Shownotes
The name Audax is derived from "audacious", because the distances covered are just that, seriously audacious. In the 1890s when the idea first started, 200km was considered audacious, not any more! Riding an audax in the Scottish Highlands however takes the concept of an audacious ride to a whole new level.
As riders prepare to face the North Coast Classic 600 in unseasonably scorching temperatures for the Scottish Highlands, series organiser Andy Uttley from Highland Audax shares the story of how the Highland Audax Series was realised, an utterly audacious set of rides in this northernmost wilderness of breath-taking scenery, glens, bens, lochs, heather and bogs. It’s all about embracing the dreich and celebrating the brawe!
