Shownotes
This is one of our most candid interviews yet. Sam Gordon has been doing comedy around 5 years and has already produced several weekly shows around Atlanta, created her own comedy organization, and started an open mic locator app. Even with all that fast success, she still shares the same self-doubt so many of us comics can’t seem to shake. This interview also catches her on the brink of trying to decide when to quit her job and do comedy full-time. We end with a 6 month challenge that all comics can do to help get where they want to be in this crazy game of comedy.
Listeners will learn about:
- How to contact a show booker
- Producing your own shows
- Creating your own success in comedy
- Feeling inadequate
- How to focus on what you can control
- When to quit your job for comedy
- Overcoming negative self-talk
- Creating a media kit
- Why you need a website
- The secret to getting rebooked on shows
