Today, we're going to talk about the ripple effect of kindness.
-:
In a world that feels fast paced and disconnected, kindness has the remarkable ability to bridge divides, heal wounds, and uplift the human spirit.
-:
It's a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries and touches the lives of people.
-:
Kindness is not just a fleeting act, it's a way of being, a conscious choice to bring warmth and compassion into our interactions with others and ourself.
-:
I was guilty of being deeply unkind to myself.
-:
In my drinking days, it felt like a never ending cycle of beating myself up for actions I'd taken, feeling guilty, feeling
-:
shame, and then doing it all again.
-:
I do believe that kindness begins with an inner shift, a real desire to extend empathy, understanding and care to those around us and ourselves.
-:
When we choose to be kind we do create a ripple effect that can transform our relationships.
-:
Acts of kindness, no matter how tiny, do have the potential to bright someone's day, restore faith in humanity, and inspire others to follow suit.
-:
Kindness is an action that requires us to sometimes step out of our comfort zone and extend ourselves.
-:
Engaging in acts of kindness can have profound effects on both the giver and the receiver.
-:
When we actively seek opportunities to do nice things, we create a sense of connection and purpose in our lives whilst also
-:
having a positive impact on those people around us.
-:
One of the nicest aspects of kindness is its contagious nature.
-:
When we share acts of kindness, we set off a chain reaction of positivity.
-:
Of course, it can be as simple as sharing uplifting stories, expressing thankfulness, or just saying encouraging words.
-:
In today's interconnected world, technology allows us to extend kindness even beyond our immediate surroundings.
-:
Social media platforms can connect life like minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference.
-:
I also see the opportunities where people have perhaps said not the kindest of things on other people's posts.
-:
There's an opportunity to intervene and spread a little bit of lightness.
-:
Kindness doesn't only benefit those on the receiving end, but it feels good to us too.
-:
Numerous studies have shown that acts of kindness release endorphins, reduce stress levels, and enhance our overall overall feeling of well-being.
-:
Being kind promotes a sense of belonging, and it fosters positive relationships.
-:
Kindness has the potential to break down barriers and mend what has gone before.
-:
In order to really embrace kindness as a way of life, it's important to have it as a mindset.
-:
This involves practicing self compassion, being mindful of our thoughts and our actions, and consciously choose in kindness in our daily interactions.
-:
My children are teenagers, and not everything that comes out of their mouths is deeply kind, not all of their actions are
-:
thoughtful at the moment, it really helps me to take a deep breath and consider my actions and reactions with kindness.
-:
Let's embrace kindness as a way of being, recognizing its immense power to uplift us all.
-:
I used to think that kindness was a bit fluffy.
-:
I used to have a much harder exterior than I do now. Not anymore. Not anymore. I'm all about the kindness.
-:
Thank you so much for listening today.
