinct thing and following our own guidance? And it's why we're in this big sovereignty mess as women and we're rising yet we still are under not financially influencing economics and you know, why we're not fully living life on our own terms.
Tessa (35:23):
I hear you and it seems like one of the things that gets in the way of women being in their sovereignty and owning that is like the fear of what might come up on their way there. You know, the fear of a feeling that they aren't wanting to have or the fear of appearing a certain way. Do you have any specific guidance or tips for our listeners today? It could be around that or something else.
Julie (36:11):
Yeah, I think the body doesn't know the difference between fear and enthusiasm. So I think we need to challenge what we say we're experiencing as fear. And I think before any and all of this, you have to make a choice in a commitment to following the call of your soul. Like to me, that's the soul work to do.
Tessa (36:41):
Yes.
Julie (36:42):
And that, that you revere your own knowing over anything and anyone else. It doesn't mean you go blow up relationships, it just means that you go, I need to take that in, or I need a minute, or, let me think about that, or I need to process that and like buy time.
Tessa (36:58):
Exactly.
Julie (36:59):
And for me, my reset, I come back to the quote of my life, which is marry Oliver, which is let the soft animal of your body love what it loves to make it okay. To love what you love in the way you love it.
Tessa (37:26):
Ooh, yes. Beautiful. You know, I'm gonna suggest there's also, I love the things that you just stated around the choice and the commitment and then and the power of that. Right. And I think one of the other things that, that gives us when we do that, when we're listening to our soul, and I know you know this inside now, but it's that we also get to just stand by a decision.
Julie (38:00):
Yeah.
Tessa (38:01):
Right? And so as leaders as whether we're a leader of a household or a community or whatever it is, a department, a class making decisions or just the leader of your life, right. Rather than feeling like there's a being a defended animal backed into a corner. Ugh. Right?
Julie (38:25):
Yeah.
Tessa (38:25):
To be just in your no or your yes or your need. This is what I need right now. That's not right for me. I I'm getting my clear guidance. Boom. There's no argument.
Julie (38:39):
No, there's no argument. And it will require you to break up with people pleasing <laugh>.
Tessa (38:48):
You know, it'll really, you weren't supposed to say that <laugh>.
Julie (38:52):
No, I'm gonna say it because
Tessa (38:54):
I'm teasing. Yes.
Julie (38:55):
What's affecting, like, we're not doing that right <laugh>,
Tessa (38:57):
Right? No, we, it, it, it has to be be part of it. Absolutely.
Julie (39:01):
We're bartering right for inclusion or bartering for bonding, you know, which I've just seen myself at a whole new level in the last couple month in a particular circumstance that went a certain direction. [AUDIOGRAM FOR EPISODE 33] And it was just like, whoa. Like where are you abdicating? Where are you Acquiescing is the places that you're not listening. And I get that it can be scary and it will take audacity. It will take moxie. It won't be easy, but it'll be the most fulfilling thing you ever do. And we are living in a time that is so chaotic that it's also catalyzing if you're willing to look at it like that. And we're in triage. We are in a sense of urgency. And if you're not gonna go for your...

And if you're not gonna go for your full soul expression now, I don't know when you're gonna go for it because it is the counterbalance to the epic aggression, negativity, and the consciousness of war that needs to be completed.
Tessa (:Absolutely. And the only thing that's gonna get us through whatever is coming and what's already here, is listening to our own soul guidance because we're gonna need answers to things that we've never been asked.
Julie (:That's right.
Tessa (:And nobody has an answer for us. We've got to listen, listen to that inner guidance. Where should I be right now? Oh, what am I noticing? Oh, am I picking up on this? Wow. I'm gonna listen to that and follow through. And I will say, you know, I'm not perfect at this. As a matter of fact, I got myself into trouble a few weeks ago,
Oh yeah. That's expensive when we do that.
It was expensive. I'm still paying that cost, but it'll be over soon.
Julie (:Yey!
Tessa (:Yeah. And you know, there's forgiveness in that. Right? I've gotta for forgive myself. I do have flaws.
Julie (:Yeah.
Tessa (:I sometimes acquiesce. I like, oh, that person said it's okay. All right. No. Right. And I knew it. I just knew it with every fiber of my being. And then...
Julie (:Yeah,
Tessa (:There's a consequence. So I want to see people with fewer negative consequences.
Julie (:Absolutely.
Tessa (:More positive consequences. Especially as structures continue to crumble, we are gonna need heart center, compassionate people speaking, expressing, guiding from a place of divine connection. Not proselytizing, not preaching, but really listening deep within. 'cause I don't know what your soul's gonna tell you to do, but right now you don't know either. And I want all of you, all my listeners here to start really tuning in, get some more practice with that, and learn to trust the information that you're receiving.
Julie (:You know, I think the motivation, like this is a lifestyle commitment to inner attunement.
Tessa (:Yes.
Julie (:And if in a world, one of the gifts of the incredible unfathomable in imagery that we're seeing, experiencing the minimum of the eight levels of grief, I could name for you right now, that are happening for everyone, is we are, the stability and security are gone. They're gone. Like, I'm gonna truth tell right now they're gone.
Tessa (:Yep. Go for it.
Julie (:And the motivation for getting dialed into your own personal sovereignty and getting right with that, it's the only security and stability you will ever have.
Tessa (:Amen to that.
Julie (:That what you spoke of, and I don't mean that as threateningly as it sounds. What I mean is you want stability, you wanna create freedom, you wanna be all of who you are. It is a deep, personal, ongoing transformational journey. I am gonna say it to say yes to your soul. It really is.
Tessa (:You're welcome,
Thank you. You know, there are days where I'm like, why did I call the show Say yes to your soul. Like, this is
That's why
But I know it's what was calling me forward. Right. And as much as I was like, I don't know how I'm gonna do this, I don't, you know, am I smart enough to do all, all the things, all the, the silly questions? And I was like, this is what my soul is guiding me to do. And I'm so blessed to have people like yourself be here and share your wisdom and your love for humanity and also the vision that you have that you hold because we can have the world we want.
Julie (:Oh yeah.
Tessa (:And I think we forget that sometimes when we're in the midst of the chaoticness and the cataclysm. We've just gotta keep creating it. Right?
Julie (:We are co-creating it. [POSS AUDIOGRAM FOR HER SECOND EPISODE #33] We are co-creators. We are part of the family in which this consciousness lives. And we can't say we're not, we can't other it blame it on other people. I know, as hard as that is to hear as many individuals, families, children are being impact across the globe, there's more wars going on than those being spoken of because I have a network of information that I get and there's multiple other wars people don't know anything about, and they don't have to. I'm just saying that we, doing this work is the counterbalance to adding to the sum total of negativity and darkness that's already on the planet. And so engaging in things that continue to contribute to that are the things that help hold it in place. And I know that sounds like a big responsibility, but I have to look at myself and go, where can I have positive impact? And that's what I'm gonna do today and every day. That's an inner question. And I think the thing to really start this moving forward is when you wake up in the morning before you do anything, before you feed the cat or you pee or you drink or you make coffee, you know, or you look at the news, you take three minutes and ask, what does my soul want for me today?
Tessa (:Oh, I love that. Thank you so much for that wisdom. And sadly,
Yeah. I really believe that women can no longer afford to have money and finances be a barrier to their greatest soul work being in the world. And you can find me at julie steelman S-T-E-E-L-M-A N.com. That's also my handle on any social media. And you know, I also have the Prosperous Feminine Podcast, and we have deep inner, as well as practical conversations about women's money, wealth and prosperity.
Tessa (:Fantastic. And did you have a gift that you wanted our listeners to know about today?
Julie (:Yeah. Sure. If they want to. I created this two pager that is fast, fun, and friendly, and it's the five fast mindset shifts you can make to open up your inner wellspring of prosperity. And it's something that I've worked with my whole life and to this day still work with as the game changers to open the door to a lot more income, a lot more prosperity, and stepping out of financial limitation.
Tessa (:Hmm. Fantastic. Yes. And I know your mindset shifts are amazing, so I wanna encourage everyone who's listening today, if you've been resonating with Julie to please go to her website, juliesteelman.com and allow yourself the gift of coming into greater sovereignty, greater expression of who you are as a defined feminine being in this world today that needs you as you also thrive. So giving up the stuff that keeps you from doing that and going for it. You have our blessing. Julie, thank you so much. It's been just such an honor and a joy to have you here today.
Julie (:Thank you so much for this. I really loved this conversation and always love my time with you.
Tessa (:
