Speaker:
00:00:00
Welcome, creative, spiritual journey,
friends to the new beginning meditation,
2
:
00:00:06
where we're gonna practice showing
up, staying in the moment, and when
3
:
00:00:11
our mind wanders off, which it will.
4
:
00:00:14
Coming back into the now moment,
this meditation can be done anywhere.
5
:
00:00:20
While you're driving, working in
your kitchen or sitting quietly
6
:
00:00:25
on your couch, preferably in the
morning before you step out into
7
:
00:00:29
the noise and the chaos of the day.
8
:
00:00:33
Much like sitting and witnessing
a sunrise in our last episode
9
:
00:00:40
titled It is Never Too Late.
10
:
00:00:42
To Begin, I asked the question.
11
:
00:00:47
What if it weren't too late for you?
12
:
00:00:49
What would you do And then I had you think
of something you've always desired to
13
:
00:00:55
learn, and listen to your heart and choose
one small step to begin with I love the
14
:
00:01:03
scripture in Alma 37, 6 that says, now
you suppose that is foolishness in me.
15
:
00:01:10
But behold, I say unto you that
by small and simple things are
16
:
00:01:13
great things brought to pass.
17
:
00:01:15
this is telling us that by these
small and simple things that we
18
:
00:01:20
choose to meditate upon to begin
again, can lead to great things.
19
:
00:01:27
In this meditation, we will
nourish our beginner's mindset.
20
:
00:01:31
Have you ever heard of that?
21
:
00:01:32
Well, in the teachings of Zen, there
is a quote in the beginner's mind.
22
:
00:01:38
There are infinite possibilities.
23
:
00:01:41
In the expert mind, there are few.
24
:
00:01:45
So the beginner's mind, I think,
of becoming like a child humble.
25
:
00:01:50
Teachable.
26
:
00:01:52
What if we could have this beautiful
blend, a dance of the beginner's mind,
27
:
00:01:58
this being a little child with the expert
mind of the wisdom that we have gained.
28
:
00:02:06
From years of experience on the
journey and letting go of those
29
:
00:02:11
fears and lies and those things that
it's too late for us to begin again.
30
:
00:02:16
So this meditation is a practice
where we're gonna ask ourselves this
31
:
00:02:20
question, am I willing to begin?
32
:
00:02:23
Again?
33
:
00:02:24
This is not like a board game
where you're sent back to the
34
:
00:02:28
beginning and have to start over.
35
:
00:02:30
It is more like being on a backpacking
trip and the new dawn where we pick
36
:
00:02:35
up our packs and look at the map
and chart our course for the day.
37
:
00:02:41
A new day, a new beginning, I guess you
could call it being born again, changing
38
:
00:02:46
our heart, changing the direction of
our course, Having an open, humble heart
39
:
00:02:54
Okay, let's begin by getting comfortable,
40
:
00:03:00
taking in a nice, deep breath.
41
:
00:03:02
I'm going to give you a
moment to set up this space.
42
:
00:03:05
Please try to find somewhere
where you can just listen to my
43
:
00:03:10
words and not be interrupted.
44
:
00:03:13
Place of quiet of stillness.
45
:
00:03:26
Breathe in through the nose
and down into the belly.
46
:
00:03:29
We just allow our body and our
mind to hush into this a moment
47
:
00:03:34
of infinite possibilities,
48
:
00:03:38
and just follow my words.
49
:
00:03:41
Remember, creativity often begins
where no one can see it like roots.
50
:
00:03:47
Of a planted tree, the small and simple,
51
:
00:04:00
Today I am open to beginning again,
52
:
00:04:07
an open heart, an open mind.
53
:
00:04:20
I am receiving.
54
:
00:04:24
I am receiving inspiration,
enlightenment, and guidance.
55
:
00:04:40
I am grateful, grateful for the
beauties and oz of this journey,
56
:
00:04:57
and I am giving, giving away
my fears and uncertainties.
57
:
00:05:04
To the Lord.
58
:
00:05:15
Okay.
59
:
00:05:15
We're just gonna sense for a moment
where we're feeling that in our bodies.
60
:
00:05:22
Breathing in again,
61
:
00:05:26
that light.
62
:
00:05:28
Let it just wash through You.
63
:
00:05:30
Wash out the noise.
64
:
00:05:33
The fears,
65
:
00:05:37
maybe even the wiggles, depending on
what you're feeling right now, and let's
66
:
00:05:45
just settle into it again, Joey breathing
in today, I am open to beginning again.
67
:
00:05:58
Aware that there are an infinite amount
of possibilities that lie out before me.
68
:
00:06:13
I am receiving guidance.
69
:
00:06:19
To know what the next step
is, courage to take it.
70
:
00:06:36
I am grateful for the joys and even
the bumps and falls along the way.
71
:
00:06:45
It's all learning,
72
:
00:06:59
and I am giving.
73
:
00:07:02
I am giving my heart to
be changed, strengthened
74
:
00:07:10
to become new
75
:
00:07:13
breathing in settling into that space.
76
:
00:07:17
Take.
77
:
00:07:17
Good, good breath in.
78
:
00:07:19
You're doing great.
79
:
00:07:21
Let's do it again.
80
:
00:07:25
Today I am open to beginning
again, mindful of what the
81
:
00:07:33
Lord has in store for me.
82
:
00:07:48
I am receiving with.
83
:
00:07:51
Gratitude, inspiration and guidance
to know what the next step is.
84
:
00:08:11
I am grateful for the
infinite possibilities,
85
:
00:08:20
the grace, the strength
I am receiving with.
86
:
00:08:24
to step forward.
87
:
00:08:44
I am giving.
88
:
00:08:46
I am giving encouragement
and shining my light.
89
:
00:08:53
I am giving a hand up
to my fellow travelers.
90
:
00:08:59
I am giving my heart.
91
:
00:09:19
What small and simple step
92
:
00:09:23
can you take today?
93
:
00:09:28
Just take this moment to listen.
94
:
00:09:32
To ponder, pray.
95
:
00:09:46
Think about how God has left
the world unfinished for a
96
:
00:09:49
man to work his skill upon.
97
:
00:09:52
It's a beautiful thought.
98
:
00:09:53
He's left your life unfinished so that you
and I have the challenge of raw materials,
99
:
00:10:03
not the ease of finished things.
100
:
00:10:06
He leaves the pictures unpainted and
the music un sung, and the problems
101
:
00:10:11
unsolved that you and I might know the
joys and the glory of creation, the joys.
102
:
00:10:22
And the wonderment of being a beginner,
you are never too old to begin again.
103
:
00:10:30
So shore up that courage,
take in that deep breath.
104
:
00:10:36
What beautiful experience
awaits you today?
105
:
00:10:43
on your journey?
106
:
00:10:45
We'll have to pick up our packs
and set our course to discover that
107
:
00:10:51
wonder and that infinite possibility.
108
:
00:10:55
What will it be I.
109
:
00:10:58
I'm so grateful you've joined me today.
110
:
00:11:01
Now take your time here.
111
:
00:11:03
Just breathing.
112
:
00:11:06
Enjoying that beautiful sunrise,
the beginning of a new day,
113
:
00:11:16
and I hope to see you on the trail.
114
:
00:11:21
Namaste.
