What’s the basement in your house look like? Is it a place you don’t mind spending time in? Or does your family draw straws to see who has to go down to get hamburger out of the freezer? I’m Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite.
If your basement isn’t the kind of space you want to be in–even for a few minutes–the good news is that a simple paint job can work miracles down there. Now, the project isn’t complicated, but it does take a little work. And, as with all paint projects, it starts with prep work.
In this instance, you need to first check that space for moisture issues. It could be as obvious as standing water from time to time . . . or it could be a persistent damp and musty smell. You could have mold or mildew down there and it’s very possible you could see a white fuzzy substance seemingly growing from the walls. Start by taking a look and noting what you see. There are solutions to most of it all and you’ll want to make sure you address these moisture issues before you start painting. We’ll talk about some things you can do next time. Or, if you don’t want to wait, stop out at any RepcoLite or Port City Paints and we’ll get you started down the right path. Im Dan Hansen and that’s a minute at RepcoLite.
