[00:00:37] Caroline Blazovsky: oh my gosh. I can't believe it. Memorial day is here almost. It's
[:[00:00:43] Eric Goranson: I'll take fast. It's been a busy week already and I'm, I'm kinda trying to slide into the weekend already. I'm
[:[00:00:57] Eric Goranson: It's weird to be here. You been [00:01:00] battling COVID around you for like eight weeks? I think
[:[00:01:06] Caroline Blazovsky: I don't have anything to knock, but, um, it hasn't been me yet.
[:[00:01:16] Caroline Blazovsky: I'm running for my life, but now I'm in quarantine. I'm in a new location. It's kind of do I sound weird? I mean, I'm in a new studio
[:[00:01:28] Eric Goranson: It's got a different vibe. Yeah, you're coming down from the it's. It's like Caroline's coming from her mom's basement.
[:[00:01:45] Eric Goranson: So man, we got a lot of stuff going on this week. I had such a great time. Last Friday, I was out playing with the unlimited hydroplane. In Vancouver, you've probably saw that on Facebook for all you out there. That was a lot of fun. Tell people
[:[00:02:07] Caroline Blazovsky: So awesome.
[:[00:02:28] Eric Goranson: Hmm. Now these things get flying. You can be going 200 miles an hour with the newest ones which are made with a turbine jet engines that are out of. Eric, uh, like helicopters, for instance, rata like Vietnam era helicopters. And when these
[:[00:02:51] Eric Goranson: it's awesome. And. I've grown up in the sport because growing up in trace cities, Washington, and Eastern Washington, [00:03:00] we had races where I could watch it from my house down on the river. And, you know, it was super fun to watch. And then we had a test in-tune type thing where they wanted to introduce the sport to the Portland, Oregon area.
[:[00:03:35] Eric Goranson: How many people get 10 national championships? Think he's got 79 race wins too, which is awesome. Cause there's only one anywhere from five to 10. I don't even know if they had 10 races a year in the heyday. So that's a lot of. As I unlimited hydroplane driver, especially with the competition that's out there.
[:[00:04:00] Caroline Blazovsky: And this is if you like adrenaline rush and you also like crashes. I mean, this is like this blows NASCAR out of the water. I mean, literally on the water, it's on the water, same principle, like as NASCAR, but then, I mean, the crashes, these vehicles can flip multiple times, like up in the air and you're talking like Eric and I were watching video.
[:[00:04:30] Eric Goranson: Hi. Yeah. I used to be really high these boats. Uh, they were open cockpit back in the day when I was a kid, I used to see drivers die out there, you know? And that was shocking. As a kid, watching your hero die in the water, you know, 250 yards in front of you might not have been the healthiest thing as a kid, but I tell you what it was.
[:[00:05:08] Eric Goranson: You know, I was talking with some of the drivers of the, you know, the, of the back in the day guy. And they were talking about, wow. And that thing would blow up to blow over. They would just push out of the boat and it hit the water at 170 miles an hour
[:[00:05:23] Caroline Blazovsky: Like
[:[00:05:44] Eric Goranson: So I'm like, all right, that's home improvement. I'll take it.
[:[00:05:51] Eric Goranson: I think we need everyone around the house, but one of these years that'd be fun. I even knew who our driver would be. No, [00:06:00] no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I got way too many good friends that are drivers out there.
[:[00:06:27] Eric Goranson: And then, uh, Man. I was shocked in the news today, about the people down in The Bahamas at diet, it was carbon monoxide and the symptoms that they were giving us just didn't sound like it.
[:[00:06:50] Caroline Blazovsky: What else? They had just different complaints and you typically see with carbon monoxide, but
[:[00:07:07] Caroline Blazovsky: it's one of the things I checked for and make people aware of, and it's not, they weren't the T they were atypical symptoms that people would experience, but even more reason why.
[:[00:07:24] Eric Goranson: And the only thing that would have been probably generating carbon monoxide would have been a water heater.
[:[00:07:38] Caroline Blazovsky: I don't know, did they didn't say what it, they didn't say what caused it? They just said, and they
[:[00:07:53] Eric Goranson: Hmm, or a generator or something that was outside. If there was, if they were doing some generator, you know, [00:08:00] pushing it in there, but very strange, unfortunately it's, especially if it was one unit, then you could go, maybe it was a cooktop that was running really badly or something like that. But to have multiple units.
[:[00:08:14] Caroline Blazovsky: something. Well, the other thing is it has to be something that was consistently on in these units to get like, you know what I'm saying? Like if one person was cooking with a stove that why they would preclude the other people from having that
[:[00:08:29] Eric Goranson: It would've, hadn't been so bad to go unit to unit.
[:[00:08:35] Eric Goranson: to that story. I'm curious to see what the rest of that is. So, oh, and the other thing is, is, uh, I got a little gift in the mail here a few weeks ago. We didn't talk about it. I got a cooler from con coolers.
[:[00:08:50] Eric Goranson: is amazing. We didn't, I don't know
[:[00:09:01] Eric Goranson: my Instagram page. I don't know if we put it up on it's on my personal Instagram page, which is, uh, around the house.
[:[00:09:36] Eric Goranson: And so they've got it out in the water. That's floating around. They're trying to choose. And it's bear
[:[00:09:48] Eric Goranson: something does, what I like about it though, is that it's not just any cooler. It actually has like dividers.
[:[00:10:12] Eric Goranson: So check those things out. I'm really impressed with con coolers.
[:[00:10:20] Eric Goranson: speech in it. I got a paint story for you. I heard this one was wild, so I was in getting some stain and, uh, cause I'm staying in the fence, outside my house. And uh, first off I picked the color and they didn't have any color samples.
[:[00:11:02] Eric Goranson: With their Adam's peanut butter and they come, they bring their peanut butter in to get it shaken in the paint shaker because they got tired of mixing up their peanut butter. And so the, literally they were taking their peanut butter. You don't want to separate out that all natural peanut butter oil at
[:[00:11:19] Eric Goranson: nasty.
[:[00:11:43] Eric Goranson: Did they just do
[:[00:11:50] Eric Goranson: What's interesting. I
[:[00:12:01] Eric Goranson: that's like nice. I could try this now.
[:[00:12:19] Caroline Blazovsky: Yeah, I can, I can only anticipate what someone in New York or New Jersey would say to that.
[:[00:12:31] Eric Goranson: Oh, it's funny. And you know, I had that story, uh, before we get into the gym. Oh, by the way, we'll S we'll just wrap that up real quickly. Yeah. There is a Jif, peanut butter recall out there. If you bought it at Costco or a few other places, for some numbers, you need to look for that, uh, some salmonella in there.
[:[00:12:55] Caroline Blazovsky: older peanut butters
[:[00:13:10] Eric Goranson: No. Oh, I don't know what happened. It's a ticketing and you know, I had my battle with United. When I was coming back from Greenville, South Carolina. It was only a battle because there was nobody there. Well, something transpired between this guy. And somebody working on the other side of the counter and it went to serious blows.
[:[00:13:36] Caroline Blazovsky: Oh, United worker and an ex NFL
[:[00:13:59] Eric Goranson: I'll put it up [00:14:00] on the, so they went
[:[00:14:04] Eric Goranson: and I'll show it to you. I'll start it over here. Seeing here we go, see, this is the only part of it, but these guys are like going at it now. This is the only half of the fight, but football player clearly wins this
[:[00:14:24] Eric Goranson: Yeah, the beginning there's, there's, that's kind of the middle of it. That short little clip. It's the one I shared up on Twitter. There's another one. That's like a three minute. One of that. It still doesn't show the beginning of it. So I can't really tell what happened, but I doubt that the NFL player would have taken a shot at the guy over the top of the counter.
[:[00:14:55] Caroline Blazovsky: who took the first shove, which was the first who hit initiated.
[:[00:14:59] Eric Goranson: tell? [00:15:00] I can't tell because it starts out with the, in the video that I saw the longest one at the gate employee, but the ticketing guy taking a swing, but there could have been five minutes before that there could have been a dozen punches before that. I, it could be very, you can easily make that creative editing.
[:[00:15:20] Caroline Blazovsky: Always an exciting day at the United gate,
[:[00:15:28] Caroline Blazovsky: And it was probably over like a bag being like two pounds over, you know what I mean? That's probably what all started it,
[:[00:15:42] Eric Goranson: Oh, it's brutal. It's brutal. Hey, by the way, I was talking to my friends over at Serta this last week. And they're, if you're looking at mattresses, check out loads this weekend on Memorial day, they have some like ridiculous sales going on over there at [00:16:00] Lowe's. And so I was shocked like the mattress, like, you know, the, the, the, the hybrid mattresses, which is cool.
[:[00:16:35] Eric Goranson: For that, for the. Um, on even have a Serta black, casual polyester, full sofa bed. One of those ones that folds down and remember
[:[00:17:06] Caroline Blazovsky: And it becomes this allergy mess. So get out and get yourself a new mattress. If it's over 10 years old. And for those prices, you can't beat it. I mean, this isn't a commercial, I'm just saying, you know, for 400 bucks, what are you engulfing yourself in a whole bunch of allergens for just get a new mask.
[:[00:17:24] Eric Goranson: So big sales at, uh, at Lowe's for mattresses this weekend. And if you really
[:[00:17:39] Eric Goranson: and a little massage. Do all that stuff. I like, I like being comfortable.
[:[00:18:04] Caroline Blazovsky: gardening season.
[:[00:18:14] Eric Goranson: Ah, we've had tomato plants in the ground for what, three weeks now we got on an early,
[:[00:18:24] Eric Goranson: get a little bit, we got close it. Well, there was one morning.
[:[00:18:38] Caroline Blazovsky: I love fresh tomatoes to make tutors are the best I'm from Jersey. So, you know, we have like the best tomatoes,
[:[00:18:51] Caroline Blazovsky: Yes. And blueberries and corn. We are the garden state. You know,
[:[00:19:00] Caroline Blazovsky: Because all you think about is like MetLife stadium, Jersey city, Hoboken, Fort Lee, like these busy areas. Majority of the state. We do have large farms. So
[:[00:19:19] Caroline Blazovsky: garden state,
[:[00:19:23] Eric Goranson: Yeah, because in my, you know, I started thinking about like, when I think of New Jersey, I just think Newark, oh God, no.
[:[00:19:37] haven't
[:[00:19:47] Eric Goranson: I'm sure they are. I just, my only time in New Jersey is a Newark, so that's, that's all I got and it was even the airport.
[:[00:20:01] Eric Goranson: All right. Well, we got a big show ahead this weekend. Don't we? Oh, we've got
[:[00:20:08] Eric Goranson: We do. We're going to be talking about, uh, getting ready for the holidays and stuff, all that kind of prep stuff for getting everything ready outside for the party. Right.
[:[00:20:18] Eric Goranson: the yard ready, getting it all.
[:[00:20:22] Caroline Blazovsky: BBQ
[:[00:20:47] Eric Goranson: We've got a good one there. And if you're, uh, getting that pool ready, you better listen to last weekend. Show a swimming pool.
[:[00:21:06] Caroline Blazovsky: They're quite, uh, all encompassing in many different genres of home improvement. They kind of cross over from cement to water treatment to, I mean, heating, right? How you heat the pool. Good
[:[00:21:28] Caroline Blazovsky: Chad.
[:[00:21:36] Eric Goranson: No, we have it with Mitsubishi. We did a, in the past, we've talked to Fujitsu and American standard and of course carrier. So this is a new one
[:[00:21:48] Eric Goranson: about mini-split heat pumps.
[:[00:21:58] Caroline Blazovsky: You don't have that [00:22:00] forced hot air and you've got a mini-split. This is for you. How to take care of it, maintain it. Choose one. What to look out for do's and don'ts
[:[00:22:15] Eric Goranson: But this is a, if you want to keep that room, uh, or how school itself.
[:[00:22:37] Eric Goranson: Absolutely. It's going to be a great show ahead. All right, Caroline, we should get outta here. I'm Eric G Caroline B and you've been listening to around the house.[00:23:00]
