Speaker A:

Hold on tight.

Speaker A:

We have a great around the house show coming up this weekend.

Speaker A:

Help us out and subscribe on your favorite podcast player.

Speaker A:

home improvement projects in:

Speaker A:

What kind of value does it add to your home?

Speaker A:

G. And John Dudley review the:

Speaker A:

Some projects that you might think add value are a bust for your wallet.

Speaker B:

Solar power installation on a national average $937.

Speaker B:

So 55,000 bucks, almost 56,000 bucks adds value of 16,625.

Speaker B:

So you get a 29.7 return on that investment.

Speaker B:

Now you'd think in Seattle, where they're pro, solar, pro, everything else up there, not at all.

Speaker A:

I don't know why they never see the sun.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker B:

We can make that fun of that.

Speaker B:

That's why my doctor goes, where do you live?

Speaker B:

Oh, you need vitamin D. Try out with four times the legal limit.

Speaker B:

69,330 in Seattle with a 24.2% return.

Speaker A:

So that's just in the second hour.

Speaker A:

Eric G. And John Dudley talk about the top 10 DIY projects you might want to hire a pro to tackle.

Speaker B:

You can get yourself in a world of hurt.

Speaker B:

It's one of those things that I have seen so many bad DIY installs for RE pipes that it's just an absolute hot mess.

Speaker B:

Now, it could be that Roger Wakefield, the expert plumber, sent me over one time where they had re plumbed this house, but they just nailed the PEX pipes on the drywall inside the rooms, going through holes into the next room on the outside and just put it up at the ceiling height and ran it down on the outside of everything and it was a hot mess.

Speaker B:

So you can be shocked at what you see sometimes, right?

Speaker B:

Who did for a homeowner, for a remodel, for a new home.

Speaker B:

Remodel, old home.

Speaker B:

It looked like it was.

Speaker B:

It looked like it was some.

Speaker B:

And again, down there with.

Speaker B:

They have some problems because they usually have slab on grade down there.

Speaker B:

They don't have crawl spaces, they don't have basement.

Speaker B:

So all it takes is for somebody to put that galvanized in the concrete and you got a heck of a mess to deal with.

Speaker B:

So these people just went through and hung it right on the drywall.

Speaker A:
