Speaker:I get this question a lot, "I keep taking L-arginine,
Speaker:L-citrulline, my nitric oxide doesn't get better, and I'm
Speaker:still deficient in nitric oxide." In my last episode, I
Speaker:talked about how you can measure nitric oxide by using the nitric
Speaker:oxide strip. But if you keep taking the L-arginine, L
Speaker:citrulline, and you don't see an improvement, that's why we're
Speaker:going to talk about it today, because I don't want you to
Speaker:waste your money and get frustrated, because there are
Speaker:multiple reasns why you will not make nitric oxide by taking
Speaker:L-arginine or L citrullate, and that your diet is the best thing
Speaker:possible. So stay with me ob this. We're going to get a
Speaker:little nerdy. We're going to get into the size of it a little
Speaker:bit, but just stay with me, and I'm going to try to explain to
Speaker:you why taking L-arginine, L-centulline does not increase
Speaker:your nitric oxide.
Speaker:First of all, is a first pass metabolism in your gut and your
Speaker:liver. A significant portion of the supplement that you take
Speaker:that has L-arginine, L-citrulline in it get
Speaker:metabolized and it doesn't go to the bloodstream once it go to
Speaker:your stomach and goes to the liver. So the liver and the gut
Speaker:kind of decrease the amount of bioavailability for even your
Speaker:body to even convert it to nitric oxide. Now, in order for
Speaker:your body to convert nitric oxide, you need the system
Speaker:called NOS. NOS means nitric oxide synthase. What nitric
Speaker:oxide synthase is kind of like an enzyme that has to convert
Speaker:the L-citrulline, L-arginine to nitric oxide. But if that enzyme
Speaker:is not working well, no matter how much L-arginine,
Speaker:L-citrulline you take, it will not convert it, because that
Speaker:enzyme is not going to make you nitric oxide. So you can have a
Speaker:gazillion L-arginine, L-citrulline sitting here, the
Speaker:enzyme is not going to convert it to nitric oxide. And in fact,
Speaker:when you have that much L-arginine, L-citrulline, it
Speaker:will actually become something that is inflammatory. It will
Speaker:actually decrease blood flow, which is the opposite of what
Speaker:you want to take, and may even harm your erection. So in most
Speaker:individual, taking L-arginine, you will not make nitric oxide
Speaker:because your enzyme, in what's called is saturated, no longer
Speaker:working well. That's called the L-arginine paradox, and that the
Speaker:nitric oxide synthase enzyme depends upon many, many factors.
Speaker:I'm not going to go over and board you, but it depends on a
Speaker:lot of vitamins and co-factors. That's why most of the time it
Speaker:doesn't work well. By the time you're 40, 50% of the NOS system
Speaker:is actually not even effective at all too. So just want you to
Speaker:let you know that by time you're 40, you've lost about 50% the
Speaker:ability to make nitric oxide. And that if you take too much
Speaker:nitric oxide, it will become inflammatory, and it will
Speaker:actually decrease blood flow as well, too.
Speaker:So in context, I hope you understand that if your enzyme
Speaker:is not working, then you're not making nitric oxide. So the best
Speaker:thing is to take it from your diet, and on this slide that I'm
Speaker:showing you, is going to talk about the two systems that I
Speaker:talk about, the NOS system which is on the left side, which it
Speaker:depend upon the enzyme, and then from your diet, because if you
Speaker:take, like arugula or beet and take sunflower seed, it will go
Speaker:to your mouth, and then your bacteria will convert it, and
Speaker:also the gastric acid in your stomach will convert it to
Speaker:nitric oxide. So you know that your enzyme is going to be
Speaker:deficient 50% of the time. Try to get your nitric oxide from
Speaker:your diet to increase your nitric oxide, and that's one of
Speaker:the reason why we created the nitric oxide capsule here that
Speaker:has arugula extract and no L-aginine, L-citrulline because
Speaker:it gives you the arugula straight into your system
Speaker:without your NOS enzyme having to convert it. So it gives you
Speaker:straight your nitric oxide. I that you need to increase blood
Speaker:flow. And therefore, if you're taking L-citrulline, L-arginine,
Speaker:and you're not having increase in nitric oxide, that is the
Speaker:reason why, because you're NOS enzyme is not working well, and
Speaker:that you need to supplement it through diet. And also I talked
Speaker:about in my previous episode, breathing. Breathing exercises
Speaker:where you breathe into your nose, breathe in for count of
Speaker:four and breathe out for a count of six, will also increase
Speaker:nitric oxide. Also exercise, such as doing weight training or
Speaker:high intensity interval exercise, will also increase
Speaker:your nitric oxide. So just simple things like that will go
Speaker:a long way, rather than taking L-citrulline, L-arginine,
Speaker:because it depended upon the enzyme system NOS, which is
Speaker:really not working that well. Also strategies that I talked
Speaker:about in the past episode, you can check out here where, you
Speaker:know, avoid taking fluoride mouthwash or fluoride
Speaker:toothpaste, and decrease the amount of antacid that you need
Speaker:to take. So that goes a long way, and I hope that will save
Speaker:you some money in taking the L-arginine, L-citrulline.
