Shownotes

It's crucial for your ideal client feels confident that you can help them BEFORE they schedule a consultation.

In this episode, we’ll cover the 3 necessary elements that need to exist in your marketing material so that you ideal client feels confident that you can help them BEFORE they schedule a therapy consultation.

You cannot neglect the importance of having a therapy website to showcase your services, hence why we’ll cover the 3 most common pages that are visited on a website, so that you can make it easy for clients to learn more about you as the therapist.

And since the therapy consultation is not a therapy session, it’s important that you answer as many of their questions as you can, so that they feel confident saying YES to working with you.

Aisha:

How do you know that your marketing is working?

Aisha:

When your ideal client shows up for a therapy consultation!

Aisha:

Welcome to Beyond the Session with Aisha Shabazz.

Aisha:

In this episode of Beyond the Session, we're talking about how to increase

Aisha:

the likelihood that your ideal client will show up to your therapy consult.

Aisha:

I will try and temper my excitement because I love talking

Aisha:

about therapy consultations.

Aisha:

Your marketing needs to speak to your ideal client in a way that shows

Aisha:

them you are familiar with their goals, aspirations, and challenges,

Aisha:

and your therapy consultation is one piece of the puzzle, just like your

Aisha:

marketing is one piece of the puzzle.

Aisha:

So if your marketing is not speaking to your ideal client, guess what?

Aisha:

They're not gonna show up to your therapy consultations and I break

Aisha:

this down into goals, aspirations, and challenges, because it's an easier way

Aisha:

to contextualize what we're actually doing in our marketing strategy.

Aisha:

The thing I want you to consider is that when they find you, they need to know.

Aisha:

You are who you say you are.

Aisha:

If it's not clear to them that you are familiar with their goals, aspirations,

Aisha:

and challenges, if it's not clear to them that you can clearly help them

Aisha:

through therapy, they're gonna move on.

Aisha:

Once you fine tune your marketing, there are subtle yet crucial steps that many

Aisha:

therapists underestimate their importance.

Aisha:

You have to make it easy for them to learn more about you and not

Aisha:

you as the practice, but you as the person who is offering therapy.

Aisha:

The simplest way to do this is to have a website.

Aisha:

And you've heard me say time and time again, you need a website.

Aisha:

In my opinion, it's non-negotiable.

Aisha:

A website is gonna give you endless possibilities on what you

Aisha:

can share with an ideal client.

Aisha:

And on your website, you get to use your creativity.

Aisha:

So get excited about that.

Aisha:

There are so many opportunities for us to use our creativity and the moment

Aisha:

we think to ourselves, Ugh, this is so difficult, then that shuts everything.

Aisha:

The other thing that needs to be easy is it needs to be easy for your ideal client

Aisha:

to learn about what you're offering.

Aisha:

So you might be thinking to yourself, well, isn't that obvious?

Aisha:

I'm a therapist.

Aisha:

I offer therapy.

Aisha:

But we all know that therapy is not the same with every therapist.

Aisha:

So they need to know what therapy is like at your practice.

Aisha:

Taking the time to break that down can happen on your website.

Aisha:

The other thing that needs to be easy for your ideal client is it needs

Aisha:

to be easy for them to reach out to you, to contact you, to speak to you.

Aisha:

And again, you might be thinking, well, my marketing is speaking to

Aisha:

them, but your marketing is not you.

Aisha:

You're not gonna be offering therapy through your marketing content.

Aisha:

And that's a controversial statement in and of itself, but you're not

Aisha:

going to be offering therapy.

Aisha:

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, your podcast, your blog, the

Aisha:

therapy is happening in session.

Aisha:

And so they need to feel as though that it is so easy to reach out to

Aisha:

you that there's no friction there.

Aisha:

Did you know that the most frequently visited pages on your

Aisha:

website are your homepage, your about page, and your contact page?

Aisha:

Well, it's no surprise, right, because I just shared with you that your ideal

Aisha:

client needs to know more about you.

Aisha:

You're about Paige.

Aisha:

Your ideal client needs to know more about what you're offer.

Aisha:

Your homepage is the gateway to that.

Aisha:

They need to find it easy or at least easier to reach out to you.

Aisha:

And that's your contact page.

Aisha:

And for our purposes, it's your client inquiry form.

Aisha:

That is the moment that they're gonna reach out and say, you know what?

Aisha:

I am ready to talk about therapy with the therapist.

Aisha:

That might be the new person in my therapeutic journey.

Aisha:

The other thing that you have to consider is you need to make it

Aisha:

easy for them to get their questions answered and throughout your therapy

Aisha:

consultation process, you're going to be answering a lot of questions

Aisha:

before your therapy consultation, during your therapy consultation.

Aisha:

And after your therapy consultation, and I have a checklist available so that

Aisha:

you can see over 20 questions that you can answer for your ideal client so that

Aisha:

they can determine, you know what, hmm.

Aisha:

This is an easy yes to not only reach out to this therapist, but

Aisha:

to sign on for therapy with them.

Aisha:

And you can check out that link in the show.
