Cherishing thoughts of him, keeps us going, hanging on for one aching mile, after aching mile, pressing toward a successful finish. When the adrenaline fades, his beautiful smile is an energy shot, flushing our muscles with renewed energy to push through one more day—month. Moment. In the face of driving rain or blinding grief. Throbbing feet or breaking heart. Blazing heat or raging addiction. A vision of Jesus keeps us going. Listen, anybody can put a foot in the race—but only those with hearts riveted on Jesus—entranced by his love—will put a foot across the finish line.
