Paul Pelosi, 86, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is under investigation after authorities say he struck an unoccupied parked vehicle in Yountville, California, on July 3 and drove away. Investigators reported no evidence of alcohol impairment. The Napa County District Attorney is reviewing the case for a possible misdemeanor hit-and-run charge, and Pelosi was not arrested.

ROCKETS RED GLARE!
Delta Air Lines Flight 1076 from Atlanta landed safely at Chicago Midway International Airport after the flight crew reported a firework struck—or made contact with—the aircraft during its Fourth of July descent. The Airbus A319 was carrying 52 passengers and six crew members. No injuries were reported, mechanics found no damage to the aircraft, and the Federal Aviation Administration has opened an investigation.
