[00:00:17] Eric Goranson: remodeling and

[:

[00:00:24] Intro: is around the

[:

[00:00:45] Eric Goranson: Right. Carolyn,

[:

[00:00:55] Eric Goranson: We're not ourselves on the radio, but we have to jam it into a time constraint. And [00:01:00] uh, many times on the radio stuff, we've got to kind of fit it all into.

[:

[00:01:09] Caroline Blazovsky: So what's been going on, you got some rain

[:

[00:01:28] Eric Goranson: And like, for me, You know what I mean? Go now it takes me a couple hours to knock the dust off stills. Hopefully that gets better, but, uh,

[:

[00:01:38] Eric Goranson: Yeah, I can, I can get nine hours of sleep get up and it takes me like two hours to get. All the cobwebs knocked out of the head. And usually that was like, I could take a shower in 20 minutes.

[:

[00:01:51] Caroline Blazovsky: hopefully that goes away. I'm sure

[:

[00:02:11] Eric Goranson: It gives about 70% of my driveway is above five or six feet higher than my garage floor. So water tends to go down there and overwhelm the system. So it can be like a ski ramp. So it was starting to get up close to the door yesterday morning. So I had to go out there and, uh, pop on the sump pump real quick.

[:

[00:02:37] Caroline Blazovsky: Yeah, I was asking you about that. So he has a sump pump that he puts down in the storm drain. And typically we think of storm drains that our community, or, you know, your town will have the storm drains in the street, but Eric actually has one on his property.

[:

[00:02:56] Eric Goranson: thanks. Yeah. You think about it. A lot of storm drain, there's a lot of [00:03:00] self contained storm drains on the property. Many times. It's like what your gutters drop into, you know, if they drop into that, into that tube, that goes underground.

[:

[00:03:27] Eric Goranson: It, uh, it was filling up and I had a bunch of water there and I've had outlet that I put over there just to make sure that, uh, I could do that, plugged it in and boom took care of it. So, um, yeah, it's, again, it's being prepared for those big storms coming in, you know, whether, whether you got a hurricane, you know, on the east coast or it's a monsoon in the, in the desert, Southwest being ready for that stuff is, is always good.

[:

[00:04:08] Eric Goranson: that. Absolutely. We get rain all the way through June now.

[:

[00:04:27] Eric Goranson: It was just, you know, so it sounded like somebody on a hose on the side of the house, like a fire hose. So pretty incredible. So what have you been working on? You've had some crazy client stuff.

[:

[00:04:48] Caroline Blazovsky: So. And what was crazy was how these things were getting in. And we still don't really know. So imagine an attic and then part of the attic, you could look down into the [00:05:00] floor below it. So as you were up on the attic, in your rafter,

[:

[00:05:09] Intro: Oh my goodness. Sorry. I had to go Batman.

[:

[00:05:29] Caroline Blazovsky: Well, guess what we found when we went to suck out the duct work about 50 mummified bats,

[:

[00:05:41] Caroline Blazovsky: Five zero, at least the five bodies of bats. So get your HVAC systems cleaned out, please. You need to do that every year. If you have pets, you can get away with doing it every two to three. If you just have know people in the house, humans, but you got to do it,

[:

[00:06:00] Eric Goranson: And you

[:

[00:06:08] Eric Goranson: don't want to be breathing. Think about 25 years of

[:

[00:06:26] Eric Goranson: By no way. No way. That's disgusting. So I want to, I got a rant for ya. Yeah, I got my soap box. Here it is. It's right there. I'm putting my soap box down so I can, oh, here we go. I don't know what I did on Facebook to make this little bot at Facebook. Think that I want to watch this junk, but there are so many pages popping up [00:07:00] suggested for you.

[:

[00:07:13] Intro: what is

[:

[00:07:22] Intro: It sounds overseas.

[:

[00:07:26] Eric Goranson: What they do is they take other people's YouTube videos. And turn around and give them credit and they post it back up again, but oh, and then I'm going to call shade on somebody on Facebook too.

[:

[00:08:16] Eric Goranson: So here he is doing a bathroom, a laundry room remodel. Right? He's changing the blocks, PACS plumbing around. It's all good. But look at how he butchered up the wall studs that are supporting the second floor in this, all those beams got cut out

[:

[00:08:40] Eric Goranson: well, he's moving the, he was moving the water over to the right from the left.

[:

[00:09:17] Eric Goranson: Pull it together.

[:

[00:09:20] Eric Goranson: like.

[:

[00:09:29] Eric Goranson: in. There are some of these, like they take all this stuff and it's like, Hey, here's a cool, easy DIY thing. And I'm like, okay, wait a minute. You have a me, there's so many. They give you these DIY hacks. Right? And so these DIY quote unquote hacks to me, it's not a DIY hack.

[:

[00:10:14] Eric Goranson: That's actually gonna work. Instead of you spending a hundred dollars to build it. Hmm. That's faulty DIY where I come from. So that's, that's me, that's me. And there's a couple of those actually. I had to dislike block in, like, I don't want to see him again. Cause it was just so bad. And again, you know, it's, it's interesting.

[:

[00:10:58] Eric Goranson: I mean, this is [00:11:00] what they're doing. He puts down like clear plastic as a vapor barrier, a sand pack, sand down. And then puts down, um, like a mortar mix and sets tile on top of that. I mean, oh yeah. I mean, it was just like, um,

[:

[00:11:27] Caroline Blazovsky: I'm thinking like saran wrap, a little bit of sand and then some mortar mix. That's just a bad

[:

[00:11:50] Eric Goranson: So of course now all that's going to get whatever water is going to, it's going to get swampy. And then he put down, um, laid down like two by [00:12:00] twos and then put plywood down on top of it. Another vapor barrier. More two by twos, another layer of plywood. And I'm like, you have a vapor barrier sandwich, which is going to be,

[:

[00:12:16] Caroline Blazovsky: with mold and masks and humidity and moisture vapor.

[:

[00:12:44] Eric Goranson: Whoops. So watch your sources, friends. What's your sources out there? Cause some of that stuff. And just because you sat on the internet, get out, it's been interesting.

[:

[00:13:05] Caroline Blazovsky: And so he is in the hospital right now, as we speak, getting ready to have an aortic valve replacement. So they're going to do a little chest crack on him. So prayers up, anybody that's out there. I'm a big believer in prayer. So sending good thoughts to him, he's a good guy. So hopefully he's on the mend soon.

[:

[00:13:24] Eric Goranson: Yeah. Back at it, get that, get that ticker fixed up. So he's good for another 50 years, right? Yeah.

[:

[00:13:47] Eric Goranson: I don't know what I want Dr.

[:

[00:13:52] Caroline Blazovsky: And someone that works on something though, right? Like working mechanics on it goes well with, you know, the

[:

[00:14:05] Caroline Blazovsky: Toyota has been around a long time. Don't

[:

[00:14:08] Eric Goranson: Who's working on your Mr. Jaguar own.

[:

[00:14:13] Intro: especially with the heart. That's a new again. You don't want to Jaguar doctor.

[:

[00:14:27] Eric Goranson: Yeah. Preach, go out to Scott and I'm sure he's going to rocket through that one. It'd be good to go. He's a trooper.

[:

[00:14:44] Caroline Blazovsky: So by week you should be, you know? Yeah.

[:

[00:15:09] Caroline Blazovsky: Yeah, lucky we got the TV up. I said,

[:

[00:15:18] Caroline Blazovsky: So we're trying to get some, some good looking stuff for you guys. So when we go live and you see us all the time, you won't be bored just looking at Eric and I have some

[:

[00:15:29] Eric Goranson: Yeah. That's one of the things we're gonna work on here is doing some live events where we'll be on Facebook and LinkedIn and all those things where you can come in and ask questions and do all that as well. But, uh, we're going to have some fun shows coming up here to Carolina. I, this show we got this weekend, it's going to be good with, uh, With DuPont and air mana dry.

[:

[00:16:13] Eric Goranson: And we'll talk about that.

[:

[00:16:19] Eric Goranson: going on. Oh my gosh. Have you not signed up for the giveaway? This isn't you're going to possibly win a product. This is a $250 visa. You get a chance to win, and that's really easy to go over to sashco.com forward slash ath.

[:

[00:17:04] Intro: you up a couple of

[:

[00:17:06] Caroline Blazovsky: How come I never can win?

[:

[00:17:13] Caroline Blazovsky: I know. I want some cash for gas. Gas is so expensive. Now, what do you put? What's a tank of gas costing you now.

[:

[00:17:27] Eric Goranson: And I was driving my F two 50, just regular unleaded, gas, nothing crazy. Costco's got pretty cheap gas, cheapest place in town here in Portland. No question. So I pull up, the guy goes, Hey, I'll follow the front back tanks. I go, ah, front tanks, bone dry back tank has a quarter. He goes, hold on to that card.

[:

[00:18:03] Intro: Oh, gosh, times of high gas. Yeah.

[:

[00:18:11] Eric Goranson: Yeah, exactly, exactly. So, and uh, you know, hopefully, uh, it makes me look at stuff and go, man, you know what I mean? My, my diesel SUV might get traded in for something electric pretty soon if I keep paying grass prices like this, which of course is probably the.

[:

[00:18:38] Intro: Yeah.

[:

[00:18:48] Eric Goranson: terrible.

[:

[00:19:06] Eric Goranson: We grew up, yeah, that was a norm. I mean, when I was a kid, we had nuclear drills where you'd go hide under your day.

[:

[00:19:21] Eric Goranson: here. Oh, it's just a little bit, but here's the thing. The reason why we had it, the two is that we had the Hanford nuclear reservation where they built a lot of stuff for nuclear weapons there.

[:

[00:19:44] Intro: So that

[:

[00:19:48] Intro: dealing with something else.

[:

[00:19:53] Eric Goranson: Well, Caroline, I think we should wrap this up and, uh, let people get off to their day. We had a lot [00:20:00] of different stuff we're talking about to them.

[:

[00:20:12] Caroline Blazovsky: I mean, we're all over the

[:

[00:20:16] Intro: All

[:

[00:20:24] Eric Goranson: It could be yours. All right. I'm Eric G and I'm

[:

[00:20:28] Eric Goranson: B. You've been listening to
