About Sassy:
Sassy Smith is a revolution in the world of coaching. As the founder of The Aphantasia Coaching Academy and a pioneering force in neurodiversity, she is transforming how coaches approach their neurodivergent clients. Her unique journey began in 2015 when she discovered that she has aphantasia, a neurological condition that prevents her from visualising images in her mind. This led her to unravel why she had always struggled with coaching practices centred around visualisation, and, more importantly, it sparked the mission to ensure that others like her could reap the transformational benefits of coaching. With an extensive background in leadership, coaching, and women's health, she offers a unique perspective on neurodiversity backed by personal experience and academic excellence.
Her powerful story of self-discovery and her journey to understanding her own neurological condition is deeply personal and relatable. Sassy's mission is to create a space for neurodivergent people to experience the transformative power of coaching.
What part of being a grown-ass adult are you in AWE of?
That moment when you realise that you don't have to worry what people think about you, because they're all too busy worrying about what you might think of them!
What part of being an adult do you think we all suck at?
With everything becoming so digital I do think we're starting to suck at real connections.
What do you see as the most important or valuable shift or change you've made for yourself in your adult life?
The most important thing for me really was finding out all about my neurological conditions. It was such an aha time for me and helped me to understand how to overcome challenges I'd been facing, without even realising I was facing them.
"I am an adult but..... I still laugh like a child when I'm bobbing up and down on the waves, on my morning sea dips."
