relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: So in the last episode we were
Speaker:having the steps to get the project.
Speaker:And now we have the project
Speaker:basic that is something that I believe is really important for your food forest
Speaker:to six with you, which is that the all relationships that goes into the food for
Speaker:how does that work?
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Yeah.
Speaker:Like how, just, just like you're saying, I mean, the question is how do
Speaker:you relate with your forest, which is pretty much a relationship with nature.
Speaker:How do you, how do you interact with nature?
Speaker:, and in a, in the last episode we talked about, you know, how to.
Speaker:Have a goal and then, you know, be patient and all that stuff.
Speaker:Um, I also think that before we move to the relationship side,
Speaker:it's important to like, uh, talk about the layers of a food forest.
Speaker:What are the layers that you need to have before you can call what
Speaker:you have of food forest, and then that will, you know, ground covers.
Speaker:What do you need to plants to have a food for you?
Speaker:You should have ground covers.
Speaker:You should have herbs.
Speaker:You should have the SHB layer.
Speaker:You should have vine.
Speaker:The vines can even grow out of the forest and grow on your
Speaker:fence, which is really beautiful.
Speaker:Right?
Speaker:You can have low tree layers as well, and then tall tree layers.
Speaker:Um, if you have this six or seven components, then you
Speaker:actually have a food forest.
Speaker:And what that also does is it effectively creates habitats for
Speaker:butter lines for bees and for birds.
Speaker:And which, which brings us to the points where you're now interacting with nature,
Speaker:because what you have done is not only for you, but is also creating a space
Speaker:and a place of habitat for, um, other species, um, of animals like, like
Speaker:bees and birds and butterflies and, and insects and, and warms and all those sort
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: Yeah.
Speaker:And worms.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Yeah.
Speaker:And, and it just kind of brings the relationship together.
Speaker:You.
Speaker:Um, and makes it effective for the earth, which is really important.
Speaker:Cause the birds will, you know, cross pollinate the butterflies, do the same.
Speaker:And then, you know, in lion king, it was called the circle of life.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: Yes.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:And, and , when you were talking, I, , I remember, uh, braiding, uh, sweet
Speaker:grass, the, the book, have you read it
Speaker:braid?
Speaker:I really recommended.
Speaker:And she talks about the three sisters, which
Speaker:are corn,
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Yeah.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: uh, being
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Okay.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: and.
Speaker:Squash like, like, uh, what's the name?
Speaker:the orange for Halloween?
Speaker:Well, the squash families, which is the pumpkins.
Speaker:That's the goal.
Speaker:So she, she, she told, she told about the three sisters and, and the
Speaker:relationship between the three is exactly what you were describing.
Speaker:So once our, to the corn grows tall, the vs, uh, of the, of the beans, uh,
Speaker:go around the, the corn and gives a lot of nitrogen to the, to the soil for
Speaker:the corn and the pumpkins to, to grow, which the punks is across that goes, uh,
Speaker:like horizontally on the
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: yeah.
Speaker:On the ground.
Speaker:That's right.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: So, and the three sister has all
Speaker:the nutrition that we human need
Speaker:for a healthy living.
Speaker:So
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Wow.
Speaker:That's that's that's amazing.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: it is amazing, isn't it?
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: I mean, and if you have that behind
Speaker:your backyard, then boom, you're good.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: Yes, exactly.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: You're good.
Speaker:And it's just a mean that we can, I think the fun part of this
Speaker:is we can live a healthy life.
Speaker:We can have a healthy environment and we can save the earth and we
Speaker:can have food all at the same.
Speaker:All at the same time by, by maintaining an amazing relationship with nature,
Speaker:just like you said, and that's great.
Speaker:Uh, that's really great.
Speaker:I think this is cool.
Speaker:This is beautiful.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: And also in that relationship.
Speaker:When you, when you are out of the garden, you still apply that those
Speaker:principles of relationship to your life.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Yeah.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: It's not that suddenly you are , in
Speaker:nature with your garden and then you're killing to your neighbor
Speaker:because that relationship with your garden.
Speaker:informs or, or, or goes beyond the garden to the
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: yeah.
Speaker:And it trickles down.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:I, I think it teaches us something about care.
Speaker:Cause
Speaker:when.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: attention
Speaker:and responsibility.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: I, I think what you've said is amazing.
Speaker:It's pretty amazing.
Speaker:Um, and I think the other time we were talking about how out therapeutic this
Speaker:could be, and I think it's underrated because, you know, we don't see a lot of
Speaker:it around, you know, when you're tired in the evening and you go sit behind or
Speaker:you go sit under a tree and then you're having a nice street that you just
Speaker:picked from your side, and then you're
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: Yeah, it is.
Speaker:We do that with, with peace, like garden peace, and it's just beautiful.
Speaker:Just pick that up and put it in your mouth.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Yeah.
Speaker:I don't think there's a better feeling.
Speaker:We only see it in movies and cartoons.
Speaker:I mean, we've pretty much done, you know, some damage to the environment
Speaker:that we don't see that around ourselves, but if we can create that, why not?
Speaker:Why not?
Speaker:I think it's it's a little.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: That's a good, that's a good
Speaker:place to, to finish the episode.
Speaker:Why
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - OLABANJI adj a rx d (and inma)-2022-4-4__11-51-53: Yeah, why not?
Speaker:yeah.
Speaker:So why not?
Speaker:And we'll see you next time.
Speaker:Thank you.
Speaker:relationships in the food forest - INMA adj a rx d (and olabanji)-2022-4-4__11-40-23: I love you.
Speaker:Punking.
