In a recent conversation with my wife, she reflected on her past experience as a teacher and the various career paths she has considered. Despite enjoying teaching and the positive impact it had on students, she struggled with administrative aspects of the job. This led her to question her true calling in life and whether she should pursue a career as a teacher or explore other opportunities such as house cleaning. This internal dilemma is a common one that many people face - trying to determine their purpose and what they are meant to do in life.
I shared with my wife that I believe we have the power to choose our paths in life, similar to the concept of choosing your own adventure in a book. God has equipped us with unique skills, interests, and personalities that guide us towards our purpose. Our individuality is what drives us towards making a positive impact in the lives of others. Purpose, I believe, is outward-focused, and it involves using our gifts and talents to serve and help those around us.
When seeking our purpose, it is crucial to ask ourselves how we can best serve others and make a difference in their lives. By exploring ways to serve and help people, we can discover where our passion lies and how we can turn that into a fulfilling career or calling. Whether it's assisting someone with household repairs, growing food to donate to those in need, or any other form of service, focusing on others can lead us towards our true purpose.
Ultimately, finding purpose involves embracing our uniqueness, pursuing what brings us joy in serving others, and making a positive impact in the world. By doing good work and staying true to our passions, we can create a fulfilling path that aligns with our calling.
