For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Paul. Romans 8:15. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 3 of 30 Days of Pushing Back Fear. Not spirit of bondage, but of adoption. A child. A WANTED child. Some of you know the joy of being *chosen* in the sacred act of adoption. Most of us just happen to have the parents we have. Now, don’t get me wrong—I’m grateful for my parents, and I’m quite sure my kids are, too. But it just kind of happened that way. Except for one. My adopted son. He was chosen. Every child who’s experienced adoption has been through trauma—so adoption carries its own unique pain—yet one thing is essentially true: adoption, means being chosen. God has chosen YOU. While you have the ability to turn that down—it’s still a most beautiful truth: you are chosen.
