Intrigued by the idea of a Renaissance happening in El Salvador due to Bitcoin, Manvir prayed for guidance. Unexpectedly, visions of prisons flooded her mind.

At the "Thank God for Bitcoin" conference in Miami, Manvir sought connections with fellow Christians interested in Bitcoin.

Join us as we explore the transformative power of Bitcoin and the intersection of faith and technology. Manvir's story includes connections between Bitcoin, personal faith, and the potential for positive change.

Tali:

Hi, everyone.

Tali:

Welcome to Orange Hatter.

Tali:

Today, you're listening to my conversation with Manvir.

Tali:

Hi, Manvir.

Tali:

Welcome to Orange Hatter.

Tali:

It is so wonderful to have you here chatting with us today.

Tali:

Thank you so much.

Manvir:

Thanks, Tali.

Manvir:

Thank you so much for having me.

Tali:

Thank you.

Tali:

And we'll just jump right into the first question, which is when did

Tali:

you first hear about Bitcoin and how long and what kind of journey?

Manvir:

Did you embark on to get to the point of trusting

Manvir:

it enough to enter the space?

Manvir:

Super great question.

Manvir:

So.

Manvir:

In 2008, I had attended a financial trip and, and in it, you know, there was a

Manvir:

lot of really high net worth people.

Manvir:

And the context of the trip was, you know,

Manvir:

the markets are about to crash, you need to sell all your real estate.

Manvir:

And, you know, they had all these All these things in it.

Manvir:

And I, I

Manvir:

sat there a little baffled.

Manvir:

I was like, how do these guys know?

Manvir:

Right.

Manvir:

And at the end of the trip on the final day, um, the, the host of

Manvir:

the trip, you know, he, he put up a slide and it was something to the

Manvir:

extent of the federal reserve is not run by the federal government.

Manvir:

And as a immigrant to this country, like I'm a U S citizen, but in that moment.

Manvir:

Like, it was like everything

Manvir:

that I believed about America and the, you know, the country we live

Manvir:

in and all of these things just sort of, it felt like traumatic.

Manvir:

Like, what do you mean that the money that everybody works

Manvir:

for is not?

Manvir:

Run by the government, like it's a

Manvir:

private entity that controls

Manvir:

how much money is being printed, and then there's no accounting of it.

Manvir:

And then there's laws that are passed where

Manvir:

the people can't even ask

Manvir:

for the accounting of the money.

Manvir:

And I, I

Manvir:

was

Manvir:

just like, it felt like a trauma is the only way I can describe it because

Manvir:

it's like, okay, so everybody's here, everybody's working for money,

Manvir:

it comes like it's not from the government, it's just a private entity.

Manvir:

And we're all in this system.

Manvir:

And so that was a lot to sit with.

Manvir:

And I was like, Okay, well, there has to be a better way.

Manvir:

And so so in 2013, I had heard about Transcripts Like same group and they

Manvir:

had brought in Bitcoin or they had a speaker who was talking about it.

Manvir:

I at that time I understood like nothing about it.

Manvir:

It didn't make sense to me And I the speaker probably spoke to

Manvir:

him for an hour or so and it was

Manvir:

probably In the context of all the other financial speakers, which were

Manvir:

like way above my head of, okay, and this market and you invest this way.

Manvir:

I was like, I can't even make heads or tails of this, right?

Manvir:

Like this doesn't make sense to me.

Manvir:

So it took me a long time and plus in between I'd

Manvir:

had, um, I'd had a concussion.

Manvir:

And so learning was like really difficult.

Manvir:

However, what brought me to this

Manvir:

point and this conversation with you, Tali, is that

Manvir:

I'm highly intuitive and I, I

Manvir:

pray a lot and, uh, and we met at the, thank God for Bitcoin conference in me.

Manvir:

So I'm

Manvir:

somebody who trusts my intuition and I believe that I'm, I believe that

Manvir:

I'm guided and I've had very mystical experiences my entire life, I've had

Manvir:

the opportunity to be in places and

Manvir:

witness

Manvir:

many miracles.

Manvir:

Back in the late 1990s, I worked in tech in Silicon Valley when

Manvir:

websites were first being created.

Manvir:

And I remember the excitement and the energy of, wow, we're going to change

Manvir:

the world because we have websites.

Manvir:

Right.

Manvir:

And so now here's this energy of like, wow, you know.

Manvir:

Bitcoin, right?

Manvir:

Like, Oh, this is gonna, this is going to change

Manvir:

everything.

Manvir:

And I felt like the same excitement around Bitcoin, but I was like, is

Manvir:

this actually, is this

Manvir:

actually going to do something?

Manvir:

I'd followed sort of Max and Stacey and Stacey had posted on Twitter that the

Manvir:

Renaissance is happening in El Salvador.

Manvir:

Right.

Manvir:

And I was like, wow,

Manvir:

what does that even mean?

Manvir:

The Renaissance.

Manvir:

Who doesn't want to go to a place where there's a renaissance happening, right?

Manvir:

Even though you don't even have any idea what a renaissance

Manvir:

means, it just sounds cool.

Manvir:

It kind of reminded me of Silicon Valley back in the 90s.

Manvir:

So much excitement of, you know, all the good that we're creating.

Manvir:

And so I was praying

Manvir:

about it.

Manvir:

I was like, okay, well, you know, Bitcoin is in El Salvador.

Manvir:

And

Manvir:

Stacey is saying that the renaissance is happening because Bitcoin is

Manvir:

there.

Manvir:

I was like, okay, maybe I should like go there on a

Manvir:

trip this summer.

Manvir:

Go check out El Salvador and see, see what the Renaissance is all

Manvir:

about.

Manvir:

So here I

Manvir:

was

Manvir:

praying about El Salvador and this, and like, my prayers are very practical.

Manvir:

It's like.

Manvir:

Okay, God, I think I want to go to El Salvador, and

Manvir:

in that moment, like, all I started seeing was like visions of like,

Manvir:

prisons, and these men in prisons.

Manvir:

And I mean, I was

Manvir:

just gut wrenchingly sick, I was having physical reactions.

Manvir:

And I was, I was beside myself, I couldn't

Manvir:

understand like, wow, you know, I'm, and it was a lot, it lasted for a day.

Manvir:

And I, um, I thought like it was so weird and it was

Manvir:

like, I'm a mom.

Manvir:

I've got two boys, you know, you know, I live in Washington.

Manvir:

I don't, I mean, I'm Indian.

Manvir:

There's like, there's like

Manvir:

no connection between any of.

Manvir:

Any of that stuff, right?

Manvir:

And so, so I reached out to the head of my ministry school.

Manvir:

I'm in a, I'm in a two year long ministry program through, through a church here.

Manvir:

And mind you, I'm not like, you know, I'm not somebody who's

Manvir:

like a Bible thumper, like has

Manvir:

like, you know, read the Bible back to.

Manvir:

You know, front to back, super religious.

Manvir:

I mean, I pray

Manvir:

I try and, you know, do unto others as you'd want to have done unto you and

Manvir:

just be a good person in the world.

Manvir:

Right.

Manvir:

And

Manvir:

anyway, so, so I contacted

Manvir:

my, the head of my ministry school and was like, Deborah, can

Manvir:

I like schedule

Manvir:

a meeting with you?

Manvir:

I'm having

Manvir:

all these visions.

Manvir:

I'm go, I said, I prayed about going to El Salvador and I'm

Manvir:

having like visions of the prison

Manvir:

there.

Manvir:

And she's like, okay, so we set up a meeting.

Manvir:

And so then prior to that, I, you know, we went on the

Manvir:

internet and started researching about the prisons and so forth.

Manvir:

What I discovered was that El Salvador at one time had a really high crime rate.

Manvir:

The new president, in order to, to, he took drastic measures to stop

Manvir:

the crime.

Manvir:

To stop the crime and they basically I think they took away some civil

Manvir:

liberties that they had that were part of their constitution and had it

Manvir:

basically that anyone that was associated with the gangs gangs could be arrested

Manvir:

without without cause and so basically.

Manvir:

The police had gathered up.

Manvir:

I want to say around 64 65, 000 people when I read on the Internet, like 57,

Manvir:

000 of them have yet to be processed.

Manvir:

So they gathered up that that many people in the last year.

Manvir:

And then also these men.

Manvir:

Are being held in cells that are 10 meters by 10 meters and there's a

Manvir:

hundred of them packed in one cell with two toilets and two sinks.

Manvir:

And so it's not like American prisons where they're, you know, lifting weights

Manvir:

and then they're outside and they're playing volleyball or

Manvir:

whatever, you know, they're, they're like packed in there and

Manvir:

they're not allowed to leave.

Manvir:

I think there's over 3000 humanitarian complaints that have been posted

Manvir:

or, you know, filed and so forth.

Manvir:

And so, I mean, as you can only imagine, like,

Manvir:

I'm there going, okay, I'm praying about going to El Salvador because of

Manvir:

Bitcoin, because I want to check out the renaissance that's happening, and God,

Manvir:

You're showing me, like, the prisons of El Salvador, like, what is it?

Manvir:

What is it?

Manvir:

Like...

Manvir:

what is it that You'd like me to do?

Manvir:

Right.

Manvir:

And so I was on the On a call with Deb and I said, you know, I said, I said,

Manvir:

what I got was just to go there and to, to ask to like, pray with them.

Manvir:

I'm not out there to like reform anybody or convert

Manvir:

anybody into anything, right?

Manvir:

El Salvador is,

Manvir:

I think it's like 80% Catholic or Christian.

Manvir:

So, you know, the, that's the major religion there anyway.

Manvir:

And on top of that, El Salvador means.

Manvir:

The Savior, right?

Manvir:

As I was like, praying into this, I was like, Okay, God, like, what

Manvir:

is like, what is Your vision?

Manvir:

And, you know, in the Bible, it, it says, even the least,

Manvir:

like, Jesus's promises are, even

Manvir:

the least amongst you will be able to do what all that I can do and more.

Manvir:

My prayer always growing up was like, okay, God, if

Manvir:

that's, if that's true, like,

Manvir:

show me and I'll just follow, right?

Manvir:

And so I've been blessed to be able to experience and witness miracles, right?

Manvir:

And God's grace of like healing and And so forth.

Manvir:

And, you know, I'm not on social media, really, or, you

Manvir:

know, doing blogs or websites and so forth.

Manvir:

I'm a really private

Manvir:

person, but this vision

Manvir:

came.

Manvir:

So I was like, okay, I'm

Manvir:

going to step out into faith to see what happens.

Manvir:

So I got, I got on the call with Deb and she's like, okay, well,

Manvir:

let's, let's pray about this.

Manvir:

Like, what do you think?

Manvir:

Like, let's pray about this.

Manvir:

Like, what do you think is the net?

Manvir:

Yeah.

Manvir:

Next right step.

Manvir:

And I was like, okay, well, I really wanted to go to El

Manvir:

Salvador because of Bitcoin and

Manvir:

well, there's a Bitcoin conference happening in Miami.

Manvir:

So

Manvir:

like I said, I think I should go there.

Manvir:

Right.

Manvir:

And just.

Manvir:

Share like, Hey,

Manvir:

I was praying and I had this vision and she's like, okay, well, let's

Manvir:

just pray that you run into some Christian people that are into Bitcoin.

Manvir:

I

Manvir:

said, okay, so we prayed

Manvir:

about it and literally that evening I was on a, like a zoom call and it was, it was

Manvir:

Pom's class to like, learn about Bitcoin.

Manvir:

So I'm on this zoom call and I shared, I was like, Hey

Manvir:

guys, like had this vision.

Manvir:

I think I'm supposed to go to El Salvador.

Manvir:

And maybe I'll come to the Bitcoin conference.

Manvir:

And do you guys know, like, Christian people

Manvir:

that are into God and Bitcoin?

Manvir:

Right?

Manvir:

And the guy, like, literally, he's on the, he's on the call and

Manvir:

he's like, Well, maybe you're,

Manvir:

you know, there's a thank God for Bitcoin

Manvir:

conference that happens before the actual Bitcoin conference.

Manvir:

I was like, of course there is, thank You, God, like, so

Manvir:

I ended up going there and then that's where, that's where I met you and then,

Manvir:

you know, fast forward, you know, all, all of the pieces of me being able

Manvir:

to get there, like the ticket, the hotel, like all of that just flowed

Manvir:

in, like when you're on the right path.

Manvir:

Things will appear or, you know, like God's grace will open doors like,

Manvir:

okay, the vision that I had received was in the Bible again, back to the

Manvir:

whole, the promises of like, even the least amongst you will be able

Manvir:

to do all that I can do and more.

Manvir:

And what I saw was that.

Manvir:

Of course, these prisoners are the, you know, would be considered

Manvir:

the least amongst us, right?

Manvir:

And now if you can imagine, there's so many tightly locked in and they have

Manvir:

like less than one square meter each.

Manvir:

And now like I'm somebody who can like feel people's energy.

Manvir:

I can like feel your thoughts.

Manvir:

And so if I'm in close proximity, I can, I can't even begin to imagine Or

Manvir:

I actually I can't imagine because I felt it all these these young men who

Manvir:

are in these confined spaces together and if their minds have like despair,

Manvir:

anger, rage, depression, you know, like All, all sorts of negative emotions and

Manvir:

there's like no hope in that context, the energy of them collectively thinking

Manvir:

this way must be horrendous to be around.

Manvir:

And so the, the, the vision that I received, you know, I mean, I'm not

Manvir:

there to judge, like, who's guilty, who's innocent and so forth, but I

Manvir:

do believe that there's probably.

Manvir:

Some people that might have been swept up in all these raids to

Manvir:

gather so many people so quickly that might be innocent that are in there.

Manvir:

And even if there's one person who's innocent, who's locked away

Manvir:

like that, it's not okay, right?

Manvir:

The vision that I received was...

Manvir:

imagine if you have the men that have faith in God, like, if those hundred

Manvir:

are now, like, in a cell together, And now their, their mind has the

Manvir:

peace of God bestowed upon them.

Manvir:

And now imagine the magnitude of their minds, like connected together with,

Manvir:

with the sense of peace and of hope.

Manvir:

And, and I don't know what would open up for them.

Manvir:

For example, I mean, I'm here in Seattle.

Manvir:

I have zero connection.

Manvir:

Like, you know, with El Salvador, I've never been, I don't speak

Manvir:

like, I mean, I took Spanish in high school, which was decades ago.

Manvir:

Uh, you

Manvir:

know, here

Manvir:

I am this mom and in

Manvir:

Washington, like praying about going on a vacation to see a renaissance.

Manvir:

And I get this vision.

Manvir:

So we have no

Manvir:

idea what the human what our human capabilities are.

Manvir:

I believe that what's happening in the prisons will actually be part of

Manvir:

this renaissance of unlocking human capabilities, because now as these 100

Manvir:

men are like confined and together, imagine if they could take, I mean,

Manvir:

maybe they can take their states of consciousness to a much higher level

Manvir:

because they're confined and together.

Manvir:

There's pieces in the Bible where it's like, you know, what somebody used to

Manvir:

harm you, I will use for your good.

Manvir:

Imagine something like what the sense I was feeling was something

Manvir:

extraordinary is going to happen there.

Tali:

Yeah.

Tali:

I mean, it's such an incredible story and you're right in that, you...

Tali:

God likes to direct you in surprising ways, right?

Tali:

You were actually praying for a vacation and He was like, no, no, no, no.

Tali:

You're actually going, going this direction.

Tali:

Thank you for joining us today.

Tali:

We will continue this conversation tomorrow.

Tali:

Be sure to come back and hear the rest.
