Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1202 of our trek, and it is time for a 3-minute mini-trek called Humor Unplugged. Our Thursday podcast will provide a short and clean funny story to help you lighten up and live a rich and satisfying life – something to cheer you and provide a bit a levity in your life.
We are told in Proverbs 15:30, “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health.” We are also encouraged in Proverbs 17:22, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” Consider this your vitamin supplement of cheer for today. The Anesthesiologist
Nurse Sam was the manager of the hospital’s softball team, and it was his responsibility for returning equipment to the proper owners at the end of the season.
When Sam walked into the surgery department carrying a bat that belonged to Dr. Howard, the heart surgeon, he passed several patients and their families in a waiting area while whistling a happy tune. Most of the patients looked warily at Sam as he was dressed in his nurse uniform, ready for his shift to start.
Frank, who was sitting next to his wife Sarah, who was waiting for heart surgery, blurted out, “Look, honey, here comes your anesthesiologist.”
I hope that brought a smile to your face today. If it did, please pass that smile onto someone else who may need a smile. Our Thursday thought is “No matter how serious the situation is, there is always a reason to smile and laugh.”
We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”
