le to set your intentions for:

Allison Dubois:

Well, Margaret, welcome back.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, thank you.

Margaret Jamison:

Getting ready for the new year.

Allison Dubois:

I know.

Allison Dubois:

le are relieved to be exiting:

Allison Dubois:

It was a little painful, but it was meant to be.

Allison Dubois:

And we don't get another eight year for nine more years.

Allison Dubois:

So we want to really enjoy this last bit of it.

Allison Dubois:

he time this airs, it will be:

Allison Dubois:

So I thought it would be great to have you here today to talk to us about some of the rituals you're practicing to prepare for the new year.

Allison Dubois:

So we can do that as well.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, it is a big one.

Margaret Jamison:

We're ushering in Chinese astrology, the year of the dragon out.

Margaret Jamison:

And actually you're going to find this interesting.

Margaret Jamison:

In Chinese astrology, this is the year of the snake.

Margaret Jamison:

But not only the snake, the wood snake.

Margaret Jamison:

d lined up with the snake was:

Allison Dubois:

Oh, wow.

Margaret Jamison:

And it just sounds like it's so in alignment with Tom McMullen's predictions for everything that ahead.

Margaret Jamison:

I just, I thought I have to.

Allison Dubois:

Add that in the Vietnam War, I think is what started around that.

Margaret Jamison:

to be an interesting year in:

Margaret Jamison:

And like you said, it's going to be a year of real spiritual growth, but full of transitions.

Margaret Jamison:

We're going to have to be very open to releasing, letting go Being open to change, adapting, lots of closure.

Margaret Jamison:

And of course, it's not only things we're releasing, but people around us are also releasing things.

Margaret Jamison:

So it's going to be quite a heady mix, you know.

Margaret Jamison:

going to be doing going into:

Margaret Jamison:

What are we open to releasing?

Margaret Jamison:

Really focusing, especially this year, more on the releasing and setting intentions for personal growth, transformation, getting ready to move forward.

Margaret Jamison:

It's a year where we're going to need a tremendous amount of grounding.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

So out of the things that I'm doing to move forward are all around cleansing my home and getting ready to put more grounding energies, you know, into my practice.

Margaret Jamison:

I'm in Aries, so I'm going to need a lot of grounding this year.

Margaret Jamison:

So one of the things that I'm doing as the new year comes in is I'm doing a grounding floor wash.

Margaret Jamison:

So I'm taking.

Margaret Jamison:

You take about a gallon of water and you add a cup of vinegar in there and you add in some lemon, patchouli, rosemary, cedar, those kinds of grounding herbs.

Margaret Jamison:

And with the intention of clearing out anything negative, especially stagnant, holding you back and opening up the space to renewal and mopping the floor with that is one of the things that really helps a lot of people on the 1st already wash their front doors, you know, do a cleansing on their front doors and set intentions for prosperity entering their house in the new year, or they do it monthly for the new month.

Margaret Jamison:

But this year adding some of those grounding herbs in, even a little eucalyptus maybe, and really washing that front door down, because you're going to need a little bit of protection also.

Margaret Jamison:

What comes through that front door this year.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

So kind of, you know, those little cleansings that we do, not just the smudging work, but also really cleaning the clutter out.

Allison Dubois:

Do you make spray bottles with vinegar, water, lemon patchouli and rosemary?

Margaret Jamison:

Do you know what I am making?

Margaret Jamison:

I'm gonna post those recipes and anybody is interested, they can message me and I will send them the floor wash recipe.

Margaret Jamison:

And then there's a floor sweep recipe that you can also use.

Margaret Jamison:

'm making a grounding oil for:

Allison Dubois:

Yes.

Margaret Jamison:

And full of herbs to really promote clarity of thought, you know, for that, that intention, that grounding to give us the stability to get through all of that and then as herbs and oils for spiritual growth and transformation.

Margaret Jamison:

And so those oils will be in my shop.

Margaret Jamison:

erent herbs to really go into:

Margaret Jamison:

ing to be my two products for:

Margaret Jamison:

And like I said, I will post recipes, the recipes or sweep recipes.

Margaret Jamison:

And if people aren't hooked up on Instagram or Facebook, if they.

Margaret Jamison:

If they message me, I'll.

Margaret Jamison:

I'll send them the recipes.

Allison Dubois:

Okay.

Allison Dubois:

So they DM you and you send them the recipes.

Allison Dubois:

And then grannymagic.com is that information there as well on the website, or are you just doing it through Instagram?

Margaret Jamison:

I don't have it posted, actually on my website, but I have it on my social media and even in my shop if they send me a message through chat.

Allison Dubois:

Okay, okay, that's great.

Allison Dubois:

So, yeah, I know people are going to want to do that.

Margaret Jamison:

I really think this year is the year to do that.

Margaret Jamison:

And when we're setting our intentions this year, one of the things that's really, really helpful is to think in terms of cleansing.

Margaret Jamison:

And so an easy thing to do is to take a bowl of water and just put a little salt in there.

Margaret Jamison:

And then if you have a little.

Margaret Jamison:

A little sprig of rosemary or cedar or something evergreen.

Margaret Jamison:

And as you write what you want to release, you know, really it's about focusing the energy and the intention.

Margaret Jamison:

And if you have a red pen, it helps to write it in red ink.

Margaret Jamison:

Right.

Margaret Jamison:

That's the message of stop.

Margaret Jamison:

And you can fold that up and release it, Put it into the water, and then take your little sprig into the cleansing water and just say, I cleanse this space.

Margaret Jamison:

I free myself from anything holding me back.

Margaret Jamison:

2025 is my year, a year of transformation.

Margaret Jamison:

I think it's.

Allison Dubois:

ing to be really important in:

Allison Dubois:

A lot of people don't like to adapt.

Allison Dubois:

They'll try and force an agenda or run an agenda.

Allison Dubois:

If there's a relationship that doesn't work out for them, it's not working out for them.

Allison Dubois:

The other person doesn't want to be in the relationship anymore.

Allison Dubois:

If you try and fight to keep that relationship, it will not serve your.

Allison Dubois:

Your highest and good.

Margaret Jamison:

So, oh, it'll be a year of trauma.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

repare you for the next year,:

Allison Dubois:

A one year.

Margaret Jamison:

A one year, yes.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, you know, I pulled the tarot cards real quick, and the Tarot card for this 20, 25 is the hermit card.

Margaret Jamison:

And so it really is about being comfortable with being alone, looking out for your own authenticity, your own, you know, best self interest, your own spiritual transformation, and having the courage to move forward with that.

Allison Dubois:

Even a belief in oneself where you don't need other people to validate who you are or your importance or your.

Allison Dubois:

You're capable of, you know, doing the great things that you want to do.

Allison Dubois:

You don't need other people cheerleading you on in order to accomplish that.

Allison Dubois:

So the hermit cards really.

Allison Dubois:

Be secure in yourself.

Margaret Jamison:

Yes.

Allison Dubois:

Okay.

Margaret Jamison:

Self authenticity and alignment.

Margaret Jamison:

Because the real secret is to be in alignment with your purpose and the universe's path for you.

Margaret Jamison:

And that's what magic's all about.

Margaret Jamison:

It's aligning with that energy for your higher self.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Allison Dubois:

I find a lot of my clients right now, the whole year has been people wanting to know about career relationships.

Allison Dubois:

A lot of people having out relationships outside of marriages that I've been counseling and trying to find that balance where I'm like, you need to pull the trigger on this.

Allison Dubois:

It's time, you know, set them free.

Allison Dubois:

Let them find somebody that will love.

Margaret Jamison:

Them, you know, and do what you need to do.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, the other cards, nines are, it's interesting, the.

Margaret Jamison:

The wounded healer, I call it the nine of wands.

Margaret Jamison:

And that, that's all about stepping forward, but protecting yourself.

Margaret Jamison:

You notice he's protecting himself.

Margaret Jamison:

He's got the wands in the back, but he's fearlessly facing forward.

Margaret Jamison:

He's ready to move on.

Margaret Jamison:

He's ready to heal.

Allison Dubois:

So it's like healing old wounds.

Margaret Jamison:

Don't overthink it, you know, don't overthink it.

Margaret Jamison:

You know what to do in your gut, your intuitive wisdom, let the universe lead you forward.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, it's time to stop procrastinating.

Margaret Jamison:

It just ties your energy and knots.

Margaret Jamison:

And then the other one is this nine of pentacles, which, you know, she's alone, but you'll notice it's a very sensual card.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, she's happy.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

Indulging ourselves a little bit, not being afraid to enjoy.

Margaret Jamison:

There's nothing wrong with pleasure and enjoying the things that this life has to offer us.

Margaret Jamison:

And I think self care is going to be important for us this year as we go through all of this.

Margaret Jamison:

And then this speaks to what you and I see in our readings a lot with clients.

Margaret Jamison:

The nine of Cups, you Know what gets great about who you want in your life?

Margaret Jamison:

Who are you inviting into that feast?

Margaret Jamison:

You have all that to offer.

Margaret Jamison:

All those cups are emotions, all the good things in your life.

Margaret Jamison:

You have so much to offer, but you're the host.

Margaret Jamison:

You decide who you invite in and who doesn't belong.

Allison Dubois:

I like.

Margaret Jamison:

And so I.

Margaret Jamison:

The nine cards are always challenging in a reading, and this being a nine year, you know, but I think even when we give people a reading, there's a certain amount of denial sometimes about moving forward.

Margaret Jamison:

There's a lot of.

Allison Dubois:

I was happy to do.

Allison Dubois:

Was happy to do a reading yesterday and I.

Allison Dubois:

I got the first name of the boyfriend and was pulling impressions and writing the impressions.

Allison Dubois:

I was getting connected to him.

Allison Dubois:

And it was one of those times where I'm like, he wants to buy a house, he wants to settle down.

Allison Dubois:

He's looking at marriage.

Allison Dubois:

And she was like, you know?

Allison Dubois:

And it just felt good to be able to tell somebody that, because I've been dealing with this whole year of people leaving relationships, friends being seen for who they truly are and not really being friends at all and then leaving.

Allison Dubois:

I just want people out there knowing that if they feel like the bottom, the floors dropped out from under them.

Allison Dubois:

This is the energy right now.

Allison Dubois:

The universe tried to give us hints over the years that certain things didn't serve us.

Allison Dubois:

And for the people who didn't act on it or didn't intuitive pick up on that energy, they're being forced out of the situation that they're in by the universe.

Allison Dubois:

And when you're forced, it feels a little bit more unsettling, but it's okay.

Allison Dubois:

But recognize it and don't see it as another challenge or fight where you need to fight against the universe, because that doesn't usually work out well for.

Margaret Jamison:

People, especially this year.

Margaret Jamison:

This year, really, this is a year to ground yourself and to go with that flow.

Margaret Jamison:

What the universe has in mind for you is so much better than what you're clinging to.

Margaret Jamison:

But I think you're right.

Margaret Jamison:

Especially in relationships, people do want to cling, right?

Allison Dubois:

Right.

Allison Dubois:

Well, they're afraid of being alone.

Allison Dubois:

People are more afraid of being alone than most anything else I ever see.

Allison Dubois:

It's the having to look at themselves in the mirror and not have a distraction of being able to focus on that other person and trying to fix their life or focus on them, but you're forced to focus on yourself.

Allison Dubois:

And I think that's why people are afraid to be alone.

Allison Dubois:

You should never be afraid to be alone.

Allison Dubois:

You make your friends your Family, maybe you get a cool pet that, you know, you get to enjoy their company, redecorate your home, get a new job, write a book, do something that is coming from within you and let the energy flow back into you rather than you giving it out to everyone else around you.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, agreed, agreed.

Margaret Jamison:

And I think that process of transformation, when you open up to it, the universe really need you.

Margaret Jamison:

l be very valuable going into:

Margaret Jamison:

Sometimes we need to go deep.

Margaret Jamison:

And so one of the things I have in the shop this year is, I just got in, are some shadow work journals.

Margaret Jamison:

I've been waiting.

Margaret Jamison:

People have been asking for them, and I waited until I found some that I really liked.

Margaret Jamison:

And so I have those.

Margaret Jamison:

think if you're feeling like:

Margaret Jamison:

You know, looking at things in your past, what might be holding you back.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, exploring those things and doing a lot of meditation.

Allison Dubois:

So those books walk people through the steps of what you need to do to let go of sort of the gray areas in your life.

Allison Dubois:

Is that right?

Margaret Jamison:

I'm sorry, you went out on me for just a minute.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Allison Dubois:

It's been going in and out the entire time we've been recording, so I guess repeat.

Allison Dubois:

So the book that you speak of on shadow work walks you through the steps of what it takes to remove the gray areas from your life.

Allison Dubois:

Things of the past, wounds tied to the past, old relationship and baggage.

Allison Dubois:

It walks you through it very much.

Margaret Jamison:

It walks you through it.

Margaret Jamison:

It has meditation exercises, spaces even to draw questions.

Margaret Jamison:

I looked through it and it's one of the best ones that I have found because it has different modalities to it.

Margaret Jamison:

But I think being open to really like you're saying, look at yourself.

Margaret Jamison:

We can only change ourselves.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

And once we.

Margaret Jamison:

In alignment with our authenticity and we can really answer what the universe has and is calling us to, we attract to us the right people.

Allison Dubois:

We attract to us like energy.

Allison Dubois:

So what you're putting out into the universe are the same energies you're going to receive back.

Allison Dubois:

So people need to understand that if you make zero effort to know people, you lack loyalty.

Allison Dubois:

You're not there for friends, for things that are important to them, but you expect them to be there when it's important to you.

Allison Dubois:

Then you're half a person, you're not functioning, and you're not going to draw in People who you want in your life because you're not actually being the kind of person you think you are or being the kind of person that you'd like to be.

Allison Dubois:

rse needs to be focused on in:

Allison Dubois:

And you'll draw in many gifts and people that are like energy, like the energy you want to be.

Allison Dubois:

So raise your vibration.

Margaret Jamison:

Exactly, exactly.

Margaret Jamison:

so I think we'll see a lot in:

Margaret Jamison:

And, you know, to be that authentic, even if, you know, I think of the.

Margaret Jamison:

I love this card, the courage of the wounded healer, in a sense.

Allison Dubois:

But if the person.

Allison Dubois:

So they'll be presented the opportunity to be courageous and to heal their wounds, but if they don't embrace that part of themselves, then they don't move forward.

Allison Dubois:

So I love that the cards are showing us what energy is there for us, where the focus should be.

Allison Dubois:

But people, we have to do the work ourselves.

Allison Dubois:

It's not going to fix it for you.

Allison Dubois:

We have to be a work in progress at all times.

Margaret Jamison:

Yeah, Very, very much.

Margaret Jamison:

And even the grounding, you know, the grounding tools, the crystals, you know, the hematite I find.

Allison Dubois:

Isn't obsidian like.

Allison Dubois:

Hematite, like that very black stone that grounds you.

Allison Dubois:

I.

Allison Dubois:

I like those.

Margaret Jamison:

You.

Margaret Jamison:

Obsidian actually is like a shield against negative energy.

Allison Dubois:

Well, see, I went right for obsidian.

Allison Dubois:

That's what.

Allison Dubois:

That's what I have.

Allison Dubois:

I wanted the shield.

Allison Dubois:

I wanted the full enchilada, like, and.

Margaret Jamison:

Then smokey quartz is really good for transitions.

Allison Dubois:

It's also good for spiritual protection, I found because I took a smoky quartz and I wore the ring into a nail salon, which I'm normally.

Allison Dubois:

It's kind of annoying to go to the salon now.

Allison Dubois:

You know, people have a toddler on their knee.

Allison Dubois:

It's like, it's a salon.

Allison Dubois:

Have your sister watch them.

Margaret Jamison:

It's not relaxing.

Allison Dubois:

It's not relaxing.

Allison Dubois:

And I wore this ring one day just to test it out.

Allison Dubois:

And it was the most peaceful experience I've ever had in a salon.

Allison Dubois:

So I will be continuing that obsessed.

Margaret Jamison:

Looking for is wonderful.

Allison Dubois:

Yes.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, and the surprising ones that give you, though, the confidence and the energy for this year.

Margaret Jamison:

Red Jasper for:

Margaret Jamison:

Like, one of my favorites, Tiger's eye.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, that it gives you that.

Margaret Jamison:

It's protective.

Margaret Jamison:

But it also confident success.

Margaret Jamison:

And then bloodstone, that vitality, that strength.

Margaret Jamison:

The crystals will help.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, the grounding baths will help.

Margaret Jamison:

The grounding oil will help.

Margaret Jamison:

But you're the one that has to be open to the energies.

Allison Dubois:

Right, Right.

Margaret Jamison:

And being able to move forward, they just calm you down a little bit and put you in a place where you can make those.

Allison Dubois:

They help you to adjust your energy forward.

Allison Dubois:

Mm, yeah.

Allison Dubois:

So happy to adjust their energy.

Allison Dubois:

They're wonderful.

Margaret Jamison:

I think it's gonna be a really interesting year for people.

Margaret Jamison:

I'm excited when I think of the snake and the wood snake, that imagery of shedding that skin, you know, and snakes are supposedly full of wisdom in Chinese culture.

Allison Dubois:

And venom.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah, yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

They are protective, you know, and I think there are times we need to protect ourselves and not feel guilty.

Margaret Jamison:

Especially this year, you know, say no when you need to say no.

Allison Dubois:

And I.

Allison Dubois:

I just want to say to people, the stones that you.

Allison Dubois:

The crystals that you just named are not expensive stones.

Allison Dubois:

They're not expensive crystals.

Allison Dubois:

If there's somebody you love that has a birthday coming up or just.

Allison Dubois:

It's a nice thing to do, get them one of these stones that will help them through these times and put it on a pendant.

Allison Dubois:

That's why I wear the redstone that I wear.

Allison Dubois:

It's supposed to open my heart up, and that helps me to process emotion and empathy.

Allison Dubois:

So it's such a great gift to give, especially to a Capricorn for those Capricorn birthdays, as we're in Capricorn season, because it's of the Earth, they would love it.

Allison Dubois:

So do you know, do you have a crystal site that you frequent or that you like and trust, or do you have them on your site?

Margaret Jamison:

Well, these crystals I have on my site.

Allison Dubois:

Great.

Margaret Jamison:

These are common.

Margaret Jamison:

There are a lot of crystal shops online also.

Margaret Jamison:

I prefer my shop.

Margaret Jamison:

And to go in person, I do think you need to be a little bit careful when you crystal shop.

Margaret Jamison:

I think going in person, you really feel the energy, and sometimes you just feel drawn to a particular crystal.

Margaret Jamison:

And if you ask about the meaning and the energy, suddenly you understand why, right?

Allison Dubois:

No, I totally agree.

Allison Dubois:

You could tell by the feeling of the.

Allison Dubois:

The crystal itself.

Allison Dubois:

So when people are setting intentions, what can young people do?

Allison Dubois:

Get getting ready for the brand new year?

Allison Dubois:

Because I.

Allison Dubois:

I believe in incorporating some of these methods with your children to shield them, to help them process energy, and to learn that at a young age so as they get older, they don't feel so cast out into the world and without protection, but rather they know the things that they can do to center themselves.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, you know, one of the things that I.

Margaret Jamison:

I've done with my grandchildren is setting intentions for the new year.

Margaret Jamison:

And we.

Margaret Jamison:

We do a little ritual and we focus.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, we light the candle, we meditate on the energy.

Margaret Jamison:

We kind of raise the energy in the candle from the flame.

Margaret Jamison:

And I have them write down what their intentions were for the new year.

Margaret Jamison:

And then we went outside and we planted what at the time was a little rosemary bush.

Margaret Jamison:

And then since then, we've planted little pine trees.

Margaret Jamison:

And usually it's some kind of an evergreen that's going to be hardy.

Margaret Jamison:

And then they love it, especially the rosemary, because it's right by my front door.

Margaret Jamison:

And so every time they come, they see that thing is like 5ft off the ground.

Margaret Jamison:

Now it's this enormous upright rosemary bush.

Allison Dubois:

Do you have any tips for us mediums that kill things?

Allison Dubois:

We don't mean to, but we have a black thumb.

Allison Dubois:

I've killed more rosemary bushes by my front door.

Allison Dubois:

What do we do?

Allison Dubois:

We have to become a friend with a hedge witch or something?

Allison Dubois:

Because I cannot keep any plant alive.

Margaret Jamison:

Rosemary is one of the easiest.

Margaret Jamison:

That's why I always recommend it.

Margaret Jamison:

But I think people over water rosemary, okay.

Margaret Jamison:

Because rosemary actually is a Mediterranean plant, and it grows best in sort of sandy soil.

Margaret Jamison:

It needs a lot of drainage.

Margaret Jamison:

And so that's one of the reasons it does well for me.

Allison Dubois:

So it's not good by our door.

Allison Dubois:

In a pot.

Margaret Jamison:

In a pot.

Margaret Jamison:

Dan over waters it.

Margaret Jamison:

I can't keep the log only in the ground.

Allison Dubois:

Okay.

Allison Dubois:

That makes me feel better.

Margaret Jamison:

He babies them.

Margaret Jamison:

He over waters them.

Margaret Jamison:

But that's, I think, rosemary.

Margaret Jamison:

The trick is it thrives on neglect.

Allison Dubois:

Oh, oh.

Margaret Jamison:

And so what right now?

Margaret Jamison:

And I'm going to do a little video on it, too.

Margaret Jamison:

Someone asked me to do it.

Margaret Jamison:

I'm rooting rosemary and I'm going to plant more because it just does so well here, and I use it.

Margaret Jamison:

Rosemary is a universal herb.

Margaret Jamison:

You can substitute it for any other herb in a working.

Margaret Jamison:

It's kind of amazing.

Margaret Jamison:

Its energy is such.

Margaret Jamison:

It can be protective.

Margaret Jamison:

It can bring in prosperity.

Margaret Jamison:

It can.

Margaret Jamison:

It's just this very vibrant energy.

Margaret Jamison:

And so they say it's a universal herb that substitutes for any other herb.

Allison Dubois:

Okay, that's good to know.

Margaret Jamison:

So that's why it's great.

Margaret Jamison:

You have to almost grow it like a cactus or a succulent.

Allison Dubois:

Well, I live in Arizona, so I know so.

Margaret Jamison:

But it might be so hot where you are.

Allison Dubois:

Well, I have it in the Shade by my front door.

Allison Dubois:

Because I know you're supposed to keep rosemary outside your front door for protection and to shield yourself from negative energies and dark energies.

Allison Dubois:

So I'm a big fan of rosemary and it tastes amazing.

Allison Dubois:

Obviously, during the holidays, if you incorporate it into your food and your cooking, can it work still in that same way?

Margaret Jamison:

Exactly.

Margaret Jamison:

That's kitchen witchery.

Margaret Jamison:

It's exactly the same.

Allison Dubois:

Okay.

Margaret Jamison:

But you know, things, planting the things in your yard.

Margaret Jamison:

I do have my rosemary.

Margaret Jamison:

And then a very wise woman told me, you need to have rue out there.

Margaret Jamison:

And she brought me cuttings of rue.

Margaret Jamison:

And root acts similarly.

Margaret Jamison:

And it's also.

Margaret Jamison:

It requires very little water.

Margaret Jamison:

And so I have rubbishes out there.

Margaret Jamison:

And then, of course, my.

Margaret Jamison:

My famous wormwood.

Margaret Jamison:

I can't live without my wormwood.

Margaret Jamison:

And my son was house sitting and he said, do you know when you water the front yard, your yard smells so good?

Margaret Jamison:

You know, he just loved.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, when you water, you get everything.

Margaret Jamison:

You can just smell it.

Margaret Jamison:

And it was interesting because a couple of my root died, and the lady who gave them to me, she said they took a hit for you.

Margaret Jamison:

Said they're so protective, they will die to absorb that negative energy.

Margaret Jamison:

some rooting right now since:

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

And putting more roux out front, she said, you need to replace your roux.

Margaret Jamison:

So I'm working on that.

Margaret Jamison:

I'm, you know, I'm rooting rue.

Allison Dubois:

Is that.

Allison Dubois:

Is that rue?

Margaret Jamison:

Rue.

Margaret Jamison:

And it's one of the most protective herbs.

Margaret Jamison:

It's very traditional.

Margaret Jamison:

When I met her, we were at a psychic fair and we were talking protection, and I kind of laughed and I reached in my pocket and I pulled out my rosemary that I had a sprig of fresh rosemary in my pocket.

Margaret Jamison:

And then she laughs in her pocket and pulled out some rue.

Margaret Jamison:

It was so funny.

Margaret Jamison:

Then I pulled out my necklace.

Margaret Jamison:

She pulled out her necklace.

Margaret Jamison:

We looked at each other, and it turns out we were born on the same day.

Allison Dubois:

Wow.

Allison Dubois:

Meant to be the same year.

Margaret Jamison:

And we have the same number of children, two boys and two girls.

Margaret Jamison:

It was just one of those kismet moments.

Margaret Jamison:

Right.

Allison Dubois:

Wow.

Margaret Jamison:

And she's from a different tradition.

Margaret Jamison:

A different tradition.

Margaret Jamison:

So she was teaching me what she knew and I was sharing with her what I knew.

Margaret Jamison:

So that's how I learned to use rue.

Margaret Jamison:

And rue is really potent.

Margaret Jamison:

You need to be careful if you work with rue because it does have a substance, you know, when you pick it and it's green and it can irritate your skin.

Allison Dubois:

So she's like, I'll see your rosemary and I'll raise you some roux.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh my God.

Margaret Jamison:

You know what?

Margaret Jamison:

Exactly.

Margaret Jamison:

She was so sweet.

Margaret Jamison:

She looked at my rosemary and it was like, because she came over, we did some work together and it was like, I don't know about that.

Allison Dubois:

You know, that's funny.

Margaret Jamison:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

The Hispanic tradition is very rich in California with the healers and then the much.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah, yeah.

Allison Dubois:

You have to be careful.

Allison Dubois:

You have to be careful of that though.

Allison Dubois:

They tread on the dark sometimes because they're like Afro Cuban roots in how they practice.

Margaret Jamison:

I, I, I do know that I, you know, but it's, it was an interest.

Margaret Jamison:

It's an interesting experience.

Margaret Jamison:

It is true.

Margaret Jamison:

She, she does tend more towards a kind of a controlling kind of a magic.

Allison Dubois:

Yes.

Margaret Jamison:

Or I what we do a little more voodoo.

Allison Dubois:

It's a little more voodoo and sometimes animal rituals are involved.

Allison Dubois:

So it's just like, it's a little.

Margaret Jamison:

Cow tongue and cow tongues run into money.

Allison Dubois:

I think I'm going to avoid the cow tongue just the same.

Margaret Jamison:

But I think what we do, rather than try to change other people, I think the beauty of our approach is we change ourselves and that's what we really can do.

Allison Dubois:

I was saying that more for the listeners.

Allison Dubois:

So they know if they go to somebody that practices more in Santeria, it's going to have a darker tone than say what you do.

Allison Dubois:

That's more of white light and, and more of herbology in that sense.

Allison Dubois:

And it's not that they don't believe in it, it's just they have all these other things that involve chickens and such that can be done.

Allison Dubois:

They're a little bit more into the curses, I'd say.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, I think though, there's a lot more and I think it's possible to over protect and over try to over control your surroundings.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah, no, I, I would agree with that.

Allison Dubois:

ill say for people going into:

Allison Dubois:

And I want you to say down the drain away from me three times and we'll pull the cord or the plug.

Allison Dubois:

And it will leave your presence and your space.

Allison Dubois:

And to show them how to do this so they feel like they have a little bit of power in their life and they don't feel so vulnerable that they do have a way to be able to get rid of things that bother them.

Allison Dubois:

So they don't keep it bottled up and hurt themselves.

Allison Dubois:

By collecting moments that injure their soul, they're able to send it away from them.

Allison Dubois:

So I just wanted to say that I don't think there's an age that's too young to do visualization techniques like that in letting go of things that bother you or hurt you.

Allison Dubois:

Do you have an opinion on age for doing an intention setting here?

Margaret Jamison:

I honestly think as young as 5 or 6 years old.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Allison Dubois:

It's.

Allison Dubois:

It.

Allison Dubois:

It gives.

Allison Dubois:

Go ahead.

Margaret Jamison:

I just wrote a crystal book for children that's on my site.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, and there's a book that you can download.

Margaret Jamison:

I think it's $3.

Margaret Jamison:

And then you can actually order it.

Margaret Jamison:

And it comes with the stones in the book.

Margaret Jamison:

And I like it because it's.

Margaret Jamison:

It doesn't just tell you about the stones.

Margaret Jamison:

It talks to them about how you can use crystals.

Margaret Jamison:

And then it has like rose quartz for making new friends.

Margaret Jamison:

And it tells them how to visualize and meditate and hold the stone.

Margaret Jamison:

And I'm trying to remember what other ones it has but.

Margaret Jamison:

And it does have something for protection in there too.

Allison Dubois:

Watch out for the animal lover children.

Allison Dubois:

They figure out what stone to hold and they're like I want a puppy.

Allison Dubois:

And like your house is full of pets.

Allison Dubois:

Because they set their intentions on animals the whole time.

Allison Dubois:

I love it.

Margaret Jamison:

Are the ones that attract all these cats.

Margaret Jamison:

But the book is really helpful.

Margaret Jamison:

I think I've gotten good feedback from people who have bought it.

Margaret Jamison:

I've sold a bunch of copies right before the holidays and then I've used it with my.

Margaret Jamison:

And then one of the ones I don't talk about much.

Margaret Jamison:

Little Layla up in the Bay Area and she just loves working with crystals and that she.

Margaret Jamison:

But she kept saying what do I do with them?

Margaret Jamison:

You know.

Margaret Jamison:

And so that book really got her started.

Margaret Jamison:

So I think if you're interested and someone in another country said, well, can you make it into an ebook so I can just download it?

Margaret Jamison:

But it's really nice if you order the book with the crystal set.

Margaret Jamison:

And then I always put a surprise crystal in there too.

Allison Dubois:

Oh, I love that.

Margaret Jamison:

Do with it.

Margaret Jamison:

When you order from my site whenever possible, if you buy a crystal or an herb, I try to send.

Margaret Jamison:

I now have informative papers to help.

Margaret Jamison:

You know, various ways to, to use that.

Allison Dubois:

I love that.

Allison Dubois:

That's great.

Margaret Jamison:

But children are just so open.

Allison Dubois:

So are you seeing.

Allison Dubois:

Can adults order your little crystal book?

Allison Dubois:

Will it help us to learn about crystals as well?

Margaret Jamison:

Yes, it will.

Margaret Jamison:

My.

Margaret Jamison:

My son's wife, the heart, she said, I need this too, you know, because she's just getting interested through me and through the children.

Margaret Jamison:

And it's, it's helpful for everybody because you, you not only get the stones, but it, it really has.

Margaret Jamison:

I call them in their little spells.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

That you can use.

Margaret Jamison:

And they're very simple.

Margaret Jamison:

And like you said, I try to offer crystals that aren't expensive.

Margaret Jamison:

They're fairly common.

Margaret Jamison:

If a crystal is expensive, that doesn't mean that it has more energy or special powers.

Allison Dubois:

Right.

Margaret Jamison:

which I do not recommend for:

Allison Dubois:

What does Moldavite do?

Margaret Jamison:

Moldavite moves all the blocks out of your way.

Margaret Jamison:

Moldavite bulldozes you through.

Margaret Jamison:

In fact, for some reason, maybe because I'm in Aries, I'm a little addicted to Moldavite.

Margaret Jamison:

Other people find it's too much energy for them and it's kind of humorous.

Margaret Jamison:

And they say I can't even wear it before bedtime.

Margaret Jamison:

And I'm thinking, geez, I can sleep with Moldavite on.

Margaret Jamison:

Moldavite necklace and a couple of rings on.

Margaret Jamison:

But Moldavite really blows through those blockages.

Margaret Jamison:

It's a very high vibration because Moldavite is an asteroid or a meteorite that crashed in Czechoslovakia.

Margaret Jamison:

And it's actually not a crystal.

Margaret Jamison:

It's called a techie.

Margaret Jamison:

It's like glass, and it formed this molten glass.

Margaret Jamison:

And so it's got this very high vibrational energy to it.

Allison Dubois:

Do you have jewelry on your website or do you just have the crystals?

Margaret Jamison:

I have a lot of jewelry on my website.

Margaret Jamison:

Most people like working with crystals in the form of jewelry.

Margaret Jamison:

And like you're saying it as a gift.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, and yeah, and I, I.

Margaret Jamison:

And I love the bracelets because they're up against your skin, the stone up against your actual skin.

Margaret Jamison:

But yeah, and a lot of the spells, I actually have listed some too, where you can attach attentions to a crystal, you know, set your intention, create a talisman to draw something towards you.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

And I actually put little spells up.

Margaret Jamison:

If somebody wants that, I can tell them how to do that as well.

Allison Dubois:

Don't you have like a car protection spell in crystal or something on your website?

Allison Dubois:

I think that's so cool.

Margaret Jamison:

I hear the girl.

Margaret Jamison:

I.

Margaret Jamison:

I hear your girls have them.

Allison Dubois:

Yes.

Allison Dubois:

You sent them for the girls.

Allison Dubois:

Either you sent them or I bought them.

Allison Dubois:

I don't know which because it was a while ago.

Margaret Jamison:

Said she had one in her car.

Allison Dubois:

Yes, and for their protection and God knows Aurora needs it.

Margaret Jamison:

So what was the we should say other one.

Allison Dubois:

I know, yeah.

Allison Dubois:

She would need a car made out of whatever stone that is.

Allison Dubois:

She learned to drive in LA and it's not good.

Allison Dubois:

Oh my.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, she could be a good driver then.

Margaret Jamison:

She's had the practice.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Allison Dubois:

I'll tell you that story another time as to why she's such a terrible driver.

Allison Dubois:

Be careful of which instructor you hire to teach your child to drive.

Margaret Jamison:

Well, you know what, those things are popular sometimes people don't want to buy all the different herbs and mix them.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah, you send them off to your kid like with your kid when they go to college.

Allison Dubois:

You can get the little car set.

Margaret Jamison:

e going to be blockbuster for:

Margaret Jamison:

And they use dragon's blood and I include the dragon's blood little incense stick with it.

Margaret Jamison:

I didn't.

Margaret Jamison:

I have.

Margaret Jamison:

I'll put those up on my site.

Margaret Jamison:

I put them, sent them out in people who Christmas stockings this year.

Margaret Jamison:

Those were in their Christmas stockings that I made this year for what a fabulous stocking.

Allison Dubois:

I love that.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh my gosh.

Margaret Jamison:

Some of our dead university students ordered those stockings.

Allison Dubois:

Good, good.

Allison Dubois:

That's fantastic.

Margaret Jamison:

Now I'll put those spell kits up separately on the site and so if people are interested, those spell kits with the dragon's blood, those would be excellent too for setting intentions and you know, children really enjoy lighting just, just, just.

Allison Dubois:

For, for the new, for the new viewers and listeners.

Allison Dubois:

Dragon's blood is like sage on steroids for, for cleansing bad energy, negative energy.

Allison Dubois:

Go ahead.

Margaret Jamison:

So transformative.

Margaret Jamison:

It is just so transformative.

Margaret Jamison:

But children like lighting things as part of what they do.

Allison Dubois:

Uh huh.

Margaret Jamison:

And so those would even be good for a child.

Allison Dubois:

So for people in this nine year, which is a year of endings, I would say after the person moves out or just moves out of your life, smudge your house, sage it and then burn sweet grass.

Allison Dubois:

You know, set your intentions.

Allison Dubois:

That's you've got to clear the old energy out of your environment, out of your space and get them, get it out the Door.

Allison Dubois:

And isn't there an Irish ritual where you leave the front door and the back door open so the bad energy can move out and the new energy can enter?

Margaret Jamison:

Yes.

Margaret Jamison:

There's a variety of different traditions with doors and windows.

Margaret Jamison:

Yeah, you know, I don't do that, you know, because I.

Margaret Jamison:

I think the energy travels, but it symbolically.

Allison Dubois:

Oh, so you're sending it to your neighbor.

Allison Dubois:

So you're.

Margaret Jamison:

You open the door and the window.

Margaret Jamison:

All of it is embodying in action.

Margaret Jamison:

Because I think people want to do energy work just in their heads, you know, and say it loud, say it proud.

Allison Dubois:

Get out of your head.

Allison Dubois:

Put it out.

Margaret Jamison:

Thank you.

Margaret Jamison:

And someone.

Margaret Jamison:

Someone was demeaning what they called folk magic.

Margaret Jamison:

This published author, and it was really interesting because I thought, she's making energy work.

Margaret Jamison:

So intellectualized.

Margaret Jamison:

And the truth is we have this bounty of crystals and herbs and all these energies around us.

Margaret Jamison:

We're children of the earth.

Margaret Jamison:

And by actually taking action and embodying that intention makes it that much more powerful.

Allison Dubois:

And does she really want to piss off a bunch of witches?

Allison Dubois:

I mean, that's kind of dumb.

Allison Dubois:

I'm just saying.

Margaret Jamison:

I was just like, you know, each their own.

Margaret Jamison:

To each their own.

Margaret Jamison:

I.

Margaret Jamison:

I kind of got what she was saying.

Margaret Jamison:

I think there's a belief, like with bay leaves, a lot of people for 20, 25 or a new year will write what they want to manifest on a bay leaf, and they will simply burn the bay leaf and, you know, doing it without setting and visualizing a real intention.

Allison Dubois:

Right.

Margaret Jamison:

Which is nothing.

Margaret Jamison:

And.

Margaret Jamison:

And it's true.

Margaret Jamison:

I got what she was saying.

Margaret Jamison:

People come to me all the time.

Margaret Jamison:

I burned a bay leaf.

Margaret Jamison:

I asked for a million dollars.

Margaret Jamison:

I didn't get it.

Allison Dubois:

The amount of people that want to set intentions for.

Allison Dubois:

To win the lottery, it's like, just stop.

Allison Dubois:

Just stop.

Allison Dubois:

You're supposed to have a vision that you put energy in to create something in this new in that's new in the world.

Allison Dubois:

And these properties will help you manifest those intentions that you set in your vision.

Allison Dubois:

Your new business or, you know, the home that you want to attract or love into your life or friendships into your life.

Allison Dubois:

Things that are.

Allison Dubois:

That you can put energy in and be a.

Allison Dubois:

In the pro.

Allison Dubois:

Part of the process.

Allison Dubois:

Not lottery.

Allison Dubois:

I put that on my website for my money potion.

Allison Dubois:

I'm like, this will not work for you.

Allison Dubois:

For the lottery specifically, I'm like, that's a game of chance.

Allison Dubois:

There's no energy to connect to.

Allison Dubois:

It's not the same as setting an intention to something that you're putting your energy into to give it life.

Allison Dubois:

It's just not the same.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, I love what you said.

Margaret Jamison:

There's nothing for your energy to attach to in this, and that's one of the big reasons we take the actions.

Allison Dubois:

Right, Exactly.

Allison Dubois:

So I.

Margaret Jamison:

With that energy of prosperity and abundance as we drink your.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, my gosh, your delicious vodka.

Allison Dubois:

So good.

Allison Dubois:

People can't even imagine a vodka being a tasting vodka, but this is a tasting vodka.

Allison Dubois:

When you come out, we'll have to get.

Allison Dubois:

Hook you up with a bottle of Divination 22 to drive back with you.

Allison Dubois:

For sure.

Margaret Jamison:

I got a little taste of it at Sedona summer camp, and we can't order it, unfortunately, you were the first.

Allison Dubois:

People to try it.

Allison Dubois:

Well, unfortunately, the big companies have a monopoly on the online ordering, so we can't sell it that way.

Allison Dubois:

They keep control of that.

Allison Dubois:

I've learned so much about the liquor industry.

Allison Dubois:

It's.

Allison Dubois:

It's at One Handsome Bastard in Old Town Scottsdale, which is my distillery, but it's also a restaurant bar run by Trish and her daughter Bren.

Allison Dubois:

So I was attracted to that place by the name of it and the energy of it.

Allison Dubois:

And then it just turned out that a mom and her daughter run it and do the distilling, which I loved.

Allison Dubois:

And so they've got all my big crystals in the room around the vats of vodka as they sort of marinate with the herbs and the properties that I put in them, the ingredients, and.

Allison Dubois:

And so they sit with the crystals.

Allison Dubois:

It amplifies them.

Allison Dubois:

And then I bless it, and then it's bottled and sent.

Allison Dubois:

Sent out to the bars.

Allison Dubois:

So that's kind of where we're at right now.

Allison Dubois:

It's very exciting, though.

Margaret Jamison:

Anything like it before, I'm the first.

Allison Dubois:

I'm pretty excited about it.

Allison Dubois:

Thank you.

Margaret Jamison:

It's worth.

Margaret Jamison:

Arizona people.

Allison Dubois:

Yes, I know.

Allison Dubois:

They're so lucky.

Allison Dubois:

It's right here, and they've been buying a lot of it.

Allison Dubois:

So it's a lot of.

Allison Dubois:

A lot of people popping into one handsome bastard.

Allison Dubois:

But I've got the money potion and I have the love potion, and I'm working on the resurrection potion, but the FDA doesn't approve things like chrysanthemums.

Allison Dubois:

And I'm like, okay, I can have chrysanthemum tea, but not chrysanthemum that's dried.

Allison Dubois:

So I don't get it that.

Margaret Jamison:

I don't understand that.

Allison Dubois:

I don't either.

Allison Dubois:

So it's.

Allison Dubois:

It's.

Allison Dubois:

I'm struggling with the resurrection Vodka to Help thin the veil so you can communicate with your deceased loved ones.

Allison Dubois:

But that'll be the third one, but I got the first two out.

Allison Dubois:

very, very proud of that very:

Allison Dubois:

Of manifesting my vision.

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, that's wonderful.

Margaret Jamison:

Wonderful.

Margaret Jamison:

I'm so happy, though, that available.

Margaret Jamison:

I can't wait to get bottle or my own bottle.

Allison Dubois:

I had to share.

Margaret Jamison:

Like, there was two bottles, and I think we all shared just a little taste.

Allison Dubois:

You guys were my.

Allison Dubois:

My little guinea pigs that night, and I just needed your feedback.

Allison Dubois:

So you were my focus group to see how the flavor would be received, and I really appreciated that.

Allison Dubois:

So you and my.

Margaret Jamison:

Bottles, though, right?

Allison Dubois:

I know you guys had a real good time.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah, that was fun.

Allison Dubois:

So where can people find more information about you, your or book an appointment for a tarot reading with you?

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, that would be great.

Margaret Jamison:

Moving into:

Allison Dubois:

Yes, I think so, too.

Allison Dubois:

And you also can help them with intention.

Allison Dubois:

Intention setting, or even spells.

Allison Dubois:

I had a friend that went to you for a spell for a co worker, and that co worker left permanently the next day from the company.

Allison Dubois:

So you definitely know what you're doing.

Allison Dubois:

And my friend was thrilled.

Margaret Jamison:

Out light.

Margaret Jamison:

We're just beaming out light.

Allison Dubois:

So if people might need you to help them to set their intentions, they can go to grannymagic.com to.

Allison Dubois:

To get a hold of you and.

Allison Dubois:

Or they can find you at Instagram at Granny Magic.

Allison Dubois:

Margaret Jamison.

Margaret Jamison:

Yes.

Allison Dubois:

Okay, so.

Allison Dubois:

And I follow you and look for the blue check.

Margaret Jamison:

I.

Margaret Jamison:

I now have a blue check because it was so confusing for people.

Allison Dubois:

Yes, me too, Actually, on principle, I wouldn't buy it because I'm like, I've written six books.

Allison Dubois:

I have a television show.

Allison Dubois:

You guys are bs.

Allison Dubois:

Like, it was so ridiculous.

Allison Dubois:

And then I was sitting in my office one day and I got a ding on my phone, and it said, you know, basically, you've been approved and you're verified.

Allison Dubois:

And I went, Sophia.

Allison Dubois:

Like that.

Allison Dubois:

And she was like, yeah, Mom.

Allison Dubois:

I was like, did you pay to verify me?

Allison Dubois:

And she said, yeah.

Allison Dubois:

She's like, please don't kill me.

Allison Dubois:

I was.

Allison Dubois:

She's like, people just were having trouble.

Margaret Jamison:

Everybody in North America, I think, yeah.

Allison Dubois:

And now everybody has to pay for the blue check mark, even if you were verified beforehand.

Allison Dubois:

I haven't had that on my Facebook fan page, though.

Allison Dubois:

I'm verified on it, but I.

Allison Dubois:

I don't have to pay for it there or on Twitter, which is now X.

Allison Dubois:

I think maybe I do on X.

Allison Dubois:

Do I have I'll have to look into that.

Allison Dubois:

I don't go on there that much.

Allison Dubois:

I didn't go.

Allison Dubois:

I didn't go on there much when it was Twitter.

Allison Dubois:

It's just so hard to juggle all the social media sites.

Margaret Jamison:

I just do Facebook and Insta, and for me, that's all I can handle.

Allison Dubois:

Isn't it funny how different the tone is between people on Facebook and people on Instagram?

Margaret Jamison:

Oh, my gosh.

Allison Dubois:

It's night and day, isn't it?

Allison Dubois:

Like, the people.

Allison Dubois:

People on Instagram are a little bit more bubbly and lively and on Facebook, a little bit more.

Allison Dubois:

More negative Nelly about things.

Allison Dubois:

And I'm just like.

Allison Dubois:

I'm like.

Allison Dubois:

It's just a post.

Margaret Jamison:

Okay, well, a subscribers group on Instagram and I have a subscribers group now on Facebook.

Margaret Jamison:

Those groups are like night and day.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah, I bet they are.

Margaret Jamison:

I mean, it's fascinating.

Margaret Jamison:

And then someone left one group to go to the Instagram group.

Allison Dubois:

I'm sure.

Allison Dubois:

No, I get it.

Allison Dubois:

I totally get that.

Allison Dubois:

So, so do you.

Allison Dubois:

Do you share tips with them when they subscribe to you for that you.

Allison Dubois:

You interact?

Margaret Jamison:

We do.

Margaret Jamison:

We.

Margaret Jamison:

We have a live chat channel where we all communicate with each other similar to the dead university students.

Margaret Jamison:

And then we have.

Margaret Jamison:

I do special videos for them and give them different kinds of feedback.

Margaret Jamison:

And then every month they get some kind of a feedback freebie or a major discount from my shop.

Allison Dubois:

I love that.

Allison Dubois:

I love that.

Allison Dubois:

So go to Instagram and subscribe.

Margaret Jamison:

And it's $5 a month.

Allison Dubois:

That's great.

Margaret Jamison:

Some of the dead university students are on there.

Margaret Jamison:

Other people as well.

Margaret Jamison:

So it's a lively little group.

Allison Dubois:

My students love you players.

Margaret Jamison:

Right now.

Margaret Jamison:

Developing the Claires.

Margaret Jamison:

What are the different Claires?

Allison Dubois:

Okay.

Margaret Jamison:

Getting people excited about that.

Allison Dubois:

Good.

Margaret Jamison:

I do rituals for them where if sometimes it gives people a little more confidence to see someone actually perform a ritual.

Allison Dubois:

Yes.

Allison Dubois:

Yeah.

Margaret Jamison:

And then some actually watch it and perform along with me, you know, because then they feel they've got somebody there.

Margaret Jamison:

And we're working our way up to possibly doing some live moon rituals together.

Allison Dubois:

Cool.

Allison Dubois:

I love that idea.

Allison Dubois:

We've got the new moon in Capricorn coming up.

Margaret Jamison:

My little coven.

Margaret Jamison:

I have my little coven on Instagram.

Margaret Jamison:

My little subscriber.

Allison Dubois:

I love that.

Allison Dubois:

Well, they're lucky to have you.
