The History Guy Podcast features the tales of two grisly crimes, neither of which were ever solved. The first is the story of the Saxtown Axe murders, in which in 1874 a family of five German immigrants was attacked in the middle of the night. The second tale is about the killer the press dubbed the "Servant Girl Annihilator", who began brutally attacking servants in the growing city of Austin, Texas in 1884. Only a few years later similarly brutal crimes took place in London, leading Texas papers to wonder if the man in Austin had gone to London to become Jack the Ripper.
