Shownotes

Nothing kills a good employee faster than them watching you tolerate a bad one.

So maybe it’s time to stop procrastinating… and start making time to have those tough conversations with your bad employees.

I’m going to show you how you can do it in a pain-free way, because I know it’s not a pleasant thing to do, and I think it’s the reason why this is the second most downloaded podcast episode this year…

Nobody really likes confrontation but calling out bad behavior and work practices is essential if you’re going to keep your best employees and also help your bad ones improve, or exit them from your business.

There’s a skill to having these conversations and making sure you don’t make the situation worse, but normally the worst case scenarios you’re playing out in your head…

The scenarios causing you to put off having the convo in the first place, don’t play out.

The key is having a plan before you talk with your problem team member, because when you learn how to master these tricky convos, you’ll:

Feel confident about having tough conversations

Give great feedback to your team so they can improve

Be able to get rid of the bad apples who can’t or won’t improve

Gain the respect from the rest of your team, which is great for company culture.

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN FROM IMPLEMENTING TODAYS PODCAST:

  • The structure to have a difficult conversation effectively
  • A way to enforce a standard of behavior
  • A method for ending conversations in a way that benefits the whole team
