Shownotes

It does appear that the prevalence of Covid in secondary schools is somewhat alarming. Figures released by the ONS yesterday suggested that 1 in 14 children of secondary school age were infected with Covid last week.

Across the country the infection rate has risen to 1 in 70 people, clearly placing schools as the driver behind the rises. The one slight positive is that cross-infection to other age groups is not running at the same rate.
Figures from the middle of September put the infection figure at 1 in 35 of those of secondary school age, so no argument about the direction of travel but there are signs we may be seeing the peak.
Of course none of this bodes well if you have a son in Year 10 and are hoping to get away on holiday in two weeks...
Stay safe.
