Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is day 485 of our trek, and it is Tuesday and time for our 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom each Tuesday and Thursday. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Epictetus, who says, “He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.”content-wiseAll of life is made up of victories and defeats, of gains and losses, and we all experience them. It takes a wise person to realize and understand that we are caretakers of anything that we possess in life. We are stewards of what God has given to us. This includes material blessings and also relationships.

We should not grieve if we are no longer called to take care of certain possessions or people but rejoice for the opportunity that we had. We should not grieve that certain seasons of life are now coming to an end but rejoice that we were in that season of life for a time.

All of life is made up of cycles and seasons. They come and go just like the ocean ebbs and flows. Let us focus and rejoice, instead, on everything that we currently have the opportunity to care for.

Let us pray for strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. Let us rejoice in that which we do possess today. Let us take to heart the word the Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11-13, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”content-and-wiseThat’s a wrap for today’s Wisdom Unplugged. If you enjoy these quotes, I have created and published a searchable database of over 10,000 quotes that I have collected for many years. If you would like access to my database of inspirational quotes, the link is available on the main page of Wisdom-Trek.com.

So encourage your friends and family to join us, and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy. Thank you for allowing me to be your guide, mentor, and most importantly your friend as I serve you through the Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal each day.content-rich
