Bill Betts:

Welcome to the Pet Grooming Business podcast with me, Bill Betts, where we give practical business advice to help you grow your pet grooming business.

Bill Betts:

This podcast is sponsored by Low Pay, the low rate payment app that gives you more.

Bill Betts:

So without further ado, let's get going.

Speaker B:

Morning.

Speaker B:

Morning.

Speaker B:

Morning.

Speaker B:

Morning.

Speaker B:

I was in the gy.

Speaker B:

Can you believe that?

Speaker B:

I was in the gym that was following Listen.

Speaker B:

I was actually listening to a podcast which motivated me to go into the gym.

Speaker B:

So listen to podcasts everyone.

Speaker B:

They're really good.

Speaker B:

Good for your, good for your health.

Speaker B:

And I'm hoping to get the person onto my podcast that was talking about dopamine and endorphins and chemicals and tick tock and using your phone and stuff.

Speaker B:

But anyway, he got me into the gym this morning.

Speaker B:

I wanted to come in and talk to you, talk you through what is on offer with the business program that I do.

Speaker B:

My core, my core product, my offering.

Speaker B:

So when I first started Pet Passion to Profit and started this Facebook group, I offered one to one business coaching for pet groomers basically around the experiences and the knowledge that we've gained from running a pet groomers for 20 years and also the knowledge and experience and that I gained from having mentorship myself.

Speaker B:

And it became really busy and very quickly I realized that I couldn't sustain just doing one to one work.

Speaker B:

It's very intense catching up with people every week, doing so hours of work with them and then obviously keeping them accountable and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

So I set up the pet groomer business program which is a group coaching program.

Speaker B:

So I often talk about it a lot.

Speaker B:

Hopefully you follow my Pet Passion to profit page and if you don't go and give it a like, that'd be really good.

Speaker B:

And I don't really talk about it too much in the, in the Facebook group obviously do market it.

Speaker B:

I do advertise it now and then.

Speaker B:

I share some really fantastic wins from my clients now and then into the group.

Speaker B:

But I don't want the group to be saturated with me, me, me.

Speaker B:

I want, I want the Facebook group to really help pet groomers.

Speaker B:

I want them, I want the Facebook group to really help pet groomers in their business in general.

Speaker B:

And then if you want more specific help and more, more support, then you can come over and check out the pit, the petition, the business program.

Speaker B:

So but I thought I'd do a live because I talk about it a lot and you see a lot of wins.

Speaker B:

It doesn't always have a lot of context around the wins, just how well they're doing.

Speaker B:

So if you want to go and read the reviews and look at the client wins and what they're achieving, then go and head over to the Pet Passion to Profit Facebook page, because that's where I mostly share the wins and look for expression of interest.

Speaker B:

But I wanted to come in live today and just do a little video just to explain and outline what the pet grooming business program is all about.

Speaker B:

And if you're listening to this on a podcast, because it will come out on the podcast in a while, I'll try and be as descriptive as I possibly can be because I understand you're not watching the video, but you're listening to it instead.

Speaker B:

So I wanted to start you off and I'm gonna, you know, I am a very, very open person.

Speaker B:

I am a very, very open book.

Speaker B:

So, you know, I'm not going to hide things from you.

Speaker B:

I am literally today all I all I'm not going to show you today is the face the private Facebook group, because obviously there's personal information there that's going on there, and the WhatsApp group, because that's obviously, again, private information that's going on in the WhatsApp group.

Speaker B:

But I'm going to show you why we do it, the purpose of it, and then also I'm going to show you around the portal that we have with all the video lessons on it.

Speaker B:

And then I'm going to also introduce you to the amazing mentors that I work with on the business program and talk to you about how they help pet groomers within their business.

Speaker B:

So some of you might think it's just the, the Bill Betts show.

Speaker B:

The, you know, you could you join the business program and it's Bill, Bill, Bill, when you're here, sort of talking to you and helping you.

Speaker B:

But actually, I know the power from having mentorship myself.

Speaker B:

I know the power of bringing in different professionals into the program to help you have lots of different parts of the business.

Speaker B:

And I actually believe that if it was just me rabbiting on and badgering people and going on and on and on, I don't think we'll get the results that we actually get.

Speaker B:

It's really nice to have a real balance of mentors, a real balance of personalities.

Speaker B:

And it's also really nice that, you know, because everyone learns in a different way to each other.

Speaker B:

Some people learn by watching the videos.

Speaker B:

Some people learn by going onto the coaching calls.

Speaker B:

Some people prefer another mentor to me because they have a softer approach than maybe I do, and they just gel better with that.

Speaker B:

Mentor.

Speaker B:

And that is completely fine.

Speaker B:

And that's what I love about having lots of different mentors within the program because everyone learns in different ways and everyone gets on with different people better and differently.

Speaker B:

And that all helps the bigger picture and helps people to succeed in their business.

Speaker B:

And that's what, that's what we're all about.

Speaker B:

So I kind of got to the business program.

Speaker B:

My first question was going from a one to one offer and working people on a one to one basis.

Speaker B:

My first question was, and I had to reach out to a mentor myself to get this question worked through because I had some mindset barriers myself was, you know, can we offer the same amount of value to customers if we work on a, as a, as a group, if we work on a group basis?

Speaker B:

So you don't have the, you know, the intensive one to one.

Speaker B:

And actually the mentor and I reached out to, you know, put me in my place straight away.

Speaker B:

And so I said, well, actually, you know, and this is, you know, let's go beyond Bill.

Speaker B:

Let's think about the bigger picture.

Speaker B:

By enrolling your clients into a group program, not only do they get the value that myself can give them, but then they get the value that the other mentors can give them, and then they get the value that the group can give them as well.

Speaker B:

And when I first started this program, I was unaware, and it's a good consequence of the program, but I was quite unaware as to how strong the community was going to be.

Speaker B:

And, you know, if.

Speaker B:

So if there's one thing that people tell me about, one thing the clients tell me about is how supportive and how supported they feel by the community of other pet groomers that we've got on the program.

Speaker B:

Now, there's probably about 100, probably about 130 pet groomers on the program and all contribute to a community in lots of different ways, whether that sometimes I reach out to them for some extra training to provide to the customer, to the clients, or just the community in our WhatsApp group and the Facebook group, where we're there to celebrate, we're there to pick up each other, we're there to help each other, we're there to push each other, we're there to virtually hug each other when one of us is having a down day or week or month, you know, we're there for each other.

Speaker B:

And that's something that I hear within the big group, this, this group and something that I've seen over the last week is like, business is really lonely.

Speaker B:

And what's really interesting is business is lonely because of the kind of job that we do.

Speaker B:

You're all in this, in this group because you, you know, you're dog groomers or pet or pet professionals and you run a business.

Speaker B:

So even if you have staff because you're the business owner, sometimes you struggle to sort of share our business issues and our thoughts and our mindset with our staff.

Speaker B:

And quite rightly so, you know, you've got to keep that professional distance at times.

Speaker B:

So although staff can become friends sometimes, it might be quite difficult to share this kind of like the what's going on and the pressures and the stresses and the, you know, the constant thinking of how do we market my business, how do I get more money, how do we get more time back and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

So what's lovely about the community is that they're all like minded and they all know what they're going through, they all understand what's happening and why.

Speaker B:

And what was also interesting is I hear from a lot of people is that they reach out to friends and family and their friends and family might not be in business at the time or they might have negative money mindsets and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

And they get that pushed back to them.

Speaker B:

That negative mindset gets pushed back to them and they're like, oh, it's okay.

Speaker B:

So that price increase is scary, I shouldn't be doing that.

Speaker B:

But then you got other people saying you should be.

Speaker B:

Then you got friends, family and partners saying oh no, that's going to break your business, et cetera.

Speaker B:

And all of a sudden you just, cause it creates so much conflict within your, within your brain.

Speaker B:

You get overloaded, overwhelmed and you just feel like saying I've had it, I'm done, I've had enough.

Speaker B:

And you know, if this goes on year after year after year and we live with that, that can really sort of form serious mental health issues.

Speaker B:

You know, if you live with stress and anxiety for many, many years, that will form depression and lead on to other stuff.

Speaker B:

So it's, you know, this is serious stuff.

Speaker B:

It's really difficult running a business.

Speaker B:

It's really tough.

Speaker B:

And when we opened our business in 20 years ago, you know, there wasn't, there really wasn't the, the volume of pet grooms that there was out there, but then saying that there also wasn't there volume of pets out there, I mean cockapoos and stuff didn't even exist 20 years ago, I don't think.

Speaker B:

Or if they were, we hadn't seen them.

Speaker B:

Read more traditional dogs in our books.

Bill Betts:

This Podcast is sponsored by Low Pay.

Bill Betts:

Low Pay is half the price of Sumup and Zettle.

Bill Betts:

So you keep more of the money that you earn.

Bill Betts:

Rates start at 0.79%.

Speaker B:

So it's really important to surround yourself with those, those sort of community of people that are positive, like minded, they understand where you're coming from.

Speaker B:

They, they can say, I can get, I get that, I understand that, I know what you're going through.

Speaker B:

Try this and do that.

Speaker B:

And sometimes I get clients saying to me, you know, I haven't told my other half that I've joined or I'll tell them, I'll tell the other half later once I start getting some results.

Speaker B:

Or, you know, I just don't talk about business from either half because they just don't get it.

Speaker B:

All right?

Speaker B:

So, you know, I work with my other half, Emma, she runs the dog grooming side of things.

Speaker B:

And it can be tough, it can be tough working together.

Speaker B:

So we completely understand.

Speaker B:

So community really runs through the center of the program.

Speaker B:

And maybe I should update this infographic actually, because obviously we've got mindset that's running through it.

Speaker B:

But also community runs sort of all the way around the outside.

Speaker B:

See, look, I'm learning even I'm thinking, so what's this infographic all about?

Speaker B:

For those that are listening, the infographic is, I'll put it in the show notes hopefully so you can come go and see it.

Speaker B:

But it basically explains from what I've learned of people's journey within business.

Speaker B:

So at the moment, you know, you're running a business, you're running a pet groomers.

Speaker B:

Now that business might be really, really busy and overwhelming and you might just be like, oh my God, I just do not know what to do with this business.

Speaker B:

I keep hiring, I keep losing staff, I keep adding more staff and my profit is disappearing from, with before my very eyes because my staff are eating up all of the profit.

Speaker B:

Or maybe, you know, you're sitting there and you're ticking over, but you're like, oh, is there more to this?

Speaker B:

I remember me and Emma sitting down one day or a while ago and sort of saying, is this it?

Speaker B:

Is this really it?

Speaker B:

We're just gonna like cut dogs, groom dogs day in, day out, day in, day out, day in, day out, watch the bank balance, pay the staff, pay the bills, pay the tax, get to the end of the year, submit the accounts, do the dogs, do the dogs, do the, you know, and we've sort of always had this thought like, is this really it?

Speaker B:

And okay, sometimes businesses is Quite often rinse and repeat and it's quite nice to have business to be boring.

Speaker B:

But then where's the excitement of running that business?

Speaker B:

So some people get to this brick wall here where they just have, like, a lack of knowledge or they're completely overwhelmed with what's going on.

Speaker B:

They don't know which way to turn, or their lack of, like, marketing knowledge and branding knowledge.

Speaker B:

They don't really know how to expand their services or go into a next sort of price bracket.

Speaker B:

But that might also be their mindset that's holding them back because they might be really fearful because they're hanging out in all the Facebook groups and everyone's saying, oh, people don't pay that around here.

Speaker B:

And, oh, people just moan about my prices.

Speaker B:

And, you know, they hang out in these Facebook groups.

Speaker B:

Is getting all of this negativity being pushed into them all the time and thinking, right, well, this is it then.

Speaker B:

I'm just going to do my cockapoos for 40 quid and I'll just do it, do my numbers like one after another after another.

Speaker B:

And as the cost of living increases at home, my crisis stay the same.

Speaker B:

I just need to get busier.

Speaker B:

Well, I can't get busier because I'm overwhelmed.

Speaker B:

If I do more dogs, bloody hell, I won't cope, you know, well, okay, maybe I'll add another day to my diary.

Speaker B:

Let's do six days instead of four or let's do six days instead of five.

Speaker B:

You know, let's add another day and then, oh, God, I'm going to feel even more overwhelmed.

Speaker B:

And now my family are saying, oh, we don't see you, you're always at work.

Speaker B:

And that's going to start adding the pressure, doesn't it?

Speaker B:

So, you know, running a pet groomers is a real pressure pot at times and we find that a lot of groomers come to us in this sort of state and sometimes we have a little cry on Zoom when talking about the business.

Speaker B:

You know, all that emotion, all that overwhelm, all that stress, all that sort of like, I don't know what to do comes out because we're chat, we're actually talking about what's going on.

Speaker B:

We're actually discussing the issues in the business and understanding what has been going on for the last year, three years, five years, eight years.

Speaker B:

You know, I honestly, like, I sit here sometimes in with a tear in my eye whilst talking to the person on the other side of Zoom, who is, like, clearly so stressed and fed up and overwhelmed with their business just because there's just that little bit of lack of knowledge around what to do or their mindset is like really getting on top of them, really getting on top of them.

Speaker B:

And it's so sad to see.

Speaker B:

And, and you know, we try our hardest to, to bring these people into the program so that we can support them and start helping them.

Speaker B:

a, me and Emma sat in sort of:

Speaker B:

You know, before then when I was looking, I was looking to lead the police and it's like, well, you know, the business is making profit, but it's not going to support another sort of 45, 50 grand salary, like if I leave the police service.

Speaker B:

So what do we do?

Speaker B:

rship just as lockdown hit in:

Speaker B:

And that's where we started to explore these kind of barriers as well.

Speaker B:

You know, lack of knowledge.

Speaker B:

We had staff, we had lack of knowledge around how to run HR smoothly and properly.

Speaker B:

We got help, we brought on the HR professional.

Speaker B:

That barrier was just like smashed, you know, mindset.

Speaker B:

I learned all about imposter syndrome, we learned about fear and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

Smashed it, you know, and then we started to accelerate our business.

Speaker B:

So I certainly understand where a lot of people are in their businesses and where a lot of people are coming from.

Speaker B:

So that kind of gave me the idea for the pet groomer business program.

Speaker B:

And the idea was developed in:

Speaker B:

So it took me a couple of years to work with pet groomers, understand, understand a bit more from outside of our own business as to what those groomers are getting up to and what's going on in their businesses to that help.

Speaker B:

And then obviously joining other, getting other mentors for myself also opened up my knowledge and understanding of how to run this program and how to implement it, because that's quite important as well.

Speaker B:

So what does the program cover?

Speaker B:

Well, the program covers a lot.

Speaker B:

I make bones about it.

Speaker B:

There is a vast amount of knowledge within the program.

Speaker B:

I mean, only the other day, on our Monday morning, Monday morning coaching session, we did a whole session around health and safety in the salon, what you need for your business, how, what you need to implement, what you need to put together the documents you need to look at, you know.

Speaker B:

And then on the Tuesday night when we ran our second coaching session, we sat down as a group and wrote out a six email Sequence template which people could take away and implement in their business.

Speaker B:

So, you know, along with answering the questions on the coaching sessions, we do good practical sessions as well.

Speaker B:

So, so we have.

Speaker B:

So what is the business cover?

Speaker B:

You know, this is where my brain's just going all over the place, isn't it?

Speaker B:

The business program will start to cover your structure.

Speaker B:

Okay, how do you run your business?

Speaker B:

Are you a sole trader?

Speaker B:

Are you a limited company?

Speaker B:

Do you understand your numbers?

Speaker B:

You know, we look at numbers so much.

Speaker B:

Are you working to a financial target?

Speaker B:

I can't.

Speaker B:

It surprises me over and over again when I ask pet groomers and when I talk to them, how much money do you want to earn?

Speaker B:

And their face just, is just blank, you know.

Speaker B:

And I'll get that little cheeky smile going.

Speaker B:

You know what, Bill?

Speaker B:

I've never thought about it.

Speaker B:

I've never thought how much do I want to earn from my business?

Speaker B:

So we start looking at your structure of your business.

Speaker B:

Like how do you run it, what days do you work, what hours do you work, how much money do you want to earn over the year, how much money you want to earn over the month, how much money you want to earn a week, a day.

Speaker B:

And then we sort of look at how much, how do we earn that we then look at like, how do you welcome your customers?

Speaker B:

What's your customer journey?

Speaker B:

What's the journey through your salon?

Speaker B:

How, how are you doing your, you know, how are you actually grooming the pets?

Speaker B:

What's your follow up, what's your, you know, taking payments and everything like that afterwards?

Speaker B:

So everything is on the table.

Speaker B:

Everything in the structure is on the table.

Speaker B:

And that's covering questions.

Speaker B:

We've also got video lessons which I'll show you.

Speaker B:

I'm not going to show you all the lessons, don't, don't worry.

Speaker B:

But I'll show you the portal and show you the kind of lessons that we cover.

Speaker B:

Massive, massive, massive area of the program is pricing.

Speaker B:

Because so many people come to us with what they think they understand is low prices and they just really struggle to understand why they're charging what they're charging.

Speaker B:

And they under they, because again, this links back to how much money we want to earn.

Speaker B:

Their prices don't reflect sometimes what their business costs them to run.

Speaker B:

So we have to do a lot of work around pricing and that falls into the structure, but it also falls into the massive mindset barriers that we find.

Speaker B:

So we do a lot around pricing.

Speaker B:

And I'll talk about the mentors that we have because we have a Specialist pricing mentor on the program and believe me, he does a question and answer session once a month and he gets a bigger audience than I do.

Speaker B:

Quite often on the, on the, on the coaching sessions and quite often people go away and they put their prices up and, or even, even whilst on the call he challenges, he, he has challenged some people to go and put their prices up or ask their clients for some more money whilst on the call and they've gone away and they've turned like a 40 pound appointment in I think the like 110 pound appointment because not only they put the price up but they introduced add ons and teeth cleaning and all sorts.

Speaker B:

It was amazing.

Speaker B:

That was an amazing call.

Speaker B:

So everyone, a lot of the clients look forward to this coaching call on a Monday normally like second to last week of a month where our pricing mentor comes on and kicks some ass.

Speaker B:

Really holds people accountable which is really important, isn't it?

Speaker B:

Answers questions around pricing and also teaches the groomers how to be, how to, how to sell their services.

Speaker B:

Not in a icky sales way because we don't like icky, do we?

Speaker B:

We don't like, we're not salespeople and a lot of us have like real barriers in our minds about setting, selling our products.

Speaker B:

But he talks them through like a six step sales process, how to, how to win that sale tactics.

Speaker B:

We, we've got sales scripts to help people that are really shy on the phone.

Speaker B:

There's so much in there.

Speaker B:

And again I'll show you the portal in add ons.

Speaker B:

I mean we come back to our pricing, we work out what we want to earn.

Speaker B:

But do we have to earn that through dog grooming?

Speaker B:

Do we possibly not?

Speaker B:

You know, I think a lot of people get fixated in the fact that we're dog groomers but you've got so many more skills than just being a dog groomer.

Speaker B:

Dog grooming is like your core business but you've got so many skills that you've learned over the years handling pets and working with pets.

Speaker B:

So we can introduce some fantastic add ons into our business.

Speaker B:

And there's so many products within the dog grooming innovation industry that are there to help the pets that we're working with that we can open up to our customers.

Speaker B:

I mean not only there's like this morning just before I came live and here, you know, a client put in the WhatsApp group that okay, the grooming appointments have been a bit quieter but he's tracking the teeth cleaning and he's smashing the teeth cleaning out okay, so he's making the money that he needs, but it doesn't all come from dog grooming.

Speaker B:

So we really look at add ons and how we can, you know, give great customer service by adding add ons to our business.

Speaker B:

Because there are some very valuable add ons that we can help our customers with.

Speaker B:

And that is the key and that is so important to us that we help the dog first.

Speaker B:

And when we help in the pet, you know, the money will actually follow.

Speaker B:

When we do the we are passionate about, the money will actually come in as well.

Speaker B:

So add ons is really, really important because there's so much knowledge and skills that you have as pet professionals that you can bring to your, to your grooming salon.

Speaker B:

Marketing.

Speaker B:

Geez.

Speaker B:

I mean, this topic is just ginormous, isn't it?

Speaker B:

And yeah, you know, I see it in the big group, you know, oh, it's a bit quiet this month or September's been a poor month, or, you know, how can I get more people in?

Speaker B:

What can I do?

Speaker B:

This question comes up probably every other day within the program and we do whole coaching sessions all about it.

Speaker B:

And not only, you know, have you got my experience around marketing a pet groomers for the last 15 or so years, you've got everyone else's experience within the program and what they do.

Speaker B:

But we really encourage our clients to work on their marketing assets.

Speaker B:

So marketing assets are things that you do in your business that are out there working for you all the time.

Speaker B:

So this isn't just putting Facebook posts out every day because that can be quite gutty, quite, quite time consuming, quite boring at times.

Speaker B:

But this is like working on your, your brochures, your leaflets, your website, your Google, you know, your radio interviews, your podcast interviews, your, you know, what I call blogs, newsletters, all sorts of things.

Speaker B:

Marketing assets are things that are out there working for your business and bringing people, bringing your business to the people's faces.

Speaker B:

And that's one of our mottos is like get in their faces.

Speaker B:

You know, let's get out there and show people who you are and what you're about and what your values are and like, let's get those reviews in.

Speaker B:

So we work really hard on marketing assets and everyone in the program shares what they're doing.

Speaker B:

If we make a Canva template that everyone loves, we share that with each other so other people can grab hold of it and use it.

Speaker B:

And then we've got experts as well within the program.

Speaker B:

We've got a graphic designer within the program who loves Canva and she does lessons around Canva, but she's also a fantastic expert on branding and branding your business.

Speaker B:

Because if we're charging good prices, if we want to charge good prices and we want to have a confident mindset, we need to have good branding for our business.

Speaker B:

We need to stand out.

Speaker B:

We can't be lazy these days.

Speaker B:

There's so much competition out there.

Speaker B:

We can't be lazy and just like put a picture of our last poodle that we groomed and Facebook crops it so we see is the poodle's bunghole on your.

Speaker B:

On your Facebook banner.

Speaker B:

You can't be lazy.

Speaker B:

So we work on our branding, making sure everything is on brand, understanding what branding is, understanding what message you're putting out there into the world.

Speaker B:

So you can work with Lauren.

Speaker B:

And Lauren offers like half an hour one to ones with people for anyone that are stuck on their Canva, you know, or looking to improve.

Speaker B:

But she also holds masterclasses that you can watch all around branding and why it's so important.

Speaker B:

And then Facebook, we've got this fantastic mentor who, you know, she's a.

Speaker B:

She has mentors herself from America that work within Facebook, so she knows what's coming in with Facebook.

Speaker B:

So Zoe is all about the strategic side of marketing.

Speaker B:

And only the other day, like, someone wants to get into email marketing and they wanted to set up mailchimp and stuff.

Speaker B:

She's on it.

Speaker B:

She messaged me, I want to do a masterclass about mailchimp because I see someone wants to do it Tuesday.

Speaker B:

I think it was a Wednesday night.

Speaker B:

Bang.

Speaker B:

Here's how you set up mailchimp.

Speaker B:

This is how you do it.

Speaker B:

This is what you need to do.

Speaker B:

Off you go.

Speaker B:

And then the next week we did a session writing six emails to get you started.

Speaker B:

So, you know, it all ties in.

Speaker B:

So Zoe again, won't sort of tell you how to do your Facebook post, but she'll tell you how to schedule them and the.

Speaker B:

And the structure and what you need to put in them, the keywords and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

She's all about the strategic side of marketing and then obviously implementation.

Speaker B:

I mean, how many of you are sitting there going, doing dog after dog after dog?

Speaker B:

I want no time for social media.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God, how can I actually do that?

Speaker B:

You know what?

Speaker B:

When do you actually get the time to do this?

Speaker B:

Well, actually, we put our prices up.

Speaker B:

We don't need to do as many dogs, do we?

Speaker B:

Because we can earn the same amount of money.

Speaker B:

Oh, but I can't put my prices up because no one will pay that money, well, that comes into your mindset, doesn't it?

Speaker B:

So let's work on your mindset, okay?

Speaker B:

So when we start looking at this, we can start implementing what we're learning and start making big changes to our business.

Speaker B:

So like I said here, as you can see here, mindset overarches everything we do.

Speaker B:

And I knew straight away, or I knew, if I grew a program where it was just me going, put your prices up.

Speaker B:

Put your prices up.

Speaker B:

Put your prices up.

Speaker B:

Put your prices up.

Speaker B:

You know, it gets so boring, doesn't it?

Speaker B:

And I'm sure you have family members that going, well, it's easy, isn't it?

Speaker B:

You just put your prices up and then people pay you more and you get more money.

Speaker B:

Oh, well, that's like, I wouldn't be in a job, would I, if that was so easy?

Speaker B:

There was.

Speaker B:

You can just put your prices up.

Speaker B:

It's not easy.

Speaker B:

I completely understand that.

Speaker B:

And me saying put your prices up has probably made some of you feel quite sick, you know, that.

Speaker B:

Oh, that knot in your stomach, maybe sweaty hands, you know, a bit of panic about you going, I can't put my prices up.

Speaker B:

I really did it last year, I did it five years ago.

Speaker B:

I can't do it again.

Speaker B:

You know, or the diary is really quiet.

Speaker B:

If I put my prices up, it'll be even quieter.

Speaker B:

Well, that might be because of our marketing, our branding.

Speaker B:

We're not attracting the right amount of customers.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

So anyway, mindset.

Speaker B:

I knew that if we didn't sort out the mindset issues that business, small business owners have, you know, we wouldn't get anywhere and we wouldn't see the amazing results that we do now.

Speaker B:

So I went away and did a.

Speaker B:

A course, which again, unlocked a lot of this stuff for me.

Speaker B:

And I learned about the how to help people get through their mindsets.

Speaker B:

But we've also got a dedicated mentor within the group that has done the same training as me and a bit more.

Speaker B:

And she's a pet groomer.

Speaker B:

So again, she understands completely what mindset issues people go through.

Speaker B:

So we work, like all the time around the mindset issues.

Speaker B:

And, you know, we had a mindset call last night, a dedicated mindset call where people were working through issues around pricing and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

So we know that until we start removing the fear, you know, and the procrastination, this won't happen.

Speaker B:

But we're here for you every day, you know, to help you implement.

Speaker B:

And sometimes, you know, my coaching calls can be quite challenging because I want to know what action people are taking and people will sort of message me saying, you know, thanks for that Bill.

Speaker B:

You've given me a real sort of kick up the bum which I really appreciate and I'm now going to go and do it.

Speaker B:

And there's, there's different, different techniques to start.

Speaker B:

Helping you implement things within your business base is understanding everything.

Speaker B:

And quite a lot of the procrastination that we get is because we don't understand how to use Canva or we don't understand what message to put out on our Facebook or we're too fearful about putting our prices up or we don't understand our accounts.

Speaker B:

And so we don't, we just sit there and sit on them and don't do anything about them which then leads to, to morph here.

Speaker B:

It's just a big vicious circle which we kind of implement, which we kind of intervene on.

Speaker B:

And you know, I sit here and if I haven't spoken to someone for a while and they've gone quiet and I've not heard from them, I've not seen them in the group, maybe they've not approached the coaching calls, it might be there on holiday but quite often they get a little DM in their, in their messages going, everything all right?

Speaker B:

Do you want to book in a one to one, how you going?

Speaker B:

What's going on?

Speaker B:

Because sometimes people go quiet and they need a little bit of like popping up in a bit of, a little bit of help.

Speaker B:

I'm going to take a breather and a bit of, a bit of cup of tea.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

So that's kind of like I've kind of explained to you what the program's about and what we look to cover and you know, the barriers that I find pet groomers have with their business and then what the sort of things that we look to sort of move you through within the program.

Speaker B:

Now I call it a program because I don't believe business is ever completed.

Speaker B:

You know, even the, even in the last two years that I've been doing this, you got only going to look at how far AI is coming on.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

So you might be like, well yeah, you know, I've been in business for 20 years.

Speaker B:

You know, I know I'm doing, I've got a good customer base.

Speaker B:

I'm not going to tell everyone that I feel really overwhelmed by it all or that I don't actually take a wage from my business.

Speaker B:

You'd be very surprised how many people I speak to that have got big salons, they've got big, big teams or they've Got staff.

Speaker B:

And then they come to me and they're like, I don't take a wage.

Speaker B:

And you're like, okay, why are we running this business?

Speaker B:

You know, what are we running this business for?

Speaker B:

So, but you only, you only got to see like in the last couple of years where AI has come along and we need to harness that and we can harness that for our business.

Speaker B:

So like I was saying, like business doesn't change.

Speaker B:

Business is forever changing.

Speaker B:

We're forever growing.

Speaker B:

New add ons come onto the market, we need to learn about them, new techniques.

Speaker B:

You know, a few years ago we didn't have TikTok, perhaps everyone was using Instagram, but now maybe it's more tick tock or X.

Speaker B:

You know, it's ever, is ever evolving.

Speaker B:

And the mentors, you know, I'm reading books, I'm got, I get coaching calls myself from my own mentors that bring in new ideas and the mentors that we have around us sort of are constantly updating and bringing new, new aspects to the, to the business program.

Speaker B:

So I call it a program because it's not a course.

Speaker B:

You don't complete it, you don't complete business.

Speaker B:

You know, you cut, you don't just turn up and do a 12 month course.

Speaker B:

And this is, this has actually turned people away.

Speaker B:

I know it because I can see it in their faces when they say, well, you know, can I not just do it in 12 months?

Speaker B:

It's like, no, it's forever changing.

Speaker B:

It's forever moving on.

Speaker B:

You'll make, you'll definitely make changes within the first couple of months and you'll see improvements and you'll see changes.

Speaker B:

But it's a long process and again, if we think about the overwhelmed side of things and how overwhelming it can be running a business, I don't want people coming in there and going, right, I'm now going to recruit an apprentice, I'm going to put my prices up, I'm going to launch a website, I'm going to become a training academy and I'm going to do it all in six months.

Speaker B:

I'd be like, no you're not.

Speaker B:

Because that will never work.

Speaker B:

We do one thing, get it done, plan it out, put some goals in place, get it done, move on, change.

Speaker B:

And then we identify like what's the most important thing for your business right now?

Speaker B:

It might be that you've got to increase your prices because you're just not taking as much money as you need to for your business.

Speaker B:

And we look at doing that and then, you know, we look at introducing an apprentice.

Speaker B:

Because now we grow, our price isn't a good level, we can afford to pay an apprentice, we starting to understand employment a bit more and we can start bringing an apprentice into our business to start grow it.

Speaker B:

And then once the apprentice is up and running and maybe six to nine months later they're sort of clipping and helping you out.

Speaker B:

Well then maybe that's when we start to look at the training academy or maybe we look to bring another apprentice in and to grow the team a little bit more.

Speaker B:

And then we look at the training academy side of things so, you know, we pace it out.

Speaker B:

We don't just go business like we don't complete it in six months.

Speaker B:

So that does frustrate some people when, when I'm doing, talking to them about the program and talking to them about the sales call and they're like, I want it now, now, now, now, now.

Speaker B:

But believe me, it just, some people can cope with that.

Speaker B:

But it just burns out.

Speaker B:

You'll burn out and you'll get so overwhelmed and it'll be too much.

Speaker B:

So that's why I call it a program.

Speaker B:

It's like you don't complete it and it enables us to take the payments for the program over 24 months.

Speaker B:

So it's spread out over two years.

Speaker B:

It's a business expense.

Speaker B:

But after that you just carry on with us.

Speaker B:

You carry on getting that support.

Speaker B:

And some people drift off and come back when they've got specific questions.

Speaker B:

Some people are there all the time.

Speaker B:

So it's like bringing on a business partner or business partners with, with all the mentors and the, and the rest of the community, I suppose.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

So let's have a look at the, let's have a look at the portal that you get access to.

Speaker B:

One second.

Speaker B:

Let's have a look at the portal.

Speaker B:

Okay, well I've still got people viewing.

Speaker B:

I love it.

Speaker B:

Fantastic.

Speaker B:

John said anyone thinking about joining do it.

Speaker B:

My business has almost, has almost doubled it's turnover since joining.

Speaker B:

Unbelievable.

Speaker B:

Fantastic.

Speaker B:

John.

Speaker B:

This is, this was me when I joined Bill.

Speaker B:

I was overwhelmed, stressed and probably a bit lonely.

Speaker B:

I don't have that anymore.

Speaker B:

I won't feel like I'm working on my own.

Speaker B:

I'm part of a team.

Speaker B:

As I have questions, I now have someone to answer them.

Speaker B:

Then I'm not just a dog groomer, I'm a business owner.

Speaker B:

Exactly, exactly.

Speaker B:

You're business owner.

Speaker B:

That's what we love about it, you know.

Speaker B:

Right, so what I'm showing you here hopefully is our business portal.

Speaker B:

Let me just make sure it flicks over.

Speaker B:

Yep, cool.

Speaker B:

Okay, so everyone that joins up as part of the welcome package you get access to our business portal.

Speaker B:

Now you can view this portal on your phone, you can view this on a laptop, desktop, iPad.

Speaker B:

You can also view it on the Pet Passion to Profit app as well.

Speaker B:

So you get a bit of a different view.

Speaker B:

But when people say like business is lonely, you don't have to be lonely anymore, you can just stick me in the mentors in your ears throughout the day and trust me, I am forever like shocked when people say to me I have gone through like five or six lessons today on the portal.

Speaker B:

I'm like, you really want to hear me that much throughout the day?

Speaker B:

I'm not sure, I don't know.

Speaker B:

But the portal is there to help you and guide you and it's sort of self guided learning and lessons.

Speaker B:

So as you can see here you've got the welcome Malcolm module which shows you how to use the portal, how to what sort of values we have within the, within the group about sharing your wins, sharing our challenges, getting shit done.

Speaker B:

That's one of our mottos.

Speaker B:

Using the resources, you know, things that you need to start looking at for yourself.

Speaker B:

Then we've got our mindset module to go through our goals module, organization and systemization, outstanding customer service add ons.

Speaker B:

So we've got lessons around teeth cleaning products that we use with teeth cleaning, how we sell our teeth cleaning and other stuff.

Speaker B:

We've got an accounts module to look at.

Speaker B:

So as a sole trader, how to look at your expenses, keep track of them, paying yourself tax, national insurance and the same again with a limited company.

Speaker B:

We then start looking at your money side of things.

Speaker B:

So finances, personal finances, investing if you want to get into that, how to get through that vat.

Speaker B:

Now we've probably supported, I think I was trying to account up but I think there's about five or six businesses this year that have gone through the VAT barrier.

Speaker B:

So we've supported them with like not only the mindset support, how to get your, you know, what to talk to your customers about how to do it but the, the mindset support around it but also like how do you actually implement it and account for it and banks, like how do you work out your bank account and stuff like that with vat, how to pay it, how to like get onto zero and all sorts of stuff like that.

Speaker B:

We've got another mentor, Fanny Snaith who's a money coach so she deals with all personal finances for us where we look at engagement with your social media, then we're looking at our pricing module, branding, branding, masterclasses, Canva tips, leadership.

Speaker B:

If you've got a team and you want to learn more about becoming a leader within your business and it's not just for people that have staff and employees, you can actually learn quite a lot around being a leader with your customers here.

Speaker B:

And Louise puts together a lot of lessons on a Thursday night once a month all about leadership within your, within your business.

Speaker B:

Then obviously we've got social media, we've got a HR module and then lots of, lots and lots of bonus materials.

Speaker B:

So as you can see there, there's hundreds and hundreds of hours of resources there for you to start self paced learning, work through or even if you think, well I've got a question, is there a video about this?

Speaker B:

Can I ask the group, can I ask the WhatsApp group, Can I go onto a coaching call and ask that question?

Speaker B:

We've got our own little chat bot, chat bot Bill that's in development at the moment.

Speaker B:

So again because we're filling up so much of it, we have so much information on this we're putting together with the use of AI like how to, how to search for information within the program really quickly.

Speaker B:

So Chatbot Bill, it was, I renamed that you can ask a question and it will give you an answer and point you to the resource as well.

Speaker B:

So point you to the video that you want to re watch.

Speaker B:

So we got that, that's developing as well.

Speaker B:

And then we've got all the bookings.

Speaker B:

So as you can see you can book on your calls with the, with the various mentors, you can get training around teeth cleaning with other, with other customers, with other clients within the, within the program.

Speaker B:

You can book a one to one with me if you like get really stuck and you can't find your way, you can get an accountability buddy for each month so you can team up with another pet groomer to help you get shit done.

Speaker B:

And then you've got resources and resources just like contracts or so much in there.

Speaker B:

Let me click the button because there's so much instant forms, there's artwork in there, leaflets, accounts, contracts, price increase posters, profit and loss downloads, social media tracker, teeth cleaning hubs where customer founders, excel spreadsheets, there's so much in there, contracts and policies, direct debits, risk assessments.

Speaker B:

So you know, it's massive.

Speaker B:

And so you know instead of having to go to like loads and loads of various Facebook groups to try and find what you're looking for, the resources are probably There, they're probably already in there and they're shared from other groomers.

Speaker B:

The most popular one at the moment is probably the, the sales script.

Speaker B:

So we have a sales script written out that you can use whilst talking to people on the phone, you know, so to give you confidence and to help you, help you do that.

Speaker B:

Now let's have a, let's have a very quick look at the, the mentors.

Speaker B:

Obviously, hopefully you know me.

Speaker B:

So let's have a look at what else we've got.

Speaker B:

We got Louise, she's a current, she's currently a pet grooming business owner and she's our mindset mentor.

Speaker B:

So again she's done the same qualifications that I have and she's done more around CBT and stuff and she holds a call every other week to work on people's mindset.

Speaker B:

We've got Robin, Robin Waite.

Speaker B:

I met him a few years ago.

Speaker B:

Speechless.

Speaker B:

I'm just speechless with what, who he is.

Speaker B:

You know, he's a best selling author, he's a business coach.

Speaker B:

He coaches businesses all over the world.

Speaker B:

He specializes in products and pricing and pricing mindset.

Speaker B:

He's written loads and loads of fantastic books.

Speaker B:

He, he's, you know, one.

Speaker B:

You're going to hear about him one day on the Diary of the CEO podcast.

Speaker B:

I'm, he's working towards it and I'm definitely sure he'll get on there one day.

Speaker B:

You know, to work with Robin alone would cost you so much money is, you know, it's hard to put into words the value that he brings to the program.

Speaker B:

So he does a call once a month all around your pricing and pricing mindset and sales.

Speaker B:

Lauren, a fantastic graphic designer who will help you in Masterclasses 1 to ones around Canva and your branding again does like fantastic branding for, for our customers, for our clients.

Speaker B:

An amazing, amazing graphic designer.

Speaker B:

Funny stage.

Speaker B:

I, I kind of thought, well if we're going to be making money making our clients money then you know, we need to know how to manage the money.

Speaker B:

We need to understand how to, what to do with money.

Speaker B:

So Fanny Snail is a money coach.

Speaker B:

So again she works with the mindset of, of money, asking for money, talking about money, how to get out of debt, how to invest your money, how to make more money and savings, etc.

Speaker B:

So she does like a monthly masterclass and again for some people she's been life changing.

Speaker B:

I don't use those words lightly and they will tell you themselves that Fanny, how Fanny has helped them with their personal finances has been life changing for them.

Speaker B:

And again, you know, to work with Fanny on your own is thousands of pounds.

Speaker B:

But again, she's part of our business.

Speaker B:

Mentors Zoe, here again, international social media coach, works on tv, works with coaches in America.

Speaker B:

So you get to understand Facebook and stuff like that before we do in the uk and again, works on the strategy side of social media.

Speaker B:

So again, all these people would cost you thousands of pounds to work with.

Speaker B:

And they are giving their time, you know, I pay them to be part of our, our business program and they put their time in to, to help, to help our clients.

Speaker B:

So, you know, that's the kind of overview of the program and I hope that's helpful to give you some kind of insight into what the program is all about because it is quite big and I'm probably my own worst enemy at times where I don't really go in and explain it too well to people.

Speaker B:

The community is just amazing.

Speaker B:

The wins that we get from it are not, you know, we talk a lot about money and you will talk a lot about money if you join the program.

Speaker B:

But it's given you clarity and focus around your income and what you want to earn.

Speaker B:

So it's really important as a business owner.

Speaker B:

But some of the wins are just, you know, mindset wins, their life wins.

Speaker B:

You know, we've helped people get out of debt the first time in their adult life.

Speaker B:

They've paid for holidays without using credit cards and getting into debt.

Speaker B:

We've taken pet groomers who are working six days a week down to four days a week and earning more money.

Speaker B:

We've taken groomers out of universal credit.

Speaker B:

You know, their goals being that they no longer want to be tied to universal credit.

Speaker B:

And they've worked hard with us and we've taken them out of universal credit.

Speaker B:

We've helped groomers, you know, move locations across the country and set back up and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

And we've just sort of helped groomers go through like VAT times, price increases, dealing with complaints, all sorts.

Speaker B:

There's nothing that isn't covered on the program.

Speaker B:

So when it comes to money, I'm not going to give away how much it is.

Speaker B:

And that's one question that people always ask.

Speaker B:

But I said to someone the other day, if the program is unaffordable for you each month, then we're not doing our job.

Speaker B:

I'm not doing my job.

Speaker B:

The program is a business expense.

Speaker B:

Your business pays for it.

Speaker B:

But, but if you're not covering that and some.

Speaker B:

And you're, you know, I'm not doing my job.

Speaker B:

Or you're not doing the work.

Speaker B:

So the program does come with a guarantee that life, you know, if you're doing the work, you're attending the calls you're doing, you know, putting the work in and we're watching it and you're getting help and you're part of the community and you're not seeing those changes, then we will put more work in with you or we'll just refund you the money on it.

Speaker B:

So it's a no brainer really, but it works for people.

Speaker B:

And like one example, someone joined the program and they're doing an extra £3,000amonth for the last 17 months.

Speaker B:

That's 13 times more than what they were paying each month for the program.

Speaker B:

And their payments are about to finish in the next month or so.

Speaker B:

So win, win for them because they carry on getting that support.

Speaker B:

So I hope you have a bit more understanding now of the business program.

Speaker B:

I wanted to reach out and make sure that this can be helpful for you so you have a bit more understanding if you want to find out more.

Speaker B:

And we're not icky salespeople, we're not pushy.

Speaker B:

You know, I want this program to work for you and I want people, I don't want people just joining because they think it's like a magic bullet, it's hard work.

Speaker B:

And I want to work with business owners that really want to make a change in their lives and changing their business.

Speaker B:

So you know, we're not pushy phoning you up every other day saying are you, are you coming on?

Speaker B:

Are you coming on?

Speaker B:

Are you coming on?

Speaker B:

If you are genuinely interested and you really want to make a change in your business and change in your life, then we want to hear from you.

Speaker B:

You know, I want to work with people that want to make a change and they want to show up and they want to do the work and they want to understand their business and they want to make more money and they want to provide value to their customers and they want to change everything about their business.

Speaker B:

So if that is you and you're thinking, yeah, I can do that, we have got a link that I'll add to the comments of this video and it's just literally leave your name, telephone number and email address and then we'll start emailing you and getting the ball rolling and we'll have a more in depth conversation about how we can help you.

Speaker B:

If you don't want to do that, then send us a message, a DM or an email to inferotpassiontoprofit.com make sure you go and check out the Facebook page, Pet Passion to profit and read the wins, read the Google reviews, read the case files.

Speaker B:

These are all written by customers and clients that you know.

Speaker B:

All the wins are taken from the program, from the clients.

Speaker B:

Go and listen to the podcast.

Speaker B:

There's many episodes from clients now on there explaining their journey and what they've achieved and what they've done.

Speaker B:

So take some action.

Speaker B:

The program is there to help you and we want you to be a successful business person, successful in your dog grooming business.

Speaker B:

So I'm going to shut up now.

Speaker B:

I hope you've enjoyed it.

Speaker B:

Thank you for, you know, there's 10 or so people watching.

Speaker B:

Thank you for persevering with me.

Speaker B:

That's fantastic.

Speaker B:

Hayley's just gone in, said, yeah, you won't regret it.

Speaker B:

The program, I've been on the program for two years now, have doubled the turnover with no extra staff working four days a week.

Speaker B:

It's allowed me more time and just this week has allowed me to make massive changes to my business and to allow me time off to support my daughter with her extra needs.

Speaker B:

And Hayley's come off universal credit.

Speaker B:

And I know because I bumped into Hayley at Broomfest the other week.

Speaker B:

You know, one of Hayley's goals is like to buy a house and that is on its way.

Speaker B:

I know that's going to happen very, very soon.

Speaker B:

Hayley's massively dedicated to making her goals and dreams dreams happen.

Speaker B:

Amy's just popped in.

Speaker B:

This program pays for itself.

Speaker B:

It has to pay for itself.

Speaker B:

If it's, if it doesn't, then we're not doing the job.

Speaker B:

We're not doing our job.

Speaker B:

So yeah, the fear and procrastination starting this business is real.

Speaker B:

You know, it is real.

Speaker B:

Little podcast and maybe positive alone.

Speaker B:

That's it.

Speaker B:

Over only the last few months we've had an influx of brand new groomers that are starting their businesses.

Speaker B:

And you know, it's for them, it is really putting them on the right foot.

Speaker B:

They're going out there.

Speaker B:

It's amazing.

Speaker B:

Like one of the clients has gone out there, she's been in business for two months and she's charging like £85 for doodles and stuff like that.

Speaker B:

Stuff that maybe if she wasn't on the program, she may have started a whole way lower and it would have taken a years to get to that point.

Speaker B:

So we support her in her pricing and her marketing.

Speaker B:

You know, when she has those little, when they have those little wobbles that things aren't quite as busy as they want it to be.

Speaker B:

We're like, right, go and do this, go and do that.

Speaker B:

Let's get this done.

Speaker B:

You know, so we're always there to support the people and always there with new ideas and a virtual hug at times to help them.

Speaker B:

So yeah, get in touch if you are really genuinely interested and want to change your business and get in touch and we can get you going and get the changes started.

Speaker B:
