Shownotes

Ever heard of the summer slide? It's when students, after spending months gaining skills during the school year, start to lose some of that progress over the summer due to a lack of practice. While they don't forget everything, by the time fall comes around, they need a bit of a catch-up, which can amount to as much as two months of lost learning progress. This small gap might seem manageable, but it can stack up over the years, creating a significant disadvantage compared to peers who stay engaged with enrichment activities during the summer.

In this episode, we dive into the dangers of summer slide and discuss how to turn summer into an opportunity for targeted support. I share strategies to transform summer into a "Summer Slingshot," helping propel your child forward and ensuring they start the next school year strong. From leveraging camps and enrichment activities to maintaining daily practice in subjects like math and reading, we'll explore practical ways to fill learning gaps.

Tune in to learn how to prevent summer slide and use the summer months to give your child an academic boost!
