Welcome to the show. It's really great to have you here.
6
::Dr Aumatma: So great to be here, so great to be here.
7
::Dr Aumatma: Yay, so.
8
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: So let me ask you, what's the most significant thing in your opinion, as individuals, we can do to make an impact on how the world is going.
9
::Dr Aumatma: I really like this question, and I wanted to just see what was going to come up instead of prepping an answer. So what is what I'm aware of
10
::Dr Aumatma: these days at the moment is that there are a lot of things going on around us, and it's becoming harder and harder to
11
::Dr Aumatma: see through and find the truth. And I think that
12
::Dr Aumatma: as we move as we progress into the AI age, or whatever is going on right now, I think it's going to be of the most importance
13
::Dr Aumatma: to follow, to be really clear with our intuition, and follow that and
14
::Dr Aumatma: realize that everything that might be happening or being thrown at us may not be truth, and we're gonna need
15
::Dr Aumatma: finer and finer discernment to sift through it.
16
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I could not agree with you more. I feel like the world is kind of pulling in 2 directions. There's people that are are embracing AI, but not like letting it replace their humanity. And when you speak to the intuition of
17
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: of who we are, intuition to me speaks to our soul listening to who we are as a human
18
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: entity, and AI can enhance that, and it can help us do things better faster. But it shouldn't replace us in terms of our role in
19
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: in doing what we came here to do, and and part of what we come here to do is actually to reproduce
20
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: because we are biological beings, and if we don't reproduce.
21
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: our species will die out just like, you know, a lot of other species in on the planet die out because of reproductive issues.
22
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: So I know that that's where you really shine is helping people navigate those
23
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: those kind of treacherous waters right now. It's really crazy. How hard it is for people to have children.
24
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: A basic.
25
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
26
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Biological function.
27
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, yeah, I think that with oomph.
28
::Dr Aumatma: it's it's where we are in the world right now. And there are some leaders that have been. Not that I am promoting their opinions, but I do think that there are leaders that are speaking up to. We do need to make sure that we continue procreating
29
::Dr Aumatma: and having children is essential to the survival of the human species.
30
::Dr Aumatma: And at the same time, there's this pull that's happening to AI, to technology. It's been happening for years that people couples are choosing to have less and less children. It's as a choice, not as an issue. So we have been moving towards a society that is opting for less children.
31
::Dr Aumatma: That's fine. But then you add to it the things that
32
::Dr Aumatma: we have in our society that are pulling from our ability to have children easily.
33
::Dr Aumatma: And that's where I think the awareness piece is really big for me, and I'm like I will talk to anybody who will listen, because
34
::Dr Aumatma: it is really apparent from the statistics that I've seen
35
::Dr Aumatma: and the way that the world is moving, it's possible that in the next 15 years or so we have something that looks like a handmaid's tale where I don't know if you've seen that show. But I could only get through the 1st 2 episodes because it was so real. I was like, Oh, my God, this could actually happen. I could not watch this. And it's basically like
36
::Dr Aumatma: they, Margaret Atwood, who's the author of the book original book
37
::Dr Aumatma: that the show is based off of.
38
::Dr Aumatma: basically saw that there could be a world where most men would not have adequate sperm to be able to reproduce.
39
::Dr Aumatma: And and the whole story of the handmaid's tale is like around this idea, and then you have to have these this the only like fertilizer men, or some I don't know what they call it. I watched 2 episodes, but like these men that actually still had sperm were the only ones that were going to be able to have these women reproduce, and they would just like become the sperm factory for the planet, because that's where we were at.
40
::Dr Aumatma: So it's you know, and.
41
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Genetically, that's so dangerous.
42
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
43
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Cause you. I mean, we already have so many issues as far as.
44
::Dr Aumatma: Okay.
45
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Children being born and having genetic issues.
46
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I and I realized that, you know, abortion came along, and a huge swath of
47
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: human beings that maybe would have come into the world and full disclosure. You know I've had abortions in more than one, and
48
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I'm not proud of it. I've also had 5 children, so I mean, like.
49
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: you can judge me if you want, but.
50
::Dr Aumatma: Hey? You did what you needed to.
51
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I did what I did, and it is what it is, and a lot. There are a lot of women in my age group who have also, you know, they they bought into the idea of you know you don't. You don't have to have children, and we we kind of went along with this idea that you know
52
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: it's it's okay. You don't have to have kids.
53
::Dr Aumatma: But.
54
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: As a species. If we have that opinion, and then you add on to the fact that when kids are born, a lot of them are already having problems. We have all this autism going on. And so you're you're changing. It's not to disparage people who have autism either. It's just that you're changing the dynamics of the intelligence and the functionality of human beings. We we have reached a point where most people cannot feed.
55
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: clothe, or shelter themselves. Naturally, I mean, if there was a grocery store ceased to exist.
56
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
57
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Huge swaths of the population around the world would die just because they don't know what's food.
58
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, absolutely. And I would probably be right along with them. Like, I think about this way too often, which is. And I just watched a video this morning of
59
::Dr Aumatma: this woman who is saying what it takes for her to grow food for a family of 6.
60
::Dr Aumatma: They have 5 acres of land. She literally like grows beans and vegetables and fruit, and like literally everything that they need for feeding themselves.
61
::Dr Aumatma: And I'm looking at this video like. There's no way like there's no world in which I could actually be capable of doing this.
62
::Dr Aumatma: And that's scary to me because we are. We're a species that came from that. Like we relied on growing our own food. We got more and more and more disconnected from that. And now we're living in boxes that
63
::Dr Aumatma: don't have the space for it, like my backyard, does not have 5 acres that I could grow food for my family on, so
64
::Dr Aumatma: we are.
65
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Trade with each other. I live in an environment where people do have gardens
66
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: grow food, but food only grows during a certain season.
67
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: It doesn't grow all.
68
::Dr Aumatma: All year round, no.
69
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And you know it used to be. People
70
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: grew a lot in the summer, and then they they put food up for the winter, and I have lots of friends that still do that, but got a basement full of food that I've put up over the years, but it's
71
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: We don't know how to cook with that food normally, and it's a different dynamic to like
72
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: when you get a hankering for something. You just go to the grocery store and buy it. And versus, you know, looking in your pantry and saying, Okay, this is what I've got. What can I make.
73
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Different mentality.
74
::Dr Aumatma: Yes, yeah, absolutely. I think
75
::Dr Aumatma: you know, in the context of fertility, then we really have
76
::Dr Aumatma: a world which has been kind of moving along with
77
::Dr Aumatma: ideals, ideas, and and like, I am pro choice, right like
78
::Dr Aumatma: you do what you want with your life on all things.
79
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Yeah.
80
::Dr Aumatma: And as a species, we see the stats of
81
::Dr Aumatma: young men that are in their early twenties.
82
::Dr Aumatma: that have declining amounts of testosterone declining amounts of sperm.
83
::Dr Aumatma: and this is considered peak fertility. Yet
84
::Dr Aumatma: as as we look at the numbers, we're like Whoa! This is like a scary level of decline in just the last 70 years.
85
::Dr Aumatma: So as a person that looks at these is like tracking the numbers and and stuff, and fertility is one of these things that determines the health of a species right like, if we are able to reproduce, we are in a good place, and if we're not, then something is really out of whack.
86
::Dr Aumatma: and that's the stuff that really scares me is like.
87
::Dr Aumatma: These numbers have declined so much that you have to keep asking the question like, What are we doing now that we didn't do a hundred years ago? And it's what we started talking about.
88
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Like.
89
::Dr Aumatma: Everything is relying on plastic. We wear plastic, we eat out of plastic, we drink out of plastic. It's
90
::Dr Aumatma: the foundation has become plastic. Unless we're paying attention to it. And and we're aware and we're doing something.
91
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Even if you are aware, you may think you're aware, but stuff like soda cans.
92
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: All cans actually are plastic. There has a plastic liner in them it's not metal.
93
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah. And and even if it were metal, like the metal is aluminum. So that's a heavy metal.
94
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Yeah.
95
::Dr Aumatma: There is a problem.
96
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Disruptor.
97
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, yeah, or it's lined with plastic. And there's no winning. It's like you can choose which of whichever of the evils that you want to choose. But you're going to be putting something in your body that wasn't around a hundred years ago. We're not talking a thousand years. We're not talking 500 years, literally.
98
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Around, 50.
99
::Dr Aumatma: Grandparents, lifetime.
100
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Years.
101
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, yeah.
102
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Than that maybe 40 years. I remember when plastic bags came into the grocery bags.
103
::Dr Aumatma: Hmm.
104
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I remember the discussions about well, we're not using paper bags because we're saving the trees. That was their argument.
105
::Dr Aumatma: Right?
106
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah. So we're good.
107
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Like screw up the water and the trees, anyway, because you know, landfill.
108
::Dr Aumatma: Right. And we're.
109
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Diapers. And I just like.
110
::Dr Aumatma: Yes, yeah, yeah, we're we're in a.
111
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: But.
112
::Dr Aumatma: You know, and and like it can get overwhelming. And we can have this idea of like, Oh, my God, this is so big! And what am I going to do about it? But I think that's partly why I've been so passionate about fertility for so long is I feel like
113
::Dr Aumatma: a the time period where people are trying to have children, they are willing to do the most
114
::Dr Aumatma: in their lifestyle choices, in their.
115
::Dr Aumatma: in their general environment, choices that they wouldn't be doing in other points in their life.
116
::Dr Aumatma: So there's this key moment of time where we could actually make significant changes to our environment, to the products that we use in our house, to the
117
::Dr Aumatma: water bottles we drink out of and throw away right like on some level.
118
::Dr Aumatma: I have the ability to have the people that I'm in connection with at least make different choices, and they're doing it from a place of this is going to support my fertility. But what I love about it is, it's also supporting the planet.
119
::Dr Aumatma: And we are, you know, we need it like we need the wake up call of no, we can't just put hundreds and thousands of plastic bags in the trash that don't decompose, that are going to sit there for centuries
120
::Dr Aumatma: and potentially like, just suffocate us all right, like on a basic. I'm not an environmentalist at all, but like the idea that we are, we're, you know, like mountains of plastic are found in the ocean, and the fish are dying, and then that affects it's we are all interconnected. It's not. We can't separate out the ocean from what's happening to my body.
121
::Dr Aumatma: And that's where I see the our power, like taking our power back, is really from this place of hey? If I'm aware about this, and I know that this will support my fertility. So I'm going to make the change anyway, but that I'm making that choice, and can continue doing that
122
::Dr Aumatma: for the next
123
::Dr Aumatma: 3, 4, 5 decades, however long I'm going to be here is to me like magical in some ways, because that's the only thing that we have control over. Right? I mean, sure I could get into policy. And how do we change the policies? But that's not
124
::Dr Aumatma: all right.
125
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Like it all starts with us as individuals. Yeah. And what you do as an individual impacts the world.
126
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
127
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: It might be small, but, you know.
128
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: just choosing to drink out of glass containers. You can get water bottles, portable water bottles that are glass or stainless steel.
129
::Dr Aumatma: Yep.
130
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: The, you know.
131
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Yeah.
132
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: it's easy. It's an easy thing to do. It's easy to put a filtration system into your main sink, and you know. Fill your your water bottle up with that, and they they come in in huge sizes. My daughter has 1. 1 of my daughters has one. That's I think it's like a half gallon. It's big, and she carries this little tiny thing she is, but she carries it around with her everywhere.
133
::Dr Aumatma: That's so smart. That's great. That's great. That's exactly what we need to be doing. I go through my water bottles, and and I think that it's so. It's like these little choices that we're we're able to make
134
::Dr Aumatma: is our power. And it could be really easy for us to be like, well, I'm not going to be here in 30 years. Who cares? But if we think about what we like, the next generation, which is literally what fertility is about right. It's like, how do we prepare for this next generation? And I think that
135
::Dr Aumatma: the the science, our bodies, they're already telling us what's good or not good for the next generation. We know that plastic is extremely
136
::Dr Aumatma: disruptive to the endocrine system, so we know, like our body is giving that feedback loop to us all the time. This is not good for you. Why are you still doing this?
137
::Dr Aumatma: And because it's a slow burn, we don't actually see it. We don't feel it. We don't. We don't feel like oh, I feel crappy after I drink out of a plastic bottle. I don't feel anything
138
::Dr Aumatma: so it's harder to differentiate. It's harder to notice. But these are the choices that are really going to determine which direction we move in.
139
::Dr Aumatma: and the more people that wake up that can be like, oh, I don't use plastic anymore, or
140
::Dr Aumatma: I, you know I have reusable bags. I bring my bags to the store I don't cook in. I don't. Even the
141
::Dr Aumatma: The plastic nonstick
142
::Dr Aumatma: spoons and ladles and spatulas like our cooking utensils that are being exposed to the heat. They are releasing these plastic compounds into our food
143
::Dr Aumatma: or the pan that you're cooking in. So just just like the little choices that we can make on a personal level that help support our fertility. What's really cool about this is that they are also the same toxins that are carcinogenic.
144
::Dr Aumatma: So the things that you remove out of your body, out of your environment while you're trying to conceive, are going to be the same things that are going to help prevent cancer.
145
::Dr Aumatma: And they're the same things that are going to support the planet and the healing that we need
146
::Dr Aumatma: to have a better world that's not filled with piles and mountains of plastic.
147
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And the thing that is is so cool about a lot of this is, it's way cheaper
148
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: in the long run.
149
::Dr Aumatma: Absolutely.
150
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: We got rid of our microwave a long time ago.
151
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
152
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: So now.
153
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: if we want to eat something warm, we have to cook it, and you know we have a toaster oven which has helped a lot. I have a variety of cast iron pots, so I have some little ones for my husband, who's just learning to cook right now, and I have some bigger ones, for you know the both of us, when we're cooking bigger meals, but
154
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: mostly I have cast iron, or I have.
155
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I have a stainless steel walk that I use also.
156
::Dr Aumatma: Button.
157
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Those and glass pans for baking in.
158
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
159
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: That's what I got. I make homemade bread goes in the cast iron. You can use crock pots because that crock is glass or ceramic. But it's not leaching poisons into your system. If you have a water filtration system and you bring your own water everywhere, you're not buying $3 bottles of water.
160
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Yeah, you know.
161
::Dr Aumatma: Right.
162
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I when they tell you, you know you shouldn't drink from the hose because it's bad for you. I'm like, well, you shouldn't drink from the plastic bottle that you're replacing it with either.
163
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, yep, absolutely. It's
164
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah. There's so many little things that we can do that
165
::Dr Aumatma: is hopefully going to slow down this rate of decline in fertility
166
::Dr Aumatma: and help us turn the ship around. Because, if not.
167
::Dr Aumatma: and I'm not saying this as like a warning or a scare tactic. But.
168
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: -
169
::Dr Aumatma: If we don't like, that's also okay. Humans will go away. AI will take over. We will have robots running the planet. That's fine. That might be our future.
170
::Dr Aumatma: or we can wake up and realize that
171
::Dr Aumatma: they don't need to replace us. And we we
172
::Dr Aumatma: do have something within us to gift to the world, and I think.
173
::Dr Aumatma: helping to support the future generations. To live on this planet in a way that is
174
::Dr Aumatma: continues to be fruitful for them is a good choice.
175
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Yeah, a lot of it is just helping people understand that. You know nature, we are nature.
176
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: and we need to be part of nature and learning. What's what is food? Most people don't realize that their yard
177
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: is full of edible stuff.
178
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: It's got some poisonous stuff in it, too. But if we would teach our children what you can eat out of your backyard like dandelions. Every part of a dandelion is edible
179
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: rose petals.
180
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
181
::Dr Aumatma: those are edible. Lots of flowers are edible. Some of them are deadly poisonous. So you better know what you're doing.
182
::Dr Aumatma: But.
183
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I mean.
184
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: these are these are things that exist around us all the time. There are a lot of weeds that are totally edible.
185
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: but people don't know, because they haven't been taught.
186
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
187
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I don't know. We want to teach our children about history that
188
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: may or may not be accurate or
189
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: propagandize them, and into believing things that aren't really going to help them in in life.
190
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Mean to me. It would be much better if we just like
191
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: taught them how to grow a garden, and how to can and prepare food, and you know, maybe
192
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: maybe you could teach them math and a few other things, and and the few that are really like dedicated to learning
193
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: about something else people have always learned. I mean, that's kind of about who we are as a species. We want to learn, and we want to to keep going. But you know, just cramming a bunch of facts at children or telling children. Things are facts when they may or may not be facts.
194
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: It isn't isn't helpful to our species.
195
::Dr Aumatma: No, we definitely yeah. We've got some wake-up calls ahead.
196
::Dr Aumatma: and I think they will keep getting louder and louder till we're listening and choosing differently. Hopefully.
197
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: So what is the one misconception that people have about fertility that you wish you could erase forever.
198
::Dr Aumatma: That age has something to do with it, and
199
::Dr Aumatma: I will. Age is interesting because the young people are like, oh, this is going to be so easy
200
::Dr Aumatma: and the quote unquote. Older people are like.
201
::Dr Aumatma: Oh, no, I'm too old to have babies, and it's
202
::Dr Aumatma: age has a role to play. It's 1 factor. But age is not the only factor, and I think
203
::Dr Aumatma: too often the message, the rhetoric that we are hearing is especially as women.
204
::Dr Aumatma: You are super fertile right now. So
205
::Dr Aumatma: you know, do what you can to not get pregnant until you're ready to until you choose to.
206
::Dr Aumatma: And then oh, by the way, at 35 the clock is going to stop. You're going to fall off of a cliff, and you are no longer fertile. You are now, perimenopausal quote unquote.
207
::Dr Aumatma: So this this idea, that fertility is limited to this narrow window of time is not actually true.
208
::Dr Aumatma: Science does not support that at all.
209
::Dr Aumatma: Yet. Doctors will tell you this thing, and the reason is it's become part of the fabric of society, and no one is questioning it.
210
::Dr Aumatma: But if you start questioning it, you realize that this concept, this idea came about in the 18 hundreds in France where
211
::Dr Aumatma: churches were documenting, that women were not coming in to baptize their children
212
::Dr Aumatma: after the age of 35. So their conclusion was, Oh, well, that must be when our fertility ends
213
::Dr Aumatma: well, me being who I am, I was like, well, how long did women live in the 18 hundreds? In France average life expectancy for women in the 18 hundreds was
214
::Dr Aumatma: to 32.8.
215
::Dr Aumatma: So they were dying before they could no longer have children. Basically. So we really have to reframe and think about like, is this actually true? And this is where we started off. Right is like questioning that.
216
::Dr Aumatma: not accepting what people tell us as truth, but really questioning it, and saying, Well, if that's true, what does it mean?
217
::Dr Aumatma: And if it's not true.
218
::Dr Aumatma: then what does that mean? And for me, that was the the day that things shifted.
219
::Dr Aumatma: I was in a place with within a relationship. I was married to this man who I did not want to have children with my body, was absolutely not like not doing this with him
220
::Dr Aumatma: and
221
::Dr Aumatma: And I was stressed because I was like, Oh, my God, I'm gonna like not be fertile very soon, like this is what I learned in medical school, you know, and the day I realized that wait a second. This is not backed by science. There's no proof that our fertility actually just goes. Poof!
222
::Dr Aumatma: Then that made me question everything else
223
::Dr Aumatma: and everything else was well, so if that's not true, if it's
224
::Dr Aumatma: if it's only observation, and it was the 18 hundreds like. Who cares? That has nothing to do with me now. So then, what is true? So if that's not the truth. Then how do I understand about myself and my fertility? What is possible?
225
::Dr Aumatma: So I had to create and come up with different ways to assess
226
::Dr Aumatma: what was happening in my body.
227
::Dr Aumatma: so that I could make the choice that I made which was to get a divorce wait for the right partner. And then, 6 years later I finally did have a child, but all of that came out of this one split second of like wait. What, like everything I've been taught is based on this
228
::Dr Aumatma: myth literally, that
229
::Dr Aumatma: women are not fertile after 35, and then on the flip side, like the idea that men are fertile forever. And that's also not true. Right?
230
::Dr Aumatma: There is massive decline in testosterone and sperm. By the time men are 45, and honestly like that, that was true back back when I started doing fertility. These days.
231
::Dr Aumatma: men in their twenties have lower testosterone than men in their forties and fifties 50 years ago. So that
232
::Dr Aumatma: that is like where
233
::Dr Aumatma: so much of what we tell couples young people is tied to this idea of age, when, in fact.
234
::Dr Aumatma: that's changing so fast, and no one is actually having the real conversation of like, Hey, dude.
235
::Dr Aumatma: young man, like, if you hope to have children one day, here are the things that you need to do to protect your body, to protect your future fertility. And part of that is not taking testosterone shots right like where I live. There's testosterone.
236
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And clinics on every.
237
::Dr Aumatma: Corner.
238
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Stop with the medical intervention shit. Just stop.
239
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, stop.
240
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Vaccinating stop getting pills for everything that you've got, just like stop.
241
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
242
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Fix your diet first, st and then see what you need.
243
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I mean April.
244
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
245
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I'm I'm super passionate about that. I.
246
::Dr Aumatma: It's like, yeah, but it it's.
247
::Dr Aumatma: you know, like diet. What's interesting about diet, especially in the fertility world is, we will hear a lot of reproductive endocrinologists who say
248
::Dr Aumatma: diet has no impact on fertility outcomes no impact.
249
::Dr Aumatma: So you could continue eating your crappy diet
250
::Dr Aumatma: that is going to have no outcome, no difference on whether or not you get pregnant whether or not your $20,000 Ivf. Cycle is successful.
251
::Dr Aumatma: and science says otherwise, like there are studies that are published, very credible studies that
252
::Dr Aumatma: show that diet again and again and again was the determining factor of whether or not someone was going to have a successful Ivf cycle if someone was going to have an easy time conceiving so diet matters a lot, and
253
::Dr Aumatma: of course it matters if you're eating crappy, processed food. You're not. Your cells are not going to function the way they were designed to. We were designed to function on real food grown
254
::Dr Aumatma: coming out of the soil in the earth.
255
::Dr Aumatma: not made in a lab somewhere, and.
256
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: That was that was actually now actually cultivated. Yeah.
257
::Dr Aumatma: Yep.
258
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: That has nutrition in it, because it is natural composting.
259
::Dr Aumatma: Oof.
260
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Happened instead of the.
261
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, like.
262
::Dr Aumatma: yeah, yeah. Oh, we need phosphate and nitrogen for plants to grow. Let's just throw that in there.
263
::Dr Aumatma: Absolutely. I think
264
::Dr Aumatma: so many layers of that. And I think that it's it's how we think about things. And when we think about something from a holistic perspective.
265
::Dr Aumatma: it is, it incorporates ourselves, the environment that we're in, the relationships that we have the like, what we're putting into our bodies.
266
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Overwhel.
267
::Dr Aumatma: I wear.
268
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Okay. But.
269
::Dr Aumatma: Out. Yeah, like every single piece of it is making a difference. And
270
::Dr Aumatma: and it like it sounds overwhelming. But the reality is, it's actually relatively easy, if you're like.
271
::Dr Aumatma: Oh, I I have a class that I was teaching when I lived in the Bay Area. I would go into schools like middle school.
272
::Dr Aumatma: And in the urban environment. And they were like.
273
::Dr Aumatma: I brought a carrot one time. And I was like, Where does this come from, you guys. And they're like.
274
::Dr Aumatma: What is that?
275
::Dr Aumatma: Because it was an actual carrot? It was not a baby carrot. It was like a actual.
276
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Except to Clorox.
277
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
278
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: That's what those bullet carrots are.
279
::Dr Aumatma: Right? Exactly. Exactly. So. They were like, what? How? What is this like? How do you get this? And it was the funniest thing for me because I was like, this is a carrot literally pulled out of the earth. This is what it looks like, because you can like it still, had the carrot tops with the greens.
280
::Dr Aumatma: and they were like, oh, that's what it looks like.
281
::Dr Aumatma: Wait, you can grow that.
282
::Dr Aumatma: And it was it's just like such a humorous moment, like so innocent. But
283
::Dr Aumatma: just like realizing that we're very disconnected from the earth and
284
::Dr Aumatma: the soil around us, and like realizing that the more disconnected we get, the less
285
::Dr Aumatma: necessary we are on this planet like, that's kind of what I.
286
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Becoming more and more of a burden to the planet.
287
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
288
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And all the decisions that we make and are made for us as a species. It's like.
289
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
290
::Dr Aumatma: But again, I always I try to spin it to the positive, like, we still have the opportunity to make different choices.
291
::Dr Aumatma: and for the people that are out there listening, that are worried about like, how do I have children? Why can't I have children just realizing that you have a lot of choices that you can make
292
::Dr Aumatma: that are likely to lead you towards better fertility than not.
293
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
294
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And you offer a holistic, holistic fertility, blueprint.
295
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Trouble getting that one out. Talk about that for a second.
296
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah, absolutely. So. The holistic fertility blueprint is
297
::Dr Aumatma: a kind of a guidebook to how to conceive
298
::Dr Aumatma: what lab tests, to ask for, how long to wait. What kind of testing to do? Just a overview of the understanding that infertility quote unquote infertility is not
299
::Dr Aumatma: the diagnosis. It's really your body saying something is out of whack with what your body was designed to do.
300
::Dr Aumatma: and unless you are, you have a genetic anomaly that makes you actually infertile.
301
::Dr Aumatma: I believe that most people don't have infertility. They are having trouble conceiving, and
302
::Dr Aumatma: that can be changed. If we understand why.
303
::Dr Aumatma: if we can understand what is standing in this couple's way of
304
::Dr Aumatma: being able to have a healthy
305
::Dr Aumatma: human growing inside of the woman and having a child, and all of that like, we can figure it out most of the time we can.
306
::Dr Aumatma: And of course there are medical conditions. There are diseases. There are genetic things that
307
::Dr Aumatma: can happen that make it impossible. But those conditions are far rarer than what the world would like you to believe, because there's a lot of money in doing. Ivf. There's a lot of money in you being medicalized for something that isn't
308
::Dr Aumatma: a problem.
309
::Dr Aumatma: We can make it a problem. But.
310
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: All of all of a woman's life.
311
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: every every aspect of it is a disease. When you're prepubescent, it's you need to have all of these things done, and when you're becoming a woman, then you have to fall into all of these other medical categories, and then we have to do something for you if you want to conceive or not conceive, and then you go through menopause, and then you're broken. No, you're not. It's just the freaking stage you're going through. It's a really nice one. Actually.
312
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: you know it. Just yeah, it's just it's just another phase in life. It just like
313
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: they look at women, and this like dollar signs. Let's experiment on them, and.
314
::Dr Aumatma: Yep, yeah, what a pupilism it's
315
::Dr Aumatma: is. Yeah, we we can't. We don't need to fall into that. And
316
::Dr Aumatma: and I think that we are with fertility. We're choosing it because a lot of people think that. Oh, I got to get pregnant now, and it's not happening right now. So I need to go into this
317
::Dr Aumatma: paradigm and do what they tell me, and then it will happen.
318
::Dr Aumatma: But it's this is again the reality and and not is.
319
::Dr Aumatma: is really questioning every step of it. So that you actually know what you're getting into and
320
::Dr Aumatma: choose and and like, I'm not against Ivf, I think it's amazing. I think it has a place and can have really beautiful successful stories out of it. But
321
::Dr Aumatma: who is it for? And when and.
322
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I have a couple of examples.
323
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I know you were coming.
324
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Grandchildren are Ivf miracles.
325
::Dr Aumatma: Yeah.
326
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: But they were. It was a specific
327
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: issue, and it was a genetic issue for my daughter-in-law, and
328
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: they were they were able to use their own genetic material, and had surrogates.
329
::Dr Aumatma: Okay.
330
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: You know.
331
::Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: it wasn't because they were running out of time. Or you know all of these other things, and they tried a lot of stuff first, st and she just physically can't carry children.
332
::Dr Aumatma: Yep. And and that's that's what I mean, like, I think that there is a place. So it's a beautiful, amazing technology. And I'm completely not averse to it. I I just think that
333
::Dr Aumatma: if we are asking those questions of like, when does this make sense? When do I want to do this, then we only do it if it's necessary, rather than like oh, everyone, you can't get pregnant great. Go into this factory, and we're going to make you some babies.
334
::Dr Aumatma: And
335
::Dr Aumatma: yeah, it's it's a very different path than someone who says, Oh, I can't get pregnant. Why can't I get pregnant? What's what's happening that I can't get pregnant. Please explain it to me.
336
::Dr Aumatma: and that so sorry to go back to the blueprint. That's exactly what the blueprint is about is
337
::Dr Aumatma: to help couples wake up to the fact that if they're not getting pregnant there's probably something happening under the surface that they don't realize. And
338
::Dr Aumatma: I want to help them figure it out. If if they know what's happening, then we can look at that and say, Oh, you actually do need Ivf. Let's
339
::Dr Aumatma: let's not waste time.
340
::Dr Aumatma: or Hey, your hormones are out of whack. You can fix your hormones like that's not a big deal so really like figuring out the why and spending time on understanding what that is for you is the key to opening options rather than feeling like. Oh, my God! I have no options. I'm running out of time. I just need to do this thing. The doctor is telling me to do
341
::Dr Aumatma: because no, that's not. Most people are not being helped in that way.
342
::Dr Aumatma: Right like. For sure, I think the stats are pretty amazing. It's like 23% of women. 29% of women are given the unexplained infertility diagnosis without any workup, without any testing to the male partner which 50% of those are going to be male factor related.
343
::Dr Aumatma: So really like
344
::Dr Aumatma: looking beyond the basics and saying, Hey, I want to figure this out, and if I need Ivf cool, it's all good. But I want to figure it out before I make decisions based off of the lack of awareness or the lack of understanding of what's going on for me.
345
