It is not Christmas.

It is July.

Actually, it's July 6th.

Today makes one whole year of

recording a podcast and posting every

7

Monday, possibly just a handful of,

um, weeks that I was not able to

8

post or decided to take a break.

9

But today is a very special

episode because today it is one

10

full year, July 6th, that I began

this podcast, I Can't, He Can.

11

And, um, before I continue to explain

the Christmas tree behind me, um,

12

a lot of things change as we will

be discussing in this episode.

13

Um, a lot of things change and for the

better and I guess, um, bringing even

14

more joy into our home and our life.

15

My husband kind of riled up the kids

saying that Christmas was this past

16

Saturday, and it-- I think it has been

going on for like two, three weeks now.

17

So much so that Ella, who's five, um,

kept saying, "Mommy, Christmas is gonna

18

be on Saturday and Christmas is coming.

19

Christmas."

20

So I was like, "You know what?

21

Why not?

22

Why not just put up a Christmas

tree and go along with it?"

23

And there were no gifts under the tree.

24

But, um, the kids putting up the

tree and then having David come

25

home and seeing that we actually put

it up was just-- it was very nice.

26

It w- there-- I felt the kids

got along for the longest

27

period of time in, in a while.

28

They fight a lot.

29

Um, but it was just nice.

It was a nice night to share together.

Um, and yeah, we're literally going

to have Christmas for six months.

32

But anyway, I digress with that.

Again, going back to what I was saying,

today is a very special episode.

One year, and I really can't believe it.

Um, I am actually

recording and posting this.

Um, usually I have things planned out

or like for the Sound Mind series,

which today would have been, um, the

continuation of the Book of Revelation.

However, because it is a very important

episode, I had to stop and I didn't

39

wanna just do the Sound Mind series,

um, and continuing in that book.

So- I honestly like thought about it

for months, probably since January.

41

I had even spoken to some of the girls

from our Soundmind Bible study, and I

42

had so many ideas that I wanted to put

into this one episode and nothing stuck.

Like, we talked about it.

44

We said, "All right, let's record

little clips and put it together

45

of, you know, your lives."

46

And, um, we had a, a, a Bible

study, and then we forgot, and

47

it just-- it, it didn't pan out.

48

And then for the past two or three

weeks, I had been thinking, "I

49

don't wanna just do the Soundmind.

50

I wanna do something different.

51

I wanna do something special," but I

couldn't really put anything together.

Like, nothing came to mind.

And then today, I just sat at my computer.

Well, what is my computer?

55

But David will say that it, it's his

laptop, but what's yours is mine, honey.

Um, if he sees this, he's probably

gonna be rolling his eyes.

But, um, anyway, I sat in front of the,

the laptop, and I just-- I started.

I started, and I took a br- like

an hour break maybe or a two-hour

59

break to make dinner for the kids.

Um, but pretty much since the time I got

back from church to just about now, um,

61

I sat back down, and I was just going

through pretty much all of the videos

62

from July 6 of last year when I first

started posting, and I just took some

63

snippets of, I think, the episodes, not

that meant most to me, but that I felt

64

kind of showed what the Lord has done,

not only in the podcast, but in my life.

Um, and I just kind of compiled these

together, and I was even messing around

66

with this system that I use to record,

and I was-- I will be doing screen shares

67

so that if you guys do wanna go back to

any of the, of those episodes, you can.

I mean, you can find them easily.

And you'll notice a few new things,

as you probably already heard, the

new introduction, um, song that that

I selected, something a little softer.

I feel like it kind of

spoke to me a little more.

Um, but, you know, just

To kind of continue with the point

of this episode, um, the last thing

that I will say is that people change.

Um, especially when you're walking

with the Lord, He transforms hearts,

minds, um, even physical appearances.

Um, some people may call it a glow up.

I don't know, something silly like that.

But you really do receive

that glow up from the inside.

And I, in my humble opinion, believe that

I have gotten a little bit, just a

smidge closer to having that inner glow

up, and it's still a work in progress.

As I always say, I'm not perfect.

No one is perfect, only our

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

But, um, nonetheless, I think this episode

will show the, um, progression of how we

started, why we started, um, things that

happened in the middle, and then all the

way to now that brings me so much joy.

Ooh, and things in life where we even have

a Christmas tree in our house, and it's

really spectacular to see all of these,

um, clips of some audio, 'cause remember

it was only audio, and then building up

the courage to do video at one point.

Um, so I'm really happy.

I'm really grateful to the Lord that

He continued to minister to me and to

speak to me, um, and just put it in

my heart and give me the strength to

continue, to give me the discipline.

Um, 'cause believe me, sometimes I did

not wanna sit here and do this, but now

it's just become how David has taught me.

It is a get to.

I get to do this.

Um, that's kind of the mindset that I

have, and I didn't have that before.

Like I said, a lot of things have

changed in my life, him being one

of the new most improved changes.

Um, but for the most part, I can

say that the work and the change and

everything in my life from beginning to

now and into the future, um, it's all

the Lord, and it's all His doing, His

plan, and most importantly, His will.

the name came from, and it sounds a

little weird when I talk just listening

back to myself at the very first one.

So, you know, if it sounds a

Um, it's just very odd, but here we go

And just in case, if it's not obvious,

the title of the podcast is I Can't.

Like I am over life, I'm

over this problem, I'm over

everything, I just can't anymore.

That's kind of where the idea came from.

Um, I know that I say that personally

at least five times a day, whether

it's my children, whether it's at

work, or just driving in Miami.

I really deal with a lot of things that

just kinda get to me and annoy me, and

literally make me say, "I can't, I can't."

Um, but the He Can part of it is related

to Jesus, and everything that we talk

138

about may relate to you in some way,

whether it's relationships, children,

139

work, marriage, divorce, dating,

addictions, trauma, um, many, many things

140

that we're gonna talk about, honestly.

But the He Can part of the title of my

podcast is related to Jesus, because

142

at the end of the day, even though

we say, "I can't," the real answer to

143

all of our problems in life is Jesus.

So He can solve everything

for us if we have faith.

Yes, indeed.

If we have faith, our Lord and Savior

can and will solve everything for us

in His time, which is something that I

learned, um, much further down the road.

I wanted to also share this next

clip of episode one as well, But

the first scripture that I wanna go

says, "No temptation has overtaken

you except what is common to mankind.

And God is faithful; he will not let

you be tempted beyond what you can bear.

But when you are tempted, he

will also provide a way out

so that you can endure it."

So as I was gonna say in this episode,

um, as you can see from the title,

Food Addiction, it was a l- about a

lot of different things, but the main

point was something very personal

that I s- not still struggle with,

but did very, very much struggle

with, um, for a very, very long time.

Um, I don't feel that I'm at that same

place, praise the Lord, but, um, at that

time, that scripture, 1 Corinthians 10,

uh, verse 13, really spoke to me about

that situation and about what I was

going through at that time with food.

Um, so just from the get-go,

it's just a whole different

vibe that I had going on there.

But I wanted to show that because, you

know, that was true for me a year ago, and

165

still, um, these things can be true today,

not as much, but it's interesting to see

how things have changed in just one year.

So anyway, um, I am going to skip over to

our next clip, which is from Christianity

is Hard, and that is episode three.

But it's still hard.

It's still so hard.

Every day it's a fight, every day it's

a fight, and it's going to continue

to be a fight, and we are going to

continue to deal with these things.

So we just need to always

go back to the beginning.

We need to pray, we need to

stay in our Word, and we need

to just continue to seek Jesus.

Kind of like what I was saying about

episode one, even from that episode

to today, this is also still so true.

Everything about our walk with

Christ is difficult, and the

more we grow our relationship,

the harder it's going to get.

Um, I know I've talked about it in

other episodes, but the spiritual

warfare truly is just incredible, and

your eyes, your spiritual eyes actually

begin to widen and, and to open, and you

become sensitive to things like that.

So it doesn't get any easier.

Um, but what does get easier is how

much more you can endure because

you understand that you're not alone

and that you're not doing it alone.

So there definitely is,

peace, peace in knowing that.

to know, excuse me, that there is peace.

Um, despite the tumultuous times, things

that happen as you start reading more

and again, as you start growing that

relationship, there is peace nonetheless.

So a little fun fact, I always

told her, before I even actually

started the podcast, I was like,

"We should start a podcast together.

We should do a podcast,

like, let's do this."

And then finally when I just randomly

from one day to the other, talk about

obedience, just found a program,

found the editing equipment stuff,

all of, you know, the works, and

I started doing the podcast, then

we finally did a podcast together.

So this was the first episode that

her and I did, and I just wanted to

say thank you to her because of her.

Because of her and my son are the

reasons I started going to church.

And had I not, we wouldn't be here.

Um, so I know the Lord led me to

her, and He led her to me, so I

obviously, you know, it's not just her.

It's the Lord working through us,

um, and why we are at this point.

But nonetheless, I value and I see that

because of her, I am here, and you guys

are watching, and all this is happening.

It's a little bit of a lengthy one.

What brought us together?

Yes, what brought us together?

Well, I do believe that

God did bring us together.

Yep.

I feel that obviously he put us in

each other's paths for a reason.

I also feel that your illness, your

multiple sclerosis also brought us

222

together because at the time, you know,

um, well, my husband, ex-husband, I

223

don't know what you wanna call him-

Soon to be ex … soon to be ex-husband,

unfortunately, was diagnosed with

multiple sclerosis, and he was struggling

225

with that illness, and I didn't have

a good understanding of what it was

226

to, I guess, live with somebody with

that disease or live with somebody

227

who was struggling with multiple

sclerosis, and I feel like God put me

228

in your life, or he put you in my life.

229

Mm.

And, um, I remember our kids being in

the dojo, in the karate school together.

Mm-hmm.

232

And when I was having a conversation with

one of the employees at the dojo, I told

233

her about the struggles that my husband

was going through with multiple sclerosis.

234

She told me, "Oh, I know another mom

here who also has multiple sclerosis."

235

And I was like, "Who?"

236

She's like, "Eli's mom, Sarai."

237

And I was like, "What?"

And she … I'm like, "Who is that?"

And then she shows me a picture.

When I saw that picture, I was

like, "Oh, I know who she is.

241

I've seen her before."

So I think one day I see you

walking in the parking lot, and you

243

just- I feel like it was yesterday

244

and you just looked so exhausted.

You ambushed me.

Yeah, I did.

I did.

I almost, like, tackled her.

Like, I was like- It was a nice ambush.

It really was.

Yeah.

It was, it was a pleasant one.

It was.

I- as I saw her walking out of

the dojo, I went up to her and

I was like, "Hey, are you Sarai?

You're Eli's mom, right?

You have multiple sclerosis, right?"

Yeah.

And I was, like, so excited.

Literally was just like that.

I introduced myself and said, "Hey,

I'm Jacob's mom, and my husband

262

also has multiple sclerosis."

Honestly, at the time though, like,

I didn't really get to talk about it

264

a lot unless it was on social media.

But, like, face-to-face with

people, I didn't really have

266

anyone to talk to about that.

So it was, it was weird.

Like, it was a weird, like, meet,

but it was also nice to have

269

something in common with someone

else and be like, "Oh my God, yes."

Like, "Yes, I understand that 100%."

So that was, was very hot

that day, I remember, too.

I was, like, dying.

I remember that, too, and I think

we were talking for a while, too.

I don't know if I was in the car.

Was I getting out of the

car or I was in the car?

I know that there was a few times where

I was in the car, and, like, I would

stop you- Because it was over 100,

I was like, oh my God, I was dying.

It was okay.

And I just felt like I had so many

questions, and I really wanted to, like,

get a good perspective because I was

trying to understand my husband at the

281

time, but he didn't have a good way of,

like, expressing himself, and I didn't

282

really know what his struggles were- Yeah

what he was going through.

And I understand that everybody's

struggles is different.

285

Mm-hmm.

But I felt like, you know what?

287

Here's another woman who's going through

this, who's a mom, who's here picking

288

up her kids like I am, and maybe she

can give me a better understanding.

Yeah.

You know?

And honestly, like, I felt like

God was telling me for so long

to be more patient with Mike.

Mm-hmm.

Which Mike is my soon-to-be ex.

And I also felt like I needed

to, to be more patient, but

also be more understanding.

And I never really put the, the

time in researching that illness

when he first was diagnosed.

Mm-hmm.

Well, my brother-in-law was also

diagnosed with MS, and- Which they say

301

it's not genetic, but it does happen to

run in families, which is- Crazy that

302

they say it's not genetic, pero bueno.

It happens more in, in men-

Mm … from what I know.

Yeah.

And when sh- he was first initially

diagnosed, which he was diagnosed about

306

four years before my husband- Sure … or

my ex-husband, she did a lot of research.

But when I found out that

Mike was diagnosed, I was just

like- Yeah … "Okay, come on

309

No, we don't have time for this.

You gotta keep moving forward.

311

We don't have time to be sad or anything.

312

You just gotta, hey, keep going."

Yeah.

So when I did meet you, and when we

did start to talk more, I felt like

315

you gave me a better understanding-

Mm-hmm … of what that disease

316

was or how to live with it.

So I tru- I truly believe that it was God.

Yeah.

God placed you in my life for a reason.

For you, for sure, in that

sense, I think it was helpful.

But then in my perspective, looking back

at it now, it was God talking through

322

you to me because all of the times that

you kept, "Oh, just remember that Jesus

323

this and Jesus that, and God loves you,

and oh," I was cringing every time-

324

that she would talk about God to me.

325

And not because I didn't believe- … but

because I wasn't ready to really listen.

And then finally I did, but

that's why she was put in my life.

Mm-hmm.

So it, it worked out very well.

Yes, indeed.

It worked out very, very well.

So I played that whole clip

because I noticed as I was going

through the episodes that the

way we pursued God changes.

Um, and I'll show you

that in a little bit.

But this was perfect to include in,

in this episode because, again, if

it wasn't for her and for my son,

I wouldn't be here, and so much has

changed from this moment to now, not

just in my life, but also in Brandy's.

And things that we talked about,

things that we prayed for, um-

All of those things have

changed and God answered.

Maybe not in the way that we

wanted to at the time, like in

this episode, episode eight.

Um, so if you go back and you listen

to it, you'll, you'll understand.

But God answered.

Nonetheless, God's will was done, and He

answered, and we are much better for it.

Episode 11, The Pursuit.

And just a few days ago, I was

reading all of my old journal entries.

I realized that everything that

I was asking God for was like,

"God, please restore my marriage."

I was more focused on the things that God

could do for me and my marriage rather

than focusing on knowing who God is- Yeah.

Mm-hmm … and his heart.

Just what I'm saying.

Building that intimacy with God,

pursuing a relationship with him.

Yeah.

I mean, that's how most

people are, though.

Yeah.

People only remember God when

they're going through something.

Yeah, 100%.

And that's the problem.

We're so focused on

what God can do for us.

How can he, how can he, I don't

know, help promote us at work.

Oh, my God, I need this promotion

'cause I need more money.

Mm-hmm.

Or- Yep … my kid's health, you know?

Yeah.

Like, please, the anxiety

that my kid's dealing with.

Was it 10 times.

Please, how am I gonna pay my rent?

And I realized this looking

at these journal entries.

I was so focused on God blessing me.

Mm.

What can you do for me?

Rather than knowing who

really, like, God really was.

Yeah.

And yeah, focusing on the relationship.

Now you're reading more, too.

Yeah.

No- Like, you hadn't really done

that as much, I guess, before.

And the real treasure is

eternity that we have in him.

Now that you say eternity- Yeah … if

something were to happen to me

now, I feel I won't be afraid.

This is important.

Because I know.

I know what's waiting for me.

Of course.

Obviously, I wouldn't want that

because I would never wanna leave my

children behind, but- Mm-hmm … the

reality is that I- Say a little

prayer … have a completely different

understanding of what's beyond, and

it's crazy because who wants to die?

No.

No one wants to die.

But you know that what is waiting for

you is so beautiful and so amazing

that it makes this life seem like, ugh.

Yeah.

I don't wanna have anxiety every day.

Yeah.

I don't wanna go to work every day.

Am I gonna have a job in heaven, God?

You- we might.

I hope it's not a 9:00 to 5:00.

But we're gonna be happy.

We're gonna be a super- Also,

we're gonna be with the good

Lord … happy, obnoxious 9 to 5 maybe.

Yeah.

I don't know.

It's funny because I put in the notes

that the pursuit for eternity with

God- Mm-hmm … when you live with

heaven in mind, and not just today,

brings a different sense of peace.

And you don't worry about that.

That hope for eternity,

it strengthens us daily.

100%.

Knowing and understanding that there's

more is always going to give us peace.

Again, it's going to give us peace

I played this for two reasons.

First, because it was that

contrast of the previous clip.

Um, we were in different places.

We pursued God differently.

Um, I mean, we're pursuing

Him differently even now.

So it's crazy how many levels there are to

your relationship with God and with Jesus.

Um, but in reality, even already in this

second episode that her and I recorded

424

together, episode eleven, we had already

started changing our minds and our

425

hearts, um, in the way that we spoke

to Jesus and how we prayed, and it was

426

more about Him, not so much about us.

Um, and so much so that I even

understood, and I felt the anxiety

428

of death so much less, still do.

Um, and like I said, no one wants to die.

430

No one wants to leave

their children behind.

431

But we know that there is

something so much better.

We know that there's something so much

better, that eternity, is at the end,

and we have that with God, with Jesus

Christ, can't get any better than that.

So I'm so grateful for that peace,

and seeing the growth from just

a few episodes before to this

is just amazing to me, honestly.

I, I absolutely love this.

But next we have episode thirteen,

Ooh, this one was actually

A little difficult.

If you guys want to listen to

testimony, um, I kind of take you

guys through how, I came to Christ.

Obviously, that includes Brandy and

all that, but I do include a lot of my

childhood and things that happened to me.

And the thing that I came to

understand recently actually is that

a testimony isn't just one thing.

a testimony can be multiple things.

It can be different things

throughout your life.

So my friends, I wanna leave you with

this last scripture just to show you how

good our God is, how gracious and loving.

No matter what we do or go

through, He will always come

running for us when we call

Psalm 91, verse 14 through 16.

"Because he loves me," says

the Lord, "I will rescue him.

I will protect him, for

he acknowledges my name.

He will call on me and I will answer him.

I will be with him in trouble.

I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life, I will satisfy

him and show him my salvation."

I absolutely love that, and

it's all because we're loved.

It's all because we're loved by the Lord.

We all know that.

We've heard it.

You know, time is money, time is of

the essence, all of these things.

Um, but this is a question that I

will ask a lot of people now, seeing

things in a more spiritual and

God and Jesus Christ centered way.

So let's check this out here.

Episode 15: Nothing to Lose

A person I care about very, very

much reminded me yesterday- David.

473

That was David … that time does not

belong to us, and he's absolutely right.

474

Time does not belong to us.

And in this question of what you're doing

with your time, I also ask this: What do

476

you have to lose by believing in Jesus?

What do you have to lose?

What do you have to lose?

There's absolutely nothing

that you can lose by building

480

a relationship with Jesus.

He doesn't take anything.

On the contrary, in Matthew, and

forgive me, the scripture escapes,

this is not even written here at all,

but He says that His yoke is easy.

He will give us rest.

So He doesn't need anything from us.

All, all we need to do is call on Him.

We're not gonna lose anything.

If that, we are gonna gain so

much more with following Jesus.

Um, so yeah, I memorialized it

with episode 15 Let's move on to

Philippians chapter three, verses 20

through 21 says, "But our citizenship

is in heaven, and we eagerly await a

Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

who, by the power that enables him to

bring everything under his control,

will transform our lowly bodies so that

they will be like his glorious body."

So one of the things that I have

also learned, in my new church it was

solidified for me that the only thing

we're waiting for is our glorified bodies.

Right now, we're just living here on Earth

Our bodies is not gonna come with us.

And like I said, we have nothing to

lose, nothing to lose, and the only

thing that we're going to gain is

eternity and that glorified body.

And why wouldn't you want

to have a glorified body?

If you can just imagine what

that would be, what that would

505

entail, what that would look

like, what that would feel like.

No more aches, no more

pains, just true perfection.

That's why I ask, what

do you have to lose?

What do you have to lose?

People can argue with me all the

time, but I beg to differ that there

is nothing that you can lose that

is any better than Jesus Christ.

So moving on to our next clip,

episode 21: We Didn't Fail.

person is as firm as I am now-

This is the next one, the

one that everyone loves.

Verse 11, "'For I know the thoughts

that I think toward you,' says the

Lord, 'thoughts of peace and not of

evil, to give you a future and a hope.'"

Verse 12, "'Then you will call

upon Me and go and pray to Me,

and I will listen to you.'"

Me and find Me when you search

Now, 29:11, obviously that's a

beautiful verse just because God

what I have in store for you.

And man, we forget that.

We forget that there is something

so much more, something far greater

in our future than what we have now

Well, ain't that the truth

in the NKJV version, it sounds a little

bit different, but that's the very famous

scripture or popular scripture, um, that

says something to the effect of, and

forgive me if I butcher it, um, "For I

know the plans that I have for you," is

specifically what most people, um, use.

And that's what, that's

what the Lord is telling us.

The plans that He has for

us is His story for us.

Like, we can't mess with that.

We shouldn't worry because

it's all figured out.

And of course we worry, you know?

Of course, because we're impatient.

We're impatient, and if we are just still

and we remember that there is a plan

in place already, we're gonna be okay.

And in this video, um, I had a note

here for myself, and I put, "This was an

encouragement I needed, a reminder I felt

that a lot also needed to hear often.

God has all things in control.

He is the planner of all things.

But like in Lamentations 3:24-26,

we need to know that being patient,

waiting quietly for the Lord,

um, if one thing is for certain,

is that His will will be made."

share Lamentations 3:24-26.

And that says, "'The Lord is my portion,'

says my soul, 'Therefore I hope in Him.'

quietly for the salvation of the Lord."

And it's really hard

for us to wait quietly.

The other day, I saw a video on

YouTube that David shared with me.

David, of course.

Um, and I even shared it in the

Bible study with the ladies, and one

of the things that it said was just

try to be in prayer for 10 minutes.

Silence.

Total silence.

No phone, no nothing, in the dark.

No sound, no music.

I couldn't even go two minutes

without wanting to tap my phone

and look at- It's horrible … the,

the clock to see what time it was.

And I just, I pray that

we can be more quiet.

We can be more quiet, and we can

just try to pray in silence and

truly want to hear what He has to

say to us, because a lot of the time,

we say, "Oh, God, You're so quiet.

You're so quiet.

You don't…

The Lord doesn't talk to me.

The Lord doesn't give me a sign."

But the reality is, are we quiet

long enough to allow Him to speak?

Are we- True … patient long enough to

truly allow Him to do a work in our lives?

Are we truly uncontrolling?

Do we truly release control to

allow Him to move in our lives?

And we need to analyze those things.

So I truly pray, I pray

that we can allow that.

Myself, I'm s- really still working on

some of those things, but again, that's

my encouragement to you guys as well.

It was, um, the Book of Colossians 4,

however, part of his e-exhortation to

us was about being in prayer and how

difficult it is for us to sometimes

stay in prayer, and that people

pray maybe, like, one minute a day,

combining seconds here and there,

morning, middle of the day, evening.

It's, like, one minute

that we're talking to God.

So when I saw this clip, I couldn't

believe that I was talking about

it, and I even shared it with

his wife, and I was like, "Wow."

You know, the Lord's timing is perfect and

perhaps to- that that service was for me.

And I'm so grateful for it

because he was so right.

Like, we do not spend

enough time in prayer.

And anyway, his encouragement to

me today, plus this encouragement

episode, episode 42, um, is just such

a great reminder that we need to seek

God more, not just as an emergency

and as a backup, but for everything,

the good, the bad, the in-between,

every second, as much as we can.

Let's see what I'm going to say In

going to our Wednesday Bible studies and

in being there every Sunday since the

beginning of this year, I just started

serving, again, very small, um, helping

with coffee and snacks for Sunday.

Hmm.

But my heart is completely

changed, and my mind is at peace.

I don't feel exhausted

anymore after services.

Nope.

I feel like I am being fed spiritually.

And I feel like I am supported in a

group of people who truly love God.

And when there has been the smallest thing

in my life, the first thing that happens

is, "Hey, Sarai, I missed you today."

They don't say, "Where were you?"

They say, "Hey, I hope everything is okay.

We missed you and the kids today.

I'm going to be praying for you."

That's it.

And, you know, it's not to say that I

didn't have that in the other church, uh,

'cause there were more people, but when

things come from the heart and things

are like Jesus, things are Christ-like,

and people live trying to be as righteous

and as holy as Jesus, there's a lot more

Ah, what's the word?

There's a lot more love Mm-hmm There's

a lot more love, and it comes from a

much more humble place Yes, it does.

And on the note from the previous

episode that I was talking about

my new church, um, God will get

you to where you have to go.

That is the perfect, perfect example

that I can use because I started

in one church, which was the church

that helped me be led to Christ.

Um, it's where I learned a lot of

things about myself, um, about the

fact that I have a servant heart.

I love serving.

Like, if I can just jump in and start

helping in five different things, I will.

Um, and that's okay.

There's nothing wrong with that.

But, but you can't pour from an empty cup.

You need to be recharged.

Um, it's not just about the works.

It's not just about serving.

It's about having your time with the Lord

and with God and, like I said, being fed.

Um, again, David gave me that analogy that

he also learned that you come to a point

where you don't want to have baby food.

You want solid food, and you want more.

And that's in, that's in

fact what I was in search of.

And because I was serving so much, um, I

just … My reserves were just depleted.

Like, my spiritual reserves were

depleted, and I needed more.

But it's not until you actually listen

to God and obey what He is trying to

show you or take you out of or … Not

that anything bad happened, by the

way, but just me as a person, I felt

like I was being driven out because I

839

needed more, and I'm grateful for that.

Why?

Because now I am in a place where- I

have furthered my relationship with

842

God and with Jesus Christ even more.

And that is more important than any

type of service that I could do.

Am I serving at my new church?

Yes, I am, in two different things.

Small little tasks that go a

very long way, but it doesn't

matter how big or how small.

The important thing is that when

I'm not serving, I am actually

feeding my soul, feeding myself,

learning, growing, and actually

just leaving with that cup filled.

I'm leaving ready to take on all of the

attacks, all of whatever is going to

come my way because it was intentional.

It was intentional, and it was from God.

All things that bring

you peace are from God.

So anyway, I digress.

humbled me and disciplined me."

these, it's very, very true.

He humbled me first because when I

really started reading, for example,

when I really dove in just headfirst.

and, um, anything on YouVersion.

Not that there's anything wrong with

that, but really studying the word.

He, as in the Lord Jesus,

God, He really humbled me.

I saw I was not a good person 'cause

you come into this relationship, and

you're like, "Yeah, I'm all good."

You know everything from the

world, and it's not like that.

We are all wretched, evil people.

I didn't see myself as shiny anymore,

Um, so it was really humbling for me,

and I love, again, seeing the trajectory
