"It’s okay not to be okay at home."
It was reported that more people in Singapore are seeking help for their mental health. However, there are many who are unaware or are in denial of knowing someone with mental health issues.
In this 2-part episode, we hope to tackle the sensitive issue of how we deal with mental health challenges as a family. What can parents do to support their child or family member?
Joining Joanna Koh-Hoe, CEO of Focus on the Family Singapore, is Lily*, a stay-home mum who runs her small business on the side. She is a mother of 3 adult children. Speaking with her about their personal journey is her youngest child Jack*, who is a 23 year old undergraduate. (*The names and voices have been modified to protect the privacy of our guests.)
To support families in this area, Focus on the Family Singapore is hosting an online webinar entitled Alive to Thrive on 15 Nov, 2-4pm. Discover how to create a safe space for your child at home, and learn to build on foundations of open communication and supportive relationships to protect their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
