  • Quiet your mind and see how the ball is spinning in front of you.
  • Forget all external pressures that you have little to no control over. Do not think about the scoreboard or your opponent.
  • Observe the spin, to gain control over things that you can control in the court.

Carver also stresses over staying focused and tough on the court.

Hi, I'm Rob Carver, author of the book, "366 Days of Tennis," a tip of data improve your game.

Speaker:

And today I got a great tip for you to help you when you're losing a match.

Speaker:

This is something I share with the player just the other day when she and her partner were losing.

Speaker:

I told her, take your eyes off the scoreboard and keep your focus on the spin of the ball.

Speaker:

And she said, what do you mean spin of the ball?

Speaker:

I told her, I said, watch the spin coming in.

Speaker:

When that ball is coming towards you, I want you literally try to see the spin on the ball.

Speaker:

When you focus on the spin of the ball, you're forgetting about the score,

Speaker:

your opponents, and all these other external factors that you can't control.

Speaker:

You quiet your mind and focus on seeing the ball.

Speaker:

Try it next time and see if you can turn your losing game into a winning game.

Speaker:
