Luke 12 - Worry Not Little Flock

In this episode, we walk through Luke 12 and explore some of the most relevant teachings of Jesus about integrity, fear, and faith. From exposing the dangers of hypocrisy to reminding us of God’s deep care—even for sparrows—this passage offers clarity and challenge for our lives today.

Hypocrisy as Leaven: I reflect on Jesus’ warning against the Pharisees’ hypocrisy and how even small compromises can infect our lives.

Fear vs. Faith: We talk about shifting our fear from people and problems to the deeper concern of staying spiritually aligned with God.

God’s Personal Care: The image of God knowing every hair on our head isn’t just poetic—it’s the foundation for trust in every anxiety we carry.

Money, Worry, and Trust: I unpack the parable of the rich fool and talk honestly about my own struggles with savings, retirement planning, and the temptation to rely on money more than God.

Always Being Ready: Jesus’ call to readiness isn’t about anxiety, but about living wisely and faithfully, like a servant who knows the Master could come at any time.

Takeaways:

If we build our lives on status, wealth, or appearance, we’re storing up the wrong treasure. God wants us to focus on His kingdom—because that’s the only investment with eternal return.

Living ready means staying rooted in the Word, responding in love, and keeping our hearts soft and open. Our anxieties don’t get to rule us when we trust the God who knows our every need.

I’m reminded again that God doesn’t need us to be perfect, but He does ask us to be faithful. To keep showing up, trusting Him, and staying ready for whatever comes next.
