Shownotes

This podcast episode emphasizes the crucial lesson that God is in charge of our lives and the events we encounter, urging listeners to stop complaining about their circumstances. Dr. David Spoon shares personal insights and biblical references to illustrate how our perceptions of control can often be misguided. He highlights the importance of understanding God's sovereignty, particularly through the story of Pharaoh's hardened heart in Exodus and the overarching themes in the Book of Daniel. The episode also touches on the significance of prayer and community support, as illustrated by a listener's offer to help others in need. With a mix of humor and heartfelt messages, Spoon encourages listeners to trust in God’s plan, reminding them of the strength and comfort found in faith amidst life's challenges.

The David Spoon Experience captivates its audience with an eclectic mix of humor and heartfelt discussion, starting with an engaging introduction that emphasizes the necessity of laughter in life. Dr. Spoon draws from Ecclesiastes 3:4 to remind listeners that joy is an essential part of the human experience, setting the stage for a lively show that intertwines spiritual reflection with lighthearted moments. He introduces his signature segment, Diamonds of the Day (DDDDDS), where he transforms daily devotions into practical insights for living a faith-filled life. This segment serves as a springboard for a broader conversation about Bible study practices, encouraging listeners to think critically about their own study habits and what may enhance their understanding of scripture.

As the show unfolds, Dr. Spoon invites audience participation, promoting a sense of community and shared experience. He shares a touching email from Jeff Gross, who offers his services to help others in need, highlighting the importance of love and support among Christians. This not only emphasizes the spirit of fellowship but also serves as a reminder that everyone has something valuable to contribute to their community. With ongoing encouragement for listeners to share their prayer requests and testimonies, Dr. Spoon fosters an environment where personal stories can be shared and prayers can be lifted for one another, reinforcing the power of collective faith and support.

The latter part of the episode delves into a profound teaching on divine sovereignty, focusing on the story of Pharaoh as recounted in Exodus. Dr. Spoon passionately argues that God is in control of all events and challenges listeners to reconsider their complaints about life's difficulties. By presenting the idea that God has a purpose behind every circumstance, he encourages listeners to trust in His plan, even when it seems unclear or frustrating. This pivotal teaching serves as a powerful reminder that faith involves surrendering our need for understanding and embracing the belief that God’s ways are higher than our own. Throughout the episode, listeners are left with a sense of hope and a renewed commitment to trust in God’s overarching authority and goodness in their lives.

It's Dr.

Dr. David Spoon:

Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DDDDDDS, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.

Dr. David Spoon:

Sound effects plays throughout the show which have nothing to do with life.

Dr. David Spoon:

But the Bible teaches there's a time to laugh In Ecclesiastes 3, 4.

Dr. David Spoon:

And many of you really need to learn how to laugh.

Dr. David Spoon:

No, really, seriously.

Dr. David Spoon:

The review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.

Dr. David Spoon:

We hope before this introduction is over, life lessons for our faith that we can actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?

Dr. David Spoon:

Cause I still don't qualify to work at Whataburger, that's why.

Dr. David Spoon:

Also Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.

Dr. David Spoon:

Living this life, not always easy running in.

Dr. David Spoon:

Welcome to.

Dr. David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, Local, national and heavenly talk.

Dr. David Spoon:

My name is Dr.

Dr. David Spoon:

David Spoon.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.

Dr. David Spoon:

Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.

Dr. David Spoon:

Here is the key to the show.

Dr. David Spoon:

We have absolutely no idea what we're doing.

Dr. David Spoon:

We really don't know what's gonna happen.

Dr. David Spoon:

And if you ask Jim and Jacob and myself, we don't care that much.

Dr. David Spoon:

Here's why we wanna do this thing in the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

And for the next few minutes, I wanna talk Jesus with you.

Dr. David Spoon:

So here we go.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

Dr. David Spoon:

That thingy right there.

Dr. David Spoon:

I came up with a really unique question and that works for me.

Dr. David Spoon:

Cause it challenged me myself.

Dr. David Spoon:

And so I'm asking you to consider it as well.

Dr. David Spoon:

What could you do on a daily basis that could help help you in your Bible study time?

Dr. David Spoon:

Now by that, this is what I mean.

Dr. David Spoon:

Do you need to have a different location where you study the Bible?

Dr. David Spoon:

Do you need to have notes along with it?

Dr. David Spoon:

Are you like me and you just need a bigger font?

Dr. David Spoon:

Cause you know it's harder to see.

Dr. David Spoon:

Do you need more quiet time when you're studying the Bible?

Dr. David Spoon:

What would help you think about this?

Dr. David Spoon:

This would really help me, Dave, if I had some notes that were going along with it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Or this would really help me if I was reading a translation that was a little easier for me to grasp.

Dr. David Spoon:

Or maybe this would help me if I could just see the letters.

Dr. David Spoon:

What would help you in your Bible study time?

Dr. David Spoon:

If you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or your own question, please don't let it die of loneliness.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just reach out and give us Ahala.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

Jacob.

Dr. David Spoon:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like a peaceful day and evening with no drama.

Dr. David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

Dr. David Spoon:

Happy Friday.

Dr. David Spoon:

And now I want Whataburger.

Dr. David Spoon:

Now you want a Whataburger.

Dr. David Spoon:

See?

Dr. David Spoon:

See that power there?

Dr. David Spoon:

Here's what I want people to know, and it's really this simple.

Dr. David Spoon:

So my family has exited, and we'll talk about that in a little while.

Dr. David Spoon:

And Dave, Dr.

Dr. David Spoon:

Dave's a little tired.

Dr. David Spoon:

You might know, in the middle of me teaching, when I start doing this, you'll understand why and I'll explain that as we go on.

Dr. David Spoon:

But first of all, you know, you can call us and it won't hurt you.

Dr. David Spoon:

We just don't want you to ask Jacob his life story.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, cool.

Dr. David Spoon:

Next, you can also text us.

Dr. David Spoon:

Text?

Dr. David Spoon:

What's that?

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, you don't want to worry about that then if you're not sure what a text is.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

That is the Ministry phone number, but during the show it's only for text.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

Dr. David Spoon:

And if I have to tell you what email is, I cannot help you.

Dr. David Spoon:

Our email davidemustincrease.org David D A V I D.

Dr. David Spoon:

David, my name with a circle.

Dr. David Spoon:

He must increase from John 3:30.

Dr. David Spoon:

Hemustincreaseimustdecrease.org because we're a nonprofit entity.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

Well, I'll tell you why.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because maybe you've got a praise report and it's on your heart and you want a place to share it.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is a great one right here.

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe it's A testimony.

Dr. David Spoon:

I don't care what you call it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Did the Lord do something?

Dr. David Spoon:

Share it.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's what we're looking for.

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe you've got something that you just really need prayer in and you want people to agree with you and you just wanna bring it before the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because God answers prayers and answered prayers change the world.

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe you've got something on your heart, just a scripture, something that you've come across, just so moved you, you just want to share it.

Dr. David Spoon:

We want to give you that opportunity and you have that opportunity.

Dr. David Spoon:

We'll also do things like Bible trivia.

Dr. David Spoon:

Any of those are reasons, plus many more.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you want to reach out to us and touch base.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let me tell you what I received today from our brother, Jeff Gross.

Dr. David Spoon:

Now, Jeff has been texting and giving answers for quite some time on our trivia, but he sent me an email today and I'm going to read it to you directly because it's better that way.

Dr. David Spoon:

But I want you to listen because what Jeff is showing is the very thing that Jesus talks about, about loving one another as Jesus loved us.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's that new command, remember?

Dr. David Spoon:

And he's exhibiting that very thing where it says, do good to all men, especially those of the household of God.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's what the scripture teaches.

Dr. David Spoon:

He writes this.

Dr. David Spoon:

Hi, David, how are you?

Dr. David Spoon:

My name is Jeff Gross.

Dr. David Spoon:

I have a painting company and I've been meaning to tell you that we're always excited to help our brothers and sisters in fixing up anything they need on their house.

Dr. David Spoon:

We do about everything there is in carpentry, tile flooring, painting, drywalling, all of that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Right?

Dr. David Spoon:

So carpentry, tile, flooring, painting, drywall, been doing that for about 30 years.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're always glad to help any of our brothers and sisters who can or cannot afford to pay for the work that needs to be done on their house.

Dr. David Spoon:

We will always work something out with them.

Dr. David Spoon:

So if asked, you know, for asking for prayers because they're having problems with work and they need help, this is what he's doing.

Dr. David Spoon:

He's offering his help.

Dr. David Spoon:

Are you hearing that?

Dr. David Spoon:

If you want to mention us on the radio, that'd be great.

Dr. David Spoon:

Please give my phone number to them.

Dr. David Spoon:

We usually do condos and apartment places during the week, but always looking to help people on the weekend.

Dr. David Spoon:

Thank you.

Dr. David Spoon:

His name is Jeff Gross.

Dr. David Spoon:

He will help you if you can pay.

Dr. David Spoon:

That is important to do, especially because a workman is worthy of his wage.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you need some help in working something out, Jeff is offering his service.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let me give you his phone.

Dr. David Spoon:

Number Some of you should jot this down.

Dr. David Spoon:

Down.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

We don't want you to take advantage, but we want you to embrace your brother's offer.

Dr. David Spoon:

And I'm sure that if he does something for you, you'll find a way to help and to respond to him in the right and appropriate way.

Dr. David Spoon:

But it's a really kind thing that Jeff is doing, and I want to point something out.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's the spirit that we're supposed to have.

Dr. David Spoon:

By this shall all men know that you are my disciples.

Dr. David Spoon:

By your love, one for another, Jeff Gross.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

It probably would help to say I heard that on the David Spoon experience.

Dr. David Spoon:

So at least he knows where it's coming from, Right?

Dr. David Spoon:

Very nice of him.

Dr. David Spoon:

Got that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Cool.

Dr. David Spoon:

All right, so there's a bunch of things I need to talk to you about.

Dr. David Spoon:

We are gonna be doing Jake's take In the other 60 minute part of the show.

Dr. David Spoon:

I do need everybody to be in prayer with me.

Dr. David Spoon:

My little doggy is not doing as good as he needs to be doing.

Dr. David Spoon:

In the last day or so since he's been home, he's having a little hard time breathing, and Bert's my little buddy, and I don't like that.

Dr. David Spoon:

He seemed to be doing decent enough where I can come and do the show.

Dr. David Spoon:

I think that's cool.

Dr. David Spoon:

But I just want to keep an eye on him.

Dr. David Spoon:

We thought about maybe taking him in today.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're going to give him a little time over the weekend and see how that goes.

Dr. David Spoon:

And then if it doesn't go as good as we want it to, then I'll take him in on Monday and then we'll have to do a replay.

Dr. David Spoon:

But I just want you guys praying for my little Bert, and you're thinking, well, is that important?

Dr. David Spoon:

Well, it's important to me and therefore, it's important to God because after all, he knows all the hairs on my head.

Dr. David Spoon:

Now, you could never tell how many follicles I have, but God could because you can't tell because I shaved my head.

Dr. David Spoon:

So that's why you couldn't probably tell.

Dr. David Spoon:

So anyway, be in prayer for that.

Dr. David Spoon:

We'd appreciate that.

Dr. David Spoon:

I would appreciate that personally.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

The last thing I want to tell you is that normally.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we just finished two John last week.

Dr. David Spoon:

Next week we're gonna be starting second Peter.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's a book I have not yet taught.

Dr. David Spoon:

So that should be a lot of Fun.

Dr. David Spoon:

In the meantime, today, if you're ready for it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Are you ready for it?

Dr. David Spoon:

You gotta get ready for it.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're gonna do something a little different, okay?

Dr. David Spoon:

We're gonna veer off the normal track and take a little different route.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm gonna teach a lesson and instead of starting into the book like I said, second Peter, I just want to do this teaching that's essential for us to be mature in our Christianity and understand who's in charge.

Dr. David Spoon:

Listen to what I'm going to say and why we should stop complaining about what happens in our lives.

Dr. David Spoon:

Dave, do we have to listen to this?

Dr. David Spoon:

Only if you want to hear the show.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm going to talk about why we should stop complaining about what happens in our lives.

Dr. David Spoon:

So if you've listened to the show over in the last week or so, or if you've gone to the website, on the website, on the very front, there's this word from the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's what I call it because I believe the Lord shared that with me.

Dr. David Spoon:

I do not believe that's the same level of scripture, but I do believe the Lord shared it.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's a very powerful word.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's about 18 minutes.

Dr. David Spoon:

And I just want to point this out.

Dr. David Spoon:

The big essence or takeaway from it is get ready to receive.

Dr. David Spoon:

And when I asked the Lord what I needed to do to do that, he said he wants me to believe.

Dr. David Spoon:

So I just think it's awesome.

Dr. David Spoon:

I've had the opportunity now.

Dr. David Spoon:

I've had probably in the last 72 hours, about 10 confirmations.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm not kidding you.

Dr. David Spoon:

People out of state, people in Arizona, people in Idaho, people all over the country, just like, wow, so cool, right?

Dr. David Spoon:

Get ready to receive.

Dr. David Spoon:

All right.

Dr. David Spoon:

What do we got to do to get ready?

Dr. David Spoon:

Lord believe.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, great, awesome.

Dr. David Spoon:

In lieu of that.

Dr. David Spoon:

And that's a very positive message.

Dr. David Spoon:

And I do think It's a very:

Dr. David Spoon:

I also want us to be aware, a very important point, and that is before we complain about the events in our life, let us take heed that God is in charge.

Dr. David Spoon:

You know, God doesn't get tired.

Dr. David Spoon:

He doesn't get weary.

Dr. David Spoon:

Right.

Dr. David Spoon:

Physically.

Dr. David Spoon:

Right.

Dr. David Spoon:

No limit to that.

Dr. David Spoon:

But he does get weary from our words.

Dr. David Spoon:

And the Lord says in Malachi, you have wearied me with your words.

Dr. David Spoon:

Like, oh, right, Let me read this text and you'll see where I'm heading with this.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just hang on.

Dr. David Spoon:

This could be a life changing teaching for some.

Dr. David Spoon:

We are in.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wait, somebody is calling in just a second.

Dr. David Spoon:

There Just before we get jumping into it, just before we get rolling into it, somewhere somebody does want to reach out, and we will give them that opportunity, then we'll jump into it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Odds are we won't be taking too much of a break in this first little teaching.

Dr. David Spoon:

But I will tell you, we're going to be picking it up basically in Exodus, chapter nine, roughly about verse eight through about verse 12.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

I guess that phone call went nowhere, right?

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

It was a call from Keith saying to pray for him.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we're going to be definitely going to pray for Keith, Keith Oakley in a little bit.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

Here's what I want you to get on this lesson.

Dr. David Spoon:

Listen to this.

Dr. David Spoon:

Exodus 9, 8, 12.

Dr. David Spoon:

Here's what it says.

Dr. David Spoon:

Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh.

Dr. David Spoon:

It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt.

Dr. David Spoon:

And festering boils will break out on people and animals throughout the land.

Dr. David Spoon:

So they took suit from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh.

Dr. David Spoon:

Moses tossed it into the air.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let me just say this real quickly.

Dr. David Spoon:

Sorry, LeBron James, you didn't start that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Moses tossed it into the air and festering boils broke out on people and animals.

Dr. David Spoon:

The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils that were on them.

Dr. David Spoon:

And all the Egyptians, verse 12.

Dr. David Spoon:

But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just as the Lord had said to Moses, let's start off this massive, really important teaching.

Dr. David Spoon:

God did this.

Dr. David Spoon:

It was the Lord God that made Pharaoh stubborn.

Dr. David Spoon:

I know people are like, no, no, there's free will.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's always free will.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wanna bet?

Dr. David Spoon:

Not a lot of free will.

Dr. David Spoon:

When Paul is on the donkey riding on the road to Damascus and God knocks him on his keister and blinds him and says, time to talk.

Dr. David Spoon:

I think free will just jumped out the window all by itself.

Dr. David Spoon:

Does that mean there's no free will?

Dr. David Spoon:

Of course there's free will.

Dr. David Spoon:

But there's the overriding commands of God.

Dr. David Spoon:

And it's time that we start owning up to the truth that God is in charge and he knows what he's doing.

Dr. David Spoon:

In this case, in Exodus 9:12, God made Pharaoh stubborn.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's the truth.

Dr. David Spoon:

God was the one who did that.

Dr. David Spoon:

The key lies in understanding who initiated this entire process and how all the actors were given their roles by the one true director in life.

Dr. David Spoon:

How pertinent is this teaching?

Dr. David Spoon:

Daniel, chapter 4, verse 31, 37.

Dr. David Spoon:

At the end of that time I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored.

Dr. David Spoon:

Then I praised the Most High.

Dr. David Spoon:

I honored and glorified him who lives forever.

Dr. David Spoon:

His dominion is the eternal dominion.

Dr. David Spoon:

He.

Dr. David Spoon:

His kingdom endures from generation to generation.

Dr. David Spoon:

All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing.

Dr. David Spoon:

He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples on the earth, no one can hold back his hand and say to him, what have you done?

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm getting that real deep element here.

Dr. David Spoon:

As we're looking in Daniel, chapter four, when God turns Nebuchadnezzar, the most powerful man on the planet, way more powerful than people recognize.

Dr. David Spoon:

As Americans go, it would really be helpful for us to appreciate that while we get to participate in things, God is in charge of the affairs of men.

Dr. David Spoon:

And listen to this in Proverbs 16:9.

Dr. David Spoon:

In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

Dr. David Spoon:

Who's in charge?

Dr. David Spoon:

He's in charge.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wait.

Dr. David Spoon:

Don't you, not even for a second miss this.

Dr. David Spoon:

Judges, chapter 14, verse 1:4.

Dr. David Spoon:

Samson went down to Timnah and saw there a young Philistine woman.

Dr. David Spoon:

When he returned, he said to his father and mother, I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah, now get her for me as a wife.

Dr. David Spoon:

His father and mother replied, isn't there any acceptable women among your relatives or among our own people?

Dr. David Spoon:

Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?

Dr. David Spoon:

But Samson said to his father, get her for me.

Dr. David Spoon:

She's the right one for me.

Dr. David Spoon:

Verse 4.

Dr. David Spoon:

His parents did not know that this was from the Lord who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines, for at that time they were ruling over Israel.

Dr. David Spoon:

I think it's a pretty logical question.

Dr. David Spoon:

The parents asked him, you can't find a girl in Israel.

Dr. David Spoon:

What's the matter with you?

Dr. David Spoon:

Get her.

Dr. David Spoon:

She's the one.

Dr. David Spoon:

How's all this coming about?

Dr. David Spoon:

God was working.

Dr. David Spoon:

God had a plan.

Dr. David Spoon:

God was active.

Dr. David Spoon:

What I think happens for you and I is we do believe that all things work together for good.

Dr. David Spoon:

But somewhere in that theology, what we do is we think God takes the lemons and then makes it like lemon pie.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wrong.

Dr. David Spoon:

God created the lemons in the first place because he has a plan.

Dr. David Spoon:

He rules in the affairs of men.

Dr. David Spoon:

And when we look up to God and go, you're doing bad.

Dr. David Spoon:

You're doing bad as God.

Dr. David Spoon:

How much of a sin is that?

Dr. David Spoon:

What is the sin of Job?

Dr. David Spoon:

I love that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Our brother Steve recognizes that.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's pride.

Dr. David Spoon:

But the Core sin for Job was he justified himself rather than God.

Dr. David Spoon:

When we justify ourselves, I'm really good, Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

Compared to so many people, I.

Dr. David Spoon:

I've done so many good things for you.

Dr. David Spoon:

I've never done this or this, or this, or this.

Dr. David Spoon:

All that is irrelevant, not pertinent to the argument.

Dr. David Spoon:

God is the one to be justified.

Dr. David Spoon:

Why?

Dr. David Spoon:

Because he's righteous.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's no sin in him.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's nothing evil in the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

And if the Lord is coordinating a plan and you and I don't understand it, it doesn't mean it's not a good plan.

Dr. David Spoon:

It means we don't understand it.

Dr. David Spoon:

And that's where our trust must come into play.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm telling you, this message I'm sharing with you, this is a message to hold onto as you go into this new year.

Dr. David Spoon:

Whatever God is coordinating, don't tell him you don't like bits and parts of the plan.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's a sin.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because complaining is a sin.

Dr. David Spoon:

Kings:

Dr. David Spoon:

After there was the division, and the kingdom became divided.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is what God said.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is what the Lord says.

Dr. David Spoon:

Verse 24.

Dr. David Spoon:

Do not go up and fight against your brothers.

Dr. David Spoon:

The Israelites, go home, every one of you, for this is my doing.

Dr. David Spoon:

So they obeyed the Lord and went home as the Lord had ordered.

Dr. David Spoon:

You see, God sometimes coordinates these things, and they're beyond our scope.

Dr. David Spoon:

They're beyond what we initially see, because God is sovereign.

Dr. David Spoon:

He's the ruler of the universe, and that's not a joke.

Dr. David Spoon:

And you think these people are in charge?

Dr. David Spoon:

I just.

Dr. David Spoon:

I know, I know, I know.

Dr. David Spoon:

But you guys think these people in Washington are in charge?

Dr. David Spoon:

You think the people in front of China are in charge?

Dr. David Spoon:

You think the people in Russia are in charge?

Dr. David Spoon:

You are not.

Dr. David Spoon:

In one millisecond, God could eliminate every one of those things at the exact same second.

Dr. David Spoon:

Then who's in charge?

Dr. David Spoon:

The same person that's always been in charge, God.

Dr. David Spoon:

And he's never not been in charge.

Dr. David Spoon:

God doesn't go to Pluto and vacation like he's in the Bahamas.

Dr. David Spoon:

And you're thinking, well, why are you teaching this so forcefully?

Dr. David Spoon:

Because we need to go to the bank and take out a loan and buy a clue.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because we're acting like he has to acquiesce to our image of who he is.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's like, that's not how this works.

Dr. David Spoon:

We either get on his train or we get kicked off.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's nothing else.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's nothing left.

Dr. David Spoon:

Genesis oh, you think we're done?

Dr. David Spoon:

Genesis:

Dr. David Spoon:

I'll do that one on Wednesday, but not right now.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is for the moment, and some of you really need to take heed to this.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is the Lord speaking directly to some of you, saying, hey, that's enough.

Dr. David Spoon:

I've put up with this for a long time.

Dr. David Spoon:

No more of that.

Dr. David Spoon:

In Genesis:

Dr. David Spoon:

If not, I'll go elsewhere.

Dr. David Spoon:

Laban and Bethuel answered, this is from the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

We have no choice in the matter.

Dr. David Spoon:

You getting that sovereignty feel you're getting that.

Dr. David Spoon:

I don't want to have to turn you into a cow, but I will feel all of this is to say simply what I want to say.

Dr. David Spoon:

God is the director.

Dr. David Spoon:

God is the King of the universe.

Dr. David Spoon:

Angels tremble before him.

Dr. David Spoon:

Anybody who stands in his glory has a moment of pause.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because if the Lord manifests, it's tough on us.

Dr. David Spoon:

We instantly realize who we are not.

Dr. David Spoon:

And the fact that he has chosen you and I as his children and has declared that he will be with us and that we insult our father by telling him he's not parenting.

Dr. David Spoon:

Good, because we complain.

Dr. David Spoon:

No, no, we can't do that.

Dr. David Spoon:

No, no.

Dr. David Spoon:

This year we're going to do that thing he requires of us more.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we're going to trust.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're going to believe.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're going to acknowledge that there is only one in charge.

Dr. David Spoon:

And while Satan throws a lot of terrible things at us, he is not even on the same plane as God.

Dr. David Spoon:

For when Satan in Revelation is removed from heaven, God just has Michael the Archangel do it.

Dr. David Spoon:

God doesn't even get up Jesus.

Dr. David Spoon:

Guys, we're not getting it.

Dr. David Spoon:

And we need to get the picture.

Dr. David Spoon:

God is in charge, and if you don't understand everything that's going on and you want to bring it to him, that's fine.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's no issue with that.

Dr. David Spoon:

But complaining is not a brilliant tactic against Him.

Dr. David Spoon:

Who is in charge of the universe, including our universe.

Dr. David Spoon:

What this really should do is help us to take a very, very big deep breath of relaxing.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because if he has promised to help us and be with us and he has, nothing will stop that.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's why Romans 8:31 says, if God is for us, who can be against us?

Dr. David Spoon:

And the answer is nobody.

Dr. David Spoon:

And it doesn't matter anyway.

Dr. David Spoon:

You get that?

Dr. David Spoon:

God is in charge.

Dr. David Spoon:

Cool.

Dr. David Spoon:

I Need that.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm really bad at being in charge, so that's a good thing.

Dr. David Spoon:

All right, we'll take our break.

Dr. David Spoon:

When we come back, we're gonna pray for Keith Oakley, plus a few other things.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let's take a break right here.

Dr. David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true stationer in Texas.

Dr. David Spoon:

Short break.

Dr. David Spoon:

We'll be back.

Dr. David Spoon:

Go anywhere.

Speaker B:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Speaker B:

Imagine yourself on a rocket ship racing at a thousand miles an hour into space.

Speaker B:

Once there, you can sense the power and the presence of the majestic and the divine.

Speaker B:

You forget about your troubles and your fears and you just float in peace without a worry.

Speaker B:

In the world, there are no struggles, no pain, no discomfort.

Speaker B:

It's soothing, calm, comfortable.

Speaker B:

But then the show starts and you realize that none of that stuff has anything to do with the show.

Speaker B:

What were you thinking?

Speaker B:

The David Spin Experience.

Speaker B:

Only for the brave of heart and the bored.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's right.

Dr. David Spoon:

You guys think all of our jokes have to be Christian themed.

Dr. David Spoon:

So, okay, so this is a Christian chicken.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, that, that'll help you.

Dr. David Spoon:

These are 9, 10 people.

Dr. David Spoon:

The last one is so funny.

Dr. David Spoon:

These are 10 people.

Dr. David Spoon:

Why the chicken crossed the road.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, now these are people, you know, Some are political, some are not.

Dr. David Spoon:

Nobody's getting picked on.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is just fun stuff.

Dr. David Spoon:

Nancy Grace, why the chicken crossed the road?

Dr. David Spoon:

That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty.

Dr. David Spoon:

You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's Nancy Grace.

Dr. David Spoon:

Pat Buchanan.

Dr. David Spoon:

The chicken crossed the road to steal the job of a decent, hard working American.

Dr. David Spoon:

Martha Stewart.

Dr. David Spoon:

No one called to warn me which way the chicken was going.

Dr. David Spoon:

I had a standing order at the fair at the farmer's market to sell my eggs.

Dr. David Spoon:

When the price dropped to a certain level, no little bird gave me any insider information.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is great.

Dr. David Spoon:

Dr.

Dr. David Spoon:

Seuss, did the chicken cross the road?

Dr. David Spoon:

Did he cross it with a toad?

Dr. David Spoon:

Yes, the chicken crossed the road.

Dr. David Spoon:

But it crossed.

Dr. David Spoon:

I've not been told.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, this is just an old grandpa.

Dr. David Spoon:

In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road.

Dr. David Spoon:

Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road and that was good enough for us.

Dr. David Spoon:

Donald Trump.

Dr. David Spoon:

We should build a wall so the chicken can't cross the road.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's hilarious.

Dr. David Spoon:

Now, if you don't think this one is funny, I'm going to be very concerned about you.

Dr. David Spoon:

Barbara Walters.

Dr. David Spoon:

Why did a chicken cross the road?

Dr. David Spoon:

Isn't that interesting?

Dr. David Spoon:

In a few moments, we'll be listening to the chicken tell for the first time the heartwarming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting and went to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wow.

Dr. David Spoon:

Aristotle.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's the nature of chickens to cross the road.

Dr. David Spoon:

Bill Gates.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let's skip Bill Gates.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just skip it.

Dr. David Spoon:

All together, the last two.

Dr. David Spoon:

And you can't tell me these aren't funny.

Dr. David Spoon:

Albert Einstein.

Dr. David Spoon:

Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

Dr. David Spoon:

That's relativity.

Dr. David Spoon:

And then, finally, Colonel Sanders, did I miss one?

Dr. David Spoon:

The David Spoon experience.
