Transcripts

Speaker A:

What's up, y'all?

Speaker A:

It's a windy day.

Speaker A:

So lately we've been on the topic of living a life in the Spirit.

Speaker A:

And what does that mean?

Speaker A:

We've been on the topic of gaining the spirit of Christ is to gain the fruits of the Spirit.

Speaker A:

How to display those fruits is how you tell and distinguish yourself from the world.

Speaker A:

What does that mean exactly?

Speaker A:

I've had conversations with some of my friends, and, you know, we talk about some of the sins that have ensnared us from time to time.

Speaker A:

Some are besetting, some are not.

Speaker A:

I'm grateful and I'm so thankful to Christ that I can say that I am free from all manners of sin.

Speaker A:

Now, that doesn't make me a sinless person.

Speaker A:

Do I still sin?

Speaker A:

Yes, absolutely.

Speaker A:

You know, I miss the mark.

Speaker A:

I miss the opportunity sometimes to not only do the will of God for me and my family, but for others as well.

Speaker A:

So what does that mean to be.

Speaker A:

To live a sinless life, a life pleasing to God?

Speaker A:

I was going through some notes here, and Ephesians 4 and 30 is going to help me break down a statement that I'm going to give you right after.

Speaker A:

So let's go into this.

Speaker A:

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed for the day of redemption.

Speaker A:

That all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice.

Speaker A:

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Speaker A:

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

What does that mean?

Speaker A:

To not grieve the Holy Spirit, you have to first understand that there is a war waging within you.

Speaker A:

There is a battle, the battle between your flesh and your spirit.

Speaker A:

They're at odds with one another.

Speaker A:

They cannot cohabitate.

Speaker A:

Sometimes this brings on the feeling of anxiety within you.

Speaker A:

Sometimes this brings on the feeling of calamity or impending doom.

Speaker A:

You know, as a Christian, if you've ever faced these feelings, if you've ever faced these obstacles, I got to tell you, you're at war.

Speaker A:

The reason why is because you're at war with your members.

Speaker A:

You're trying to cohabitate them.

Speaker A:

You're trying to live in a world where you can have your cake and eat it too.

Speaker A:

And unfortunately, the this world doesn't work like that, right?

Speaker A:

You have to be 100%, totally sold out for Christ.

Speaker A:

I like this little excerpt here.

Speaker A:

This is like the Charles Stanley Bible.

Speaker A:

It's pretty cool, but it has this, like, answers to life questions within it.

Speaker A:

So it pretty much is a simple thing.

Speaker A:

Hey, good morning.

Speaker A:

So it pretty much is a simple thing.

Speaker A:

So I'll just read this little excerpt.

Speaker A:

Sin is still a powerful force, but it can no longer control you unless you allow it to do so.

Speaker A:

You are not doomed to failure.

Speaker A:

Have you ever felt like you were doomed to fail?

Speaker A:

Like that feeling within you that says, I'm not good enough.

Speaker A:

That feeling within you that says, nothing will make me better.

Speaker A:

Salah, the enemy.

Speaker A:

It's lie of your flesh.

Speaker A:

If your flesh wars against you, it does certain things to make you.

Speaker A:

Enforces you into a life of more flesh.

Speaker A:

It's so funny.

Speaker A:

There's actually a study and anyone on here can look this up.

Speaker A:

I'll actually have this study right here.

Speaker A:

You can look it up.

Speaker A:

It's right here.

Speaker A:

Just copy and paste that link or, you know, look it up.

Speaker A:

But there's a study done that shows and people that are addicted to drugs that their brains, their brains literally cause them pain and force them, it forces them to seek out more drugs so that way the brain can get what it wants.

Speaker A:

Your flesh causes you pain physically, mentally, emotionally.

Speaker A:

Your flesh causes you pain.

Speaker A:

So you can stay in a perpetual state of pain.

Speaker A:

It's crazy.

Speaker A:

So let me read this again.

Speaker A:

Sin is still a powerful force, but it can no longer control you unless you allow it to do so.

Speaker A:

You are not doomed to fail and to believe otherwise, to remain in needless painful bondage that breaks the heart of the Lord and grieves the spirit.

Speaker A:

Is that Ephesians 4:30 again?

Speaker A:

But yeah, I mean, that statement is so true, like not understanding who you are.

Speaker A:

And God is what the enemy wants.

Speaker A:

It's a tactic.

Speaker A:

He started it in the garden, right with Adam and Eve, when he attacked Eve.

Speaker A:

He attacked Eve by attacking her identity.

Speaker A:

You know, God gives us his identity by his Word.

Speaker A:

His word is Christ.

Speaker A:

We have our identity through Christ.

Speaker A:

Do you understand?

Speaker A:

And if the word Logos, if Christ is Logos, the word that God gave Adam and Eve, he gave them Christ.

Speaker A:

He gave them their identity through his Word.

Speaker A:

What was His Word?

Speaker A:

Eat everything except for this.

Speaker A:

And what did they do?

Speaker A:

They questioned the enemy, made them question by saying, did God really say, did God give you your identity?

Speaker A:

Are you really a child of God?

Speaker A:

Are you?

Speaker A:

Or are you that same sinner, that same worthless person who you were yesteryear?

Speaker A:

These are the same, same tactics.

Speaker A:

And we need to be understanding of this.

Speaker A:

We need to understand our enemy and how that enemy works.

Speaker A:

And we need to understand how to put our flesh into subjection.

Speaker A:

And the only Way we can do so is by living in the spirit, by displaying the fruits of the spirit.

Speaker A:

Again, this is not something you can do.

Speaker A:

You cannot reproduce the fruits of the spirit and just do them.

Speaker A:

Why?

Speaker A:

Because we've said in the previous videos that our human productivity has limits.

Speaker A:

We have a limit to what we are able to do.

Speaker A:

We have a limit to our kindness.

Speaker A:

We have a limit to our ability to show patience.

Speaker A:

We have a limit to the way that we show love.

Speaker A:

But with God, there are no limits.

Speaker A:

Because God is a limitless being that lives outside of space and time.

Speaker A:

He created it all.

Speaker A:

There is no limits for God.

Speaker A:

If you are moving in the spirit, in the realm of God, you have no limits.

Speaker A:

Therefore, the peace and the love and the patience that you display towards others is a limitless one.

Speaker A:

This is the reason why people can forgive people over and over and over again.

Speaker A:

Now, we don't forget.

Speaker A:

We're not stupid.

Speaker A:

We don't fall for the same booby trap.

Speaker A:

However, we forgive people for their ignorance.

Speaker A:

We forgive people for where they are because we want them to reach salvation.

Speaker A:

See, that's love.

Speaker A:

Wanting someone to achieve salvation is love.

Speaker A:

Now, let's go back here for a second.

Speaker A:

Now, we talked about how this flesh that you're at war with continually causes you pain.

Speaker A:

It causes you pain.

Speaker A:

You seek it out more and more and more to relieve yourself.

Speaker A:

It's interesting.

Speaker A:

For instance, I'll break down mine specifically.

Speaker A:

So mine specifically, my sin, that my flesh was warring with me was cornography.

Speaker A:

I'm going to say it that way for the sake of other platforms who, you know, Rather not.

Speaker A:

So we'll just call it pornography.

Speaker A:

So mine was pornography.

Speaker A:

Steeped in it.

Speaker A:

What I would do was do what people do when they watch it.

Speaker A:

And then I would feel this immense grief and sadness within me, especially when I became saved.

Speaker A:

Because you think it stopped after salvation.

Speaker A:

It only stopped for a little bit.

Speaker A:

But see, I didn't put the work into it.

Speaker A:

I didn't put the work into it.

Speaker A:

And it caught up to me.

Speaker A:

Right now, what is the work?

Speaker A:

Why was I going through this?

Speaker A:

I was going through this because I kept seeking something to comfort me.

Speaker A:

It was a comfort to me.

Speaker A:

Anytime I was stressed, anytime I was sleepy, anytime I was bored, I wanted to be comforted.

Speaker A:

And what I sought, my flesh ward with me was, do not seek your comfort in God.

Speaker A:

Do not seek your comfort in prayer.

Speaker A:

Do not seek your comfort in worship.

Speaker A:

Do not seek your comfort in adoration towards God, but seek your comfort in something easy.

Speaker A:

Seek your comfort in something that you know, seek your comfort in yourself with self gratification.

Speaker A:

It feels good.

Speaker A:

Now, this is something that, obviously afterwards, when I was telling you guys, I was feeling the guilt.

Speaker A:

The guilt and the pain.

Speaker A:

When I was feeling the guilt and the pain and the suffering that was afterwards, because I felt like I was in bondage.

Speaker A:

I felt like a slave, like there was nothing that I could do.

Speaker A:

And this is.

Speaker A:

This is what the enemy's telling us to believe.

Speaker A:

There's nothing you can do.

Speaker A:

You're not worthy.

Speaker A:

Attacking your identity.

Speaker A:

It attacked my identity.

Speaker A:

I lost the identity of the child of God that I was.

Speaker A:

And I took on the very thing that I was fighting.

Speaker A:

I became a very fleshly natured person because of this.

Speaker A:

While still reading the Bible, while still going to church, while still doing all the things that you would think a godly person would do.

Speaker A:

I would have anger issues.

Speaker A:

I would have rage issues.

Speaker A:

I would have issues that would come up and bubble up within me due to the very nature that I was living, which is a fleshly nature.

Speaker A:

And it only produced death.

Speaker A:

And around me, it started to produce death.

Speaker A:

People that were in contact with me started to get a really bitter taste for me.

Speaker A:

They didn't like it.

Speaker A:

They were like, something's off.

Speaker A:

I don't like this.

Speaker A:

I would have friends that will, you know, correct me.

Speaker A:

Hey, I don't think you should do that.

Speaker A:

That's not good.

Speaker A:

Hey, I don't think you know.

Speaker A:

And I would be like, hey, that's.

Speaker A:

Whatever you talking about, this is not what it is.

Speaker A:

I would.

Speaker A:

I would attack them by an identity that I had.

Speaker A:

Crazy word, nasty word, nasty word.

Speaker A:

But this is what happens.

Speaker A:

The pain, the suffering.

Speaker A:

How do we defeat this?

Speaker A:

How do we.

Speaker A:

How do we build ourselves up in the nature of God?

Speaker A:

Listen, man, it's all right here.

Speaker A:

It's all right there.

Speaker A:

Listen.

Speaker A:

You can't stand inside of a fire without getting burned.

Speaker A:

Sometimes you gotta get burned.

Speaker A:

Sometimes you gotta stand in that fire.

Speaker A:

Sometimes you got to stand in that fire and understand that God is with you.

Speaker A:

When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were standing in the flames of the fire in which they were being sacrificed in, there was another with them, one like the son of man, one that had God's glory.

Speaker A:

That's what they're saying.

Speaker A:

Listen, Jesus was there in the midst of them.

Speaker A:

Sometimes you got to get burnt to understand that God is with you.

Speaker A:

If you're listening to this video, if you're watching this, I want you to understand that God loves you.

Speaker A:

I want you to understand that You're a child of God.

Speaker A:

And there are a couple things that I need you to do.

Speaker A:

You need to write this down.

Speaker A:

I'm going to set my word down real quick.

Speaker A:

You need to write this down.

Speaker A:

First thing you got to do, admit, confess.

Speaker A:

Confess your sins.

Speaker A:

Confess your sins.

Speaker A:

Confess it to a pastor, someone in your church community, or a trusted friend.

Speaker A:

Someone who you know that is not going to give you any stupid advice or foolish advice.

Speaker A:

Someone you know that is rooted in the word of God and will give you word advice, best advice you could get.

Speaker A:

That's the first thing you do.

Speaker A:

The second thing you do, get rid of anything, cut it off.

Speaker A:

Anything that is going to cause you to sin.

Speaker A:

Whether that be pornography, whether that be, you know, anger, whether that be this or that, and the other, you know, because corn wasn't the only thing that was.

Speaker A:

I'm struggling with.

Speaker A:

Because, see, with my anger, I would feed it.

Speaker A:

Well, how would I feed it?

Speaker A:

I used to watch rap battles.

Speaker A:

I used to watch rap battles.

Speaker A:

They talk crazy to each other and say the most abominable things, right?

Speaker A:

And I'm just like, wow.

Speaker A:

The way that he.

Speaker A:

The way the word play was, the way that he switched.

Speaker A:

I had to lay that down.

Speaker A:

You gotta lay down anything that's gonna put you in jeopardy, okay?

Speaker A:

If it's social media, take a break.

Speaker A:

Don't call it fast.

Speaker A:

And that's not fasting.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry, I'm sorry to people that believe that, but that's not fasting.

Speaker A:

You're just cutting it off.

Speaker A:

You want to fast, too.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

That's the.

Speaker A:

That's going to be the.

Speaker A:

The third one, but let's stick to this.

Speaker A:

Lay it down.

Speaker A:

If it's your phone, lay it down.

Speaker A:

Only use it for specific reasons.

Speaker A:

Set guidelines, set boundaries.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

So lay things down and set boundaries.

Speaker A:

Remember, the first one was confessing your sin, confessing your fault to a trusted person.

Speaker A:

That's going to give you sound doctrinal advice.

Speaker A:

The second thing, laying it down.

Speaker A:

Lay down your sin.

Speaker A:

Okay, so here's the third thing.

Speaker A:

Pray and fast.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

Pray and fast and build your community.

Speaker A:

It's three.

Speaker A:

But it's three.

Speaker A:

So whatever.

Speaker A:

Pray fast, build your community.

Speaker A:

Okay, so the first one again, confess your sins.

Speaker A:

The second one again, okay, lay those sinful things down.

Speaker A:

And the third thing, pray fast.

Speaker A:

Build up your church community.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

That means going to those prayer meetings.

Speaker A:

That means going to the Holy Spirit nights, if you have them.

Speaker A:

Going to revivals, going.

Speaker A:

And seek, seek, seek.

Speaker A:

So you must seek the kingdom of Heaven.

Speaker A:

And then all these things that you want that are in the kingdom are going to be added to you.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Now these are biblical principles.

Speaker A:

These are biblical principles.

Speaker A:

I've laid down all the scriptures for you to get, for you guys to go and take a look at.

Speaker A:

Now this is serious because some of us are headed for hell and we don't even know.

Speaker A:

But I want you guys to take this seriously and know that I love you.

Speaker A:

I'm giving you this information because I love you.

Speaker A:

And I know I don't know you.

Speaker A:

You could be watching in Timbuktu somewhere, I don't know, Nigeria somewhere.

Speaker A:

You could be a Zim.

Speaker A:

You could be in.

Speaker A:

You could be a member in Zim.

Speaker A:

Just listening in Zimbabwe, you could be in China.

Speaker A:

I don't know where you are, but all I know is I love you.

Speaker A:

God loves you.

Speaker A:

And God wants you to be free from your sin.

Speaker A:

He wants you to live the spirit of life.

Speaker A:

And that is through the Holy Spirit given through Christ Jesus.

Speaker A:

And you can only receive that by asking Christ Jesus into your heart.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

That's by believing in the death, burial and resurrection, right?

Speaker A:

He rose from the dead, his resurrection, and by receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit that he promised you.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

So just as Abraham was accounted for him righteousness, to have faith, you need to have some faith too.

Speaker A:

You need to have faith that Jesus died for you, died for your remission of your sins, took the sacrifice for your sin, and he rose again to new life.

Speaker A:

And you have an inheritance with him.

Speaker A:

You also will die to your sin.

Speaker A:

And you will be risen into new life.

Speaker A:

And all you have to do, all you have to do is ask him.

Speaker A:

So if you have never received Christ and you want to just repeat after me, and I need you to believe it in your heart.

Speaker A:

Heavenly Father, I believe in the work that you have done.

Speaker A:

I believe that you set your son here on this earth.

Speaker A:

I believe that he lived a sinless life.

Speaker A:

And I believe that he laid his life down for me to take the penalty for my sin.

Speaker A:

And I believe that on the third day he rose again to new life so that way I can rise with him and walk in newness of life.

Speaker A:

Heavenly Father, I receive the gift of the Holy Spirit that was promised to me to walk the spiritual life.

Speaker A:

And I thank you for your free gift of salvation.

Speaker A:

If you said this and believe it in your heart, you are now saved.

Speaker A:

You are a brother or sister in Christ and I pray for your.

Speaker A:

I pray for the impartation of the Holy Spirit to be given to you Go ahead, stretch out your hand.

Speaker A:

It might be weird, but you know God does weird things.

Speaker A:

Stretch out your hand.

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker A:

Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

Holy Spirit, come fill whoever is watching right now with your comforting, your peace and I pray right now that they live a life that is pleasing to you.

Speaker A:

In Jesus name, amen.

Speaker A:

Hey guys, thank you so much for watching.

Speaker A:

Please share this, share it with a friend who may be going through a struggle.

Speaker A:

Share it with, you know, a family member, whoever.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

I will answer questions.

Speaker A:

I'm not a debater.

Speaker A:

You want to debate me?

Speaker A:

Don't debate me.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Okay, Debate that guy.

Speaker A:
