Mom used to buy something called Ice Milk when I was growing up. She said it was exactly the same as Ice Cream. Nope. Not even close. I’m Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite.

I talked about some of the scarring Ice Milk events from my childhood last time. Now I have to make the paint point. And I’ll try to do that by stating once again: Ice Milk isn’t Ice Cream. It’s just not. Brussel Sprouts aren’t Asparagus. Baseballs aren’t basketballs. And Satin Sheen isn’t Eggshell.

See. Every now and then we get customers in at Repcolite who’ve been to another paint store. And these customers will ask: is Satin Sheen really just the same as Eggshell?

They’ve been assured it was by other stores who don’t offer an eggshell finish. They’ve been told not to worry–that satin looks just like an eggshell on the walls. But that’s just not right. Satin sheen is a shinier finish than an eggshell. Period. There’s no comparing the two–they’re different. Just like Ice Milk isn’t Ice Cream.

If you want an eggshell finish on your walls, you need to get an eggshell. A satin finish isn’t going to do it.

We’ll dig a bit more tomorrow. I’m Dan Hansen and that’s a Minute at RepcoLite.
