Shownotes

Welcome to this weeks’ episode of The Australian Small Business Show!

Today we’re discussing no ones favourite topic, but an important one for small business owners – budgets and elections.

As we are all aware, recently the Federal Election was called for the 3rd May, we’ve had the Federal Budget delivered, and the response from the opposition.

As we discuss today, a budget in an election year often has a very different flavour – a short term focus designed to maximise votes.

We unpack the impacts likely for small business for either parties proposed policies and discuss key considerations business owners should take into account.

From tax cuts, to new tax breaks, to incentives for apprentices and a ban in non compete clauses in employment contracts. We’re bringing you the highlights that matter, and not the fluff that doesn’t.

As Matt mentions, if you’re interested to know where your local Federal representative stands, you may wish to check out Vote Compass: https://www.abc.net.au/news/vote-compass
