After 20 years split between Sports Authority and Meijer, which one prepared you better for a career in recruiting?
Speaker A:Sporting goods or grocery?
Speaker B:Both of them for sure.
Speaker B:So I think, you know, again I mentioned earlier, I'm kind of behind the scenes guy doing a lot of marketing system, financials at both of those companies in, in the roles that I held there, I was managing, you know, all of those things and with various different people.
Speaker B:And so I learned a ton, especially on the people side.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:You got to see what makes companies successful, what types of people make companies successful, what types of people can, can drag companies down or backwards.
Speaker B:And I think that that's helped, helped tremendously.
Speaker B:And also all the, you know, the regular day to day management and financials and PNLs and all that stuff, that's helped a lot too.
Speaker B:But I did that both places.
Speaker B:So I would say both, all of it's been beneficial for me.
Speaker A:Nice.
Speaker B:Are you ready, Chris?
Speaker B:Question number two.
Speaker B:AI models are now writing full screenplays, creating art, and even composing songs.
Speaker B:So what daily chore in your life do you wish AI would step up and take over for you tomorrow?
Speaker A:Oh, my God, this is funny.
Speaker A:I think my answer would be.
Speaker A:And this is funny because producer Ella and you and I were talking about this before we started, but I think I need to get coffee into my body as soon as I wake up.
Speaker A:Like, there needs to be an AI for, for coffee injection, Josh.
Speaker A:Like, that's the thing.
Speaker A:I don't know that that could ever happen, but man, I wish somebody could figure it out.
Speaker A:Like, just like immediately upon wake up, there's coffee or caffeine inserted into my body.
Speaker A:That's what I would love.
Speaker B:I, I am so surprised you didn't pick something that was harder to do.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker B:Like, right.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's not hard to make a cup of coffee.
Speaker B:Yeah, I want AI to do my dishes, man.
Speaker A:Man, like do your dishes.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, chores.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's probably true.
Speaker A:Sometimes making a cup of coffee in the morning feels like a chore because I gotta wait five minutes for the Keurig to heat up.
Speaker A:But anyway, all right.
Speaker A:Earlier in the show we covered Walmart.
Speaker A:That's a good one.
Speaker A:Walmart teaming up with Papa John's for delivery.
Speaker A:What is the next QSR you would love to see added to the Walmart restaurant tab, which would maybe make you a convert too, Josh.
Speaker B:None.
Speaker B:No, I'm just kidding.
Speaker B:No, if I had to answer, I would say Jersey Mike's.
Speaker B:I love Jersey Mike's.
Speaker A:It's my Jersey Mike's guy.
Speaker B:My favorite Philly around now.
Speaker B:I haven't had some of the Phillies on the east coast, like original Phillies, you know.
Speaker B:But I love Jersey Mike's Philly and I love their Italian sandwich.
Speaker B:So Jersey Mike's is a very easy answer for me.
Speaker A:That's the one I would choose the white American cheese.
Speaker A:I'm with you.
Speaker A:I'm with you.
Speaker A:I see what you're throwing down.
Speaker A:I like that too.
Speaker B:You've experienced some of this lately too, Chris.
Speaker B:So airline travel and airport culture have been in the news a lot as you've seen lately.
Speaker B:So what is your absolute non negotiable rule for airport etiquette that you wish was just written into international law?
Speaker A:Wow, what a great question.
Speaker A:Oh, man, I gotta think about that.
Speaker A:I think I've got two, two rules of airport etiquette or travel etiquette.
Speaker A:One is you should not be allowed to put your seat back at all.
Speaker A:Like, they should just not make that something you can do.
Speaker A:Like every seat should just stay in the same position because it drives me crazy.
Speaker A:Cause I'm relatively tall and I can't stand it when people put their seat back on me.
Speaker A:Drives me nuts.
Speaker A:But probably even more important to me, Josh, is it should be federally outlawed to take off your socks on a plane.
Speaker A:I can't stand when people, especially dudes, and maybe even if it's.
Speaker A:This may even be a gender specific rule, if you're a guy and you take your shoes and your socks off on a plane, you should be immediately taken off the plane, Josh.
Speaker A:That's what I think.
Speaker B:So wait, you're okay with shoes though?
Speaker A:Ah, that's a good question too.
Speaker B:But you're flying internationally, so are you going to take your shoes off when you come back from France?
Speaker A:No, definitely not.
Speaker A:Definitely not.
Speaker A:I don't even take my shoes off in my house, which I get.
Speaker A:I get grief for all the time.
Speaker A:Like, I'm not one of those people that takes their shoes off and they.
Speaker A:Whenever I go to somebody's house, I have to take my shoes off.
Speaker A:I hate it.
Speaker A:But no, so.
Speaker A:So that's a really good question.
Speaker A:Yeah, maybe it's actually.
Speaker A:You can't take your shoes off on a play.
Speaker A:That would be my thing, but that might be a little too extre.
Speaker A:But you take your socks off, I'm out.
Speaker A:Like, you are the worst person in the world to me, Josh.
Speaker A:Do you agree with me or no?
Speaker B:I agree with you.
Speaker B:I definitely agree with you on the seat.
Speaker A:You do?
Speaker B:I.
Speaker A:A lot of people do.
Speaker B:Yeah, I did when we.
Speaker B:When we flew to Italy over the summer.
Speaker B:I did take my shoes off, but, you know, I had clean socks.
Speaker B:Just had put them on that morning.
Speaker B:Like, you know, I felt fine about it.
Speaker B:But I hear you on socks.
Speaker B:Like, that would be a next level if I saw socks, I.
Speaker B:On the ground and shoes.
Speaker B:I think you're right.
Speaker A:I can't believe people.
Speaker A:I've seen people literally go into the airplane restrooms in their bare feet, which is just the absolute most disgusting thing I can ever imagine.
Speaker A:I.
