11

::

In this introduction, I'll cover what to expect

12

::

for this ongoing resource and what other things

13

::

are available to you as part of this

14

::

project.

15

::

So, welcome to the first episode of The

16

::

Daily Reconnect.

17

::

I'm your host, Janda Han, and these short

18

::

episodes, which I'll start off delivering Monday, Wednesday,

19

::

and Friday, will help you reconnect to the

20

::

present when you feel disconnected or dissociated from

21

::

the world.

22

::

Together, we will try to re-engage with

23

::

our bodies and our minds to reconnect with

24

::

reality and the world as much as we

25

::

can anyways.

26

::

This is especially important now that we're living

27

::

in interesting times.

28

::

Maybe isolated times in a rapidly wildly changing

29

::

world.

30

::

So, what you're feeling, whatever that might be,

31

::

makes sense.

32

::

We all handle difficulty and stress and change

33

::

and isolation and disconnection in our own ways.

34

::

For me, particularly because I'm quite physically and

35

::

socially isolated, stress often results in this feeling

36

::

of an odd disconnection.

37

::

It's really hard to describe, but everything feels

38

::

and to a certain extent even looks unreal.

39

::

Maybe partially because of my Groundhog Day existence.

40

::

Sometimes we might disassociate on purpose, just to

41

::

cope.

42

::

But stressful situations, which can vastly differ amongst

43

::

all of us, often result in these similar

44

::

kinds of experiences.

45

::

And any and all of this is entirely

46

::

valid.

47

::

So, it's important to mention I am NOT

48

::

a professional in mental health or anything like

49

::

that.

50

::

Which is, well, I'll add that little preamble

51

::

before these episodes start.

52

::

But I am a human and human connection

53

::

can help.

54

::

And that is the fundamental purpose of this

55

::

project.

56

::

There's often no one that's coming to help

57

::

or save us, but we can try to

58

::

reach out and help one another.

59

::

So the episodes, which I expect to be

60

::

roughly 10 minutes in length or so, we'll

61

::

see what feels right over the coming weeks,

62

::

will contain two main sections.

63

::

The first part will help you re-engage

64

::

with yourself.

65

::

We'll do this in a bunch of different

66

::

ways, primarily using simple exercises that I'll walk

67

::

you through.

68

::

The second part will be designed to motivate.

69

::

Many, or even most of us, we can't

70

::

count on anyone from that place of power

71

::

coming to save us, like I mentioned, right?

72

::

Especially in our world now.

73

::

So we need to come together as individuals

74

::

to help ourselves, so we can work together

75

::

collectively in action to make change.

76

::

And when that's sustained, it can be quite

77

::

powerful and strong.

78

::

Being disconnected doesn't help us or others.

79

::

Reconnecting to ourselves and then others might.

80

::

I won't include toxic positivity or blind optimism

81

::

or ignore the reality of the vast variety

82

::

of our unique situations.

83

::

I'm a lifelong skeptic with a desire to

84

::

have hope when I can, and I thrive

85

::

on those deep dives and facts, and I

86

::

really dislike assumptions.

87

::

I understand that there's so much variety out

88

::

there in things around access, capacity, and culture.

89

::

So I'll try to keep everything fairly high

90

::

level as much as I can, so you

91

::

can hopefully apply these exercises and the motivation

92

::

to your own situation.

93

::

I know everything that I say, it won't

94

::

work for everyone, but I'll do my best,

95

::

and I welcome conversation and input, of course.

96

::

So if you want to get involved and

97

::

feel connected to other listeners, Stereo Forest has

98

::

a Discord server, and I'll link the channel

99

::

in the show notes that will be dedicated

100

::

to the show.

101

::

The link will go right to that channel.

102

::

So you can use that to connect with

103

::

the show, with me, and with each other.

104

::

We are real humans, and we need human

105

::

connection during this time.

106

::

There's power in connection.

107

::

It's active.

108

::

It helps during difficult times, and some form

109

::

of connection helps us carry on and get

110

::

the work that needs to be done accomplished

111

::

during hard times, like now.

112

::

So that's what to expect for The Daily

113

::

Reconnect.

114

::

We will get started in the next episode

115

::

with visualizations and exercises, and see where this

116

::

takes us together.

117

::

Thank you so much for listening.

118

::

Thank you for listening to The Daily Reconnect.
