Shownotes

River surfing enthusiasts attempt to surf along on the wave, which can be 2 m (7 ft) high. The river was first surfed in 1955 by World War II veteran Jack Churchill, sometimes known as “Fighting Jack” or “Mad Jack” Churchill. He was renowned both for carrying a Scottish claymore sword, bagpipes and a longbow as well as for being the only Allied soldier to kill an enemy with a carriage longbow during the war.
