Speaker:

Dang.

Speaker:

welcome back.

Speaker:

My mesmerizing marketing tribe.

Speaker:

I know I have been missing an action for a few.

Speaker:

And that is because I was busy moving across the nation and I have moved and

Speaker:

I'm still trying to get settled in, but I do wanna get back to my podcast.

Speaker:

So I'm gonna be creating great content and new episodes.

Speaker:

Make sure that you guys subscribe.

Speaker:

And in the meantime, you've got 50 other episodes that you guys can download

Speaker:

and learn all about marketing on the mesmerizing marketing podcast today.

Speaker:

I'm really excited because I have some breaking news.

Speaker:

This is something that I personally have been waiting for forever because

Speaker:

it will make lives easier of anyone who's managing content for clients

Speaker:

and even creating content for themselves as their personal brand.

Speaker:

So the great news is that Instagram finally announced that

Speaker:

it's going to be opening up its Real's API to third party tools.

Speaker:

Now, what does that mean for you?

Speaker:

that means that you're gonna be able to schedule your Instagram reel in advance.

Speaker:

So it's gonna make it so much easier for you to create content and to also post

Speaker:

content at, the time when, you know, you get the most engagement with your reel.

Speaker:

For example, I've noticed that either.

Speaker:

A around 8:00 AM in the morning or 8:00 PM at night.

Speaker:

That is when most people happen to be engaging with reels.

Speaker:

So you can find out what the best time is in your time zone.

Speaker:

And then you can schedule reels in advance to go out during those scheduled times.

Speaker:

And so what the API means is.

Speaker:

you know, For example, if you're using, a platform, let's say you're

Speaker:

using, sprout social, or you're using, buffer, just, different platforms to

Speaker:

post your social media content while Instagram is gonna be, providing an

Speaker:

API to third party tools, to be able to allow the ability to schedule reels.

Speaker:

And then they're also going to be.

Speaker:

Having access to insights, to hashtag search and so much more.

Speaker:

And, wanna go through some of the details about this new, exciting announcement

Speaker:

about, the Instagram, API feature.

Speaker:

So, what's happening is that MEA.

Speaker:

And if you don't know MEA, I mean, they're the ones who

Speaker:

own Instagram and Facebook.

Speaker:

It just that they changed their name to meta, a few months ago.

Speaker:

And so what they're saying is they're gonna be introducing the reals API, on

Speaker:

the Instagram platform for developers.

Speaker:

So it's gonna allow developers to use the APIs, to schedule reels and to get

Speaker:

social interaction metrics for reels.

Speaker:

And then it's also going to allow developers.

Speaker:

To publish reel on Instagram business accounts using APIs.

Speaker:

it's also going to have the ability to let developers reply to comments, delete

Speaker:

comments, hide on hide comments and to even disable and enable comments on reels.

Speaker:

So this gives you guys so much flexibility.

Speaker:

And just to kind of give you guys a little bit of history.

Speaker:

Of why Instagram is probably doing this is because they're saying is that

Speaker:

reels actually make up 20% of the time that users are spending on Instagram.

Speaker:

So, they announced in their Q1 20, 22 earnings that reels, and

Speaker:

basically, they are riving TikTok that makes up 20% of the time that

Speaker:

people are spending on Instagram.

Speaker:

And then they also said that video overall makes up 50% of the time

Speaker:

that users spent on Facebook.

Speaker:

So video content is here to stay and short form content in the form

Speaker:

of reels is also here to stay.

Speaker:

So if you're not creating video content, you're not creating reels.

Speaker:

You're definitely missing out because you can no longer just have static post.

Speaker:

And get a lot of reach because people want to be entertained.

Speaker:

And when you're creating reals, you also wanna make sure that you're

Speaker:

creating content that is educational, but it's also entertaining.

Speaker:

It's also funny and it really grabs the attention of the user.

Speaker:

So when you think about your business, and you think about what you do.

Speaker:

You have to think of, how can you present the information in a way where people

Speaker:

are going to really be drawn in to follow your page, to, you know, save that real,

Speaker:

to even share it with their friends, because that's really, really important.

Speaker:

So, keep that in mind.

Speaker:

And then, you know, just to give you guys a little bit more details about.

Speaker:

All these different algorithms and everything.

Speaker:

So like as far as like TikTok, one of the reasons why it's really

Speaker:

popular is that it has this algorithm that gives recommendations.

Speaker:

So based on what people are watching, it actually will recommend you more

Speaker:

reals that are about those same topics.

Speaker:

So when you are coming up with a concept for your business, you can't really be

Speaker:

all over the place because then what's gonna happen is like Instagram reels.

Speaker:

Like it's gonna get confused in terms of, well, who's your target audience

Speaker:

and who should your content be shown to?

Speaker:

So you wanna niche down on what it is that you wanna get more clients for, what it

Speaker:

is that you wanna build your brand for.

Speaker:

And then if you have multiple interest, I would suggest you set up a separate

Speaker:

page because if you're gonna show things about, let's say home decorating, but

Speaker:

then you're gonna talk about marketing.

Speaker:

That really should be a separate page with separate reels.

Speaker:

And, and you can even have an Instagram page that you set up and all you

Speaker:

do is create Real's content on it.

Speaker:

You don't have to do anything else.

Speaker:

The other cool thing.

Speaker:

is now when you're posting reels.

Speaker:

And I just saw this the other day is that it gives you the ability in reels

Speaker:

to even add a pole and to add stickers.

Speaker:

So whenever Instagram comes up, when you features, you can try them out

Speaker:

because a lot of times it's going to show that content to more people.

Speaker:

If they come out with a new feature, they wanna promote it.

Speaker:

And that's, you know, that's literally how it works.

Speaker:

What's gonna happen is, you know, started on June 28th, is that they're

Speaker:

gonna be introducing reels to, several end points on the Instagram platform.

Speaker:

And what's gonna happen is about 25% of Instagram user accounts are

Speaker:

gonna have access to all Real's API.

Speaker:

But the APIs are actually gonna gradually roll out to a hundred

Speaker:

percent of all users by July 6th.

Speaker:

So coming into the 4th of July weekend, so, pretty soon

Speaker:

everyone's gonna have access to schedule their reels in advance.

Speaker:

So I think that this is so exciting.

Speaker:

I mean, I've been waiting for this forever, cuz I

Speaker:

know, you know, to post reel.

Speaker:

I wish I could schedule them because maybe I wanna post it at eight o'clock at

Speaker:

night, but maybe eight o'clock at night.

Speaker:

I'm not in a place where it's easy for me to be posting.

Speaker:

And this makes it so much easier.

Speaker:

It also makes it easier to make sure that you can have content posting consistently.

Speaker:

The one thing you're gonna have to do.

Speaker:

for that to happen though, is you're gonna have to schedule your content

Speaker:

strategy out in advance, and you're going to have to, what I call time block.

Speaker:

You're gonna have to time block on your calendar that, okay.

Speaker:

This week for two hours, I'm gonna be creating video content and I'm

Speaker:

gonna be creating this many reels.

Speaker:

, you know, and, and then you're gonna have to spend another day

Speaker:

or two and spend some time to edit those and to get them, to look at

Speaker:

the way that you want them to look.

Speaker:

And there's so many editing apps.

Speaker:

I mean, I actually love, cap cut.

Speaker:

It's amazing, but there's so many apps on the app store that you can use to really

Speaker:

just take your reels to another level.

Speaker:

But right now, what I wanna do.

Speaker:

Because I'm gonna give you guys the strategy for coming up with your

Speaker:

real content, where you can take this information and you can just have a

Speaker:

game plan on how to create content.

Speaker:

So if you're confused about what type of content to create for your

Speaker:

business, what you can do is you can go to Google and you can go to a

Speaker:

website called answer the public.com.

Speaker:

Go write it down again.

Speaker:

It's called answer the public.com and you can type in a key.

Speaker:

and what's gonna happen is it's gonna give you a list of questions.

Speaker:

And these are the questions that people are interested in when it comes to Google.

Speaker:

These are the questions that people are searching for online pertinent

Speaker:

to the keyword you typed in.

Speaker:

Let's say, for example, you type in yoga.

Speaker:

Well, you're gonna see what people are actually wanting to know about yoga,

Speaker:

and then you can take those questions.

Speaker:

on their top right hand corner.

Speaker:

You're gonna see a button that says export.

Speaker:

So you can actually export all those questions into an Excel document,

Speaker:

and you can add more columns.

Speaker:

You can remove columns and you can really just decide, okay,

Speaker:

I'm gonna make content on this.

Speaker:

And by the way, when you look at the circular.

Speaker:

you're gonna see, questions and they're like color coded.

Speaker:

So the darker green means that those questions are more popular.

Speaker:

So I recommend, you know, trying to look at those more in picking from those.

Speaker:

And what I also like to say, when you're doing this is take two screens.

Speaker:

If you have two computer screens or maybe get a laptop and a

Speaker:

desktop, or maybe go on your phone.

Speaker:

but you want to download the circular image because you can download that.

Speaker:

And then when you put everything into Excel, you can compare that to see

Speaker:

which questions are more popular.

Speaker:

Cuz when you export it to Excel, it's gonna put all the questions in

Speaker:

there and then you can actually see which ones are more popular that

Speaker:

you wanna create content off of.

Speaker:

So you can make a column that says topics.

Speaker:

You can make another column.

Speaker:

That's gonna say.

Speaker:

Platform.

Speaker:

So platform means that maybe you're gonna create content and

Speaker:

it's gonna be for Instagram.

Speaker:

It's gonna be for TikTok.

Speaker:

It's gonna be for YouTube.

Speaker:

Even this strategy can be used for like your content for your

Speaker:

blog articles, for your website.

Speaker:

And so many other things.

Speaker:

So what you can do is you can decide where that content is gonna be created

Speaker:

for, and then you can even put another column for, status a status means.

Speaker:

in productions.

Speaker:

It means maybe you have filmed it, and then there can be another column

Speaker:

for, edited and you need to post it.

Speaker:

And if you do this, like for a week or two, cuz you will

Speaker:

get one to two free searches.

Speaker:

You're literally gonna have the entire content strategy of what you

Speaker:

need to post for the next quarter.

Speaker:

and it's that easy.

Speaker:

So the free plan, they have a paid plan as well, but the free plan gives

Speaker:

you one to two keyword searches a day.

Speaker:

As far as I, last checked.

Speaker:

So this is really exciting.

Speaker:

And if you're gonna be creating content for reals, I suggest

Speaker:

that, you definitely, research on trending songs and music.

Speaker:

When you go on Instagram, you can see.

Speaker:

which songs are actually trending in terms of like how many

Speaker:

people have used them for reals.

Speaker:

So the ones that are more popular they're, you're gonna have the

Speaker:

ability to be shown to more people.

Speaker:

And even if you don't like the song, it doesn't matter.

Speaker:

You can turn the volume down.

Speaker:

And especially if you have audio where you're talking in the

Speaker:

reel, you want that to actually be louder than the music, right.

Speaker:

But some reels are gonna be without music and maybe you're

Speaker:

gonna have captions on them.

Speaker:

And, maybe you're gonna, have the app translate what you're saying, as well.

Speaker:

So you have a lot of different options, but whatever you do, you wanna make sure

Speaker:

that, your recording quality is good.

Speaker:

There's like a setting on your iPhone that you can go to your phone

Speaker:

and you can just, you know, set it to record in higher definition.

Speaker:

And that's gonna really make a difference because if you're recording

Speaker:

in like seven 20 versus like 10 80, it's gonna make a big difference.

Speaker:

So you, there's definitely ways to do that.

Speaker:

Then obviously you wanna take the real, you wanna edit it, you wanna enhance the

Speaker:

colors if you need to, and you want to, crop it into little bits and pieces and

Speaker:

delete the parts that aren't necessary.

Speaker:

Like the one thing.

Speaker:

That, you know, I think people can easily fix and I see people do this all the time.

Speaker:

They'll have their tripod, you can see them turning on the tripod

Speaker:

and turning it off in the real.

Speaker:

It's so easy just to clip those few seconds off so that when

Speaker:

you're real is being presented to people that it actually.

Speaker:

is capturing their attention right away, because you only have three seconds

Speaker:

or so to capture someone's attention.

Speaker:

If you capture their attention, they're gonna watch all the way through.

Speaker:

If you don't capture their attention, they're gonna keep scrolling.

Speaker:

And one of the way that your reels are gonna go viral is that when

Speaker:

it's posted how many people are actually liking it, engaging with

Speaker:

it, watching it all the way through.

Speaker:

So you wanna make sure that in the first few seconds there's some movement.

Speaker:

There's like, oh, I have to tell you something really important today.

Speaker:

You really just wanna get their attention.

Speaker:

So then you're captivating them to stay because they wanna

Speaker:

hear what the big news is.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And I think that's gonna make a big difference.

Speaker:

And then you also wanna make sure that you have pattern interruptions

Speaker:

because pattern interruptions.

Speaker:

And if you're probably think.

Speaker:

Well dimple, what is a pattern interruption?

Speaker:

A pattern interruption is that you could be filming the reel

Speaker:

and you can get different angles.

Speaker:

So you change the angle or you can film the reel, but then

Speaker:

you can put like a photo of something in it to show something.

Speaker:

you know, to reference something that you're talking about.

Speaker:

So it's really not just doing something static necessarily, and just talking

Speaker:

all the way through, but it's actually showing different things in it, changing

Speaker:

up, maybe with transitions, and that just makes it more engaging to watch.

Speaker:

And it holds the attention of people.

Speaker:

I've also noticed that when I posted reels and I put some animations, whether it's

Speaker:

like special effects and things like that.

Speaker:

those have actually performed better than those without special effects.

Speaker:

So I hope you guys are just as excited as I am about this announcement

Speaker:

of reels, and I hope you get out there and create some content.
